Dear Anon, In the past, the most common is the wood Hulu or original wood dried ones. However, in modern times (last few years) it is also common to find brass (gold looking) ones which represent the metal element. These two are if one wants to consider -- the two most "authentic" ones because of the following:- 1. It is often used or placed at locations with #2 or #5. Both are strong earth element. 2. Thus under the Five elements concept: ref: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-5element.htm 2.1 Under the productive cycle, metal destroys earth. Thus, many of those used to at #5 or #2 are made of metal such as brass / copper which resembles gold colour. …

I was told that for Chinese (lunar) age, we have to add 1 year. So isn't it known as 39 years old iso 38 years ? From the day we are borne till we cross the Chinese New Year 1st day (likely to be early 1969), we will be considered as 1 year old, then when we hit Lunar June in 1969, it should be 2 years old. That explain why Chinese age is always +1 year from English age. Please confirm lunar age.

If your home is a P8 SE3, South sector has bad stars MS#5 with WS#3 and Base#3. Yes Yin water may be used to control MS#5. For the water you may place some crystals but not wood chips or plants in it. As this may inflame #3.

Dear Anon, 1. This is a subjective question. I believe if you `throw' this question into the newsgroup, you will get all sorts of response. 2. Overall, the original aim of Feng Shui is to enhance beneificial Qi and neutralise Sha Qi. 3. Many Western Feng Shui practioners (especially those that are not Traditional Feng Shui) will love your question. These practioners will always emphasise on "space clearing" or clearing of clutter. 4. In my opinion, many who are not exposed to so many Traditional Feng Shui and related subjects naturally would place space clearing on their top most agenda. 5. Aside from Feng Shui `aspects', I believe there were others in the field of Manage…

Dear Ken, Anonymous wrote: 1. My stairway locates at the center of the house and it elevates up from right to leftat the front door looking in. Ideally, the center of the house should be left empty as possible, as that is what we call the centerpoint where all the influence meet. There is really nothing much you can do about correcting this problem if the stairs is already built there. Sometimes, if the flying stars of the house is such that there is inauspicious stars at the center location that needs to be trapped. Then it is still ok to have like a stairway located there if there is like a stairway cupboard to help lock up the bad stars. Currently, you mentioned th…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: 9 CARPS IMAGE OK TO HANG ON EAST WALL? Frankly, as long as the picture is auspicious looking, there is really not right or wrong place to hang it. Only certain types of paintings you need to be extra careful:- 1)Like fierece looking creatures, then you may have some issues one where you place them. 2) Or mountain scenery type of pictures, may be better to place in where you need to activate the mountain star. 3) Or family photos, which shoulddisplayed in the privacy of your own study room or hallway for example. 1. More importantly, usually what is mentioned in this forum is based on general comments or specific to a home and it's environment. And not all homes can be "slotted" into either abony or ivory type of situation. 2. Thus "IT DEPENDS!". 3. Usually, the home that is "configured" rebuilt "last" would hopefully gain a better advantage. 4. http://www.geomancy.net/products/po-hunting/po-hunting-faq.htm Under this link, please check-out CASE STUDY 1 - The Meyer Place Condominium. Here, in this example, the bungalow, "below" happens to have two roofs. And this apartment at 4th storey has a balcony that looks like two hands in a "receive" position. 5. For most of the arti…

1.Check to see if it is feasible for the "back" to enjoy goodfrontage? Yes/No?For example, can activity area be at the back. Or it happens to be the kitchen, the linen area, laundry etc..And/or is the Flying Star qi there good to be the facing. 2. Ifyou had explored the back area and found it unsuitable, then, you may have to depend on the frontage. 3. If the garage is fully closed area;and if the qi coming from the frontage is suppose to be good, then,Yes, the qi can bewasted, here. 4. Alternatively, if youstill have frontage such as windows or asecond floor, thentry toopen the windows at this frontage areaas much as possible, if you do not wish to renovate your garage…

1. Under Symbolism in Feng Shui, the main concern of the bed-head sharing the same wall as the kitchen is IF the location of the stove is directly opposite one's bed-head position. 2. Thus, there is no major issue so long as the above Para 1 does not happen. 3. If directly behind the bed-head is a preparation table or small breakfast table area or fridge or even washing machine - all no issue at all. 4. Again, there is very few homes (if any) that are totally "perfect". Even those we tend to built from scratch also may have some issues. 5. Therefore, a missing corner at South is not that bad. 6. Flying Star considerations. 6.1. Assuming that such an apartment Flying…

In my opinion, if it is a of "normal" size, home air purifier, this should not be an issue. Quote: Theresa K. wrote: Will it be alright to put a water ( air purifier) in a bedroom ? However I am not sleeping in that room.

Dear Anon, What is the rationale for not having the bed on the same wall as the door? In traditional Feng Shui, this is not advisable because, if one is suppose to sleep on the same wall (plus the head against the wall), you will not be able to see who comes into the room. (There is no longer an element of surprise). Of course, we can say that the door can be closed or sleep with the legs facing the wall. But the second is not considered auspicious. Thus if it is based on Shapes and Form Feng Shui, the above is the main reason for it. You have to see if the above is a good enough reason for yourself. But this is what it generally means in Feng Shui. In my opinion, I would…

1. Your question reminds me of the program: Mind your language. Reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mind_Your_Language 1.1 In fact, there is a rerun on fhis hilarious show now on one of the Starhub channel. 1.2 One should not, like the characters of the show equate it literally to fixing broken things. You wrote: "Do we need a master to evaluate the leaks or one can do it himself." 2. Of course, if everthing does not make sense to that person, then you may have to seek help. Otherwise, others have Do It Yourself (D.I.Y.)

Dear Daniel, There are different ways to determine the best colour of carpet: 1. If one considers determining the colour under Feng Shui, it would involve finding out the person's element and it's strength. For example, if your element is a weak water person. You can consider a blue or green carpet (which represents) water element. A weak person need more water to balance him. Alternatively the productive element for water is wood. So go for a green or brown carpet. 2. If one considers two persons e.g. husband and wife and wants to find a binding element, can make use of the Pillars of Comparison at www.geomancy-online.com (for members) to find the binding element (colour…

I am not sure what color must i paint my room to overcome it but i am a STRONG METAL as the reports said and my room is currently light blue. If you cannot change the position of your bed due to the restriction of the room. Then the only way is to attempt to improve your luck by choosing the colour scheme that…

These are some considerations: 1. What you mentioned is only a part of the Feng Shui theory. 2. Under Compass School of Feng Shui; one must consider both the Eight House (which you briefly) mentioned but left out the Flying Star Feng Shui. 3. Another major concept is: " The forms (Shapes and Forms) shapes the stars and the stars determine the fate". 4. Even anurse is trained to obtain as much information on behalf of the doctor before; the patient sees the doctor: Feng Shui Triage 5. For example, without understanding the Shapes and Forms of that home and to a certain extend the Flying Star and even Ba Zi of a person; "there is limited information" to deduce how bad or ho…

Dear Cheryl, cheryl ludwig wrote: My best directions for my desk to face are SW and NE. The way my office is situated, for me to move my desk, it would sit diagonally. However, I thought that anything situated like that would not be good feng shui. What is the best possible thing to do in a situation like this? Thank you in advance. It is nice to get everything suitable to your personal feng shui. However, sometimes due to constraints this might not be possible. Especially, for office sitting directionis limited unless you own a room to yourself. Often, most people do not have much choice or flexibility in such changes. From what you mentioned, the current position woul…

Dear Anon, Usually, this (toilet at the centre) of the apartment is considered as ONE leak. But often, as mentioned, it is considered as ONLY 1 (ONE) leak. Furthermore, what is exactly at the centrepoint is crucial. If it is the toilet bowl directly at the centrepoint then this is considered1 major leak. But directly at the centrepoint is just the entrance or walk area, and basin, then this is not as bad as the toilet bowl at this direct location. Many homes can do with or afford to have more than 1 leak. And as no two homes or apartments are identical; it is best to "investigate" into each home to check for:- 1. whether there are further or moreleaks? 2. what we can d…

Dear Susan, Yes, so long as we try our best to follow some of the concepts. Not all concepts will suit our needs. What you are "now" practising is what I called "Commonsense approach" to Feng Shui! This is a natural form with or without Feng Shui! Many of us do very, very well with just commonsense! Many Feng Shui practitioners, visit our homes for just 1 or 2 hours and go off! And we are left to follow sometimes very silly advise! 1. Do not place a TV set facing our bed: In many of the past forum messages, I said this is fine. Do find out more why is this so? 2. School children can have open bookshelves at their desktop level. Again, check out what I had said bas…

Further to what I had mentioned, since it is close to the next period, do wait for next year's analysis to see if a further set of six coins is needed. Or else, do let me know e.g. via private e-mail, what is your Flying star sector. And I can advise you to leave it on or not necessarily to place it on for the next year. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dera Fiona, To be honest, one area to look at is Feng Shui. But equally important is many other factors especially that each of our character has been formed throughout our young age. This is why, most of the time, when we reach 18 or 21, we are allowed to sign a specific signature. As our character component is already comprise of what we are. Under Chinese horoscope, the only explanation is that the best match for a Rat partner is the dragon or monkey. Whilst the ram is not as a good match. The worst conflict is a horse with rat. Usually, the major part of Feng Shui is to allow for a good home environment conducive to family life. And from here, the spin-off is that a g…
