  1. Don't be mislead by Geomancers that want to sell products to enrich themselves. This is their main motive. On the contrary, find out what is the root cause of the problem and fix it!
  2. So does all these people in this air-plane!
  3. This has to be a very popular well liked palm! In Singapore, it is grown in pots. And it has thick shinny, deep green coloured leaf. Many Singaporeans will never imagine that it belongs to the palm family. Waxy plants dislike direct sunlight. And it thrives especially with fertilzer. It's trunk is also thick and everything about the plant symbolises "well fed" and with it's thick waxy leaves looks both high class and to some prosperous looking. It is equally very easy to grow... Often, one will see auspicious ornaments attached to the stem or red ribbon tied to the plant... A top choice for placing outside the main entrance door of many Chinese homes. Actual name is: Zamioculcas zamiifolia. Synonym: Caladium zamlaefolium Originates from Zanzibar, Tanzania
  4. 1. The leaves of this vine (climber) has a fragrant smell. 2. It is common in some parts of South-East Asia especially by the Malays / Balinese to chew the leaves as some sort of an apertiser or rather a habit to chew it with other cordiments placed in the leave. People who regularly chewed this has a rather bad permanent stain on their teeth /mouth.... for those who yearn for white teeth.. this is a no no... 3. It's cousin is the wild betel-leaf. As the name suggests it can be cultivated or grown wild. A very hardy vine and can multiply very very fast. It's flower is cone-like white.. 4. The family name of this vine is : Piperaceae. And it originates from Bali and the West Indies...
  5. Name of this plant: Heliconia psittacorum x H. spathocircinata `Golden Torch'. Family Name: Heliconiaceae Origin: Tropical America This family flowers are similar to these exept that they come in varied colours like: Dark Red, Fire FLahs, Goden Torch Adrian etc...
  6. The brightly coloured flower of this species to some at a glance resembles a cooked (red crab claw) of sorts or even the beak of a pink stork. Family Name: Heliconiaceae Origin: Tropical America
  7. These two couples find it very hard to make money out of charities in Singapore nowadays.. So, they are trying to emulate Bernie Madoff in trying to see whether they can con people longer years than Madoff!
  8. Is this really true? Or are you kidding me??
  9. More pictures of the Spider Lily flower...
  10. This plant is quite common in Singapore, but always never placed directly at the frontage of the main entrance door. As each of the leave is pointed much like an Anglo Saxon knife blade. This plant comes from Zaire. It's family name is: Dracaenaceae. And it is commonly called: Variegated Snake Plant. This plant has a cousin, which is much harder to find in Singapore. The profile of it's leave are the same except that it's yellowish and greenish band of stripes is horizontal vs the vertical stripes found on the attached Snake plant. Worse still, this cousin is also called Snake plant but it has another tongue in cheek name: Mother-in-law Tongue. Another name is Bowsring.
  11. Under symbolism in Feng Shui:- 1.1. Avoid painting ceilings blue colour; 1.2. Avoid blue coloured roof tiles for landed property roof; 1.3. Avoid windows or doors using blue tinted glass or paste blue coloured sun-x film...
  12. Bills, bills, bills and more bills. Lawyer's demand letter; bankruptcy letter; lawsuits and more...
  13. 1. Please see attachment illustration. Under Shapes and Forms, the low commercial complex Blk 451 is symbolic of a butcher's knife i.e. it looks like an outline of a butcher's knife with handle and sharp edge. 2. The sharp edge happens to fall on part of Blk 454. Since the unit you are looking at is at third storey, it is around the same height as the Blk 451. (Thus can be affected by the Feng Shui.) 3. In particular, if one is doing business, then best to avoid the unit #03-xx Blk 454. 4. In addition, the building of 454 is along NW - SE direction and such apartments that were built between 1984 to 2003 would have "small luck" as water #8 is trapped in the middle of the home. And some afternoon sun. 5. Other than the above, living room of the unit is facing the busy Clementi Ave 3 road. 6. In my opinion, it is not the best unit.
  14. http://www.lovesigns.net/horoscope/amenu/amenu.htm For over 100 years, the orphanage was home to children from poor or broken homes as well as unwanted babies. The orphanage took in many Chinese baby girls born in the year of the tiger - " tiger girls " because of the strong superstitious belief that they would bring bad luck to their families. In 1963, the Mother Superior noted that this practice was stopped as there was a marked change in this supersitious belief. The Home of Abandoned Babies ceased finally in 1983 when the CHIJ Convent was relocated.
  15. Some people have no shame in using Feng Shui to sell useless commercial products that only enrich themselves.... When the buying stops; the selling can! Authentic Feng Shui is not about buying such products! Our grandparents time, parents time don't have such things.... who are these people kidding? You and me? Nah.... give them no chance to cheat us! Another thing.. is it true that you can buy anything from eBay? Yes/No??
  16. This is the way this lady interprets the Five Elements concept and is applying it closely..... A world's first! And erh! luckily, she is bald. Or is her baldness caused by all these? earlier.. when she used to die her hair a different colour each day? Nowadays, she wears a matching coloured wig each day....
  17. No worries, I don't mean that you are racist. Usually, in cosmopolitant Asia, we are discreet in bringing up such question(s). As does highlight differences between races. Frankly, although theseacademically can be classified under the Five Elements concept; it is "peanuts" if we consider other factorsor weigthage like a home with "quantum leap" in Feng Shuietc... Here in our culture we call it "Kachang puteh" application. (Smaller influence).
  18. How do I solve a problem that is out of my control? Do I call for help; or become physical? Which is a better solution? DIY?
  19. This plant can be grown under direct sunlight or under a shade. It loves wet weather and constant watering. It's common name: Spider Lily; indeed the white flower looks like a spider. It belongs to the Amaryllidaceae family. The plant and flower comes from the West Indies. However, this plant with white flowers are not popular with locals as they consider : white (white flowers) inauspicious. The Chinese and Singaporeans prefer brightly coloured flowers, instead.
  20. Wood (Green) helps fire to grow.... So must be good for a weak fire person, rite? While metal element can be gold or white or silver.. Guess what I chose for my hair, please!
  21. Frankly, such questions have never ever come - out. And such questions although can be innnocent; for me I don't mind such questions but there are some who .. may even stretch this question into racists. These are considered features of a person. Thus one cannot say just because one has black hair; it represents water element. One has red hair, fire element. One has blonde or golden hair .. metal element. Such things are in the realm of taboo questions. For example; try to associate most asians with yellow skin and then tell them (myself) included that since you "Asian" decendants have yellow skin, means that it is earth element. Then what happen if one is a dark skinned (dark brown) person? Hey! You remind me of say oak wood? etc..... Again, eyes : blue eyes, green eyes and brown eyes.... what to make of them... Frankly; in my country we learned to be tolerant of all races and ................ .... ... it does not matter if the hair is yellow; be it earth or metal element.... the Five element concept does not focus or zoom in into such things... there is however a first time.. and this is the first time... such things have brought up...good or bad I don't know... Such questions should be considered: peanuts or irrelevant to the Five Elements Concept. For example, one can easily dye one's hair into any colour: black can become brown, golden blonde can become brown or black etc.... British punks dye their colour green , blue and even stripes of red... Libby I. wrote: Is blond hair considered to be an earth element(yellow) or metal element(gold)?
  22. The family name of this type plant is: Dracaenaceae This family of plants require only medium watering, it can be placed under direct or in-direct sunlight. It's family can be distinguished by two tone colours which run parallel to its "spear" like leave. And it's family has spear like leaves that are: tall and thin to fat and broad to thin and short.... Another very hardy and easy to grow; pleasant to the eyes and minimal maintenance needed when grown in a garden.
  23. This variety of bougainvillea is called Mrs eva. There are several other pink/purplish ones: they are Singapore Pink, Mrs Eva Mauve Variegata and Formosa and Sakura Variegata...
  24. This is a very hardy fern. And often it is considered as a parasite plant as it can grow between the branches of a larger tree. This fern is widespread in both Tropica Africa and Asia and also found in many areas of the pacific. Needs little or no maintenance at all. Give it space, and it can grow into a large diameter of 1 metre all round...
  25. The common name of this plant: Lipstick Palm, Maharajah Palm, Sealing Wax Palm and Pinang Rajah. The terms Maharajah and Rajah denotes "royalty" in Malay. This is one of the most popular plants, planted in a landed property especially at the front fencing area - as it is very good at camouflage or provide a nice screen 'privacy' screen for a home. And because it's stem (trunk) is red in colour; red at the frontage of a Chinese home symbolises auspiciousness. Family name: Palmae Synonyms: C. lakka Origin of this plant: South East Asia.
