  1. You can check out this write-up by Robert Lee, Geomancy.net:- Traditional & Modern Wedding Procedure:-http://www.geomancy.net/info/wedding-procedures.pdf As we Chinese have so many provinces and dialect groups; there are also many variants of Traditional Chinese practises. However, Robert Lee, has written this article many years back to give one an insight into the most common and typical Chinese practises. For example, selecting say a woman who is "barren" (no child) to a woman who has given birth to lots of child; the natural choice is to select a woman who has given to lots of (healthy) child as a helper is the obvious choice. Thus all these has to do with symbolism and feel good factor. In some practises, some dialect group asks for a healthy boy child to roll over the bed as the preference is for a healthy boy than a girl! To carry on the name of the family etc... Again, there is no "bible" or truly what is right or wrong, here. So long as the advice makes sense (not stupid) then go ahead with it. Certain cultural as additional practises. For example, traditional Teochews requests for Four (yes 4 types of gold) ... for the wedding. What is more important is to check with both parents. And usually if the grand mother is around; the family would seek further advice from them. Overall, the idea is that both immediate family are happy over the arrangements.
  2. These are some of the major considerations: 1. Use some simple imagination: for example, just stand at the main gate area and whenever a car/vehicle comes to "you"; 2. Can you see the car come directly at the main gate? Yes or No? 2.1 If no, then, check whether if it should come in a straight line; does it hit any part of the home. 2.2 For example, you may have a garden without trees and in a rare circumstance, if it does plough into the home does it hit say the living room area? 3. As alast resort; 3.1. How far away the main house is from the road: 3.2. How well "protected' is the main door from the "curved" sha qi of a car coming straight and turning out of the L junction? 3.3. In America, many homes don't have heavily fortified "fencing" and the main concern again is to avoid a car ploughing into the house. 4. Thus the last resort is to build a solid wall that often stops most cars dead in their track. 5. Frankly, although you had sketched it out; but overall, it means very little (unfortunately) as it does not show the way traffic flow : as there can be a vast difference between a LHD or a RHD (by the way LHD = Left Hand Drive and Right Hand Drive)... 6. If in doubt, don't buy it.
  3. These are some of the considerations:- 1. Your question in fact has been asked many (many) times in the past. Thus it is not something new. Or something that someone suddenly wakes up having a nightmare of it. 2. For example, there are concepts like these:- http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/Master_Bedroom:_Which_side_must_I_sleep_on 3.There are more millionaires and billionaires staying at ground level. And majority of them look, first at the macro Feng Shui. For example, they often get good advice on a home and how to "suck" as much wealth from the environment for their home. 4. Go do a search in the forum for things like "Quantum Leap in Feng Shui". And in doing so, questions like "Oh we now earn the same pay ... da da da di di di " 5. Such things are peanuts when we consider the bigger picture. A home with superior Shapes and Forms can be 100 times better than a home that one argues between " is it better for me or for her? You must tell me!" 6. Statistically; there will always be 50-50 of persons belonging to the East or West group. 7. Go find out more about " Ba Zi Feng Shui ". In theory, if there is a choice between selecting a home using the East-West group; the Ba Zi Feng Shui method is often the superior one. But wait! unfortunately, if you go to 10 Feng Shui practitioners; maybe only 3 can get a person's "element and strength" determined correctly. 8. This is why, it is better to get correct than totally wrong. For example, how hard is it to determine whether one is an East or West group. Because the calculation is close to even Primary 6 grade child can do it; there is less or NIL chance of getting it wrong. But professional Ba zi is uses no less than 6 x 2 sets of interactions of sets of Earthly branch and Heavenly steps to derive the answer. 9. The saying goes: Even if someone coats the interior of one's house with gold; but outside of the house and it's four walls are crumbling... one will certainly not have good Feng Shui.
  4. FIVE YELLOW These are some of the considerations:- 1. Frankly, it is so easy to ask someone else: " it is too risky " to stay in THIS BEDROOM. 2. You have correctly coined it "risks". Everything we do, we have to accept some risks. 3. In practical sense, many of us don't own a home with "x" number of bedrooms. Many in fact, have so few bedrooms. And just asking a family not to allow family members to sleep in a room is close to "kicking" them out of the home! 4. Of course, one can say that it is much better than being an "eunuch". But hey, ifthe family has all "girls-team" this statement becomes irrelevant. 5. In my life-time; I have noted comments by some clients who had their homes Feng Shuied before. One "culture-shock" was that some were even told never to use themaster toilet! 6. My GOD! Isn't this worst than being an eunuch (for the male breadwinner) who is suppose tooccupy say the master bedroom? 7. One of the dreaded coloursespeciallyfor a bedroom is "BRIGHT YELLOW".Thus one could reduce the incidencealso by avoiding "warm light" vs "cool daylight" lamp. 8. Risks are inherent in our life! 9. Usually, Feng Shui is not a "doom-all" neither is it a cure all! Everything or every risks cannot be borne on the shoulders of blame on Feng Shui. 10. The main blame is also on human (man factors) like healthy exercise; not staring the computer screen all day long.. And not about all the "rich" food that we consume. 11. Commonsense things like: space clearing; cleaniness in the bedroom; personal hygiene counts. Positive, non-duress or stress - from work can also affect one's health. 12. Modern inventions like air-cleaners or such cleaners cum ionizer's does wonders. 13.If at home, often open windows to let fresh air come-in. Morale of the story? I may consider asking the person who recommends me to "shut-down" my master toilet to become an eunuch. I will challenge him - are you man enough to use the sissors to "cut your joy-stickoff? By the way (BTW); my policy is one for one exchange. You bring one of those; I give you one of those play stations! Fair enough? Kevin K. wrote: Hi, If it is a 9-5 with base 2 (or combinations of them) , it is too "risky" to stay in the room even with metal cure? Kevin K 五黄 Wǔhuáng
  5. These are the considerations:- 1. It depends! 1.1. Based on Flying Star theory; one has to determine what 20 Year flying star are at a specific sector(s), first. 1.1.1 Thus if a sector has say star combinations like MS #6 with WS #5 Base star #1 then such a combination just looking at "moving average" of the combination of these three stars - need not use metal cure. 2. If a sector (based on the 20 Year flying star) has #9 with #5 with #2 or combinations of them; then even without looking at the annual star; preventive measures like the use of "metal" cure can be used. 3. Metal cures can also include: grandfather clock or mechanical ones that make "tick-tock" sound or those old Germain mantle clocks e.g. by Junghans or British Smith. Kevin K. wrote: Cecil, 3. But still need to install "metal" cure right?
  6. The familar twin door gods common in many temple main entrance door in Singapore... The two guardians...
  7. 1. Unlike the Interlace condominium, this seems like transporting us back to the mid-1970's high-rise development. 2. Many family with staying in their parents 5 Room HDB Point Block flats would find their unit very familiar to the many 5RM HDB Point Blocks dotting the entire Singapore especially those of the HUDC Laguna Park/View (at Marine Parade)and HUDC Braddel flats that were constructed in 1976. This is a plus point in terms of Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. 3. Point Blocks have an advantage in that usually if we do not open the main entrance door; often, there are three sides where "wind" can circulate freely in such a home. Here, the Eight Blocks of flats have sufficient space between. 4. Expected date of completion should beeither end of this year or perhaps by mid-2011 since progress is good. This development hasa total of 521 units. And is just 1 to 3 minutes walk to theNorth-East MRT line. (The MRT station is just beside it) 5. The developer is CENTURION KOVAN PTE LTD

  9. Circular steps are not "ederly" and "baby" friendly. However, this picture shows an auspicious "total of 5 steps" and semi-circular design...
  10. The pictures shows the common Malay style roofs. These roofs tower over the car-park behind the Geylang Serai Market and Food Complex: http://www.rednano.sg/sfe/allsearch.action?allsearch=true&view=map&querystring=1+geylang+serai Some of the apartments in either of Housing & Development Board (HDB)flats: Blocks 412, 414,416 will be affected by thetriangle roofs of the Geylang Serai Market and Food Complex. 11. Seen this? Our aim is to keep this bathroom clean Gentlemen Your aim will help. Stand closer; It's shorter than you think. Ladies Please remain seated for the entire performance Credit: This notice was placed in a Rocky Master outlet at Bras Basah / Seah Street corner.. Next time, if you do use their "throne" room; please follow their advice closer!
  12. 1. You can check whether the apartment unit's number from this free link http://www.geomancy.net/reports/reports-list/hselist-houseno.htm 2. Please note that it is not possible for me to look at every stack in the various condos. Sometimes, I do it selectively. At other times like this, when I am involved various project; I am unable to look at the many daily requests.
  13. Please refer to my previous illustration: where standing at A senario. If it does not match what was mentioned previously, then......
  14. These are some of the considerations: 1. The overall concept of placing the flutes or two flutes has more to do with SYMBOLISM in Feng Shui than anything else. 2. When it comes to symbolism; there is no hard or fast rule. 3. For example, it is not like studying to become a real life doctor of medicine. Here, a doctor must have an exact understanding of say where all the internal organs and veins in a person. 4. Symbolism in Feng Shui can be wide ranging and subject to lots of various interpretations. So long as it sounds reasonable, it can be used. 5. Thus the most common method of placing flutes especially a pair of flutes is shown under this link:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=19&mid=11871&new=) 6. What you mentioned, whether the mouth piece should be up or down differs greatly from many people. 7. Frankly, para 6 does NOT matter! As I had mentioned, there are even more concepts like buying a SET of Dragon and Phoenix flute. So, here again, there can be an issue of should I place dragon left or right of the phoenix. The placement of the dragon and phoenix flute: http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=13759&new=) 8. Again, IT DOES NOT MATTER! 9. What matters is symbolism in Feng Shui. The rationale for slanting the flutes is to symbolise a Ba Gua profile or outline! 10. Please see attachment. Feng Shui is not like medical science. Under Feng Shui, a person's heart, lung and even intestine can be all over the body.. and it is still absolutely OK! 11. The morale of the story, here is: If one wants to apply Feng Shui; don't study anatomy!
  15. 1. Frankly, the picture can't really tell anything as it is taken at angle and not a view directly standing e.g. as shown in the attachment marking in red "A" looking out towards "B". 2. Roughly, if the railway tracks is running parallel to your apartment block; this is acceptable or no major issue. 3. As there is a power line tower; this can pose as a sha qi or poison arrow. For example, if any of these power line towers slices into your apartment window or balcony opening; then this is a sha qi. Here, please see attachment. 4. The other concern is often "noise pollution". And some people may be affected by noisy train movements. This is not Feng Shui but does have an impact of Human or Man Luck factors. And even for children who may need concentration in their studies.
  16. In my opinion, 99.99 percent of all Shapes and Forms Feng Shui can be related to "commonsense". Ranging from toilets, bedrooms etc... Thus, if it has no basis in commonsense, then most likely it is hocus pocus and not Feng Shui. One major technique of Shapes and Forms is QI. And it is very useful to use our imagination especially to see how qi moves, meander - flows.
  17. These are some considerations:- 1. Your question is too (too) general. 2. For example, see attachment. There is a difference if your home's frontage is at B, C, D or E. 3. Other considerations include how the water drains from the home out of the home premises. 4. Any water position e.g. large canal behind the home or if the home is facing a T-junction etc... 5. There are frankly too many unanswered questions. 6. Equally important is the top-view or helicopter view of outline of the whole house and whether the home is squarish /rectagular or same trapeezoid outline of walls. 7. Frankly, in such a "state"; might as well flip a coin: Heads (auspicious) Tails (inauspicious) or vice-versa = anybody's guess. Claudine E. wrote: Hi I am looking at a property which is on land shaped as a right-angled trapeezoid. (see attached) The front of the property is the non-pointed part and the back is the point. Is this classified as a trapezoid or a triangle lot and is it too difficult to remedy? There are many such properties in my area. Thank you, Claudine
  18. 1. Since I believe she (could) be in Malaysia; it is worth considering getting expert help i.e. from a Geomancer in your country. 2. As frankly, short description(s) like what you had mentioned; is difficult to evaluate upon the limited information given. As it is also looking at whether the river is parallel to; curved in or outwards; which direction the water flows in relation to her new home. 3. Usually, there is another element: especially for older homes close to a river is the concern of white termites - this is controllable and not Feng Shui.
  19. 1. Since this is a home office, you can treat the home office sector within the home's Flying Star Chart - especially since it is not a large area. 2. Thus, you can super-impose the Flying Star (pie chart or 9 grid) and determine the sector star influences within that sector based on the actual home's facing direction. 3. You can also apply the Eight House concept to see if you are able to sit facing a good direction especially: "Prosperity" and/or "Excellent" sector. Anonymous wrote: Dear Master, I would also like to know if you do onsite consulting for clients outside of your country. With thanks. 4. The link for our International consultancy is within this link:- http://www.geomancy.net/consultation/consult-home/offsite-consultation.htm (Off-site. For on-site, a special quote is needed).
  20. These are some of the considerations:- 1. Attached please find an illustration. 2. I have already marked the centrepoint of your home. And you can use this as the basis of a Flying Star PIE chart to chart out the various sectors. Note: PIE chart is easier than the 9 grid in such a layout plan. 3. Based on your description, the side facing the riverlet should not be considered as the facing direction of the home, since the living areas is bounded by both the garage and the kitchen and that there are also the stairs and wash area, here. 4. For the purpose of drawing a Flying Star chart; the potential facing directions are either:marked in RED; A or B or C. 5. For those who had stayed in a home for quite sometime could try to map out the flying stars under facing direction A 343 degrees &/or B 30 &/or C 70 and see which chart matches the "history" of the home. 6. In your situation, the most likely (1st choice) facing direction is marking in red: A. And because of the slight slant in your home; another 2nd choice is marking B. While marking C is the breath of the house vs the length; there is a higher weightage : or the most yang or the most windows or surface area at marking A or B.
  21. Although South facing (Flying Star Period 8 South 2) has overall good Feng Shui, however, many units facing south would be affected by "Fire-at-Heaven's gate". For example, just take note of this unit confirguration. Where the balcony faces South and the stove is directly on the NW compass direction. Thus this unit suffers from "Fire at Heaven's gate". Many of such units are dotted within the ClementiWood's condominium. Will may have a bearing in the male breadwinner's career as well as 'no luck - from heaven'.
  22. ClementiWoods (Clementi Woods) condo is in the final touch-up... TOP pretty.. soon!
  23. Further to what I had mentioned: 1. The country is a Right-Hand Drive or RHD country. 2. Again, just imagine an out of control Toyota Pirus or Lexus SUV.... Source: Four Dead Due to Toyota Stuck Accelerator Pedal - autoevolution or Memo Reveals Tragic Details Of Stuck Pedal Lexus Crash (Pics 3. House No. 1's important structures are away from the direct path of the T-junction. Thus if the car ploughs in a straight line; it does not "affect" any major structure of the home other than maybe the main gate; the drive-way and or garage.
  24. Heard this recent converstation at the Toyota dealership:- Tom (Potential semi-luxury car purchaser) : "I like the drive of this Toyota Camry" Eager salesman: "Yes, this is a semi-luxury car that will fit your bill. Why semi-luxury? This is because; this is one level below our Lexus luxury cars". Tom: "How reliable is it? Will I get the same problem as those American ones where it may bring up the average risks of a car ploughing into my house in a "T-junction" Eager salesman: "This car is so well built that now; even Singapore Comfort Delgro is considering this model as their replacement taxi as they found that the Hundai Sonata's are not that reliable" Tom: "This is bad news! Currently already one taxi company already uses this model! And if Comfort Delgro distributes this to their taxi drivers... I won't want to drive this model" Eager salesman: "Oh! -- tongue tied ... feeling down and out" Tom: " Futhermore, you know, I am a Chinese Hokkien. And I won't want to be caught dead in a CAMRY!" Eager salesman: "Feeling even more depressed...asked: WHY SIR?" Tom: "For us Hokkiens - CAMRY means " Kiam Lui " = OWE MONEY in hokkien". Tom: "Fine for taxi drivers since every day before they start their shift; they already owe money; thus this CAMRY car is a perfect fit" Eager salesman: "OIC! Would you want to consider our SUV instead.." Tom: "I don't want to die young, especially flipped upside down or die like that in your SUV! Go read the newspaper or reviews!" Eager salesman: "Why don't you consider our unique MARK "X" instead?" Tom: "For Camry, at leastit is only "owe money". For mark X; I don't want to be marked for life and further; we Chinese feel that X is inauspicious!" Choy...
  25. 1. Suunto only influences your luck when you use their instruments. 2. Feng Shui focuses on Earth Luck, or the luck that comes from your home or office. 3. What about Geomancy? 3.1 In the past, for example, from the 1960s to the early 1980s, a geomancer could not survive by practicing Feng Shui alone. 3.2 To stay in business, geomancers offered services for all stages of a person's life. 3.3 When a child is born, parents or grandparents often consult a geomancer for advice on naming the newborn. 3.4 Geomancers may also provide Chinese astrology services to predict the future or offer guidance for those seeking advice. 3.5 Feng Shui services are available for those looking to improve their home or office. 3.6 Finally, Feng Shui principles are used to select good burial sites for the deceased. 4. Many years ago, most geomancy companies included "Geomancy" in their name instead of "Feng Shui." 5. This is why we chose the domain name Geomancy.net rather than something like Feng Shui.xxx.
