1. Everyone has his/her ba zi or "birth chart". A home also has it's own "birth chart". 2. Under the Compass School of Feng Shui: a home's ba zi (birth chart) is based on the Flying Star Feng Shui. Where e.g. what is the birth date of the home? And in addition it's specific direction. Thus a home can be a Period 8, North-West 1 home. 3. So long as one can properly identify where is the water wealth sector of a home, we can than "safely" place a water feature in (inside) the home. 4. Thus, decision made under Para 3; is made first, without consulting or checking to see if the owner (breadwinner)'s elements are suited or not. 5. Thus under Para 3, the breadwinner or sp…

1. In my opinion, technically, all the arguments are logical. 2. Majority of the time, below the staircase (or same spot) as the staircase, many contruct a store room. And this can help to "lock up the bad stars". In addition, it is always better not to have a bedroom or living area with really bad stars vs that of the staircase. 3. It is known fact that if possible, the stairs are covered (top and side). 4. As for wooden staircase, concrete, metal, all these can be based on the Five elements concept - if it does not have an impact of the building code, no issue. 5. Many homes with flaws such as corkscrew staircases etc.. may not necessarily give it a disadvantage. Fo…

Thanks for the explanation Master Lee. I guess the word "destroy" is not apt ?but rather that water "exhausts" fire.

1. The Flying Star concept uses the "Five Elements concept". And each Flying Star number is associated with the five elements. For example: #6 = strong metal and #5 = strong earth. 2. The 20 Year Flying Star Feng Shui In general each sector (North, South, East, West...) etc has three numbers; MS# W# B# (Mountain, Water, Base or Palace star). 3. When applying the Flying star, one should be looking strictly on the Flying Star numbers. Thus even in the West sector, if there is a double #8 then the rule of Flying Star applies that if this is the frontage a "proper water" position can be considered. 4. For simplicity, can understand that strictly North = Water, East = Wood…

1.1 For your convenience, you may like to go thru some of these links:- 1.2 This link has detailed resources of what makes a good water feature as well as an understanding of many of the issues with a water feature:- http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/What_makes_a_good_Water_feature/_fountain 2. Often, if a water feature has been placed at the wrong location, it may lead to roving eyes of either one of the partner. (Flower of romace or illicit relationship). The correction is as follows:- http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/Roving_Eyes_or_Infidelity

1. There are many factors involved in Feng Shui when evalutating of a (new) home. 2. Since it is one of the largest investment that one is likely to make; if you are not sure, then try to get a competent practitioner to evaluate the home for you. 3. Traditionally, the number of the home is "transparent" to Feng Shui. 4. There are many different methods and formulas with regards to whether a house number is auspicious, inauspicious or neutral. 5. And in many instances, the phonetic "sound-like" e.g. Cantonese avoid #4 etc.... can affect the resale value (or marketing) of a home especially in a predominant area with some Chinese. 6. Numbers are a double-edged sword: F…

Master Cecil, Thank you for your prompt reply. As I am a male yin wood OX with 5 earth , 3 wood , missing water, fire and metal. As I am not well versed in Feng Shui and I gather from your sample that I can increase my unfavourable elements to compensate the missing ones in my ba zi reading and reduce earth and wood colours . Is that correct ? Thank You Mike .

1. You can check out this link:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/art/arowanafish.htm 2. For example, if you have the time you may like to read articles Q3 and Q9 on the "Gua" and the "Ba Zi method. 3. Another traditional method is based on the Flying Star. Where :- 7 number of gold fishes represents metal element. And a black gold fish is added (to represent water). Thus in the past, a practitioner may advise an owner to rear 7 gold fishes + 1 black (symbolises water element) fish. Alternatively 6 number of gold fishes also represents (big ) metal element. And it is equally acceptable to use 6 gold + 1 black.

1. Many people are in your situation where they had purchased a home and started to "fiddle" with Feng Shui and Oops! this is bad or that is bad. 2. Most or many homes are fixed and based on the concepts that you had mentioned, they are meant more for those who have yet to build and trying to avoid such areas. Frankly there is no perfect home, and honestly there are relatively "no antidote" other than Para 2. (Which often is not practical which means moving out of a home....)Thus, you have look at other options of maximizing qi from other areas of the home:- http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/The_Concept_of_Maximizing_Marks Quote: Steve J. wrote: Hello... 1. Frankly, authentic Feng Shui has to use tools like Flying Stars etc. 2. Otherwise, you may have to do like everyone else; based on your acumen and feelings in the placement of your bed etc.. 3. When you place your bed-head, you should feel comfortable with it despite having 2 doors and 2 windows as it is very difficult to visual what you had mentioned in writing. 4. If your bed is placed against a window, often, the window(s) are not opened and curtains are drawn. Seethe B. wrote: i am fairly new to feng shui. i get the basic idea, so i dont know much about flying stars and all the fancy stuff, but i am trying to at least start with the basic ideas or feng shui so…

Frankly, in Singapore, many HDB apartments and condos share the same issue! In fact, many newer condos have master bedroom where after placing the "queen-sized" or some can squeeze in a "king sized" bed, and left over is the wardrope area / TV console (or mounted) and some dressing table. And many of these condos also have attached bathroom that is "on the side" of the bed. Is the toilet really so disgusting that we should not have it? In the past, traditional Chinese homes have toilets that are "outside" of the living quarters. But today, it is "scientifically" true that a toilet can be dirty. For example, whenever we "flush" the toilet bowl and worse, if we cover th…

1. It is advisable to be married prior to using the "An Chuang" bed. If this is not possible, it is recommended to sleep in a different bedroom (not the Master bedroom) until the wedding date arrives and the appropriate "an chuang" rituals have been completed. 2. Typically, an auspicious date is selected that is nearer to the wedding date rather than one that is earlier. You can find our available dates within 30 days at the following link: http://dates.geomancy.net 3. The procedure is detailed in this complimentary e-book:- Quote: 1. Can we sleep on the bed after we moved in next month before we an chuang ("install" bridal bed)? 2. When …

1. In the Chinese metaphyics, there are three kinds of luck:- 1.1 Heaven Luck or born with (analysed thru Ba zi) 1.2 Earth Luck or Feng Shui of a home or office 1.3 Human or Man Luck. (Relationships with family members etc..) 2. Here, 'Luck is against you' refers to one's person Heaven luck is not so lucky. Thus, in the specific 10 year luck period, one is not born with a "silver spoon" nor have the "silver spoon" luck during that 10 year period. 3. Thus, there are those who may not have good Heaven Luck, but have good family bonding, relationship support may even trascend even if one may not have that good earth luck. 1. In my opinion, yes, usually, in a working environment, many of us feel better if we are not isolated! That is why, open office concept was and still the most commonly thought out layout. 2. Like you have mentioned, having an office in a "crammed" tower and being isolated is never a virtue of any human beings.. other than a "prisoner" or a "hermit". 3. We can draw many comparisons to "well wishing" parents who lived in a landed property. I have encountered many cases where, the parents have a three level apartment: ground floor = living / dining / kitchen and utility; 2nd storey is the master bedroom and often two more smaller bedrooms. And often the 3rd storey is ano…

Quote: 1)Do favourable directions same as area? Meaning my favourable direction is west. So best is bedroom at west of the house and bed position facing west? 1. Under the Eight House concept: It is considered"nice-to-have" for a west group person to have his bedroom located in the WEST. And it is equally "nice-to-have" (also) if his bed-head is facing west or NW or SW or NE. Thus it is good to have all these"favourable" factors. The"more the better". Quote: 2)West is my prosperity, so I put an aquarium with live fishes in my west area of the house. My main door is North. So, now i haveone good andone bad. In the Five Elements concept (or simply, in theory), a weak wood can actually increase the weak wood with "water element" and "wood element". Thus strictly from a career perspective, for example, an accountant (metal) in a water element company e.g. Pepsi or Coke is one example. Or another example is that of an accountant by training but one's work scope is "wood specialisation". Wood can range from a CEO, making a company grow, or many other wood careers eg.. co-ordination, training, teaching and many more. Most importantly, we should be very thankful that you have talents to go so far as to go into one of the professions where there is a proper professional body! A…

In real life situation and not in a far fetched, utopian world; under Feng Shui:- Metal can be represented by white and gold. White can also be considered as a "neutral" colour. For example, in the past, either sandstone or lime is used to plaster walls. And lime is = white. And white is a very common colour. Gold is "tricky" colour. As you had mentioned, many of the near pure gold wedding rings are "yellowish". Thus, some people, may consider "yellow" as gold. However, usually, one can or may try totell, by looking at say a curtain. Some curtains are silky smooth yellowish - much closer to gold colour. While some curtains are just plain yellowish. Orange colour is a…

1. In my opinion, this is not the best method. As so far in my life (span) you are the first to associate a child's interdisplinary studies with the Five Elements concept. 2. The Five Elements Concept: 2.1. Everything cannot be simply just "black and white". Or for that matter, if one's element is metal, imagine if we simply base on it's colours: white, gold, metallic or silver and say decorate a home that is completely "white" life will be simply plain. 2.2 We were born to admire or most of us are able to detect at least more than 60,000 shades of colours. And why limit one to One or Two? 3. Thus it is the same for studies. One should not limit one's child just to on…

1. If one wants to try to concieve, but unable to, Feng Shui can be used to aid in this attainment. 2. Frankly, for those who have limited knowlege and want to DIY to achieve above, will really have to be on par with a professional Feng Shui consultant's knowlege. 3. Again, let me remind users that this is a Free GENERAL advice forum and not a Free SpecificFeng Shui Consultation forum. It is so easy to give dates of birth and .... wait for an answer to drop down from? Quote: Anonymous wrote: We plan to paint our home ( present it is dry white). 1. Frankly, what you had mentioned prevail our all other concepts. 2. For example, I was overseas a few weeks ago and similar or exactly the same situation as yours. 3. The existing owner was selling their home. And their daughter also prefers to sleep as you had described. However, when the new owner purchased the home, his elderly father will be occupying the "daughters" bedroom. And his preference is to have his bed - head away from the bedroom door.

1. Frankly, this kind of layout is fairly common, nowadays. 2. One advantage is that there will not be a direct path between the main entrance towards a balcony or a window. 3. The main consideration for this type of layout plan are: 3.1 Never place a hanging water feature on the wall. 3.2 Avoid having a large piece or any mirror on this wall. 3.3 Avoid placing any posters within a glass frame. If glass frame is used, use the matt type or non reflective type.
