Dear Anon, Please read below:- Usually there are two method of looking at this. Firstly you must first determine that the star you are enhancing is a auspicious star. If it is an inauspicious star, then you will be activating it instead. Next, you have to make sure firstly that before you start enhancing that sector the elements are balanced. This means that if there is an inauspicious star destroying the auspicious star, you have to correct it first. After the correction, simply look at the element of the auspicious star, say water, then if the sector has very strong water influence, meaning there is already a metal star in the sector, then my recommedation is to use the Fire (Wealth) so that the water can conquer the Fire to bring more wealth. If there is only a `few' water, then you should enhance it by making it stronger with Metal. However, please take note here that the MAIN reason why our reports DO NOT specify Water Star, is simply because Water star requires OPEN SPACE. So far no house can be considered an `OPEN SPACE', unless it is a large space such as the living room. If so, Cecil has covered this adequately using `Shapes and Form' School where he mentioned that the two main locations for activating water star (or clear space) is at the frontage of the house e.g. outside the main door and the living room. Thus, you can see the effectiveness of using say fish tank, fountain is limited in the house. Furthermore, when we talk about enhancements, water should be flat e.g. akin a pond and not `high' as in a fish tank which towers even above certain furniture. More like a pool of water is the word for `activating' water. However, it is possible to enhance the water star with these items. This is why most of the time, fish tank is used to neutralise sha qi or poison arrows. In fact the most effective activation is to have a pool of water at the front of the house (outside the constraints of the house). So you see this is the fundamental reason why Water Star activation is not very effective in the house. And usually we only advice doing this, after all the problem sectors have been cured. Also, rather than using say the common fountain activation, there are some alterative such as creating an active Qi in good sectors by having revolving fan to create moving Qi to circulate into the rooms. Usually, no one uses earth elements instead they will use a fan to create an active Qi, allowing the Metal element which is the auspicious element this star to circulate the room. As you mentioned, that since it is a water star, usually, it is more effective with either a support element for water, or the wealth element so that the water can conquer and create wealth. Dear Carrie, For every year there is a heavenly stem and earthly branch. For example, in year 2000, Heavenly stem is Metal. While the Dragon is Earth. The dragon's element is thus Earth. This means that for most year element they often take the heavenly stem which is Metal based on the heavenly stem. However, I have written the Daily Forecast based on the Pillars of Destiny & Chinese Astrology. Thus, have used the Earthly Branches. Reason: The earthly branches element has a great deal of influence each year, and also, the great deal of Clashes, Harms, Punishments and Self Punishments can only be found in the Earthly Branches, hidden elements etc. Thus, this provides a better and allows users to make better use of their Personal Destiny. Dear Tracey, I am sorry, it is difficult for us to help you based on what you tell us. What I can suggest is for you to make use of the tools available on the site to help you make the proper accessment. Such as use the Eight House to find which is a good sector for you to face when you work. Use the free pillars to at least determine what element you belong to so that you know what kind of elements, colours can you use to enhance yourself. If you like to enhance home office, the Flying Star report can be used to analyse your home to determine which are the problem or unbalanced a sectors. I believe he as deduced that the person is a strong wood, thus, metal is good for him. As metal control his strong wood. Dear Anon, Please read below:- The problem with Grand Duke and 3 kilings is that, although it has been mentioned and practice by traditional feng shui masters. Their advise has always been not to disturb them. But often there is no "solution" suggested by them. It is just like in our chinese culture, when we say that one offends the "god" there is no way of actually pleasing them. Usually, all that was done was to offer incense to these sectors in hope as an apology. Similarly, many times such theories has been talked about but there has been no effective one solution cure. Thus it is very hard to say if putting a element will work or not as there has been no traditional solutions suggested. So far all the various solutions I have seen has been a newly created one, so I cannot say for sure how effective they will be. The problem with 3 killing and Grand Duke is that these theories are pretty much static issue as they are based on the yearly influence. I know that the 3 killings can be expanded even in the month as they are constantly shifting. Just like the flying Star. This is quite similar to using Zi Wei Dou Shu's monthly chart. But personally, I do not see that a problem will occur if you activate the sector with a water feature. This is because, this theory of the three killings is based on the fact that each of the direction is associate with an animal sign and that the triangulated sector will have problems due to the clashes. Dear Anon, That looks like you have enhanced yourself sufficiently. Remember that by using Water, any metal you meet will be turned into Water thus enhancing your weak wood. I think that should be sufficient. Water is represented by wavy lines, glass objects type. etc. No, you should still have some of them, becuase in your case Earth is your wealth. Once you have enhanced yourself with water to strengthen your weak wood, you can then control your wealth deity which appears in the form of Earth. In any case, you should have a balance rather that completely removing a certain element away. This is because although Metal to you is your destruction, it also is the element to produce Water, so if you do not have metal in your life, then there will not be any water production. Dear Anon, It depends on the chart. I noticed for such chart, the reverse may be a better solution where you should follow the follow by creating the initation of the missing elements. Such as say in this case say you are a Strong Water. In such "unique" cases, it is sometimes better to continue to strengthen Water, while having Wood, to initiate the creation of Wood, which in turn creates Fire, and in turn create Earth etc. But without looking at your chart I cannot comment any further. Dear Ang Chye, Upon reviewing your message, I would like to inquire about your reasons for wanting to hang a Wind Chime. Is it solely due to the presence of star 5 in the year 2000? Or is it because the imbalance of Star 5 in that particular sector necessitates the use of a Wind Chime as a remedy? Personally, there are more effective cures available than using a Wind Chime, which can often come with complications such as varying element types of rods, different rod numbers, and hollow or solid rods. Additionally, incorrect placement of a Wind Chime may lead to more issues rather than resolving the existing problem. It is advisable to only apply a cure if you are certain of imbalances in the sector. While Star 5 is classified as a Sickness or Misfortune type of star, similar to Star 2, both being of Strong Earth, your focus seems to be on the star 5 of the year 2000. To determine whether this star is auspicious or inauspicious, it is essential to consider the 20-year base star, such as 6-3-8 (where Mountain & Water are related to the 20-year base star). When Star 5 enters, it becomes 6-3-8 plus 5 years. This does not necessarily mean that the 5 star will bring bad luck or create an inauspicious sector. In terms of Flying Star, there are triple combinations like Wood, Fire, Earth, which are considered harmonious and lead to the production of Metal and Water, promoting harmony. Dear Jenny, Actually, when we look at Feng Shui, you’ll notice that we never encourage putting all your hopes on just finding a so-called “wealth corner” or only focusing on enhancing wealth. This is because it’s not really possible, or easy, to pinpoint these factors using just one single theory. More often, you’ll see that we prefer to look for an overall solution that addresses the different problems you’re facing as a whole. We always stress the importance of achieving overall balance in every area of your life. This means that if there’s an issue with Feng Shui related to Shapes and Forms, we will look for a remedy for that. And when there is a problem in the Feng Shui of the house (Flying Star), we will suggest a solution for the affected sectors of the home. The same applies to the other theories such as Eight House, Pillars, and so on. If you’ve noticed, what we often do is correct all the various problem areas rather than only trying to enhance the good ones. Just take a look at the following example:- Imagine two different people who are both facing money issues (whether it’s not being able to save enough or having financial difficulties). Let’s say one of these families only wants to know how to increase their wealth to fix this problem. This family asks a Feng Shui practitioner or master to help them enhance their wealth. Following the advice, the family buys a fountain or wind chimes and spends a lot of time and money trying to boost their wealth. However, they do not focus on finding the underlying problems that may actually be causing their loss of wealth. Now, the other family wants to solve their problem by correcting all the trouble spots. So, after analyzing the situation, we might find that there’s an issue with a particular sector of the house, or that the house is not suitable for them, and so on. This family then works on addressing all these fundamental problems. If you compare the two, you’ll find that, in the end, the second family—who resolved the major issues affecting their household—will enjoy a better quality of life than the first family. After the second family starts experiencing a better life (less stress, more harmony), they can then think about enhancing their wealth. Also, remember that when we talk about Wealth in Feng Shui, it does NOT refer only to money. Wealth can mean having many children, enjoying a very happy and harmonious life, and owning some properties. Since most of their problems are resolved, life will naturally feel much better. And if they then enhance their good sectors, they will enjoy even more benefits! This is what Feng Shui is really about – BALANCE between good and bad. The moral of this short story is simply that there’s no point in only enhancing wealth. Dear Anon. I hope I got the correct reference for the term "six killing" as there are a few different "six killing" used in Eight House and Flying Star. I believe you are referring to six killing as Liu (6) Sha / Sar (Kill) which is one of the directions in the Eight House called spook. Generally, since it a desk direction, if you can shift it to your beneficial direction, you should. If not, at least strengthen yourself with your favourable element. For example if you are weak wood, make use of water (Blue colour etc). Hope that helps. Dear Anon, We are by no means any expert graphic designers. So we can only advise you on the types of colour scheme at best. You should seek an graphic designer to help you on the design of the logo itself. Being a weak Wood in an Earth related job. To be able to contain your Earth job, the way to do is to strengthen your Wood, so there should be some blue colour (Water) surrounding the brown / green (Wood) colour. Dear Anon, In the traditional practice, Five Element has been tagged to only CHINESE CHARACTERS. Thus it has been officially used for Chinese names only. However, in recent years, some modern Feng Shui Practitioner has tried to employ these techniques in English Names. I believe I had also come across reading about this. And even some had converted some English names with Five Elements subsitutes. Well, it is difficult to comment on something which has not be tried or tested or has any traditional implementation techniques. So it may or may not work. But so long as whoever came up with this theory has sufficient understanding of the Five Element and applies them properly. Yes, it is possible to do so.
