Before actually answering your question, I think you first need to know about the difference between the 20-year, yearly and monthly. a. 20-year Base Star - Gives you the permanent influence of that sector depending on when your house was built. b. Yearly Star - Gives you the influence of the Yearly star changes which only impacts that particular year. c. Monthly Star - Gives you the influence of the Monthly star changes which impacts that month. Once you understand this, you will then know that priority is to always fix up the 20-year base star as this impacts the long term. The Yearly only shift some luck slightly for the better or worst. Usually to make it simple we just focus on where the star 2 or 5 which are usually the problem stars affects. Sometimes yearly star comes in which help the sector so some original influence is reduced. 2. So to answer your question, we should always fix up the 20-year chart. Then fine tune additional cures if necessary for the year so as to ensure that the stars do not cause the 20-year sector to be too inbalance. 3. Of course we also can look at the stars in total, ie say what are the elements present and cure them as a whole. 4. In your case. In current period 8, then this is a very bad sector as both 7 / 6 are Metal while 8 is the auspicious star is exhausted. Dear Anooja, 1. For star 5 for a period 7 / 8 house in the center isn't a main issue. This is because usually the center is not where most bedroom or any important rooms are located. 2. Usually for center of the house, it should be kept empty as far as possible this is usually where all the different influence will meet at together so not wise to have too much of any elements. 3. A more major issue where some homes are affected with the presence of Star 9 and Star 5 are present at the same sector. This is because Fire will fuel the Earth Star. Hi, The Eight House concept is based on year of birth, and the gua direction each have an element, so this concept that your gua is Earth is based on that. Whereas ba zi takes into consideration the day, month, year and time of birth. So this is significantly more accurate. The same can also be said for taking the year of birth of the ba zi element rather than the more accurate day of birth element based on the day itself. ie a year can be say Wood year, so by default a very simple analysis is Wood element, but even in the year there is a Water-Wood person, Earth-Wood person etc. That is why the ba zi true element is always taken as the most accurate form of an element as it gives you the Heaven Luck portion of ba zi. Dear Frederick, (1) If I Yes, if you read through some of my past postings and illustrations on the use of the bottle gourd, this is considered an "authentic" Feng Shui cure. Here many Chinese Feng Shui practitioners recommend it to be placed between the toilet and the wall of the bedroom. Especially if one's bedhead is against this wall. Another use, by some FS practitioners is to use it in place of the six-coins or the six-coins in a salt water bottle. (#2 or #5) Here, it is symbolic of "sucking" the bad qi. There is no harm using it. Since, many authentic Feng Shui schools do recommend it. As for the crystal, it is frankly a modern invention. And no crystal appeared earlier than 1970's (in bulk). So, I leave it to you to imagine whether it can or cannot work. Although, some FS practitioners could say that like can be diffused by it. Therefore, between the bottle gourd ("Hulu") or the crystal, the bottle gourd seems to be the more popular "authentic" cure. Personally, the other next best alternative, which is not a Feng Shui cure but rather, "commonsense approach" is the use of hepta air-cleaners. Brand leader such as Honeywell, Amcor etc... With new Japanese comers like Sharp coming into the scene. I personally prefer this last "scientific" approach. I use three air cleaners in my home. And touch wood, and when I first used them, each time, I nearly fall sick, but recovered immediately. And for the last three years, I do not have to see a doctor. The last time I saw a doctor, was to check on the Feng Shui of a clinic. I know of many mothers who needlessly worry about their family. Nowadays, when I look at the palms of several clients, they seemed to "worry unnecessarily". Therefore, if this investment can help; I personally feel, that they have one less worry! Dear Peck Wun, Please see below:- It depends. Feng Shui is all about trying to squeeze as much luck as possible for a home. On some areas, this is highly impossible. But overall, it is about trying to squeeze as much luck of the home as possible. Let me illustrate:- Based on what I have experienced: ================================ Take for example: the Rivervale Crest condominium. This condo, TOP last year. And when I first discussed the layout plan with a few clients who had purchased it, one or two years prior to their taking the keys; they have a toilet at the centrepoint of their home. Nevertheless, fortunately, the condo unit they are staying is more of rectangular shaped design. I feel that proper analysis e.g. Flying Star vs Eight House vs Shapes and Forms can squeeze out or neutralise this issue. The only issue that one has to bear with is (in the past forum message - drawback of too much moisture coming into the rooms from the "stagnant" pool of water. Here humans must fit into the home; not the other way around. The other situation:- ==================== 1. Toilet at the centrepoint or near centrepoint plus the apartment is an odd shape. For example, the layout plan from top down looks much like a "triangle". 2. Here, the key failure is not so much of the toilet at the centrepoint (considered as ONE leak) but a systemic failure on the part of the entire shapes and forms. 3. The major systemic failure in this "triangle" shaped hope is it's triangle shape. 4. Like a pack of cards; this triangle shape is already inauspicious. Coupled by a leak (don't care whether it is close to, at the centrepoint) will bring down the total luck of the home. 5. Therefore, what I mentioned here is that in order for a failure to occur, there are often 2 or more leaks. Again it depends. For example if the bad sector is "really very very bad" e.g. #5 (misfortune) with #2 (sickness) and #4 or #3 (bad wood); then, it is better to wish for only one sector "facing" this problem. But if there are sectors where although there are bad #5 but because there are also #6 etc... then, the Flying Star chart neutralises this sector or makes it mild or weak. Therefore, there is no hard and fast rule about it. Thus from the Flying star point of view, lets hope for mild bad stars stradding both sectors. Of course, we hope that there are good stars that straddle both sectors. In conclusion, there is no single right or wrong answer to your question. In fact, another major consideration not mentioned is the Shapes and Forms of the room. For example, for newly married couples, it is always preferable that their bedroom is not odd shaped. Dear Lola, 1. Just take note that one Feng Shui School of Thought finds it highly unfavourable for the kitchen to be at NE. In addition, the stove is at NE. 2. This School of thought suggests that the kitchen, should not be at the North and NE sectors of a home. It has more the concept of cold winds blowing from the North. And, thus, this affects a stove situated at the North and NE. 3. However, I personally find this argument to be not exactly applicable to every geographical locations. 4. The idea behind Para 2 is because, it may be hard to cook IF - there high winds blowing into the kitchen from openings close to this. Here, if one is not affected by the winds, then this is not a major issue. 5. The idea is also equivalent of the "commonsense approach" to Feng Shui in that a stove should not be placed with it's back at a window area. 6. The next more critical point emphasised by nearly every FS practitioner is based on the Yin and Yang concept. Here, it is not ideal for the stove to be just next to the water position. 7. Another major consideration is that a stove must not sit below a beam or a water pipe. If water pipe is to be run below the stove, it must not pass the stove within 6 inches distance. Where possible, the pipe should run in a U shape design away from the stove. 8. Since both of you are of the same Gua (Kua) then, it is good for the stove to be facing your favourable direction. 9. Some Feng Shui practitioners recommend the stove (fire) face the East or SE (wood locations). And alternatively facing south as opposed to north. Since north is the water position. But, here, I find that this may not be practical in many instances. Since some of these positions are inauspicious e.g. the stove facing the back toilet bowl/wash basin etc... 10. Under my last point, it is important that the stove does not face the toilet entrance e.g. facing the toilet bowl, wash basin or shower of the back toilet. 11. As mentioned, there are many different interpretations of the position of the stove. 12. Some FS practitioners feel that it should be placed facing a bad direction to burn away bad qi. While others feel that it should be in a good location to enhance qi. 13. I have already listed, the major considerations regarding the stove. And the above statement above under Para 12 - can have different meanings to different people and practitioners. 14. However, it was had never been officially released to replace the v9.00 as it was not quite ready for a complete replacement. We had been busy enhancing the report in the past week, and the module is now ready to fully replace the v9.00. There were many additional more changes made to the v10.01 (both internally as well as visually), so we had decided to release it officially as v11.00 instead of v10.x. Key difference (v11.00 vs v9.00) ================================ - v11.00 is more modular, meaning that different parts of the analysis can be extracted as a separate analysis. Also, this makes the report less restrictive for expanding the report. And allow us to work on certain analysis focusing say on Career, or Health issues etc. - v11.00 integrates not just Ba Zi but also useful analysis from Eight House report. It also allows cross analysis between ba zi information, Eight House information as well as Chinese Horoscope. - Just as the Auspicious Dates revamp, we also revamp the v11.00 report so that it takes advantage of the CSS/Style formatting. For example, certain Explanation sections are box in a cyan colour box, which visually differentiate the normal analysis portion from the explanation. Making it easy to find the analysis results or explanation. - The new report is more visually enhanced so that you will be able to quickly find the section you are looking for as well as to be able to tell very quickly if an analysis is good for you or not. ie. Summary Analysis (using the Score system) was enhanced so that we have a summarised version. In addition, if the period is inauspicious for example, the box highlighting that period will be ie gray for average, blue for auspicious, red for inauspicious). Making it easier to see if the period is good or bad for you. - More explanation modules are expected to integrate very closely with the report so that you will better understand the report. ............................................................ Hi Anon, Yes. The Auspicious Date for 12 months uses tong shu and ba zi to find suitable dates to an individual. Included in the package is 1 Yearly Report which allows you to generate a yearly auspicious to show you which months are better and which dates in the month are auspicious or inauspicious. The Monthly Report does more in-depth analysis into a particular month. You are given 12 credits to allow you to find generate 12 different months for a single person, or 12 different months for 12 persons. How you use the credit is up to you. It will not change under any combination. ie. if the Heavenly Stem is Wood, but a combination between Day and Month changes both element of the Day and Month to Fire, your birth element is still Wood. We have brought back the fun in the website by assigning different website colour theme to each section of the website, this was a also to suit the expanding Navigation category. Since the site is pretty large, it will take a few more days to fully update each of the major section of the website with the various cool colour scheme. But as at now, most of the major section would have been uploaded to the website. This breakdown is to allow us to further group some of the related sections together in the various key sections to make it even easier for you to find all the various services and resources on our website. It is also geared to making the site fun to surf (just like in the past before we consolidated to a standard navigation, but has no time to refine the individual colour section scheme.)
