  1. Bronze tripods were found as early as 2000BC. The three feet of the tripod is said to represent the three senior members of the Emperor's inner circle. This tripod is in the form of the legs of storks.
  2. 1. These are my reflections on the matter: once a person has been cremated, everything changes and becomes neutral. 2. For instance, when a person is buried, the Chinese believe it is very auspicious to bury them in a favorable location and facing a certain direction. It is believed that a good burial site and good Feng Shui can bring luck to future generations of the family. 3. Therefore, this is likely why most people advise against prematurely removing the coffin and cremating a loved one unless there is no other choice. 4. Historically, many burial sites were indeed very auspicious. Well-known auspicious burial sites include the current Orchard MRT grounds (facing the Tangs-Marriot hotel), Bishan park/area, and the Teochew burial grounds (formerly in Yishun). 5. Once a person is cremated, in my view, as I mentioned earlier, it becomes neutral and it no longer matters whether the urn is placed high or low. Some even scatter the ashes into the sea. 6. The selection of a higher niche or facing direction of the niche is more psychological than anything else. More importantly, family members and close relatives must all agree with it. For example, if the youngest son or daughter wants to cremate the father but other close relatives refuse, it's better not to do it. 7. The idea of "if it ain't broken, don't fix it" applies. For example, what happens if the body is in partial decay? In fact, to exhume a grave, experienced grave diggers have certain rituals to perform. For example, during the day, they would place a piece of canvas between "heaven and earth" when they need to expose the body. 8. Many niches nowadays can hold two or three urns, or if new, one can always buy niches several levels high or low or side-by-side.
  3. It was a pity that especially during the cultural revolution years; many people, literally carve graffiti onto the individual bricks of the great wall. Some even use knifes and sharp objects to carve very deep markings on these bricks. Take a look at some of the sample photos... A real pity... fortunately, today... this is not allowed...
  4. The Lama Temple or Yonghegong Lamasery: The Lamasery of Harmony and Peace was originally built by the order of Emperor Kangxi in 1694 and completed as a Lamasery in 1744, during the ninth year of Emperor Qianlong's reign. This temple has a 18 metre high statue of Maitreyathat made from a single piece of sandalwood. The following pictures shows a beautiful fruitingpersimmon tree in the grounds of the Lama Temple.
  5. Singapore is famous for all sorts of fines: Speeding over street limit; Eating in MRT Trains; Spitting; Littering; Using handphone in a moving vehicle and lots more.... In China, it can be the traffic jams and worse-off; try crossing a road when the "GREEN PEDESTRIAN MAN" is on... total nightmare!
  6. You may want to go thru this link especially the part about: How one can boost one's Human Luck. http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=26690 In essence: some of us may not have luck from heaven (ie. no favourable ba zi luck) and also no auspicious Feng Shui luck? How? Make an effort to lead a fruitful life: eg. filial piety to parents; provide a greater listening ear to family members and colleagues .....
  7. Further to what I had mentioned; 1. the key success factor is to fine tune towards one's home or office Feng Shui. 2. Best to analyse each 20 Year Flying Star chart of any sector in relation to especially the yearly stars. Some even go as far as looking at the monthly stars: especially nothing "problem areas". 2.1 For example, if we already are concerned with a particular sector e.g. East where there are MS #5 with WS#9 with Base #5; then in that year, if the #5 fell into that sector and other nasty stars e.g. #5 or #2 or even fire #9 falls into that sector : which is a bedroom then take greater preventive measures. 1. Avoid / get rid of back stabber (xiao ren) Under Flying Star concept it is about disarming sectors with #3. And to note sectors with #4 As back stabbing is associated with such stars: #3 and/or #4. 2. Activate peach blossom luck (tao hua) Frankly, this depends on the 81 combinations of Mountain Star reacting with Water star. And some Flying Star charts do have this while others may not have this "Peach blossom luck". 3. Activate gui ren luck It is often associated with Pian Cai or the Mountain star(s): #8 for current prosperity; #9 for future prosperity and #1 for future future prosperity. 4. Activate wealth luck (zheng cai) Zhen Cai are based on Water Stars : #8 for current prosperity; #9 for future prosperity and #1 for future future prosperity. 5. Frankly, for success, it is always looking at the relationships of the 20 year flying star with that year's flying star numbers. 6. Again, all these comes down to the lowest common denominator: The Five Elements concept. 7. The link to next year's individual forecast is as follows:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/yearly-forecast/fortunes-2010.htm 8. Under the Holy trinity of luck:- 8.1. Feng Shui is about earth luck 8.2. Ba Zi is about heaven luck and some of us are pretty concerned about individual luck. 9. One way is to review one's Feng Shui; and not be too concerned about individual luck e.g. I am rabbit and to some... next year is "rabbit" me as I will be encountering the Tiger year 2010. 10. Another FREE key success factor to boost individual luck is to have good family bonding; form good relationships; filial piety for the young etc... As many find that they may not have Heaven luck nor too good a Feng Shui luck, but good family bonding etc.. helps to boost one's luck: Human Luck. Anonymous wrote: Dear Master, With year of the Tiger just around the corner, what advice do you have for : 1. Avoid / get rid of back stabber (xiao ren) 2. Activate peach blossom luck (tao hua) 3. Activate gui ren luck 4. Activate wealth luck (zheng cai) Thank you
  8. 1. In my opinion, what you mentioned should be further fine tuned. 2. And the best approach is to relate to the Yearly Flying Star Feng Shui. One can even relate it to the monthly Flying Star - if one really wants to do so. 3. For example, in the attachment, #3 is located at the South and #4 is located at the North. Thus, especially homes that are facing South and sitting North or vice-versa for next year has to be more careful with quarrels, conflicts and even law suits. 3. As #3 = quarrels, conflics and scandals. #4 has also such effects. And again, often, the 20 Year Flying star is looked at with these stars to derive a proper cure. For other homes or apartments with such a facing direction, check where such stars land. Often, fire can be used to disarm these stars e.g. turn on an energy saving "red" lamp (Yang cure) or use red in that sector (yin cure). 4. Likewise, check where stars like #5 will be at SW sector, next year. Again this no rocket science, again check the 20 Year flying star with the year star and apply appropriate cure. 5. In addition, treat and review stars #2 (sickness at North East next year ) #7 (SE) theft and robber stars accordingly with the 20 year fly star of that sector. 6. #8 next year falls at the centrepoint and in general it would be wasted as a water star. Again the 20 Year Flying Star numbers should be evaluated with this #8. 7. Depending on West sector #1 may be able to be activated as this is the future prosperity star. Likewise with #9. 8. The key success is as mentioned : to review each sector's 20 Year Flying Star with the Year star. 9. Better still if one can obtain a chart (see attachment) : Yearly Flying Star analysis.pdf which even gives one the monthly flying star numbers.
  9. This pair of semi-red jade pair of Lion statues are destined for the frontage of either a commercial building or business or even a tradional Chinese restaurant. As usual; to the right is the Male lion who is playing with a ball of silk. While to the left of the picture; the Female is caressing a small baby lion. All figurines placed at buidlings should if possible be smiling; prosperous looking... not under nurished...
  10. Jade carving of a pride of lions
  11. Nine Dragons playing with a pearl carving: In China, the dragon is the symbol of power, dignity and auspiciousness. And a flaming pearl means that the country is prosperous. Nine dragons playing the pearl implies that the entire country is forever supreme and prosperious.
  12. Raw materials and work in progress items...
  13. More lovely large jade items...
  14. These are some of the large jade carvings. Many of these jade carvings are huge and may take several months to several years of labour / work.
  15. In my opinion, NW should be worse-off: as generally it affects the career of the male-head of the home and also no "heaven luck" or poor luck. The saying goes "it is the lesser of the two evils". Kenny L. wrote: Hi Master Cecil, I'm a bit confused. Which is more serious? Kitchen in SW or in NW?
  16. Especially in Singapore, these are some considerations as to whether to use the apartment number report or not (if one does not have it on the fly):- 1. I am waiting for my ballot number before selecting my flat. And unfortunately, my ballot number is way way behind... i.e. by the time I try to book a flat... most likely... most of those flats that I could have selected have already being "sold". 2. I could not buy at the soft-launch of a condominium.. and there limited units in each stack left. So how? If one is or will be faced with any of these considerations, just forget about the Apartment number report and quickly secure a good "facing direction" unit. The Hokkien saying: Got fish, got prawns... can already, lah!" = "Woo hoo, woo hay ah ho."
  17. 1. One may still consider the 2nd choice: NE. 2. As mentioned in several of the messages; SW is "top ranking" but afternoon sun. NE is the 2nd best choice. As the word says: the fact is2nd choice is still 2nd choice - morning sun. 3. Frankly, what else? Unless one is going to do a full audit: Consider buying or not buying it: that's all. Or the saying goes: too bad.. it got away from me. 4. Please note that apartment number report: is considered "NICE-to-have" and not a "MUST-have". Or unlike Seetho of Makan Sutra: "don't need to die-die must have good number". 5. As far as overall MACRO Feng Shui goes... this is as far as the Feng Shui advice can go. And really after this: it is decision time. Yes / No / forget it? Kenny L. wrote: Hi Master Cecil, A question. Let's say after narrowing down the SW facing block units with balcony in SW, what's next? Is it important to select the unit based on auspicious unit number generated report?
  18. Check out this caricature... http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=29&mid=6020&new= As mentioned in one of the past forum messages.. the phonetic sound of shoes is considered inauspicious for the Chinese. Much like it is considered inauspicious to give another Chinese a clock or bell. This is purely based on Customs and beliefs...
  19. 1. Many of the letter boxes in Singapore public housing i.e. Housing & Development Board Flats have letter boxes that have sealed openings to prevent outsiders from placing especially flyers into these letter boxes. 2. Only the postman is suppose to have the master key to unlock the back of all letter boxes to allow him to post letters into individual letter boxes. 3. During one of the nights, "caught" this lady (on camera) inserting fliers into letter boxes. She uses a ruler to try to push or force open the letter box lid. Here, I believe she is paid by someone to help insert their flyers. 4. How do you call this? Vandalism?? Or is she doing a decent job? 5. Look at how, some of these letter box had openings that were badly forced opened from the front....
  20. 1. In the picture, the home marked in yellow: Number 2 is lower than it's neighbours: Number 1 and 2. 2. Usually, a lower home sandwiched between two higher homes is considered to have poorer Feng Shui. However, this home marked Number 2 (in yellow) has lots of open space: thus overall, helps greatly in it's Feng Shui.
  21. 1. Frankly, those house hunting this period is "luckier" than those house hunting during 2001 to 2003. As if those purchasing such a home during that period would have to consider the qi of the home in Period 7 (1984 to 2003) and then figure out where the home is good for Period 8. 2. Thus, during those period, I would have to make an effort to study e.g. the Flying Star charts for both periods. And I was lucky to find a home that has very auspicious double #8's at the frontage and under Period 8; have a good water feature at SW - front of the home. 3. For those buying a home now; can easily try to aim for or concentrate buying a good home from now ...as 2023 is kinda of some time away. Thus, if one is only purchasing an apartment; may not really need to make a decision for the future "2023". But for those who purchase a landed property.. may be good to see what lies ahead from 2023. Many who can afford to purchase a landed property today.. are often 40 plus and may make the landed property their home. 4. For those buying a 99 leasehold home; today, frankly, don't need to crucially look at 2023 chart... at the immediate future... especially those in the 20 to 38 age range. Even if one wants to look at the charts; not that difficult also.
  22. Kenny L. wrote: Hi Master Cecil, I have done some drawing based on your advice. For Sky Ville, if one wants to choose SW facing, the kitchen is in the NE sector of the house. If one wants to choose NE facing, the kitchen is in the SW sector of the house. Can I safely say both are safe since the kitchen is not in NW sector of the house? 1. Yes, in general, what you had mentioned above is acceptable. 2. In addition, Flying Star SW 1 (202.5 to 217.4 degrees) and NE 1 22.5 to 37.4 degrees) where possible, the interior layout should where possible be as rectangular /square as possible and should have minimal missing corners to fully take advantage of fantastic wealth activation. 3. For Flying Star SW 2 / 3 and NE 2 / 3 : exceptionally good in the long term as it is suppose to "accumulate" wealth for future generations. For Sky Terrace, if it is SW facing, the kitchen is in NE sector and if it is NE facing, the kitchen is in SW sector. So I guess Sky Terrace is pretty safe since the kitchen is not in the NW sector. 4. It is also a pity that the kitchen IF especially the stove or toilet bowl is at SW sector. If possible, SW sector could be a bedroom. As a kitchen can also drown the "indirect wealth " of the apartment. Especially also if it is at storeroom. 5. The best layout plan should take advantage of the balcony directly at SW or the master bedroom or another bedroom. My best direction is N,S and SE. So I guess I have to look for a door that is these direction? 6. As mentioned previously, this development's stacks are facing NW, SW, NE and SE; only SE is considered "suitable" to you based on the eight house chart. But, SE apartments other than it's facing direction; other sectors have nasty stars. 7. If a development has South facing stacks; then it is more worthwhile for you to choose stacks facing SOUTH, first choice. As NE and SW are suppose to have the best qi under this period up to 2023; thus a east group person staying in a NE and SW apartment should not have any concerns as the Flying Star chart can elevate the earth luck (Feng Shui). 8. Thus, if one is an east group person and if the stack is facing North; I would frankly still advise choosing SW or NE facing; UNLESS there are SOUTH facing stacks - then I would choose South facing stack first. As for the East group persons, the first choice is still South; followed by East. Again East - may be affected by morning sun - if frontage is not blocked. 9. Frankly, there is no "perfect apartments" - if we try to buy it off a developer. Thus, if it is a developer selling apartments; I would just rush in to buy under this period especially apartments with #8 at the frontage be it double #8's or mountain star #8 or water star #8's ... P.S. If the balcony (or if there is one) and is located at SW, in most instancesjust activate a water feature, here. And frankly, no need to look at Feng Shui at all to prosper. However, this luck can only last from now till 2021 and it will wane until 2023. By that time; before this period; go seek some Feng Shui advice.
  23. 1. Please see attachment. 2. Marking in RED "A' is an actual beam. And in Chinese metaphyics, this beam can exert negative qi downards to the ground. 3. See marking GREEN "B". The overhead support has it's load transferred to the side wall. Thus, it should not be considered as a beam as defined under Para 2, above that caused sha qi. Note: While it is true that both marking A and B are supported by horiziontal support ceiling; marking B unlike A is also supported by vertical or side wall. And the main load is forced down towards the side-wall.
