  1. These are some of the considerations:- 1. In the past; the facing direction is very straight forward. 2. Many LANDED homes havea main entrance area and the facing direction is like today; you usally stand inside the property looking outtowards often the main gate area. Many homes have the main entrance door directly facing towards the main gate area. 3. Some Geomancers apply this concept religiously. Cannot blame them as they can "quote" a certain Feng Shui book and say hey! To them the proper way of taking a reading is always as what the book (akin to a bible) says. Always stand inside the main door and take a reading looking out of it. 4. Some Geomancers, to reinforce; say this is what ALL Feng Shui "bibles" tell you to do. So there is no ifs or buts, here! 5. However, one must understand the RATIONALE for finding where is the FACING direction of a home. 6. The main reason for finding the FACING direction is so that one can try to work out a Flying Star Chart that maximises the Feng Shui. 7. And the key success factor is " WHERE IS THE MOUTH " of the home? 8. Frankly, as you had mentioned, your HDB apartment may have it's main door at odd sectors in-fact just to suit the corridor leading towards your unit. BUT, in essence: it may not necessarily be the mouth of the home. 9. Today, the consensus amongst most Geomancers is to locate the area of the home which has the most "YANG" qi. For example, you have mentioned that you can define the facing direction of your apartment. 10. Frankly, no one can guarantee that they have got your "facing direction correct". ... / continue in Part 2...
  2. Some of us have a great wife and family. But, for some, it is a real pity... may be the saying goes "Love grows from a distance". This man loves his wife; but his wife calls him and tell him; don't come home with your car, darling..... How can this be?
  3. These are some considerations:- 1. Never save on getting proper expert advise. 2. Usually, you should start from the exterior e.g. imagine how rain falls on the property and how it drains OUT of the home. This can affect the wealth and/or power authority or even range from loss to misfortune if not done properly. Anonymous wrote: Is itok to put the stairs or the toilet/shower areain the north sector? The north sector has flying stars 5 and 2. I asked this because I was informedNOT to putstairs nor toilet inthe north sector. 3. You must have got some advice ".. I was informed.." If it is your Geomancer, then please clarify with them. 3.1. Hopefully your Geomancer does not apply the "Kindergarten" type of superficial Feng Shui where North = career... etc... If so, better think twice with such an advice... be it a geomancer or a friend with "expert Feng Shui knowledge". 3.2. Generally, it sounds reasonable to have the toilet at North IF this sector is not the main breadwinner's Eight House = prosperity sector. And the 20 year flying star says what you had mentioned. 4. Please check out the last message where a user here asked about the altar. Go do a search in this forum and you will find so many links and advice on the forum. For example:somepast resources on the altar:http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=15799&new Anonymous wrote: Dear Master Lee, I will be constructing a 3-storey house. The north sector has flying stars 5 and 2. I asked this because I was informedNOT to putstairs nor toilet inthe north sector. The master's bedroom will be on the third floor and will occupy the SW, W and NW sector. (By the way, thehouse has a floor area of 75 sq. meter or 807 square foot per floor.) Where should I put my toilet? In the SW, W or NW sector since all are good directions based on my kua number. What is a good sector to place the altar? Is it good to place other bedrooms in the East (flying stars 3 & 4)and NE (flying star 7and 9)? Looking forward to your advise. Many thanks. 5. It is best that you get a Geomancer to review all the other various questions as this forum focus is more on General Advice not specific to the dot advice. 6. Since, it looks like you are hopingor Want to build your dream home? There are more than meets the eye to just applying Flying Star.
  4. 1. Yes, there is such a thing as Yang and Yin Feng Shui. 1.1. Yang Feng Shui is for the living: Earth luck for the living 1.2. Yin Feng Shui is for the dead. And this range from burial site to placement of the altar in a location or home. 2. For example, if we need to place BOTH a deity like Guan Yin, then when facing the altar; the GOD should be to our right. And the ancestor tablet or frame is on the same altar but much lower to it's left. 3. And in addition, all proper altar has to follow Feng Shui ruler dimensions e.g. 49 3/4 inches where the Feng Shui ruler is auspicious for BOTH the living and the dead. 4. Do a SEARCH in this forum and you can find lots of information on where one should place an altar in a home environment:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=15799&new
  5. But what happens if I always GIVE and she always TAKES IT ALL? Can this happen? WHY NOT?
  6. 1. Frankly, if one drawsa comparison with the Western zodiac signs; the Western zodiac signs in general also goes by the month and not the Year. 2. Thus, the Western Zodiac signs also goes by MONTH not YEAR; as shown, below:- Aries (Ram) March 21 to April 20. Taurus (Bull) April 21 to May 20. Gemini (Twins) May 21 to June 21. Cancer (Crab) June 22 to July 22. Leo (Lion) July 23 to August 22. Virgo (Virgin) August 23 to September 22. Libra (Scales) September 23 to October 22. Scorpio (Scorpion) October 23 to November 22. Sagittarius (The Archer) November 23 to December 21. Capricorn (Sea-goat) December 22 to January 20. Aquarius (Water Bearer) January 21 to February 19. Pisces (Fish) February 20 to March 20. 3. Therefore, if one looks closely this is really nothing new, or out of the extraordinary nor the concept did not come from thin air. 4. Even the Chinese Horoscope does have a more complicated version e.g. Tze Wei Tou Shou which is close to the Ba zi element analysis. 5. Thus, just imagine, when we go to a certain school. There are as many as 10 classes for those born in each year (some schools and their capacity). And if the teacher were to ask how unique are all of you; we are all "earth-horses!'. This is no longer unique. Looks like a "bunch" of homogenous homo sepiens... 6. Furthermore, ba zi element calculation is based on the "mother of all" common denominator = The Five Elements concept. 7. The ba zi calculation goes as far to tell you whether you are a WEAK or STRONG fire person. Contrast this to just using the YEAR of birth: earth-Horse. 8. So, is your earth-horse : WEAK earth-horse or STRONG earth-horse?
  7. Further to what I had mentioned, as you did not provide your dd.mm.yy (and time of birth); Take alook at an extract of TWO ba zi's of people born within your year of birth = 1978 (within the Chinese New Year of 1978) Sample Male born 1978, Male - 23 Mar 1978 9.00 a.m. to 10.59 a.m.Lunar Calendar: 1978, 2nd month, 15 day Sample Female born in 1978, Female - 24 Nov 1978 11.00 a.m. to 12.59 p.m. Lunar Calendar: 1978, 10th month, 24 day If you see the attachment, both persons like yourself that are born in the YEAR of 1978 are as you had mentioned = Earth-Horse. Thus, the three of you are all born as under the YEAR of the Earth-Horse. So what? Under traditional Ba zi; please see sample chart. There is not only the simplistic YEAR of birth; but there are such things as Day, Month, Hour and even House of Life and House of conception. Under the Ba zi analysis, your more specific element is based on one of the lowest common denominator: THE MONTH that you were born. Why MONTH and not YEAR? Which is more focused Year or month? Under the Ba zi, time can even be left "blank" as often, many other complications like some cannot remember or some say different time in different parts of the year. Thus, anyone Tom, Dick or Harry can be an earth-horse; so can any Ah Lian, Ah Hui and Ah Swee also. So what.
  8. 1. If you talking about the kindergarten type of analysis via the horoscope, yes, you are an earth-horse. 2. For example, under my Chinese horoscope site, you are considered as an earth-horse:- http://www.lovesigns.net/horoscope/astro/ehorse.htm 3. Please note that anything above this line has more to do with "kindergarten type of anaysis. 4. For example, everyone born between 7 Feb 1978 to 27 Jan 1979 are considered as an EARTH Horse. http://www.lovesigns.net/horoscope/ayear/a60-80.htm 5. Ba Zi analysis is more specific: the reason why you are a "fire horse" is on your DAY of birth. 6. Which is more specific?Your YEAR of birth or DAY of birth "pillar". 7. Ba zi looks at the minimium of DD MM YY and HH. It also considers two other pillars forthe living: House of Life andHouse of Conception. 8. Basic Chinese horoscope such as those found in my lovesigns.net are very popular in the 1950's to the 1970's. But, as mentioned, these are really kindergarten standard.. type of thing.
  9. Erh.. what you mean by Up mountain, Down water? Simple: All units are UP there! While all basement area enjoy "down water"! OIC! down got water! That's true!
  10. Oops! Can I blame it on poor dimensions of this sausage on my poor sales? Yeah.. go ahead.. make my day!
  11. The stork did not pay attention to what the Geomancer told him. The stork is now confused? To whom should he deliver the baby to? The stork is confused as the baby has yellow skin on his legs and fair skin on his face and body..hmmm.....
  12. Can Feng Shui be a cure all for everything: even bad businesses? Let's all take a powernap, first!
  13. Yes, the location of a dustbin can affect the Feng Shui of a home. What happens if there is no choice but to place the dustbin in a "good" sector? Then make sure that one uses a "designer" type of dustbin at that location.
  14. Say... what is the difference between dogs and bulls? You should ask instead: What is common between the two?
  15. 1. In my opinion, there are other considerations. 2. For example, in this Sample Male person's chart, under "Your Ten Deities & Key Characteristics" Authority (zheng guan) = 4 3. Here, one considerationis that one can compare each partner's Authority (zheng guan). 4. For example, if his partner (wife's) Authority is higherthan his; then in Singapore context we can say that his wife will dominate him: 5. And in such a situation, his wife can be considered as " The Minister of Finance and Defence at home".Andthe man? His position in the home is akin to a "Minister without portfolio". 6. There are lots more that ba zi can derive information between the two parties. 7. Often, rather than reading between the lines; one may consider expert help from a geomancer to look at both partner's chart. 8.In my opinion, is for practical reasons, if one has already committed to the other person; for the female, especially if she has been "broken-in" then no point in seeking such help: this can lead to auto-suggestion and self-fullfilling prophecy! 9. If onehas fallen in-love; so be it.... don't look or dwell into this "art" of compatibility.... For example, in the past, many marriages survive very long especially between match-made couples! So what the heck! For girls, if you are not sure, don't open your fly trap to the man will do! Cheers!
  16. The 20 Year Flying base or palace star. Co-incidentally, this years annual star is #5.
  17. Further to what I had mentioned:- 1. Although #9 is considered as the future prosperity; under Period #8; it is still a "sensitive" star especially if it is similar to the current situation where for SWBase = #5 and WS = #9. Fire fuels #5 or inflames it. 2. Based on the Flying Star Chart, see attachment:- 2.1. This overall chart is considered:- South-West Lian Zhen Xing, Misfortune, Sickness (5) Earth South Lu Cun Xing, Disputes, Quarrels, Conflicts (3) Fire 2.2 There is also the Eight-One combinations analysis:- 2.2.1 For SW = [7] & [9] - Internal Intestine illness. while 2.2.2 For S1 = [9] & [7] - Heart illness. In some instances, the combination of MS# with WS# yields a better or worse interpretations. 3. Thus, to make a sound judgement; such things are to be considered before one makes a judgement call. 4. In addition, as mentioned: even though #9 is the future prosperity star; but when will it arrive? Tomorrow, next year or a decade or so later? If it is decade or so... oops... anything can happen .. before that date!
  18. Thanks! What you had mentioned has been seriously considered. These are further considerations:- 1. Period 9 is still sometime away i.e. approximately close to 12 or more years to go. That is a decade or 10 years. Anything can happen, prior to this 10 years. 2. It is not like Period 9, is on the way (akan datang) sort of thing. 3. A further analysis, based on the Five Elements concept:- 3.1 S1 with M9 W7 B3; here Mountain Star #9 can help to balance or neutralise Palace Base #3. While W#7 ain't perfect but at least itis a weak metal element. 3.2.SWwith M7 W9 B5: Here, Water Star #9 (fire element) fuels or inflames Base #5 (Strong earth element). 3.3. Flying Star does not live in isolation. The term "timely" stars is critical. Timely simply means time dimension. Thus, what happens if a yearly and/or monthly and/or weekly and/or daily #5 flys into S1 or SW? 4. Which sector is better prepared to handle this #5 or mulitples of #5 and/or #2 and or #9? Master, What about the school of thought that states that for the main door which is "yang" in nature , we look at water star 9 which is favourable as it is a future prosperity star (in period 9). We can also remedy the mountain star 7 by placing some blue objects. Right master? Kevin 5. What is missing inwhat you mention is like the hot or cold continuum:- When something bad occurs, it will occur with greater "ferocity" or "calamity" at SW than S1. 6. Please see attachment. S1 can better buffer from "misfortune or calamity" or extremes in problems. 7. While if really bad stars like #5 and/or #2 and coincidentally #9 flies in during Period 8; the problem can outweigh those that may occur under S1. Here, SW's issues or problems can reach scale 10; where the scale is from 1 to 10. While S1's scale reach say scale 7 rather than full score of 10. 8. Thus no point looking ahead 12 or more years later, when, a calamity may occur before that.
  19. A water position at a wrong sector such as a sector that has #3 can only fuel it:as #3 is a wood element and water helps "wood" to grow!
  20. Only an ardent fan of Flying Star Feng Shui can choose such a brand name for a coffee chain in Singapore. Perhaps, the owner's wish is that more people spent time at this chain to talk about scandals, conflicts and even quarrel more often in this "popular" chain. BTW, this chain is ficticious! Hahaha!
  21. Finally, this is how a Flower of romance home really looks like!
  22. 1. The convex mirror that you have mentioned is acceptable. 2. Based in the concept of: "if it is not seen, it no longer is a threat" could be considered (if practical) i.e. drawing down day curtains or blinds; can be considered.
  23. Sorry this is only a Free General Advise forum. What you are asking is out of range of this forum: The test of posting to this forum is:Posting one'sDD/MM/YYYY of birth is already too specific to that person or individual. If so, it does not fall under GENERAL advice.
  24. In my opinion, frankly, there are too many variables to be considered and not within the scope of this Free General Advice Forum: 1. Feng Shui or Earth Luck of the individual person's home: analysis of problem areas and often disarming sectors with things like "#3 = quarrels, conflicts" and other inbalances; Shapes and Forms Feng Shui 2. Heaven Luck or Ba zi analysis of each individuals It is best that if you are pursuing it via Geomancy, perhaps may consider getting expert help in Malaysia?
  25. There is one commonsense concept which Shapes and Forms Feng Shui considers critical: "Bright Hall" or "Ming Tang". This simply means that if possible the area around the entrance (or facing direction) should have "clear unblocked space". This simply means that there is some lighting best would be natural lighting at the front area. Another purpose is to allow qi to collect within the area. Even if there are steps leading down but based on the vague info, you did mentioned that there is something like 2 metre space = which I attribute to some form of a "bright hall". Which is acceptable. Not the best, but may be acceptable. Contrast this to some old buildings where the 2nd and or 3rd storey is just one single straight staircase. In addition, if the home does have windows that filter light in; much the better.
