These are some of the considerations:- 1. Location, location and location Shapes and Forms Feng Shui is very important. And this thing about: location, location and location has the highest weigtage than say a west or north house. 2. Unfortunately, it is difficult to comment your statement without a bigger picture: the environment, the site, the home or building. 3. And equally critical are the issues of the interior layout of the home! For example, what is the use of a west or north home if the sector of the bedrooms and mum's bedroom is located. 4. For example, even if the west home is good, but if one plots a proper flying star and there are lots of #5 and or #2 and or with #9; then it is just as bad. 5. Like an earlier posting; where original issue could be a home at the "T-junction". But, in essence, a greater concern could be a petrol station which is less than 1 km radius of that home. 6. Thus, again, unfortunately, your question is like: might as well flip a coin: heads or tails. Without indepth information; the advice is akin to G.I.G.O. Garbage in garbage out...

1. Well all the very best in your house hunting! 2. Franky, most of what I had mentioned has more to do with commonsense. And many of the Feng Shui concepts is based largely on commonsense. Just that many don't link commonsense with FS. 3. In my personal opinion, it is good that you have second thoughts. As originally, on the surface, the main concern is about a simple subject: House at a T-junction. 4. But what really, really worries me is the fumes from the petrol station. IT MAY or may not affect your home. But, can never know how the wind carries the vapours. As petrol is light, it definitely can leak and may be cancerous. While diesel is heavier and less of a concern. 5. Personally, after thorough look, I am rather fearful of living close on the ground level and pretty nearby to the petrol station. As one can never compromise on health - prevention is better than "cure".

GOOD NEWS! I have now kicked my addiction to rubber glue. As we have now moved into a new home. The further excellent news is that the petrol smells so nice! I love this new home! Let's hope the wind always brings this nice smell into our home! Ain't it great to live near a petrol station! WE LOVE THIS NEW HOME!

Hey! GUYS! You only visit me! My family and myself have to stay here! Don't be like that! Why so unfriendly! Wear masks?

Have taken a closer look at the googlemap:- 1. As there is a curve (in purple) which is good as it helps to slow down any vehicle; while the straight path is also a shorter distance; this is favourable; vs a long straight path where any moving object can accelerate to max speed. In this case, only high performance cars have such a power or force. 2. Furthermore, can really see the wall or boundary of the home. Thus, in my opinion, the so called House at T-junction issue is not the most important concern. 3. Again, I am more truly concerned about tailwind fumes from the petrol station.
-
These are further considerations:- 1. From the google map, the shopping centre is not a threat. 2. From your first picture, it does not shown any external boundary walls if any nor the high ground or high ground with any ditch or drainage that may directly stop a moving object in it's track before, it ploughs into a home. (This is rare but this is fundamentally one of the cornerstones in the concept that a home at a T-junction is inauspicious besides; the sha qi (movement of air/wind) of a house at such a location. 3. I am more concerned about the home very close to the petrol station. More so, about the fumes rising from say the storage tanks below ground and thru topping up the tanks via tankers and even people pumping fuel. If there is a tailwind towards plot 18; sniffing fumes can in a prolonged situation cause sickness and sometimes cancerous. 4. Thus, overall, I am more scared of Para 3 than Para 2, above. Note: For those who are posting images; always remember: Source & Credit: to so and so... please

Further to what I had mentioned; earlier we were looking at MICRO Feng Shui or simply a 2 Dimensional look at any threats (a run-away moving object in a straight-line) or opportunities (high ground & surrounding wall). We must equally apply Shapes and Forms Feng Shui via enviromental scanning using the top-view or helicopter approach. The Helicopter view; shows three major considerations so far:- 1. A rectangular plot of land. This plot 18 is rectangular thus a plus point. But be cautious, here. We have not seen any drainage behind the home if any. If so, drainage is another consideration be it behind or for a corner home; beside the home and how it drains out of the home into this larger drain. 2. Profile of the home. Looks odd shaped (either missing corner(s) or protrusions). 3. Another more critical issue is: Does the corner of the Shopping centre pose a threat in terms of a poison arrow aimed towards plot 18? 3.1 If so, lets "forget" about the runaway car etc.. as this could even be more of a major concern - if so for this plot 18, first! See attachment. 3.2 However, from your illustration, if there is a row of trees that shades or masks the corner of the Shopping centre aimed towards plot 18 or maybe 20; then the issue of such a poison arrow is negated or neutralised. 4. Another consideration is the petrol station. 4.1 Have to be extra careful especially of the fumes and wind that may blow the vapours towards the home. (Cancer causing). 4.2 A petrol station in flames is another REMOTE consideration. : On 10/13/2010 8:29:27 AM, Cecil Lee wrote:

1. Thanks for the excellent sketch! 2. The key concept behind a home at a "T-junction" is always the rare probability of a "run-away" vehicle travelling in a straight line. 2.1. Most of the time such a run away vehicle is often caused by either an intoxicated driver and rarely a case where the car cannot stop. 2.2. Thus, in past forum messages, I had mentioned; another critical consideration is which country is one ini.e. right hand or left hand drive. 2.3. Next, is we use some imagination to figure out whether a regular car travelling along it's proper land ploughs straight ahead. 2.4. In you illustration; it is good to know that under Para 2.3. the car would instead plough into the front wall of the home. As the opposite arrow is directly away from the main gate of the home. Thus, not so bad. 2.5. What is often worst is to travel a straight-line and meet the gate of the home and subsequently; 2.6. From your picture, it looks like there is a solid wall at the frontage. And hoepfully, this would be able to stop any runaway vehicle and contain it at it's tracks (hopefully). PLUS the HIGH GROUND is an additional good advantage. 3. The above is the chain of effects that lead to the main purpose of why it is (commonsense) to avoid a home at a "T-Junction". 4. Thus other plus factors include; the bigger the compound the better; where is the windows and main door located in relation to the "t-junction". 5. The other factor is sha qi or poison arrow. For example, again it depends on whether is this an estate access road or a busy road. And how long the straight path is towards the home. And even things like whether there is a hump to slow down cars on that road. These are some other factors to be considered. 6. In general, I am sure, some of us have seen worst homes at a "t-junction" than what you had sketched out. Thus if properly "done" and if there are no other homes to consider; then this one is (not the best) but neither is it at the bottom list of a so called home at a "t-junction".

Here are several considerations:- 1. The Jolly Wolly... scenario If one seeks the counsel of a Geomancer, be ready to heed any advice provided. 2. If not? Then seek another paid second opinion. 3. Frequently, consult with your friends to determine if they have ever received advice from a particular geomancer... (if feasible) prior to obtaining guidance from a specific geomancer. 4. This post falls under the category of caricature: please refer to the attachment.

OLD CHINESE TALE says:- Don't care where you are concieved; but rather, don't ever move the matrimonial bed, during pregnancy.

1. The most recent reply to similar question as yours:- 2. How To Determine Facing Of HDB Flat? http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=6&mid=28386&new= 3. And also, there are already, tons and tons of materials on this subject matter. 4. Use the search feature on the top left frame of this forum for simple search lines like: " House facing" or "facing direction". 5. Never post a paragraph and ask me, right there and then to propose a "correct" facing direction. Here, I strongly recommend; toss a coin.

Further to what I had mentioned; these are some other considerations:- 1. In many instances; the colour of the exterior walls is dependent on external factors. 1.1. For example, in past forum messages; someone mentioned that his/her home is next to a cemetry. 1.2. In such a situation; often, a geomancer would recommend RED colour as the most yang colour on the walls facing the cemetry. Some cleverly use "natural" red brick walls that never need to be painted over. 2. Thus the above is a sterling example of the colour of the exterior of the wall has to be looked at in relation to the surrounding. 3. Myths:- 3.1. In the 1960s to 1980's and even today; some geomancers unfortunately still link the rudimentary concept of North = water; South = fire; Eart = green; West = white etc.. and thus if the home is facing North; the geomancer would recommend painting the home blue in accordance with such things. 3.2. However, this type of practise today is considered as Kindergarten type of Feng Shui. It is like the question listing the entire kua numbers of every Tom, Dick, Harry in the home. And then; tell me what colour to paint the home. 4. At the exterior of the home; so what if the home is facing say 60 degrees .. or 65 degrees etc... again; under Para 1; Shapes and Forms reign supreme. One has to consider the exterior profiles of the neighbourhood, first. And not work the exterior around the Flying Star chart. 5. Thus if one is not sure; the safest colour is white, white, white. (While for beige; refer to my earlier message on it's significance under Period 8).
-
These are some of the considerations:- 1. What colour is the roof? 1.1. For example the roof tiles colour and best recommended colour(s):- 1.1.1 Clay tiles or orange roof = external walls colours can be just any colour range from white, beige to another other pastel colours 1.1.2 Grey roof tiles = best is white 1.1.3 Blue roof tiles = best is white 1.1.4 Green roof tiles = white or beige 2. In fact, when one tries to build a new home from scratch; it is about scanning the nearby environment to build a home that may "tower" over the rest of the other homes. 2.1 Thus, if majority of homes next to or opposite one's home has (just as an example) has dome shaped roof or a circular building; then one can develop one's home in a "fire element" shape. Here, fire destroys metal to create wealth. Ref: http://www.geomancy.net/talknotes/talknotes.htm 2.2 Similarly, if mosf the homes nearby are rectangular in shape (earth element) then a home that is shaped in the element of say the wood element would be beneficial. 3. Thus, even if one wants to paint the home; scanning the neighbourhood; neighbour's homes and then determining the colour. 3.1. And for the exterior of the home; it is not so simplistic like my kua is, my husband's is and my children's are... this or that. Logically even if you furnish we the whole family or we call this Tom, Dick or Harry's gua number what is the use? 3.2. Since there is many family members with different kua or gua; more likely colour for say youngest son is different from husband and other family members? Then How? You want to paint your exterior in rainbow colours? 4. For painting of exterior; often it goes under Para 1 and Para 2 above. Not so much of what kua number one is. If the entire building has 100 tenants. So, what colour you want the exterior to be painted. 5. Most general neutral colour is : White. But under this Period 8; 2004 to 2023; in general again a good neutral colour is : beige or commonly known as barley white. While for colours like green, pink or violet or blue; this has to be studied in relation to near-by home features and their colours.

- I have read that having a water element at the right side of the main door looking from the inside to the outside would make people prone to have an affair. Even though this is not the case, is this true? In my opinion, it depends. One major consideration is the flying star #3 and even the 81 combinations of mountain and water star. Thus it cannot be like one question fits all answers. Need to do some homework plus actual site readings. Not just looking at at 2D model and presto, the answer!

This subject comes under Chinese customs and beliefs. For example, the Chinese don't care where you make love or first produce the baby. For example, the baby can be inseminated on a playground swing or in the back of a car or even in a toilet. However, what matters most is the "matrimonial bed". Here, as mentioned earlier, making babies can be elsewhere or even on that bed; but to the Chinese; any movement especially of the bed is inauspicious. As it could or may imply unsuccessful pregnancy. My sister is currently pregnant with her 1st child. She and her husband have no choice but to move out of their current loft to another location because their landlord is selling the place. I have a few concerns that I need advice on:1)What can be done to counter the possible negative feng shui due to this unavoidable circumstance?2) Will it help if she is not around during the move?3) She does not want her current bed and intends on getting a new bed for the new place. What can be done about this?Any other advice on this will be very much appreciated. Thanks much!!

Frankly, I just answered a very detailed guideline into this subject matter. Just check a few messages posted a few days ago. In addition, use the search feature or I had also recently posted the attachment. Posting a few lines does not help in identifying the facing direction, please!

Sorry your question is very general. These are some considerations;- 1. Is the tree inside a home or outside of a home? 2. Under symbolism in Feng Shui, a Christmas tree is like an "UP" arrow. To some it looks like progress. 3. Many Christmas trees need little or no maintenance. For example, the bougainvillea needs constant trimming and depending on it's species many of it's species have nail hard torns - unlike soft "needles" of a Christmas tree. 4. Under Flying Star Feng Shui; one has to be more carefull of sectors with star #3 and often a tree (or any other tree) is not favourable. 5. If Christmas trees are potted; it does not grow too large or too tall. Even if it grows quite tall; it is not as imposing as a matured Mango tree which can extend its foliage very wide; making the area below it very very yin or dark. Of course a Christmas tree grown on the grown can equally mature but in my opinion far less "real estate" space taken than say a mango or rambutan tree or a chiku tree (locally)

4. Is thereany concernif a bedroom door face a storage door? The stuff inside the storage are used/unused toys, linens, pots, dinnerware, and the like. Please see sketch 2. ANS: The concept of symbolism in Feng Shui. Under symbolism; best not to see things like "toy knifes / guns". And any other sharp objects facing the bedroom. 5. How about a master's bedroom door facing the door to the open deck? Is this an issue? Please see sketch 2. ANS: The concept of "coffin position" i.e. avoid legs facing bedroom door or an opening such an opening say towards an open deck. Or for some homes that have external wall that is made of glass; avoid legs facing towards "such an opening". 6. Reading about poison arrows coming from pillars and room corners, can we avoid this by having the corners rounded during construction ? ANS: Feng Shui cannot be done by remote control. Thus, if one does not say there or in a specific room even if the rooms have sha qi or poison arrows or beams; then no issue. ANS: Thus e.g. if one does not sleep below a beam for 2 hours per day per year; no issue. ANS: sha qi from a concrete wall; in my opinion can have a poison arrow of around 1 meter distance. For softer corners e.g. of a wooden cabinet; it can be only around 1 1/2 to 2 feet depending on the material it is made of e.g. hardwood; softwood; particle board etc...

This question has been reviewed many times in the past. And again, the concept is the same it is based on Commonsense approach to Feng Shui:- 3. The door of the toilet/ powder room faces the dining table. But what is immediatley seen when the door is open is the lavatory/sink and not the toilet. Is this a concern? Please see sketch 1. ANS: This topic especially the concern of a toilet bowl can be read under the url:- UNDER TOPIC 2/4 OF THIS LINK:-http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=27452&new= And more:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=27449&new=

Please see reply, below:- 1. I read that the toilet should not be above the stove. Is this also applicable to the shower area above a stove? A1 This has a basis based on Commonsense or we also can call it cow-sense Feng Shui. A2 What is the MORE crucial issue? A3 Here, the most crucial issue are the "waste pipes" such as the drainage pipes "STICKING" out directly below a drainage pipe. As all homes have drainage pipes; and many of these drainage pipes are linked or glued together plus there are some pipes e.g. U shaped etc.. that can allow one to unclog it. A4 THESE are the pipes that we are more concerned of! A5 As off-chance there may be a likelyhood that these pipes may:- A5.1Leak.Imagine if it leaks and these materials can just flow downwards to the utencils and/or food that we are just cookingetc... A5.2 Imagine one dayif the drainage getsclogged; someone has to stand aroundandopen the cap to clear the clog. If the materialagain flows down towards the"fixed" stove... A6. Usually, in a proper toilet; it should have water proofing.Although it is nice never to have a toilet of sorts above the stove; but if really no choice; then other thanthe concern of the pipes; the standing area say in a shower if it is immediately above the stove is generallybetter than the pipes above it. 2. Is it bad to have a stove facing the wall of the toilet/powder room? Pleasesee sketch 1. A7. Again this is another cow-sense question. If it is just a wall no major issue. BUT if there are:- A7.1 A toilet bowl sharing this same wall; then hopefully the sewerage pipe is not next to the stove. This is considered inauspicious. A7.2 Usually a stove heats up things close-by. So, we also don't want to have water pipes running close-by. For example if the wash basin is sharing the wall with the stove; if say the cold water pipe gets heated up.. I know, you get free hot water; but unexpectedly a child or even adult can be scalded by the hot water. A7.3 In Feng Shui; it is considered inauspicious to run water pipes close to the stove - other than A7.2. Considered inauspicious as water and fire are "together".
