  1. Nearby.. Tibetian temple: Thekchen choling and the Whitley Road fish ball noodle stall at a Foch Road Shophouse/Hotel 81 fragrance. And another assorted roasted meat stall:
  2. Recent photos of the exterior of Arc 380. Almost there...
  3. Futher downstream from Thomson Road.. is the Ascent @ 456, Public Mansions and Giffard Mansions: Middle of photo is Giffard Mansions; right of photo is Balestier Plaza: Public Mansions: Ascent @ 456:
  4. VIIO @ Balestier Road's thin profile with it's "base" sits exactly the North-South alignment of Balestier Road. Stacks 03, 04, 05 and 06 most certainly has "pool view". Not it's own pool though but that of Ramada Hotel. This pool is a blessing in disguise; as it allows unobtructed view. Other than stack 03 which looks towards the side of Ramada Hotel. Common sense says that one should avoid direct afternoon sun. With all year round afternoon sun.. there is no where to hide.. for the stacks/units facing West. E2 facing stacks: It is such a waste that the combined auspicious wealth stars are wasted at the "rear" of the house. This is usually where the kitchen and yard are. W2 facing stacks: All four stacks directly faces the Punggol Reservior which is advantages. 4.1 As the frontage of this facing has the double auspicious combinations of water wealth stars. The only drawback as mentioned earlier is also the DIRECT afternoon sun. Wealth but "cooked" or "roasted" by the afternoon sun. Thus one must really, really love Balestier area to purchase a home, here.
  5. Kallang Riverside @ 51 Kampong Bugis (Freehold condo) Units are either N1 or S1 facing. From a Shapes and Forms point of view, riverside view is always the first choice. As the forms prevail over the stars (Flying Stars). Under Flying Star Feng Shui: N1 has the auspicious double 8s at it's frontage. Good as it's frontage has a water position. Good if the master bedroom is located at NE sector. As it has good auspicious star combinations of MS#6 + WS#1. If a bedroom is located at East is good for a bedroom cum study. The rest of other sectors has inauspicious stars. And may need to be disarmed. S1 The combined auspicious wealth stars MS#8 + WS#8 are at the "rear" of the unit. Such a waste as usually this is the kitchen & yard area. It will be good if a bedroom is located at East sector: good for studies. If the main entrance is located at NE, this will be excellent as there are good combinations of MS#1 with WS#6 in this sector.
  6. Recent visit to Palm Gardens. Sol Acres can be seen from a distance from The newly opened Keat Hong Mirage shops. Includes a McDonald's...
  7. For some who has not lived so close to pool water; In some instances, immediately after moving in and if the windows or balcony panels are opened.. Possible in my opinion for some in the first six months to have respiratory tract concerns. But after that often once get used too, are okay. Fortunately, this only happens if the pool is aligned in an unblocked East to West direction-:)
  8. Frankly, there are so many versions of Ba gua mirrors. Assuming it is this kind of red mirror: There is the concave or conVEX version. Others include trigram symbols on the outer rim combined with a circular mirror : flat, conCave or conVEX. It would be good if there is a photo of it. Else dangerous to give a "what if" advice..
  9. Generally, Stack 34: 1. Oops! Of all places a stack next to the eating house: lower floors can sometimes get the smell and noise: "Lower your voice after 10.30pm"... 2. Lower storeys got the edge of the Electrical Sub-station ESS aimed towards it. Higher floors no issue. Just the stigma of living close to an ESS. 2.1. Scientifically no issue with living near to an ESS. Many even live directly above it for years. But tell it to the future potential buyer. 3. Perpetual afternoon sun all year round. Not direct.. but slanted at an angle. Hopefully the master bedroom wall at west is not constantly bathe with afternoon sun. And at even 7 or 8 pm.. the heat soaks or oozze out into the master bedroom. 4. Low floors also got traffic/vehicle/bus/motor-bike noise. Otherwise, higher floors has good Shapes and Forms in the form of good waterway views. Stack 170: 1. Stack 172 has a sharp corner from it's neighbouring block across the waterway sunrise I 2. Stack 170 overall has better Shapes and Forms then stack 34. Other than the afternoon sun soaking into the master bedroom wall. 3. Low floors expect afternoon sun from Punggol East Road. Otherwise, better than 34. Better stacks are those in 654B facing the waterway.
  10. Sir, you failed to pay 10 years worth of Fire insurance for your home. Thus we have to evict you! "I tell you, no need, lah!" My unit is directly above the "Bukit Panjang Fire Post! That's why!! Are you blind? Can't you see this?
  11. The main frame is solidly cemented to the floor + stainless steel. Often gives a false sense of security for the novice. As they often only secure the front wheels! And a bicycle thief often leaves the lock and front wheels intact! This design is identical to the above as it. The main difference is that it is slanted at an angle and bolted to the planter side wall via a strip of stainless steel bar. Location: The National Library at Middle Road:
  12. More photos.. It is Common for the Organizers to set a long table and place "empty" chairs. And each table and chair may have a cup of tea and in this case assorted tins of can food.. See photo below:/
  13. Was at Changi Point for breakfast before going to a nearby Feng Shui audit Chinese 7th month celebrations
  14. The Terrace, and the opened three balcony sliding doors..
  15. Let's face it. In Singapore and Hong Kong: a number like 8 or 88 sells... This block was completely sold out. The Terrace block 88
  16. Gay world (Happy World) Originally known as Happy World, Gay World offer an escape for families between 1930s and 1960s. Standing out from other `worlds', it housed a covered stadium that could seat up to 7,000. Top-class boxing matches, basketball, martial arts and other sporting evens were held here. Wrestlers such as "Tiger Ahmad" and "King Kong" attracted crowds. At it's prime, it was even lauded as the "greatest coveredstadium in South East Asia". The Octagonal shaped Happy world stadium was where Singapore first played host to Thomas Cup in 1952, which Malaya had famously won and reigned for three consecutive badminton tournaments. In 1966, Happy World was renamed Gay World Stadum when the park changed hands. Having opened in the 30's the popular venue was againg, and by 1972, the Basketball Association of Singapore was calling for the (then) National Sports Promotion Board (NSPB) to build a large indoor facility to accomodate more spectators.
  17. HDB flats facing MSCP roof-tops Especially when buying a new HDB flat, do understand which floor the MSCP is. And try to avoid buying a unit roughy within the range of it. To avoid the unit's opening facing either a lamp post or a tree. An shown in this photo: in red: Others photos:
  18. Location: Outside The Malacca Hotel along the five-foot way Previously I walked by the entrance of The Malacca Hotel on Still Road. I noticed three individuals diligently stacking numerous gold paper offerings to be burned. Wow! So many gold paper offerings... Back in the day, it was a tradition to fold each piece of gold paper into an ingot... Those were the times without TVs or the internet.
  19. So happens that this building is the "Lee" clan. And my family's Sir name is "up there" in the photo.. on TOP of this building...
  20. This 3D Buddha painting was popular in the year 2002.
  21. In my opinion, based on the distance and the non-threatening nature or (look) of the RC ledges, personally to me; it is a non-issue. Since it blends with the thickness of the rest of that block's facade. But again, there are always differences in opinions. And a overzealous person, may "cry foul".
