1. The three most common remedies, used are: 1.1. A bushy tree or plant & /or 1.2.A six hollow rod wind chime or 1.3. A conVEX mirror 2. If one is unable to fully block e.g. currently the tree is still immature or if winter, not much leaves than either 1.2 or 1.3 MAY be used. 3. Other types of Remedies (some require alteration works:- 3.1. In Asia, often homes have fences and gates. These gates may have screens and often closed. Thus if it cannot be seen it no longer becomes a threat. 3.2. Some Geomancers may advise the tilting of the main door.

1. Since you have recently hired another practitioner; take the opportunity to ask this practitioner what is his/her rationale for changing the stove position. And also to tell you why the existing stove and sink location is not good. 2. Since you have stayed at this home for 10 years, do reflect on what is your reason for hiring this practitioner. Or that you are remodelling the kitchen and thus stumbled upon the practitioner. Again, try to reflect on your 10 years stay at the existing home. 3. Some resources on the stove: http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/Kitchen_Stove_%26_More Elainne H. wrote: Hi, more than 10 years ago i consulted a fengshui master and given the direction to construct my stove and sink in the kitchen. Recently I decided to consult another master in the hope to improve my home fengshui and was told by this master the kitchen stove and sink is constructed wrongly and I should dismantle and reposition it to improve my luck. As this task will be costly, I am cannot be certain whether to proceed or leave it as it's as both fengshui master has given me different indications. Please advise what I should do?

1. This is a typical placement of a ConVex mirror above the main entrance door. 2. The external bagua trigram surrounding the convex mirror is optional. This ba gua trigram is meant to "scare" away "evil spirits". 3. This apartment's main entrance door faces an open staircase. Not only is it facing an open staircase but also; the staircase is flowing downwards. Under symbolism in Feng Shui, it means that wealth is flowing out of the apartment main door and down the "stairs". Thus the expression: "You are down and out! at the same time!"

1. As the title suggests: Initial Opening of the door for the 1st time. Sally P. wrote: Do you mean after our 2nd Appointment with HDB where the 1st Owner has moved out & before we started our reno??? OR 2. Yes, once a person takes ownership of the home; usually a good date is chosen for this 1st time open door procedure. 3. Thus, if one go and VIEW a home once or several times prior to your so called 2nd appointment, then the home is stillwith the previous owner. There is no value doing this procedure. Sally P. wrote: 2ndly, we have just bought this house main door (looking out from inside the living room) is facing EAST, but we checked from your web on our most favourable direction is WEST. What should we do?? is there anyway to help? 4. This type of question is like: I have taken delivery of a Toyota car. And later, one realise that the person don't like the car. Can one bring back the car to Toyota and ask for a refund? Neither can one, wait for the earthquake to rattle the home and change the facing direction. What you had mentioned is `history'. 5. If you to apply DIY Feng Shui, then these are some of the common approaches.:- * Feng Shui Triage * Fix-the-Leak, First! * Situational Approach * The Concept of Maximizing Marks * The Concept of Feng Shui by Exception * The Customer Engineer Concept * The Three-Step-Approach * Trial & Error Vs Flying Star

1. Please note that Feng Shui does not depend soley on this interpretation. 2. Feng Shui is about: location, location & location. And other more important factors include: which flying star direction this home is facing, how suitable the home is to the breadwinner. 3. If you are applying Feng Shui, you have to apply all these facts and cannot just based on this single information alone. 4. You are just like asking a blind man to lead another blind man?

1. Frankly, there could be some other "leaks". But from the picture, one can distinctly see a lamp post slicing towards the main door of the home. There is a secondary poison arrow i.e. the 25 speed limit sign. 2. The most effective method is to plant a cluster of plants or plants that does not have a single tree trunk at the circular planter area. Planting a tree with a single tree trunk goes back to square one again.. this tree would become a poison arrow aimed towards the home.

1. Please note that such information should be looked at before purchasing a property. For example, when deciding which property to purchase out of a few homes. 2. Once after a person has purchased the property: "staring" at the information is counter productive. As this concept does not or cannot offer any other cure! 3. Thus the best thing to do is to try to avoid, reduce or neutralise "leaks" in a home. 4. The report is helpful for PRE-purchase of a home AND not for POST-purchase or have lived-in already.

1. Further to what I had mentioned, some Chinese may not be aware that in the past, there was a system with regards to name selection. 2. Take my actual Chinese name. Please see attachment:- 3. Under number 1: this is my surname : Lee or Li 4.1 Under number 2: all my brothers and cousins of the same generation share this middle name: Han. Therefore, so long as there is a male person - brother or even half-brother or cousins: we all share this same name. 4.2 Majority of Chinese names have: 1 , 2 and 3 characters. And while my grand father choose to name us under Para 4.1 or it is known as a "marker" to identify my (male) generation, there are other familys that name all males from the same generation under marking 3. Instead of 2. 4.3 For example: This family has the surname Tan. And all brothers, half-brothers and cousins of the generation. Their names may be:- Tan Ah Kow Tan Ah Teck Tan Ah Tee Tan Ah Bah Tan Ah Choy or Tan Kow Ah Tan Teck Ah Tan Tee Ah Tan Bah Ah Tan Choy Ah Where surname = Tan. And all brothers, cousins and half-brothers share the same "Ah" in their name. When these generation have their own children, they are suppose to start from a new second or third name. Thus all male child of all the above persons may have:- Tan Hui Teck Tan Hui Bee Tan Hui Er Tan Hui Blur Tan Hui Har or Tan Teck Hui Tan Bee Hui Tan Er Hui Tan Blur Hui Tan Har Hui Thus, all those belonging to this "next generation" would share the same character Hui under their generation. 5. Thus whether our second character or third character is used as a marker to that generation, there is no issue. 6. Surname cannot be changed for male and if the second (or third character) name is compulsory, then in my case, the last number 3 is used to balance the elements in the name. 7. For example, as I was found to have a balanced ba zi chart, for those who can understand Mandarin character would see that the name implies "centre" or balance. 8. One of my brothers was found to "lack water" element. Thus instead of forcing him to drink water every day; his name has a "water" = "Shui" as the last character of his him. 9. The morale of the story is if lack water : Huh? What did you say again? Need to drink 5 gallons of water a day? Are you looney?

1. The field of geomancy extends from birth to death. 2. What you had being very concerned with the balance of elements - "should" have been taken care off immediately after birth - prior to naming of a Chinese child. 3. For example, in many instances; a grand-father or parent - may approach a geomancer to draw up a new born's ba zi chart. Please see attachment. 4. Under this example: please refer to Page 3 of 14, you will notice the following:- " Your Five Element Breakdown:" 1 Extremely Weak Water = 1% 1 Weakest Wood= 3% 0 Weak Fire = 0% 9 Strongest Earth = 86% 1 Strong Metal = 7% 5. Chinese are the only culture in the world that seeks the advice of a geomancy to assist in selecting a good / auspicious name for a child. 6. The Chinese can do it as all Chinese characters (words) can be identified to any of the five elements. Thus in this example, this child is considered as having too much earth. 7. Thus, his name MUST not contain any mandarin characters associated with earth. His name would be properly evaluated and most probably several names would be selected. For example, his name may lack water and wood and since wood helps to destroy or reduce his strong earth, a name with such an association would be good. 8. Therefore, by right your fears would have been taken into consideration just after birth! By having a balanced name, it is considered far better than the not so sound concept of drinking more water because one is lacking water. But rather, the name would include water element in it. 9. Is'nt this a better or cleaner system than to wrongly self-medicate? 10. For example, what happens if a person has earth element = 0% Does he need to go to his front yard and pick up dirt or earth and eat them? We cannot therefore feel that just because we lack earth, we have to swallow earth or stones etc.... There is no logic, here. 11. I won't want to be lacking "metal". Imagine if I were to be lacking metal, I won't want to end up like dracula... As we all know.. blood contains iron. I can't be going around asking to drink blood. Or eating metal fillings rite? 12. What happens if one lacks wood? Do we have to approach all trees and start to bite on the bark of trees? Worse, if it is in the desert.. I won't want to bite on cactus tree! Yucks!

1. Usually it is safer to dwell more on caution. 2. The rationale is simple: As the sector based on the20 Year Flying Star already has: 2M 5W ; the concern here is that hopefully another or multiples of especially #5 and/or #2 especially #5 or even #9 congregate at that sector. 3. Contrast this with another sector that does not have 2M or 5W. Thus the bedroom for your daughter may consider "prevention" rather than a cure. (Prevention is better than a cure). Salt water cure is old "technology" and it has to be placed away from the face - closer to an opening or an open window. Nowadays, a better method is using ionisers cum hepa cleaners like Sharp brand fan cum ionisers which is a safter bet. Michelle O. wrote: I have a bedroom for my daughter which has a 2m 5w 1t and she has a 2 kua guardian star - I read in a book that it makes her safer than most to stay there. Is it true and if not is a salt water cure and a metal item such as a pendulum clock or gourd enough? I also have a room for my other daughter with a guardian 5 kua and the room has 7m 9w and 5t - same question and confirmation on cure.

Yes, unfortunately there are two considerations, here: 1. It's a male thing! Unfortunately: our society, still has some taboo's associated with anything related to women. And even if the driver is not the person getting married; surely some unusual questions will arose like: the female driver preferable should not have her monthly period on that day.... etc... 2. Human nature at work (or wrongly at work). We human beings don't like to hear negatives spoken - even if there is relatively no issue. But, so long as one person or two be it one's relative, friends were to comment that this is they "felt" as inauspicious, we start to cast doubts ... 3. Frankly, there is no true logic to disallow a female to drive is there? Unless, she is a lousy driver. But some girls are even better drivers than males! 4. Sorry for the side track: It would be different if it is the other way around. For instance, in the past, I am sure, eunuchs would be the ones that carry the queen or consorts to the emperor! In fact, in the past, eunuchs would carry a naked concubine or consort towards the king's bed. The rationale is so that she is unable to conceal any hidden weapons on her. So if a eunuch would be driving our wedding car today.. will anyone be making any noise?

1. Frankly, this should not be taken out of context. 2. For example, it is more evident that it is applied in relation to things like your earth luck or Feng Shui. This is why, many practitioners of ba zi will ask you to try to harmonize your ba zi element to e.g. your bedroom - colours etc... 3. The Ba zi is based on the five elements concept. And the five elements comprise of : Earth - Metal - Water - Wood and Fire. And even in a "normal" home, we often scan a room and can see all five of these elements within sight of our eyes in a home. Thus we should not go to the extreme and individually - this cannot that cannot etc... 4. Imagine this extreme: all Singapore males have to be drafted into military. And what happens if a male child is considered as a "Strong Wood" element? 5. Can we write to the ministry of defense and use this argument? Father of son (going to be drafted into the army "As my child is a strong wood person; he cannot wear Green army uniform. As green represents wood. And too much wood is no good for him" General of thearmy " Yes, we can dress your son in RED, and during wartime, he will be "lighted" up like a Christmas tree! If there is a war, you are sending your son faster to his grave! A sniper will aim for him, first!" General of the army "Tell you what - originally, he was to serve in my ministry in the comfort of my reseach lab; to design new aids for people on the ground. But since he is unable to wear green; I have decided to make him a Singapore commando! Although he will be wearing green uniform - at least, his beret is RED!" 6. The next thing you know; he and the father may be thrown into detention centre! 7. Thus applying ba zi elements is both commonsense and based on practical approach towards life.

1. Yeah, hammering 3 nails isas what you had mentioned; not the norm. Or if I can be frank enough "weird". 2. Firstly, from a commonsense approach:needs lots ofstrength and often even hammering nails into wood is hard enough not to say hammering nails into the walls. 3. Symbolically, it may even be a double edgedsword: beforemoving into a new home: itmay even beconsidered inauspicious todriving three nails into one's home. Anonymous wrote: We were told that renovating the house on the 7thmonth is not auspicious and therefore our fengshui consultanttold us to hammer 3 nailson the wall near the window. 4. As youhad mentioned, if it seems odd to you; don't do it. 5. Contrary to popular myths or beliefs: in fact, the 7th month to some and on many days of the 7th month are auspcious days. Just that the popular belief is that everyone tries to play safe and try to avoid many things or activities in the 7th month. 6. On the extreme end of the spectrum; to play safe, so long as one does not move in during the 7th month; this would be acceptable. 7. In the past, due to circumstances like yours: real need to start renovations on the 7th month - this has been done by many others before. Therefore, as a consolation, you are not the first nor going to be the last person to so. 8. Thus within our history, if one cannot symbolically start renovations before the 7th month, could "hand ownership" to the renovation contractors to start work ... this has been done .. by many others also in the past. 9. What you can logically do is: if you are getting ownership of the home during the 7th month; "hand the property to the contractor". For example, if you don't intend to change locks; (and if the home is vacant) ask or usually the contractor would install a "bicycle chain" and or bring his chain and lock. Let the contractor start renovations... 10. What is more important is that you move-in, later after the 7th month. 11. Yeah.. my toes are laughing at the 3 nail thing.... might as well bring along a jack-hammer on loan from those constructing roads....

Blue tinted window glass or blue tinted film
Cecil Lee posted a topic in Feng Shui Tips & Guidelines
1. Under symbolism in Feng Shui; it is best not to use blue-tinted window glass for a home. 2. This could be the actual blue tint in the window glass plane OR blue-tint film on pasted on a clear glass. 3. As this blue-tint symbolises "water element". And symbolically, it implies water = wealth leaking out of the home or apartment. One way to redress this is to use white or cream "day curtain" to help retain the "water". 4. As white or cream represents metal element. Golden coloured blinds or curtains added to such windows are equally applicable. 5. What about other coloured tints: black? grey? brown or green? All these colours are acceptable. -
When applying proper authentic Feng Shui, then some of the key success factors to over-come such things are:- * Fix-the-Leak, First! * The Concept of Maximizing Marks Phung Tieu T. wrote: What can I do to make "misfortune" to become "fortune"?

1. For free auspicious date for the NEXT 30 days:- http://dates.geomancy.net 2. Thus if you are looking atFREE dates, then wait until closer to december to look at thedates. 3. Please note that usually; one should look only at the male breadwinner or in addition ofthe spouse combineddates. 4. If one wants to look at auspicious dates for more than three persons; onehas to be real serious! As most of the time, itmay be hard to find auspicious dates already for two persons. But for three persons? Have you wondered thatin some cases, there may only be auspicious dates perhaps every two months. (Thisdwellmore on looney tunes...)

What happens in this senario:- Which level we now lastlive our life on earth;determines where one will go, later... Just imagine this.... Ground Floor: Will not go up or down to Heaven or Hell. Will remain on this earth as a wondering spirit! Basement: The higher the basement number, the very likely one will go to hell. For example: Basement 4: Die, die will go to Hell!

1. It depends:- 1.1. If the car garage is at the Basement or below street level: where it was dug into the ground; then not counted:- Basement (if your garage is at this level) Street Level = #01-xx 2nd storey(If your garage is at street level) = #02-xx 1.2. If the car garage is at Street Level, then the car garage (area) = #01-xx; while your unit, say on the 2nd storey = #02-xx. Please see attachment. Note: Not many apartments are greater than #99 storey's high. And the Flying Star House (Apartment) Report: does not look at apartments below ground level.

1. In general, typically most sites will certainly have units that are very good to average to inauspicious. As no unit or stack can share the same stack-site even within a development. 2. Frankly, in fact especially Chinese cemetry sites (were) suppose to be excellent sites. As Chinese have a wish that future generations will prospher. Thus, all Chinese cemetry sites are very auspicious. 3. The Bidaari Cemetry site: The word Bidadari originated from the Sansckrit word: widyadari which roughly translates to heavenly "attainment". In fact, this site, was originally an Istana of one Sultan of Johore's wife home. In 1904, the colonial government purchased around 45 acres of this land and turned it into a cemetry. Which we know was meant for burial of Hindus, Muslims and large population of different denominations of Christians. 4. One can draw a parallel to Orchard Road. Once upon a-time, the land where the MRT station sits was burial ground. And in the past, people thought that it was inauspicious to build the hotel (Tangs-Marriot) facing it. 5. In fact, many apartments are now built on burial sites or facing it: Bishan park; Yishan (Teochew cemetry); Old Bedok Road (where my grandfather was buried) is now Tampines ... 6. Memory fades... Singaporeans have "short" memory. Once the Bidadari is renewed again; no one would be wiser... 7. See attachment. Please note that the block 6: worst stack is 10. An entrapped stack! Inauspicious. While Block 2: stack 05 should be facing Flying Star E2 - if so, generally, the auspicious double #8's are wasted at the "back" of the apartment - which is usually the kitchen/yard area. Karen K. wrote: Some people avoided buying this development because it is directly opposite the old Bidadari Cemetry which is not existing already. Is there a good reason to be concern? Further to what I had mentioned, one of the options is to place a low height "linen" cabinet" at the foot of the bed. See attachment.

1. Frankly, although your plot of land is irregular; in my opinion, it is considered "mild" or not extremely irregular. Overall, if you don't do anything, it is quite minor. As compared to many other plot of land. Please see attachment. 2. The eastest way to "fix" this mild irregularity is to have some kind of landscaping for area marked in Red as "C". 3. You may alos place lighting at markings in red "A" and "B". But, in my opinion, either you can still do nothing or go for para 2. 4. As for the frontage, no major concern for this plot of land. (With our without a light at the corner - no issue) at all.

1. So long as when sleeping, the legs are not directly facing the bedroom door. 2. The two most common approach are:- 2.1. No issue if the head faces the bedroom door instead of the leg. Might want to consider switching sides when sleeping. 2.2. Some beds have a courtesy (privacy) board and if this courtesy board is at the same level of the legs, it will "cover" the legs and/or 2.3. A low linen cupboard can be placed at the foot of the bed that is closest to the door. 3. Ideal choice is to relocate the bed (if possible).

Initial Opening of Door Procedures - Updated

1. Red for the Chinese means auspicious. Thus all fa gao(s) see attachment below must have "red dot(s)" or in the past, a red piece of cut-out paper stuck on the top of the fa goa. 2. Fa Gao comes in various colours. In Singapore, the most common colours are this brown colour. Other popular colours are orange (which represents gold) or pink colour. Rarely white is used. As white represents "death". Even if white is used, it has to have the red dot(s) on it or a again a red piece of paper stuck on the top of the fa gao. 3. Nowadays; smaller sized fa gao; meant more for eating also comes in the popular "pandan" green colour. -
1. Singapore is a multi racial country. Very Harmonious! 2. For example, take a look the pictures, below: You can actually see a Christian Church side-by-side to a Chinese Temple! The location: Boon Lay Drive, Singapore 3. One up for religious tolerance!
