  1. 1. Even if one needs to be "surrounded by" metal, there must be an acceptable level. Usually, if you had engaged an FS practitioner, then check with them. 2. If you are D.I.Y. then be equally reasonable. 3. Metal includes: e.g. circle or oval shape. And glass.
  2. 1. Please note that aupicious dates are FREE for the next 30days at url: dates.geomancy.net 2. Usually not more than TWO persons dates are looked at. Else ofthen more than TWO difficult as it is to find dates that match even TWO persons. 3. Usuaaly the most senior comes first. 4. With some imagination you MAY check out the rests dates by individually or two at the time.
  3. Let me share with everyone ... 1. My original forum was a third party forum started around 1996. We (Geomancy.net) started our very own forum two years later. This is where we have maintained every single message since then. 2. During that time, there were few Traditional Feng Shui websites and many "Fung Shoey" websites catering to the Fixed Template Fung Shoey appeared nearly every day! 3. For example, if one checks back quite alot of forum messages, it has to do with discussion on Traditional Feng Shui vs Black Hat Sect (Lin Yun) and Fixed Template Feng Shui. 4. In the past, there were few resources dedicated to Traditional Feng Shui. And many western Feng Shui sites, tempted people to use the so easy to apply " Fixed template Fung Shoey". 5. In the past, I mentioned any Tom, Dick or Harry with some imagination and a flair for writing or web design can easily create a site or book on this topic. 6. Thank GOD! Nowadays, lesser and lesser people are taken in by such "fixed template" Fung Shoey! It is GOOD NEWS! Morale of the story 1: " Scrap fixed template Fung Shoey" Morale of the story 2: "Never too late to pick up authentic Feng Shui"
  4. 1. In my opinion, try to avoid sites that has only one objective: Sell, sell and sell.... 2. For example, many people have bad experience with some "Feng Shui" masters. 2.1 Sometime many years back, there was some information that a wife got divorced in the US, because she had too much roll over credit card debts thanks to a Feng Shui master that went to her home to do Feng Shui and sold her many commercial products! 2.2 Commercial products are easily produced and sold at very high margins! And some Feng Shui practitioners will always "invade" a home, and tell the "victim"; you have to purchase this painting. The victim:" Where do I purchase it from" The Feng Shui (CON) man: " Come to my shop ". He charges a bomb on this "useless" painting. 3. Thus, try to be cautious of anyone selling commercial products! This is a good start!
  5. 1. Unfortunately, since no two situation is the same: 1.1 for a Feng Shui practitioner; for a bedroom, we often try to visualisemore importantly where the bed will be located. In many instances, even if the bedroom is located withintwo or more sectors, usually we would find that the bed-head and if we lie down on the bed, where is the majority of our body lies. If so, this sector should be one way of checking to see if there are no bad sectors or if so, some cure need to be placed. 1.2 Following from 1.1. Rather than firstly get confused whether this sector lies in North or NW, we should take a look at the Flying star numbers for both North and NW. 1.2.1 In some situations, North may have #5 and #2. While say NW may not have this #5 or #2. If so, to play safe, if part of the sector has such nasty #5 (misfortune/sickness) star(s), even if NW does not have, we should then chart out on the cautious side that this BEDROOM should avoid: e.g. BRIGHT YELLOW colours which may accidentally inflame #5 or #2. 1.3 In addition, we may review further (by visualising) how qi would be "flowing" into this bedroom. For example, if the entire row of windows is closer to the NW sector and North is primarly within or closer to a corner (such as the wardrope) area; then, by virtue that there is higher probability that qi coming into the room should be coming from NW sector. And in this senario, we may consider NW as having a higher influence vs North (where qi may not be so active). 1.4 Thus, as we try to understand where the mouth of the house, we should try to look at or imagine how qi would normally flow in or from -- especially more prevalent thru windows or door(s). 2. Feng Shui as we have reviewed as I have revealed, honestly speaking is not an EXACT science! Most of the time, the higher success factor is to either visualise and apply logic and commitment in trying our best to look at all ways / methods towards a better assessment. Thus there is no such thing as only one way or method! 3. Another concept borrowed from SONY corporation: which many years ago, has this slogan " Research makes the difference". 4. In Singapore, a respected jeweller has this slogan " Tradition of excellence ". Simply we should not compromise - but have a passion in what we do.
  6. 1. In the past, I mentioned another way of looking at concepts or even homes that "we have or had alreadypurchased" or lived-in. 2. The clue is "the rich gets richer... and the poor...hmm". 3. This is two examples: The rich gets richer because they can afford the best homes with "quantum leap" in Feng Shui. Homes that they purposely bought that is "aimed" to bring them luck - sometimes on their own or with the help of good Feng Shui practitioners". Money Talks! 4. For many common folks, how we match these rich people? 4.1 Imagine, if one's home Feng Shui is compared to a "10 year old 1,000 cc car". Tell me, can a Feng Shui practitioner or even "GOD" make your home the equivalent of a new Porche or even a Rolls Royce Silver Shadow? Yes / No? 4.2 In another example: if we are driving a small 1,000cc car and have a family of 7. Tell me, how are you going to squeeze all your family into a car equivalent of a 4 to 4 seater? Tie your wife to the roof? Lock your son in the booth? If you need to transport 7 persons, for heaven's sake, get a 7 seater MPV! (Fullstop!) Some of think it can be done. That our "run down" car can perform like the new porche! 4.3 The second silly mistake many people make is: Instead of fixing the leak(s), first: (leak = wealth, health, harmony); we assume that we should instead invest in purchasing, products that only line the pocket of the seller. Frankly, with such thinking... try to guess the outcome...
  7. Apologies, if this message uses "strong words"... it is not directed at anyone. But.. just to emphasise that we should not expect more than what .. something cannot give us.. back... 1. Thanks, I have re-edited and removed the corrupted message. As I was on the road and posted it via 3G broadband connection. 2. In my earliest forum messages (as far back as 1998 onwards) I actually mentioned: 2.1 Clearly try to understand what each concept is about: What is it's aim. 2.2 Know it's strengths and weakness 3. For example, for the 8 Mansions: the idea is that it helps to identify how suitable a home is to a persons. And between say sleeping facing a good direction, for example, first choice is to see if we can sleep in a good sector or direction and nice-to have bed head facing a good direction. 4. Now you are asking the question: Based on this concept, can we do something to improve! 5. Please look at what I mentioned under Para 2 to 3. Is it possible to do so under the 8 Mansions? Yes or no? 6. Yes, if you can get the earthquake to tilt your home or change all the compass directions. "Silly" and not possible rite? Who in the world can tilt a building with fixed foundation? 7. Here, the clue is that you cannot do more than what the theory or concept can give? How can one try to squeeze more from this theory? 8. Please check out other concepts: Flying Star has its use and with it we can try to neutralise sha qi or improve qi - if that sector of the bedroom is no good under 8 M for a person. And we can use Ba zito harmonise the room. For example, if the person is a Strong Water person, and if the sector can accept Metal colours all the better. Thus, please don't ask me again how this theory can provide answers or help improve your life! Fine if you are looking for a new home and manage to construct entirely new home. Otherwise "go to a con-man" to seek comfort! Anonymous wrote: Dear Master Lee, Is there some problem with your msg cos it is all jumbled up? Understand that this is a very common/hot topic being discussed that is always confused the beginners like me and often the proposed solution is to spend less time in that direction/sector. My confusion is whether we should enhance the element of that direction or we should introduce counter-element to the element of that direction. Thank again for the advice.
  8. 1. Yes, your assessment seems very logical and "difficult" to fault. And from our best knowledge, the picture window fits the idea of what we would "majority" of the time see where most of the qi may come-in. 2. In the past, for a person to apply Feng Shui is so... simplictic. Especially in China e.g. in Beijing majority of the homes face a certain direction. 3. It is not possible to create a "perfect" model. If we really want to create a perfect model, we have to understand the "hi and low" pressure zones (for those who had studied geography). For those living close to the sea, in the day time, the land form is "warm" and winds may blow from sea to land and vice-versa. 4. Take another example: Occupations and ba zi. For example, most of us would consider say : Marketing or sales as the "Fire element". But the clue here is that "majority" of the time, the key job function is sales. Thus, we can say that most of the time, the person performing sales is a marketing or the fire element. But, it is not surprising to find a sales-person teaching clients how to use a machine etc... Teaching others relates to the wood element. And in all jobs, there is some element of each element in a job: Metal (driving) etc.. 5. Like you are trying to do is to DETERMINE the MAJORITY of the time, you feel that qi would "enter" the home MOST of the time i.e. this is what you feel is the "mouth" of the home. In fact, if we are aware that this is indeed the area where qi comes in; we may even "tailor-made" or "TAP" qi to our benefit. 6. So long as we are honest; and feel that we have a valid argument, then go for it! And hope for the best! This is much like "many Kung Fu film stories" we see on the TV: For example, the Kung Fu show: starts off with a novice Kung Fu learner. He gets bullied. And even some badly beaten. And some-how he manages to get to learn real Kung Fu from one or even many masters. And even learn Kung Fu after fighting with the "enemy". He then even learn to try to counteract his enemy's style(s). So long as we continously understand or try to understand and learn as "many styles" as possible, we can then try our best to adopt the best practises. We cannot always say that : our method is "superior" or the best! In the past, I did mentioned that many GREAT Feng Shui masters, learn not just one method but try their best to understand as much methods as they can. Anonymous wrote: Both my door and my living window open everyday. Due to the extent of my picture window (that occupies almost one of the walls of the living room and extends from the floor to the ceiling), my living room recieved most of the lights from it. Due to the design of my building (i.e. like C-shape), my door actually is facing "inwards" i.e. is blocked by a wall and it is like under a shade from the sun. However, on certain months of the year, sunshine does come into my house from the main door during the evening time. Based on this situation, is it more obvious that i should take the picture window as my basis for the house's FD?
  9. 1. As your unit's facing and the one parallel to yours overlooking or facing SE seems to be an appropriate choice to be considered as the facing direction (in particular for your unit) in the very unique block design. For other units within your block, would have to be further investigated i.e. the interior layout in relation to where the main door vs living room etc... 2. The NW main door facing seems enclosed while the SE overlooks a "clear space".
  10. 1. Please note that 8M has its limitations. And this info has been covered many times previously in this forum. 2. Since Flying star with 8M belong to the same Compass school, both plus shapes and forms Feng Shui are to be used together.
  11. 1. Even if many Feng Shui practitioners consider the entire facing direction of this (attachment) "C"-shaped building's facing direction is reading from marking "A" to "B"; 2. It is said that in the attached illustration, if there are #6 units in the entire block; Units #3 and #4 is suppose to have better qi. This is generally the view point shared amongst majority FS practitioners. Please see attachment
  12. Let me share with you some of my further observations:- 1. "Camp 2" - practitioners, (in my opinion) are strong believe of bringing in the "theory" of the main door as the facing direction (taken from direct context of how the frontage is usually read from LANDED property. 2. "Camp 1" - Tries to understand where is the "mouth " of the house. Like our mouth, (and nose) is where we "obtain qi" or use this to further enhance the qi of a house. And therefore, the most "yang" location is where qi "often" comes in most of the time and thus try to tap it. Again, no two homes are the same. And "THERE ARE FRANKLY NO RIGHT OR WRONG ANSWERS"! As you can see, both sides have their "valid" aguements for or against one another's concept(s).
  13. Attached please find an illustration of the usual way a "C" shaped building's facing direction is taken. Many Feng Shui practitioners would try to locate the "facing direction" of a building. For some building(s) this could be the front porch or when we look down to the development, there is a water position etc...
  14. 1. To be really honest with you currently there are two major camps with regards to the "Facing Direction". There are more sub-sub classifications. 2. Everyone is overall clear with landed property. But for high-rise; as mentioned above, there are two major camps:- "Camp 1": As you had mentioned: takes into consideration the most Yang qi or opening. Thus for some high rise, it is straight forward where the block of flat or apartment is commonly rectangular and all units face a certain direction. In Singapore, these are the one to three room older Housing Board flats. Here, the main door and the facing direction i.e. the window are similar. Camp 1: Plays it safe, by giving a general remark that one should find the most yang facing direction. "Camp 2": Usually states that 1st to the 5th floor should be the facing direction of the block of flat. While higher floors, the reading is taken inside the house facing the main door. Here, Camp 2's argument is that windows etc.. are not doors where qi can flow in. It must be a main door. In Singapore, often the practitioner will ask the owner do you or will you have the habit to open the main door and leave it open often? If yes, then one might review the situation and use the main door instead. Thus Camp 1's argument is that if one opens the door, close it most of the time and windows are often opened more often than the main door - slam shut as many living in a condo often, does, than Camp 1 hasa stronger argument that since constant qi doesnot flow in most of the time from the main door, then, we should consider qi coming from the most yang location. 3. Most of the Singapore Feng Shui practitioners "use the most yang" qi 'facing direction" to determine it. Thus, usually based on this it is the side of the home with the most windows especially most of the time it could be standing in the living room looking outwards. 7. Living high can in most instances reduce the impact of sha qi at cross roads.. the worst impact is often the ground floor and/or the 2nd floor. However, "white noise" or noise pollution occurs loudest for different homes depending on the height of the road, the distance of the block from the road, any damper like highwalls / trees etc... For example, someone living at 3rd storey may not be affected by road noise. But due to the distance of the house from say a highway, maybe the loudest road noise "attacks" say storeys 7 or 9 etc... Anonymous wrote: I'm very new to FS and really hope to learn from all the learned forum'ers here. The concept that I'm currently trying to learn is the 8M theory. And i have some problems trying to decide which facing direction(FD) should be the FD for my house. My main door is facing NW and my living room is in the SE. One of the walls of my living room is a picture window (facing SE)that extends from the floor to almost the ceiling. Based on what i have learned, the FD for my house may not be that of my main door especially I'm living on the 13th floor. From some sources, the FD for the house should be the one that receives lots of sunshine and activity, and where there is an open space in front. Is this theory true? My concern is that with these two choices i can derive two house gua that have two different impacts on my house sectors. Please advice. Another question is that my picture window is facing a cross junction and from i learn, by living high, the impact from the "sha chi" is reduced. is this true? Thank for your attention.
  15. 1. High probability of the male (if he is a bachelor) to encounter the opposite sex and this may lead to romance. 2. The above is based on "vertical Flying Star Feng Shui" analysis. Under Flying Star there is the "horizontal Flying Star" which many know as the common "Flying Star Feng Shui with the 15 different sectors" .... and Period e.g. Period 7, Period 8 etc... Christopher H. wrote: Hi, I tried the free Flying Star House Number and got the following interpretation: [3] & [4] - Star 3 represents Male. Star 4 represents Female. 1. If we were to approach this subject based on or in-the-name of "Feng Shui" then there are two concepts: 1.1. Symbolism in Feng Shui 1.2. Commonsense Aproach to Feng Shui (and virtually anything) 2. A sword is symbolic of a knife and often, any Feng Shui practitioner would advise us not to display such an item in full view of common - rest areas such as a living room or dining room or a bedroom. 3. This is considered as a "sha qi" or poison arrow. Thus, it is "safer" to display it one's personal study room or a special lockable display shelf - is a better choice. The rationale, here is that we do not want any one in the home especially family members to easily get hold of it. For example, young children, they may just be out of our sight for a short while and they may just draw the sword and accidentally cause an "accident". 4. Para 3, has to do more with Commonsense. Anything that is not "safe" should be kept higher or locked up. Especially those affecting our "safety". "The idea here is "Better safe than sorry".
  17. As mentioned in an earlier reply to one of your questions: the model that you are using originated as / from " A modern invention - invented by Lin Yun "..... All Traditional Chinese Feng Shui sites and practitioners steer clear of such "rubbish" (bull-shit) in the name of "Feng Shui"..... http://qi-whiz.com/node/35- The Confession of Lin Yun ....
  18. Dear Miki, 1. The fixed template model that you are using is a modern invention. The rationale why there are tensof dozens of such practitioner is that any "Tom, Dick or Harry" can choose to become an "expert" in the field of "Feng Shui" just by telling peopleto super-imposesuch a template. 2. The rationale why such a template type of "Feng Shui" is popular as it is "fixed" and anyone who has some "creativity" can simply write a book e.g. Chapter 1 - Introduction to the Ba Gua Chaper 2 - North - Career sector ..... And pass this book as a work of "Feng Shui" ....... 3. Traditional Feng Shui websites (inclusive of Geomancy.net) does not use such a "scheme". And thus will not comment more on such "hocus-pocus" modern invention... 4. This model you are currently using was invented by " Lin Yun". Check out this article, at Kate Bramble's website: http://qi-whiz.com/node/35 - The Confession of Lin Yun. The joke is on him! Anonymous wrote: I heard different oppinions how to apply Bagua to a garden: 1. First opinion is that I apply the Bagua to the house and then extend the areas to the garden. 2. 19. 1. Under the area of "symbolism" in Chinese culture;in general there are twopictorial representations with horse(s):- 1.1. In the past, pictures were drawn of an "official" mounting a horse saddled with "treasure". This pictureis said to represent the hope that the person displaying this picture/painting can achieve a high post or position. 1.2 Nowadays, new pictures or paintings referring to the above are "rare". 2. Some Feng Shui practitioners recommend to their clients to place a statue of a galloping horse (there are several replicas of beautiful ancient galloping horses). This figurine is placed facing the main door. The Feng Shui practitioner would say that if one places this horse facing the main door, it is hoped that the owner will be able to travel i.e. be it for leisure or for business. 3. If it is a painting of several horses or a 100 or 1000 horses, the idea (is or was) to face the main door. Again with the hope that the horses will rush out to gather more business for the owner. There is a very famous painting with a group of galloping "wild" horses.... 4. If the painting has a person saddled on the horse and often, it is shown with ornate objects of wealth, then, the Feng Shuii practitioner will often recommend that the painting face inwards into the home. The idea is that wealth is "brought" into the home andnot see it leave the home. 5. Thus the above is all about "symbolism" in Chinese culture or some consider these part of "Feng Shui" luck. And the above has nothing to do with one's Chinese Astrology sign.
  20. 1. Under the Chinese Astrology, yes, the rat's worst pairing is the horse. As they are considered direct opposites. 2. The main concern about learningor undestanding Chinese astrology is that especially after one has read such a material, and if the material sows doubt it often may lead to: self fullfilling prophecy or auto-suggestion. 3. Thus, since this already makes you feel uncomfortable, then, from a "human or man" luck factor, for this reason, you may consider just removing it.
  21. 1. In my opinion, not sure if you have knowledge or may need to seek help from a Feng Shui point of view. 2. Often, the problem can be corrected especially by applying Flying Star Feng Shui: #3 May need to disarm this "bad wood" element. #5 misfortune (and sickness) stars. 3. If Flying Star Feng Shui is applied, and once one disarms especially these two nasty stars, it will certainly alleviate the problem! 4. Sorry, it is not within this scope of this forum to work out the chart for your home nor dwell deeper into it as no two homes arethe same and such things needs full analysis and work. Quote: Anonymous wrote: Can someone please help me. Since I moved into a new apartment in September, my oldest son has been arrested for underage drinking, 2 times. 22. These are some ofthe major Feng Shui considerations:- 1. Check to see if (especially) the direct opposite neighbour's home roof is not like a pointed arrow especially if it suppose to slice thru the proposed new main door of your home and or windows. 2. Also do check for any street lamps or signposts that slices or will slice the main door and or windows. 3. If you are constructing a new home under Flying Star Period 8: then if your home has clear space at the frontage, then a better facing direction is the Flying Star SW1 facing. As there is a water star #8 current prosperity at the facing direction. And there is a mountain star #8 at the back of the house. If the home suits this configuration, then a SW1 facing is most ideal. 3. If the frontage is blocked especially if a two or three storey home facing (yours) then a SW2 or SW3 would be beneficial as there is a Mountain Star #8 at the frontage .... 4. Water existing the home is crucial as usually two sectors are very auspicious water drainage directions and often one is meant for "power and authority" for those staying in a specific landed property. 5. Please take note that changing the door direction to many good Feng Shui practitioners is deemed "temporary" only and the qi effect is not as good as the real qi coming in naturally from the actual facing direction. 6. From a traditional Feng Shui point of view, the male breadwinner's 8 house chart is considered, first - as what you have done. Another form is some Feng Shui practitioners use the person's element and strength to determine the best facing direction or how suitable the direction is. The 8 house chart is acceptable (full stop). And for those who use the ba zi method, is tomany pracititioners as "a finer point" or method. BUT, using both can be "suicidal" for some as these two may conflict and one may be at odd's end.

  24. Frankly there are some materials on this subject, but are scattered all over the website: 1. Mirror facing Dining table Try to use one piece or three pieces instead of two equal sized ones. If we can visualise, two pieces when placed against the dining table is slicing the middle of (or spliting) the middle of the dining table, inauspicious. 2. There are many other exampes of mirrors in a bedroom, facing entranceetc...
  25. Frankly, the house number analysis is based on "Vertical Flying Star" Feng Shui - where each level is suppose to have different qi flow. It is nice-to-have an apartment that has a good number (full-stop). However, this is not the end, but one of the many other considerations. In Feng Shui it is the earth luck: thus "location, location and location is equally as important. And it involves a close-look or study of the site, the building and neighbouring building / roads etc.. Thus the more info, one has, to evaluate the home, the better. As the "Vertical Flying Star" Feng Shui is specific to just looking especially at which level or storey the apartment is (full-stop). It cannot tell more than that. Quote: Greetings to all!
