  1. I have checked out the Suuto homepage and got the distributor info. The distributor in Malaysia said they carry the model KB-14/360R and the cost is RM325 (~US$86). Cecil, is this the same model as yours? Rose
  2. G'day Cecil and Robert, I have taken another reading with Cecil's method 1 (with the protractor). This time, my reading says the main entrance falls on 22.5 degree West of North, i.e. exactly on the boundary of NW3 and N1. Assuming that the reading is accurate, what does one do next to determine the true natal chart of the unit? Is there some kind of test we could carry out to determine it should be N1 or NW3? What I am saying is that: for example, say if one of the sector is very auspicious in one FS chart while inauspicious in another FS chart, we will then be able to apply an element test(?) to the sector to see which FS chart is true. regards, Rose
  3. Dear Cecil and Robert, I gathered from Geomancy-online that you are arranging with a reputable U to offer the FS courses. Does that eventually lead to a complete Degree in Feng Shui? Is that sufficient enough to get one started to be a FS practitioner? I believe that experience is essential to the FS profession. Is it possible to arrange for some field trips to live sites, after learning all the theories and computation methods? Does Geomancy-U help to offer career opportunities to the graduates? brgd, Rose
  4. I remember reading (on Geomancy-Online, I think) that if the toilet is found on top on the main entrance, this is very inauspicious. Unfortunately, I have noticed that A LOT OF HOUSES in Malaysia are like that. To be specific, the attached bathroom of the master bedroom on the top floor is directly on top of the main entrance on the ground floor. Some of these are new houses and some are old. The universities/colleges should really consider to incorporate some Feng Shui courses into the curriculum of Architecture, so that these architects or draftmen can design better houses! Oops! Went off track. I would like to know if there is any known cure for this. Rose P/S: Ever since I came to know about Feng Shui, I tend to apply the limited knowledge that I have onto every house / office that I went. Of course, I know only too well that I am not in any position to give advice, as my advice might not be accurate at all and in turn only yields harmful effects.
  5. Dear Cecil & Robert, Thanks for your kind assistance. I have generated both reports now. The second one (with NW3 door) seems to be not as good as the first (with N1 door). Now, is there a way to verify which is the true natal chart? brgds, Rose
  6. Dear Cecil, Was that a typo or I understood it wrongly? "Left Brain person" should be more YANG, while "Right Brain person" should be more YIN, right? Rose If you are a "Right Brain person" - you are considered more YANG person and more inclined towards imagination, the art, spatial, dance and enjoy to express yourself in graphics.
  7. Intriguing! It is true. I have always thought that I am more a "Left-Brain" person. I have never associated that with the Yin and Yang aspect. I did a count on the # of Yang / Yin elements on my Pillars. It confirms that. I have 6 Yang elements and only 2 Yin elements. Oops! That seems very unbalanced! Besides balancing our 5-elements, do we also need to balance the Yin and Yang? How to? best regards, Rose
  8. I tried to take another reading of the main entrance with my limited tools (small compass, measuring tape, etc). I got the same result as the previous -- I cannot confirm whether it should be N1 or NW3, as the line joining the center to the middle of the door does seem to lie on the boundary of NW3 and N1 :( What shall I do next? brgds, @->-----
  9. Mountain Star question continued... 1. There are two walls at right angle. One is a solid wall while the other is with a window. Would it be effective to activate the Mountain Star with the solid wall, although the window wall is nearby. 2. Does it matter what is behind the solid wall, e.g. if the toilet is behind the solid wall? brgds, Rose
  10. Dear Cecil, Robert and Glyn, Thanks for all the advice. I have thought about the Flying-Star a lot in the last couple of days, and I have a few questions. Q1: Is it okay to activate all the mountain stars found regardless of the sector (Sickness sector, Dispute sector, etc)? Q2: Are there any adverse effects if we try to activate a mountain star that is not there? Q3: Correct me if I were wrong. The way to activate the Mountain Star is to create a symbolic "mountain" in the sector. a. Should it be at high place? b. Besides putting a massive object (e.g. a paper-weight) on a shelf, could I hang a massive object on the wall instead? c. Does it matter if it isn't near a window? Q4: I have some glow-in-the-dark decorative stars. I thought of sticking them up on my ceiling / walls for decoration purpose, so that I could enjoy the "starry night" scene when I go to sleep. But then I hesitated as I wonder whether there is any Feng Shui significance in doing so, e.g. symbolizes always sleeping under the sky, like homeless people :) ??!! All comments welcome :) Q5: In my work-place, each of us has an open-cubicle. When we are sitting, we will have our backs facing each other, and people could walk around in the space between our backs. Somehow I felt uncomfortable about this, as if I didn't have any solid-support at my back. I then used some files and boxes to build up a "wall" at my back. Is that right? Q6: What are the effective ways to deal with overhead beam? (At times, I would have no choice but to sit under an overhead beam, and I learned this is bad.) Hehe, I feel embarrassed sometimes for asking so many questions *blush* Ta! Rose
  11. Thanks and regards, Rose
  12. Dear Cecil & Robert, Firstly, thank you very much for your kind assistance. I have generated a FS Report successfully using N1 as the main entrance, although I am not sure whether it should be N1 or NW3 (both seem likely to me!) Question 1: As I am not sure whether it should be N1 or NW3, I believe that through some initial analysis, I would be able to know which is the right one, right? Question 2: For a East group person (I am KUA Chen-3), the FS Chart seems inauspicious to me, because my 4 auspicious directions in the FS Chart: E -- Misfortune/Sickness(5), 4&1 S -- Sickness(2), 7&7 N -- Dispute(3), 6&8 NE -- Fading Prosperity(6), 3&2 while my 4 inauspicious directions: NW -- Very Auspicious(8), 1&4 NE -- Long Gone Prosperity(1), 8&6 W -- Very Auspicious(9), 9&5 SW -- Education/Romance/Scandal(4), 5&9 Is that good or bad for me? Question 3: North[Dispute(3),6&8]: where my Main entrance is. There is a Mountain Star there, with a good 8-1 combo. Should I or Should I not activate the Mountain Star here? How do I take advantage of the good 8-1 combo of Prosperity and Good Fortune here? Question 4: South[Sickness(2),Double-7]: where my round table is. There is a Mountain Star there, with a good 8-1 combo. Should I or should I not activate the Mountain Star here? Double-7 is a very auspicious combo. How do I take advantage of it? Question 5: East[Misfortune(5),4&1]: where my bed is (Is that why I fall sick easily?) No Mountain Star here. Proposed to use Metal to control the Wood here. Good 8-1 combo--good for sales,..., will get unexpected wealth. Should I apply Metal here? How do I take advantage of the good 8-1 combo? Question 6: For SW[Education/Romance/Scandal(4),5&9] SE[Fading Prosperity[6],3&2] Center[Current Prosperity[7],2&3], all with lousy 8-1 combo and Triple Combo to neutralise the inauspicious influence. Are these consider auspicious then? Should I use the suggested elemental cure at these sectors? Question 7: There are two other mountain stars found on NW[Very Auspicious(8),1&4] and NE[Long Gone Prosperity(1),8&6] Should I activate the Mountain Stars and apply the elemental cure here as suggested, although there are my [Chen 3] inauspicious sectors? Question 8: For West[Very Auspicious(9), 9&5], the cure is Wood. The 8-1 combo depends on the star 5 and base star. What does that mean then? Question 9: In the FS Chart, there are a total of 4 sectors with Mountain Stars -- [good I supposed] 3 sectors with lousy 8-1 combo but with Triple Combo -- [good also I supposed] I don't see any total disaster sector in the chart. Is that normal? It seems to be a good chart, with all the Mountain Stars and Triple Combos. It does not seem to match my list of problems :( Kindly advice. Question 10: There are some money plants at my SE corner (according to the 8-??? theory). Is that bad, as the analysis says I should be using Metal to control the inauspicious Strong Wood star here? Many thanks and best regards, Rose
  13. Many thanks in advance. There is another piece of info I forgot to mention: As you would notice in the layout that the toilet door and the main entrance do lie on a straight line, I read in many FS materials that this is inauspicious. What we are doing is simply keep the toilet door (and the toilet bowl cover -- dunno whether that matters?) closed at all times, except when in used. We also keep the toilet light on at all times, never switched off. Dear Rose, We have received your e-mail with the attachment, and will get back to you privately, as there is also a great deal of information for us to analyse. Warmest Regards Robert Lee
  14. I gathered from the 4-Pillar report that elements have different strength in different seasons. Q1. As for a Strong Fire person, does it mean that Lunar months 1-6 (Spring & Summer) will be less auspicious compared to Lunar months 7-12 (Autumn & Winter), as Fire is strong in Spring/Summer and weak in Autumn/Winter? Does that also hold true for people born and live in tropical countries? Q2. As there are 5 elements but only 4 seasons: Fire is strongest in Summer, Wood is strongest in Spring, Earth is strongest in Autumn, and Water is strongest in Winter (right? I came up with this with only common sense) What happen to Metal then? Does Metal dominate any season? Thanks and regards, Rose
  15. Dear Cecil & Robert, Attached is the layout of my studio unit (provided by employer) located on the 21st floor of a 24-floor residential complex. The layout is saved as a Word document. Additional information: 1. There is a Snoopy jigsaw puzzle painting with the scenery of sea and pool view hanging on the East wall of my (Rose) bed. I am a Chen (3) of Strong Fire. 2. There is a Mickey & Mini flying in the space jigsaw puzzle painting hanging on the East wall (same wall) of JY's (my roommate) bed. JY is a Gen (8) of Strong Fire. 3. There is another pottery painting with country side scenery hanging on the wall between the bathroom and the computer. 4. We have both done the paid 4-Pillar reports with Geomancy-Online. You could access them easily under my account. 5. This is the place we spend most of our time in. Major activities, besides sleeping, are watching TV / VCDs, playing computer games, internet surfing, reading and etc. Only once in a while would we have meals in the room. Essentially this is the place we live, except when we are on leave and go back to hometown. My roommate and I are close to each other, but we find ourselves quarrelling quite a lot over small matters (both Strong Fire?). Although it does not hurt our relationship, it is still unpleasant at times. We would like to seek your advice to 1. Resolve our conflicts 2. I belong to the East group while she belongs to the West group. I believe that the unit is more suitable for me and thus not suitable for her. I have done my best to advice her to sleep with her head pointing to the West. Anything else I could do to help her? 3. Both of us seem to have little romance luck -- we can't seem to meet the right guy :( and we always meet those guys who like us but we have no feelings for :( Is there something wrong with the room? 4. After my own learning here and there in Feng Shui, I have tried to enhance my Wealth luck through the Money plants and Fish Tank at the South East, and more plants on the round table on the South. It does not seem to work that effective though. We both especially find ourselves in the situation of lending people considerable amount of money and having difficulties collecting the loans. Kindly advice. Thanks a lot and best regards, Rose (File attachment removed)
  16. I understand that compass directions are associated with the elements also, eg. North for Water, South for Fire, and etc. I read in some books / tips that say 1. place an aquarium at North (for career / prosperity (?)) 2. place plants at East and South East (for wealth / prosperity (?)) 3. place a lamp at South (for fame) I believe that is to activate the respective corners. However, I don't understand why South (or Fire) is associated with Fame, South East (or Wood) is with Wealth, North (or Water) is with Career, and etc. Isn't that too general, as it does not take into account of our personal auspicious directions (based on the Kua #)? Thanks and regards, Rose
  17. 1. The hexagram is brgds, Rose
  18. I understand that it is difficult to achieve true equilibrium of the 5 elements. Q1. Are there any symptoms or signs or behaviour that could assist us to analyse whether we are in excess of or lacking certain element (besides knowing our true birth element and its strength)? i.e. someone who is very angry has excess Fire; someone who has financial problems is lacking metal (or water), etc. Q2. I am thinking that whether these elements directly affect compatibility of people. For examples, a couple of both Strong Fire always argue with each other, a person of Weak Earth will get along very well with that of Strong Fire, and etc. Does that make sense? Rose
  19. I noticed that there is a hexagram made up of 3 yin lines (upper half) and 3 yang lines (bottom half) on the upper left corner of the Geomancy-online webpage. What does the hexagram represent? (Must be something auspicious enough that you would have it there :) Is there any reference on the internet regarding the explanation of all the I-ching hexagrams? brgds, Rose
  20. G'day Cecil & Robert, I am intrigued by the Ten Deities portion of the Pillars report and wish to know more about what each deity mean. I understand that it will be enhanced later in separate modules. Could you at least provide an introduction of the ten deities to help us to analyze it ourselves? Many thanks. Rose
  21. G'day, I believe I understand the basics of the 5 elements, the production / destruction cycles and all that. I am still confused about the applications of the cures. FYI, I am focusing on balancing my Strong Fire and I understand that Water, Metal and Earth are useful to me. I am confused about these: 1. Water destroys Fire. Water also produces Wood that produces Fire. So, how can one tell whether the water-cure applied is actually destroying Fire or producing Wood? I mean, is there a precedence in this (e.g. Water would destroy Fire first and only the excess water would produce Wood) ? 2. Metal produces Water that destroys Fire. Metal in turn is also destroyed by Fire. So, how does this cure work? How could one know the Metal would produces Water (and destroys Fire) before itself being destroyed by Fire? 3. Earth balances Fire through exhausting it. Earth also produces Metal that is destroyed by Fire. If Earth, Metal and Fire all exist, what will happen? Fire produces Earth; Earth produces Metal; Fire also destroys Metal. 4. Applications of the cures: With Water: black/grey/blue clothing, water scenery painting, etc With Metal: jewelry, white/silver clothing, etc With Earth: What should be done to exhaust the Fire to produce Earth? 5. Are Jade and other precious stones (Diamond, Ruby, Sapphire, Crystals, etc) considered Earth? I understand that because of Symbolism, a pyramid crystal is considered Fire. With these questions, I hope that you could understand what I am confused about. Kindly enlighten. TQ. Rose
  22. I read in my Pillars report that I was born with 2 wealth deities (1 Earned Wealth and 1 Unexpected Wealth). And the report then says as I am Strong FIRE, it is auspicious for me. I am confused here. As I understand that Metal is the element representing these deities, and Fire destroys Metal, why is that it is AUSPICIOUS for me being a strong FIRE? Many thanks.

    Year 2000

In the I.T. industry, experts anticipate chaos as the year cross over to 2000, specifically on 31st December 1999. From the Geomancy point of view, is this day a chaotic / disaster day? I remember reading an article on Titanic. The Feng Shui si-fu computed the date on which Titanic sank and the birthdates of the key people on the ship. Interesting. Has anyone seen a similar article on Y2K issue?
  24. Which school in geomancy talks about 1. which industry is suitable for an individual (I believe this has something to do with the 5-elements) 2. how many offsprings one will have 3. at what age one will get married I am not sure whether this has to do with geomancy or it belongs to "fortune telling" which is a totally different thing? Thanks.
