  1. More pictures of the Spider Lily flower...
  2. This plant is quite common in Singapore, but always never placed directly at the frontage of the main entrance door. As each of the leave is pointed much like an Anglo Saxon knife blade. This plant comes from Zaire. It's family name is: Dracaenaceae. And it is commonly called: Variegated Snake Plant. This plant has a cousin, which is much harder to find in Singapore. The profile of it's leave are the same except that it's yellowish and greenish band of stripes is horizontal vs the vertical stripes found on the attached Snake plant. Worse still, this cousin is also called Snake plant but it has another tongue in cheek name: Mother-in-law Tongue. Another name is Bowsring.
  3. Under symbolism in Feng Shui:- 1.1. Avoid painting ceilings blue colour; 1.2. Avoid blue coloured roof tiles for landed property roof; 1.3. Avoid windows or doors using blue tinted glass or paste blue coloured sun-x film...
  4. Bills, bills, bills and more bills. Lawyer's demand letter; bankruptcy letter; lawsuits and more...
  5. 1. Please see attachment illustration. Under Shapes and Forms, the low commercial complex Blk 451 is symbolic of a butcher's knife i.e. it looks like an outline of a butcher's knife with handle and sharp edge. 2. The sharp edge happens to fall on part of Blk 454. Since the unit you are looking at is at third storey, it is around the same height as the Blk 451. (Thus can be affected by the Feng Shui.) 3. In particular, if one is doing business, then best to avoid the unit #03-xx Blk 454. 4. In addition, the building of 454 is along NW - SE direction and such apartments that were built between 1984 to 2003 would have "small luck" as water #8 is trapped in the middle of the home. And some afternoon sun. 5. Other than the above, living room of the unit is facing the busy Clementi Ave 3 road. 6. In my opinion, it is not the best unit.
  6. http://www.lovesigns.net/horoscope/amenu/amenu.htm For over 100 years, the orphanage was home to children from poor or broken homes as well as unwanted babies. The orphanage took in many Chinese baby girls born in the year of the tiger - " tiger girls " because of the strong superstitious belief that they would bring bad luck to their families. In 1963, the Mother Superior noted that this practice was stopped as there was a marked change in this supersitious belief. The Home of Abandoned Babies ceased finally in 1983 when the CHIJ Convent was relocated.
  7. Some people have no shame in using Feng Shui to sell useless commercial products that only enrich themselves.... When the buying stops; the selling can! Authentic Feng Shui is not about buying such products! Our grandparents time, parents time don't have such things.... who are these people kidding? You and me? Nah.... give them no chance to cheat us! Another thing.. is it true that you can buy anything from eBay? Yes/No??
  8. This is the way this lady interprets the Five Elements concept and is applying it closely..... A world's first! And erh! luckily, she is bald. Or is her baldness caused by all these? earlier.. when she used to die her hair a different colour each day? Nowadays, she wears a matching coloured wig each day....
  9. No worries, I don't mean that you are racist. Usually, in cosmopolitant Asia, we are discreet in bringing up such question(s). As does highlight differences between races. Frankly, although theseacademically can be classified under the Five Elements concept; it is "peanuts" if we consider other factorsor weigthage like a home with "quantum leap" in Feng Shuietc... Here in our culture we call it "Kachang puteh" application. (Smaller influence).
  10. How do I solve a problem that is out of my control? Do I call for help; or become physical? Which is a better solution? DIY?
  11. This plant can be grown under direct sunlight or under a shade. It loves wet weather and constant watering. It's common name: Spider Lily; indeed the white flower looks like a spider. It belongs to the Amaryllidaceae family. The plant and flower comes from the West Indies. However, this plant with white flowers are not popular with locals as they consider : white (white flowers) inauspicious. The Chinese and Singaporeans prefer brightly coloured flowers, instead.
  12. Wood (Green) helps fire to grow.... So must be good for a weak fire person, rite? While metal element can be gold or white or silver.. Guess what I chose for my hair, please!
  13. Frankly, such questions have never ever come - out. And such questions although can be innnocent; for me I don't mind such questions but there are some who .. may even stretch this question into racists. These are considered features of a person. Thus one cannot say just because one has black hair; it represents water element. One has red hair, fire element. One has blonde or golden hair .. metal element. Such things are in the realm of taboo questions. For example; try to associate most asians with yellow skin and then tell them (myself) included that since you "Asian" decendants have yellow skin, means that it is earth element. Then what happen if one is a dark skinned (dark brown) person? Hey! You remind me of say oak wood? etc..... Again, eyes : blue eyes, green eyes and brown eyes.... what to make of them... Frankly; in my country we learned to be tolerant of all races and ................ .... ... it does not matter if the hair is yellow; be it earth or metal element.... the Five element concept does not focus or zoom in into such things... there is however a first time.. and this is the first time... such things have brought up...good or bad I don't know... Such questions should be considered: peanuts or irrelevant to the Five Elements Concept. For example, one can easily dye one's hair into any colour: black can become brown, golden blonde can become brown or black etc.... British punks dye their colour green , blue and even stripes of red... Libby I. wrote: Is blond hair considered to be an earth element(yellow) or metal element(gold)?
  14. The family name of this type plant is: Dracaenaceae This family of plants require only medium watering, it can be placed under direct or in-direct sunlight. It's family can be distinguished by two tone colours which run parallel to its "spear" like leave. And it's family has spear like leaves that are: tall and thin to fat and broad to thin and short.... Another very hardy and easy to grow; pleasant to the eyes and minimal maintenance needed when grown in a garden.
  15. This variety of bougainvillea is called Mrs eva. There are several other pink/purplish ones: they are Singapore Pink, Mrs Eva Mauve Variegata and Formosa and Sakura Variegata...
  16. This is a very hardy fern. And often it is considered as a parasite plant as it can grow between the branches of a larger tree. This fern is widespread in both Tropica Africa and Asia and also found in many areas of the pacific. Needs little or no maintenance at all. Give it space, and it can grow into a large diameter of 1 metre all round...
  17. The common name of this plant: Lipstick Palm, Maharajah Palm, Sealing Wax Palm and Pinang Rajah. The terms Maharajah and Rajah denotes "royalty" in Malay. This is one of the most popular plants, planted in a landed property especially at the front fencing area - as it is very good at camouflage or provide a nice screen 'privacy' screen for a home. And because it's stem (trunk) is red in colour; red at the frontage of a Chinese home symbolises auspiciousness. Family name: Palmae Synonyms: C. lakka Origin of this plant: South East Asia.
  18. When the Yellow cane palm is grown on the ground and not in pots, it can grow relatively tall. Usually around 8 to 12 feet high. This is one of most popular cane trees ground all over in Singapore: Be it in pots or garden landscaping of condominiums, government housing estates etc.. Easy to maintain (leaves don't fall of so frequently). Only thing is that as it is a cane, it does not only have one single tree trunk but clusters of stems that span out...
  19. 1. Feng Shui is natural and influenced by qi from the earth (magnetism). 2. However, if one of these two things come into being:- 2.1. For some, when you enter a home and suddenly feel a sudden cold (mostly in dim areas) e.g. closet or attic area. 2.2. When one carry a compass and the compass needle goes hay-wire; 3. When a home has been possed; you can count out Feng Shui as such influences will superseed the Feng Shui of a place. Thus, under such circumstances, it is best to call for help from another field: especially priests. 4. The idea here is that Feng Shui can be over-ridden by other "stronger" forces beyond the natural! 5. For us Geomancer, usually once the instrument used to detect such things .. go hay wire... it is time to throw them away.. else.. will be afflicted by health issues. This is so called the "health hazard" of a normal geomancer. 6. In old homes; some hauntings may occur, especially when some start to do renovation works at the place where there spirits "live". And when disturbed; they will certainly come out and give the family a piece of their mind. 7. To avoid such any hauntings in a home: you must never play with a Weegee board or ouija kind of a board. What is this board? It is some like a cardboard where alphabets are imprinted on it. And a group of people e.g. 3 persons, place their finger on small cup. And call a "spirit" to answer their question. Usually the spirit will reply by moving the cup towards an alphabet. 8. There are known cases where, some people have played with it in their homes and subsequently for fear, burnt the board. Never, never burnt the board as once it is burnt after performing such "rituals"; it seems that the gateway is never "closed" and this gateway can lead to hauntings and what nots... 9. So remember, don't ever think of playing with such things! You may invited the wrong ... thing into your home!
  20. 1. Generally, the entire plot of land and building is rectangular under Shapes and forms is acceptable. 2. There is a high concentration of Catholic (buildings); Generally such buildings are considered "clean" compared to some temples etc... 3. Currently, the best facing directions within this development is NE or SW facing. There are also NW or SE facing which is not as good. 4. Majority of all developments have good and not so good units. Thus, one can apply Flying Star to futher fine tune the interior of the unit.
  21. For practical reasons, this is a last resort. So long as the stove is not on the opposite side of the wall, this is still ok. No issue with cabinets on the opposite side of the wall to store kitchen items. Anonymous wrote: Can the altar table share the same wall as the kitchen wall but without the stove at the same wall of course? If can, is it good fengshui toput cabinets at the same wall? Thank you very much.
  22. Frankly, what is there to have "bad" Feng Shui if your neighbours are still staying at the top floor corner of a townhouse. It is unlike having a toilet above things like the dining table or living room i.e. we are talking about human beings. Anonymous wrote: I have an L-shaped townhouse meaning that I owned a ground floor and first floor townhouse which was converted to a double-storey house plus my neighbour's ground floor corner townhouse which I have bought. Is it okin terms of good fengshui when there are other neighbours still staying at the top floor corner townhouse?
  23. 1. This link has some information on Ferraria Park condo: http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=43&mid=26473&new= 2. One of the major concerns of residents especially those that had purchased units at the opposite large connected blocks 8 to 14 is the high wall and also the potential road noise from cars coming into the estate towards your underground car park. 3. Generally, under current Flying star period 8, your stack 29 Block 18 is facing a wading pool. And If based on the most yang qi the facing direction of the block (stack) is a Period 8 South 1 facing direction. You may have to look or find out more of the characteristics of this type of home. (Your mostauspiciousqi direction comes from the main door doubleauspicious #8). 4. At the ground level, Ibeen toquite a few units in the development. And several ground floor units have currently young tree trunks slicing towards things like the master bedroom windows and even bedrooms / living room. For your unit (stack) just beware of tree trunks slicing- acting assha qi poison arrow slicing towards... any of the rooms.
  24. Anonymous wrote: Question: I'm not sure if this incompleted bed frame is a cause for bad feng shui. If yes, instead of changing a new bed frame, are there other methods to improve it? e.g adding some fabric to conceal the grills and convert it into a canopy bed? 1. Double-decker beds: Frankly, in my opinion, there is a wrong misconception of a double decker bed. 1.1 Some say that the person sleeping below (1st level) is like a "sha" qi or a beam. 1.2 What is really a beam. If one looks carefully at a support beam it is usally a horizontal column quite narrow and protrude "downwards". 1.3 If one observes a bunk bed carefully, especially for the person below, it is one large relatively "flat surface" e.g. a full set of evenly distributed springs or older beds come with a flat plank. Doesn't this mimick or look like a flat piece of ceiling? 1.4 Bunk beds have been in use many years back. And even during 1940's many US warships install bunk beds three or even four levels high stacked together! These beds are meant for the enlisted soldiers - while officers are better off.... 1.5 Many who study in university domitories do sleep in bunk beds. 1.6 In land scarce Singapore and Hong Kong during the 1960's to 1970's many homes install bunk beds to maximise space in each bedroom as these bedrooms double-up as study areas especially for a two child family squeezed into a single bedroom. 1.7 Look at Hong Kong also, many people have slept on bunk beds and there are no ill effects such as "retarded" brain etc... 1.8 Today, every enlisted solider work and sleep in their camps and it is very common for 1 out of 2 to sleep on the lower bunk bed. 1.9 Generally, once you taken out the upper bunk bed; visually, the upper frame grillesbecomes an "eye sore" that's all. Some bunk beds can be dismantled by "unlocking" the top frame. Definitely it would look better. 2. Again, generally, the frame normally won't cause any bad Feng Shui; but rather, it affects another form of luck "Man or human luck" i.e. feel good or not so good with such an "ugly" sight. 3. Frankly, this bedroom is already clutered more like a service balcony with clothes and even short pants hanging on such a low ceiling. And adding clother to cover the double decker frame grilles... is not a good idea. Anonymous wrote: 3) There are ceiling hooks for bamboo poles (for clothes) above my head when i'm sleeping. (pls see picture 2 below). 3. If I am not mistaken, one side of the hooks & frame is directly above the bed. I strongly believe, if anything else should go; this two clothes hooks should go. Anonymous wrote: 2) I am sleeping facing a window, with a towel hanging on the foot of the bed grill, blocking my sight to the window. (pls see picture 1 below). 4. Sorry no offence, but, all these hanging of clothings and pants is not my cup of tea. Clean clothes should always be hung inside a cupboard. And used clothes should be kept or folded away. 5. Yes, the bedroom would certainly do with a fresh coat of paint. Or if the whole house looks "dull" or old; best to give the entire home a fresh coat of paint. Usually Flying Star Feng Shui and one's ba zi is looked at to determine what is the best colour for a bedroom. But if this is too much a hassle, then best to paint the bedroom white or light pastel colours like light cream. 6. One of the key success factors is still : clear space and cleanliness in a home cum bedroom. If you are drying your clothes.. best not to dry them in your bedroom hanging it .... around all over the bedroom / bed frame etc... Anonymous wrote: 4) Question: Is the positioning of my wall mirror causing any bad feng shui? 7.In general, it is better not to have the wall mirror facing the bedroom window.
