  1. 1. Excluding one's Kua, Period 8, in general, NE1 & SW1 can enjoy sum-of-ten especially if the interior layout is squarish/rectangular shaped. For NE2/3 and/or SW2/3, can benefit from Parent String effect. Both homes should have as much open space if possible especially for the ground level : living/dining area. 2. Drainage out of the plot of a landed property is very important! For example, I have attached two samples:showing the degrees where drainage out of the home should best be located. Sample 1: NE1 Period 8 landed property. Note the specific degrees where drainage MUST exit the property. Sample 2: SW2 Period 8 landed property. Again, where the water or drainage exits the property is critical. 3. There are many other factors in addition to the above, when building a home.
  2. 1. South is the three killings sector thus avoid any renovations within this sector. 2. If this (South) or any other sectors have; for example flying star numbers like: MS#3 with WS#4 and Base #9, then it would be best to keep that sector "quiet". Thus if one's home and that sector has this then if we need to implement a cure, try not to use "noisy metal like wind chimes etc..." 3. Thus, it is fool-hardy to try to arrange the TV console area each year! Does not make any sense. Especially nowadays, many homes have a feature wall and some even have their TV sets "nailed" to the wall. 4. Thus, if we have fixed our TV sets or unmoveable console, it does not make sense to move it. Even if our TV consoles are moveable, since many years back, don't recall anyone making so much effort (trouble) to move it year by year to a new position.
  3. Usually, or symbolically, a mole on one's back (of the body) may be considered as a "burden". But a mole on one's chest is very common. However, based on the concept: if it is not seen it is no longer a threat holds true! In the past, many people are concerned of moles especially at areas where it can be seen i.e. facial mole(s). In my opinion, it is highly unlikely that removing a mole on one's check can change one's life directly. However, one cannot discount one's mood i.e. if removing a mole gives the person perhaps some "uplift" or hope, and is not dangerous or leave some scars.. then no harm.. trying, thou. Quote: Anonymous wrote: i will like to know if removing my chest mole will change my life?
  4. 1. For a landed property, the best location is the covered porch leading to the main door. 2. For apartments, if the corridor is a common corridor, then, you may consider hanging inside near the main door. Quote: Angelia T. wrote: About the 6 hollow metal rod chime; should I hang it at the frontage of the main door, facing the corridor or can I hang it inside the house near the main door?
  5. Dear Spring, Traditional Chinese customs does not have a "Tai Sui" talisman i.e. they are not called Grand Duke nor Tai Sui talisman. However, there are some standard charms to be placed above doors (purpose? To ward off evil). The blessed charms are obtained usually from Taoist priests. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  6. Dear Joselyn, 1. Can understand your concern. It is very common even locally in Singapore for families to move their stove to the back of the home. But do take note of the following situations: 1.1 If possible for married couples, avoid having two stoves i.e. one in the back yard area and other stove in the "dry kitchen". 1.2 If there are two stoves installed, try to make sure that all (burners) hobs or burners add together totals = even number. Thus if the backyard stove has say 3 (burners) hobs, then the dry kitchen should preferably have 3 hobs and the combined total no. of (burners) hobs = 6. 1.3 Those induction stoves are not counted or should not be counted. Thus, if you have a stove at the backyard, preferably, the stove should be a two or four burner type. And if you have a "flat" induction stove in the dry kitchen, this is not counted as a (burner - stove). As it does not "shoot" out flames. Quote: Joselyn C. wrote: 1) I am currently staying in a rented double storey house and caring for 2 toddles age 1 and 3. Ineed your advise as I wanted to move my stove to thebackyardfor the safety of the children, they always play with knobs on the stove it is very dangerous. The backyard is an enclosed area with polycarbonate skylite roofing, metal zinc fencing and cemented flooring. It is very spacious, 5' x 18', well lighted and airy and it is situated at the south sector of the house. Quote: Joselyn C. wrote: 2) Is the placement of refrigerator opposite the sink ok? 2. As both are considered "water element" because fridge can contain liquid (water) or is laden with water moisture it is perfectly normal to have the sink face the frige. 3. Traditionally, in Singapore, the advice for those who do up their new unfurnished kitchen to have the sink slightly higher than the stove e.g. by a few cm. But nowadays, with 2,000 or more condos, these usually come with standard kitchen fittings thus the stove and sink are on the same level. Thus, what I mentioned earlier is more for public housing flats - not compulsory, today. thou. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  7. 1. Feng Shui is about location, location and location. 2. The above takes prime importance, first priority over the interior layout of the home. 3. Have come across several homes like yours with such staircases at the middle of the home. From landed property to penthouses in a condominium. 4. So far as Par 1 is favourable i.e. have good shapes and forms; frankly, one can still live with this problem! 5. Thus it is not the "end of the world" for you! If it is possible to screen the stairs from the main door; (it is one consideration). 6. Therefore, I believe, that your home can sustain, this. (Provided, there are no other major multiple "wealth leaks" in a home.) Warmest Regards, Cecil
  8. Perhaps, it is best to clarify your statement. As Tai Sui or Grand Duke usually refers to the situation, where planet Jupiter has the greatest magnetic field and for this year, the Grand Duke (Tai Sui) is located at North sector). Thus, it would not be good to especially do renovations, at this sector. And other things. Thus Tai Sui / Grand Duke is not an object that you can purchase and place it in the home.
  9. Based purely on Ba Zi interpretation, it would stillbe good for the person to be a "strong wood" person in order to benefit from a "metal" career. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  10. So sorry I believe there are no books on the subject of x3 Roosters that I am aware of! Frankly, in my opinion, it is a coincidence of x3 Roosters and as you have mentioned, should not have an impact on your dad's "scam" issue. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  11. Dear Ken, Quote: Ken L. wrote: However in my four pillars, I have lots of water, in fact too much. Of course that makes me strong wood too but water becomes my unfavourable element. 1. In this case, you were derived as a strong wood person as the breakdown of your chart has lots of water. 2. As are a strong wood person, then your best colours are: 1. Fire (Red, pink or purple) 2. Metal (White, silver or gold). 2.1 Your wealth colour is Metal. Quote: Ken L. wrote: Someone else say never to have too much water effect in my home, including painting blue because I need to get rid some water in my life. 2.2 Thus, if you are the main breadwinner of the home, based on your ba zi element, you should if possible avoid too much "water" (blue) colour. And the above makes more sense. Quote: Ken L. wrote: So, someone told me to paint my house blue as first choice and a little green as second choice, because blue is water giving birth to wood house. 3. In your case, I assume that your home facing direction could be facing e.g. East. If so, this is a "wood" home. Many Feng Shui practitioners, use Flying Star Feng Shui in relation to one's ba zi when considering painting the home. Thus since you are a strong wood person, this is considered when repainting the interior of the home. And not paint the house blue and a little green as such. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  12. Dear GY, Yes, it is nice-to-have (not must-have) a date to start work (repainting). And if the gate is changed nearly the same time, then, no need to choose another good day.
  13. Dear Anon, 1. Usually, further investigations should be made to determine the type of "leak". Often, if your bedroom is too yin (dark) and in many instances where the storeroom is located at SW or has flying star #3 at that sector. 2. For the storeroom, if it is too yin (or dark), without proper investigations, you may consider "trial and error" by installing a light such those latest "philips led" bulds" that stay cool. And leave this light on for 12 hours (of course without distracting your sleep - ie glare. Warning: Using halogen, may not be suitable as it produces lots of heat especially for those whose home are of wood construction. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: i have a storeroom in my bedroom which i heard is bad for my relationship with my boyfriend. there is always a third party in my previous relationships. is it really bad to have a storeroom in bedroomand if so,how should i change it to save my relationship? Please advice.
  14. Dear Ren, It is acceptable to place a water feature, here as the location based on Flying star has the water wealth (current prosperity WS#8). Try to take note of the following:- 1. Since the sector has bad #2 with #5, it is good (if you are rearing gold fishes) for: either 6 gold and 1 black or 7 gold and 1 black. 2. There is a high chance that several of the gold fishes may die (sacrificed) due to #5. (Acceptable for this). 3. Never use any pyramid shaped fish tank. 4. Since this sector is south, never use any stand (or legs) that are blue or (dark or light blue) stand for the fish tank. Black or golden stand is acceptable, here. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Renato C. wrote: Hi Master, I have Mountain Star # 6, Water Star # 8, Base Star # 2 and Yearly Star # 5 on the South sector of the house. I have place some metal to cure the stars #2 and #5, I'm planning to place aquarium in this sector to enhance the water star #8, but according to 8 mansion theory the south is Li Trigram 9 with Fire element. Is it OK to place the enhancer here? With Respect, ren
  15. Feng Shui is about Earth Luck. Relationships are built upon "man or human luck factors". Under Feng Shui, you can apply Flying star to activate the mountain stars.
  16. Since you have already consulted your Feng Shui consultant, it is best to follow their advise given that your question is very general.
  17. 1. Contrary to popular belief, a home that may enjoy parent string combination does not automatically do so. The key is : Location, location and location. 2. Frankly, either there is some issue with the location: if it is a landed property: factors like drainage etc.. and other external and internal factors should be taken into consideration. 3. The cures or enhancement is not general to all. And, if you are DIY, then, try to apply the Eight House and Flying star Feng Shui: In particular, as mentioned previously in this forum see if you can activate: #8 current prosperity and/or #9 - especially for middle aged persons #1 future, future prosperity and also try to fix leaksespecially relating to #5 and #3. If you are DIY, then, best get a layout plan andwork out a flying star chart since you already know that your home is a SW2/3 Period 8.
  18. Frankly, it is best that you try to seek professional help in your case. This is even more so if you have a home office and if you are not too sure on how to properly apply Flying Star Feng Shui.
  19. 1. Frankly, the are not the only "lone-souls" on this earth that "face" this situation. 2. In many past (previous) messages... I had mentioned that if we are applying Feng Shui:- 2.1 There is NO SUCH THING as a PERFECT HOME. 2.2 What most of us can do is to: try to maximise the qi in a home or to neutralise (preventive cure) poison arrows or bad qi. 3. Many of us have taken one form of school examinations. Thus, for example, many of us have come across an examination where we were suppose to answer e.g. 5 questions out of a total of 100 marks. Thus each question is 20 marks each. 4. And in our examination technique, many teachers have recommended to their students to allocate time to answer each question. Thus if we were given 2 hours 30 minutes to answer 5 questions, we should start to answer a new question every 30 minutes or earlier. No point in answering just 4 questions, instead of trying to answer 5 questions. Here, we may fail the exam by answering just 3 or 4 questions. The same thing is for Feng Shui. If the bedroom is not suitable, this is not Doomsday or end of day senario. Try our best to "maximise" our Feng Shui marks. R A. wrote: My husband is in the west group. His kua number is 2. Our master bedroom and an attached bathroom fall in the north direction. The room and hte bathroom color are blue. This appears to be a really bad position to be in. Is there anything we can do rather than move.?
  20. Dear Angelia, 1. Frankly, instinctively, we should look at the bedroom layout and always sleep in a "comfortable" natural position. 2. Either sleeping under one of our four best directions AND/or sleeping in a favourable Flying Star sector(s) are both considered NICE-TO-HAVE and not a must have. However, if we do encounter very bad flying star numbers like #5 and or #2 and or with #9, then, these are the worst stars and if so, we should or if could avoid sleeping within these sectors. For other flying star combinations, they are usually of a lower concern. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  21. Dear Cindy, In this sample report, (see attachment ) In general, a geomancer will select a name based on the breakdown of one's ba zi element:- Your Five Element Breakdown 1 Weak Water 4 Strongest Wood 2 Strong Fire 1 Extremely Weak Earth 0 Weakest Metal 9% 62% 25% 3% 0% This tells me that you are a Weak Water because of too little Water (9%) and Metal (0%). Your element is born in a season which is makes Water Element Weak. Thus, influencing the element strength of the other five element elements. The percentage of each element is considered after considering the seasonal strength and the number of that element present. Thus, your favourable elements are Metal (0%) and Water (9%) Elements. Fire (25%) is your wealth element. However, as you are a Weak Water, you first need to be stronger in order to control your wealth element. Based on the percentage of the Five Element of each of your favourable element. You should attempt to enhance the favourable element with least percentage, followed by the favourable element with the next lowest percentage. As Weak Water, your favourable elements are Metal (0%) / Water (9%) . Metal (0%) is your most favourable element. Water (9%) is your next most favourable element. Your unfavourable elements are Earth (3%) / Wood (62%) / Fire (25%). Wood (62%) is your most unfavourable element. As you have way too much of Wood, it is best to avoid it as much as possible. Fire (25%) is your next unfavourable element. Earth (3%) is your least unfavourable element. You have a very unbalanced Five Element distribution. Often, this produces signs of a person with several possible health problems. You have a very unbalanced Five Element distribution. Often, this produces signs of a person with several possible health problems. You have 0% Metal element. This often signify possible Health related problems to the Lung. You have 62% Wood element. This often signify possible Health related problems to the Liver, Bile and Spleen. Having too much Wood may sometimes lead to indirect health issues related to (Earth element). The ideal balance of each element is generally 20% of each element. However, it is difficult to achieve exactly 20% of each element. This is because it is difficult to know exactly how much of each element you have at any point in time. So as long as you have more of your favourable elements, you will improve your balance and harmony. In the above example, this fictitious ladyby the name of Jane has an imbalance inba zi element i.e. she haslots of wood 62 percent while zero percent metal. A geomancy will normally come up withseveral names to check which is a better choice. Thus, for each individual, this would depend on our birth date and time of birth. Although we would like to have a nice meaningful name, this is "secondary" i.e. considered after all the five elements have been matched to see which name brings upon the best "heaven luck". Usually, it is strongly recommended that we try not to change our name once we are older. Especially in an English speaking or our commerce uses English most of the time. Thus, for example, in Singapore, even if you change your name, most likely your colleagues or friends are still going to call you "Cindy" and not your "new Mandarin" name. Therefore, unless one uses that "new name" all the time, then it would make the difference. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  22. Dear Lisa, Honestly, planting a plant does not bring luck. But rather, it has more to do with the landscaping of a home. Locally in Singapore, many years ago (1970's) planting mango or even rambutan trees were very popular then. But, especially for the mango tree, once it matures in 10 to 20 years, it can grow very huge and often made the frontage of homes very "yin" as little light filters downwards. Where possible, from a Feng Shui point of view, avoid planting a tree where the tree trunk would one day "slices" the main door or a window of a home. The tree trunk is like a "butter" knife slicing thru - creating a poison arrow. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  23. Dear Angelia, Yes, I can understand your concern, here! Quote: Angelia T. wrote: I have serious concern about the flying stars at my main door of my house next month. The door is at the south sector, mountain star 9, water star 5, period star 2,annual star 5 and next month, the monthly star 9 is there. As a safety precaution, this year, it is not possible to "lock-up" such bad stars at the main door area. But, you can try to minimize or preventive measure, by:- 1. Stand immediately inside your unit, and face the main entrance door. Check for any "poison arrow" in particular; common issues include: any sharp corner of the passageway "slicing" towards your main door. Or did any neighbour place wooden poles (for hanging clothes" with the poles pointing towards your main door). Or did you by chance place any three pots of plants with trunks directly facing the main door. (The three trunks of a plant represents three joss sticks - often -lighted upat a wake). (This para 1 : is to check for any poison arrow applicable with or without any nasty flying star numbers.) If there is no issue, here, fine. 2. For this year, try to avoid: BRIGHT YELLOW at the main entrance door area. BRIGHT YELLOW may be in the form of the warm light that we may sometimes place at the lobby of the main entrance. No issue with Housing Board Flats (HDB) as all corridor lights are often cool day light. Thus, if there are any warm lights i.e. when turned on, looks yellow, then it is worthwhile as a (precaution) to change to cool day light. As #5 #2 are bad earth = yellow, we try to avoid, bright yellow in anyway at this sector. 3. Check again to see that we do not inadvertently paint the grille gate, main door, door frame or interior wall of the living room YELLOW. 4. Under the Five Elements concept: Fire fuels Earth. Thus if possible avoid BLOOD RED or chili red colours at the main entrance are especially if we already used YELLOW at that sector. For example, we have yellow (warm lights) and Red decorations at the frontage. If so, see if totally avoid bright yellow. If so, we may still retain red decorations e.g. "Red banner" or two red lanterns. 5. For such nasty "horrid" flying star numbers especially #5 x 2, moving metal can be used to constantly destroy or neutralise it. Thus, again, it is worthwhile to seriously consider a 6 hollow rod wind chime at the main entrance area. Alternatively, if there is a nearby chiming clock around this area, would be good. 6. In addition, space clearing is also good at this area. Keep the place clean and generally bright. 7. However, must avoid any renovations or even minor works at the South sector for this lunar year. 8. Need not escalate further as in general, the above is good enough. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  24. Dear Anon, Quote: Anonymous wrote: When determining the directions in a room, do we just read from a compass? Coz I read that in feng shui, 0deg is the south. This makes me think that I need to invert the readings of a compass. Try not to be confused with the Chinese Luopan often used by Feng Shui practitioners where not exactly "0 degrees = south" but rather, the Chinese Luopan has a marking South-North. If you do not personally use the Chinese Luopan to take a compass reading, frankly, and for the purpose of convenience, many Feng Shui websites, books and calculators have already, properly made it easy for the lay person. Thus, for example, in this website, you can simply use any of the regular compass(es) to take a reading. Therefore "Don't invert the compass!" unless one is using a Chinese luopan! Or if a site specifically state that their compass (readings) are reversed!. Warmest Regards, Cecil P.S. Thus this sample image shows that especially for many condos in Singapore, they have a sitemap with a NORTH marking on the site plan. Merely locate one's layout plan and superimpose it on the layout plan to get the "North-South" marking. Inverting such a marking is thus wrong.
  25. Dear Deepti, 1. In general, this can be considered "inauspicious" based on common sense approach to Feng Shui. 2. The idea, here is because, any home that is lower than it's surroundings e.g. such as roads, may in some instances of heavy rain mean flooding for such "lower" homes. Hopefully there are not only proper drainage but also also, especially for some homes that relies on drainage to rivers (to the mouth of the sea). In many instances, such homes are affected by high tides. 3. Other than this, since no two homes are similar, each home has to be looked at in it's own merits or (Feng Shui merits). Such as where is the facing direction of the home etc... 4. There are also concerns for some homes that are at a "cliff side" or at a slope or below a slope; hopefully no major soil eroison often caused partially by heavy (extra) heavy rain fall. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Deepti G. wrote: In september 1st week 2007 a road was built in front of our house as a result few houses which are old buildings became lower than the level of the road in front of there house.they are lower by a feet or a feet and a half.
