Many of these flower pots once graced mansions all over Singapore. In the 1950's many own freehold bungalow homes that were at least 10,000 sq feet or above. Today, you are lucky if you are leasing a 99 year old apartment. Some of these flower pots were as old as the 1940's or 74 years old or more...

99 year leasehold properties : be it a condo unit or a HDB flat. Plus not next to or walking distance to an MRT station. Ouch! It hurts!

Just imagine, deep inside the central pavilion @ Boon Lay Meadows; one can literally see many units/stacks. If I can see the units/stacks; they can also peer into it. Such central pavilions are often venues for wakes/funeral parlours. Not that I am against it; but having such a central pavilion can have it's disadvantage... especially on auspicious occasions.. like Chinese New Year etc...

As mentioned; previously; based on common sense; the test is whether a run-away car can slam into a home / gate or garden... In this example; it might be possible for both homes: marked in red = A and/or marked in purple = B. In doubt; avoid purchasing such homes.

This graffiti is not your regular "Grandmother's road" type of graffiti. For one, it is officially sanctioned and approved! So no one will go to jail or caned for vandalism of a void deck...

So this is where they keep the (circular) bins that were placed outside open areas of HDB blocks for residents to burn incense-joss papers and joss sticks...

Sprucing up homes and buying new to replace the old or removing clutter is a sure sign that Chinese New Year (CNY) 2014 is coming... shortly...

Saw this, the other day at Prive @ Punggol. This is another consideration if one is considering purchasing a ground floor unit with an open PES area. It is common for cigarette butts and other items to be thrown down. On occasions even little ones from upper floors unintentionally throw down their toys or even AAA sized batteries..

Many times in the past, whenever I am at Compass Point Shopping Centre; nearly scraped/brushed my ankle (leg) against the sharp edges of the plant pot. In fact, on a few occasions; when it is crowded and when tried to side-step other pedestrians had brushed my legs against it. Ouch!

Thanks for your sketch. As mentioned, previously; this has more to do with common sense then Feng Shui. For example; if there is a fire at the stove area; and since it is sharing the same wall as the "exit' stairs; don't want to have a flash fire at that location nor smoke coming out of that area...

Location: United Square. One glance and one could be mistaken that this is A TOILET meant for every person found on the sign! One toilet FITS all! How about that? Take a look at these signages: it is bound to confuse people wanting to go to the toilet(s)...

Some of the basins are placed so low; plus the wash tap looks like a water "spray"... One could be mistaken them for a child's / men's urinal.... bowl...

The advantage of such a fence is that it allows air to circulate into the home compound. Landscaping can incorporate plants to further add privacy to the interior compound. And it does look lovely.. with the circular twirls...

How can dustbins brighten one's day? Especially for a child?

Boon Lay Meadow's central pavilion is similar to Sky Peak BTO's as it is centrally located and is visible to many stacks in 180A, 180B and 180C. This is a special concern if a wake is carried out.. and e.g. on an auspicious occasion like Chinese New Year. (Apologies... some of the photos are not rotated.. side-ways)

An altar should not face inwards towards the "living quarters" (be it a toilet or bedroom(s) or even having a "view" of the kitchen. In the attachment; locations marked in red "X" are a No, no.

1. IDEALLY, an altar should not "face-into" the "living quarters". 2. The altar can, like what you mentioned earlier; face towards the main door. 3. Why? "IT" should not be looking into "human activities" be it bathing or doing some sort of "business" on the bed/ under the bed etc.. etc.... 4. This is the "RED Eye" effect. Else, if one places e.g. the Goddess of Mercy; you may have to get her a Rayban sunglass to cover that "red" eye. 5. Just visualisemy earlier purple markings "B" and "C". B and C are like guard posts outside a Minister's landed property home. 5.1. These guard posts don't ever face-into the home. They face OUTWARDS. 5.2. It is just like when you pass the guard-room into your passage-way; the guard(s) will stand at attention! Got it? Get it?
