These are some interesting links on the reversal of the earth's magnetic field. Although it may not happen sometime in the near future, at least... one day... when it happens; for Feng Shui practitioners (if earth still exists); Will have to first depend on the Shapes and Forms.. while a wide ranging debate much "worse" than the one that had happened in the 1990's where some AustralianGeomancers had the "wrong" idea that Flying star charts should be reversed just becauseof the experiment of "draining" the sink and water vortex is directly opposite that of the northern hemisphere... http://www.geomag.bgs.ac.uk/reversals.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geomagnetic_r…

Thank you for your reply. Regarding drawing the sectors, our unit is an elongated rectangle, so there is a difference if I draw wedges or 9 rectangles. For instance, according to the 9 rectangles all of my son's room is in the south, whereas by the wedges radiating from the center at least half of it is in the southwest. My question about the computer was, how to decide in which sector to put it and which direction it should face, if the different users have different good or bad sectors or directions? Should I make it best for the person who spends the most hours at it? Or for the person who is in charge of technical maintenance and knows the most about it? Thank you Mir…

Dear Tervino, 1. Eight Aspirations or Eight Associations or Life Associations. It is based on the interpretation of each of the STATIC Kua trigrams into e.g. SW - Romance sector etc... This is similar to the `Black Hat Sect's ' use of STATIC templates. 2. I mentioned in earlier forum messages that the Eight Associations or Life Associations are too generalised to be of any effect in Feng Shui. For example, in earlier messages, I mentioned that if three of us are trying to `woo' a girl. And if we understand the Eight Association concept clearly, we need to ENHANCE our SW sector. Given some imagination, each of us would try to enhance this sector. Perhaps, the three of us h…

Pleas Please see my comments below:- Yes, since you are a WEST House person, South West sector is indeed your Health sector. When you use the 8house theory you should follow these steps:- 1. Determine your " 8house ". In your case, you had found out that it is the WEST house. 2. Prepare a template of it. For example, if you have tracing paper or better still, a transparency, mark out all the 8 sectors pertaining to the WEST house. 3. Next, obtain a copy of the layout plan (preferably on an A4 sized paper), find out the North to south direction of your house and mark it on the layout plan. 5. Determine the centre of the house. 4. Lastly super-impose your WEST house…

Thanks for the explanation Master Lee. I guess the word "destroy" is not apt ?but rather that water "exhausts" fire.

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: 9 CARPS IMAGE OK TO HANG ON EAST WALL? Frankly, as long as the picture is auspicious looking, there is really not right or wrong place to hang it. Only certain types of paintings you need to be extra careful:- 1)Like fierece looking creatures, then you may have some issues one where you place them. 2) Or mountain scenery type of pictures, may be better to place in where you need to activate the mountain star. 3) Or family photos, which shoulddisplayed in the privacy of your own study room or hallway for example. Under the Flying Star Feng Shui, #9 represents the fire element. And fire inflames #2 (bad - weak - earth) and #5 (bad strong earth) elements. Not exactly the kind of cure one should intend to apply to these two bad earth stars. Maybe, just maybe for #3 (bad wood). In my opinion, therefore, it is not the normal convention to apply 9 coins for #2 and/or #5. However, as Flying Star analysis takes into account the 81 combinations of the Mountain and Water Stars, then in some cases, it may be used.

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I have hung an oil painting of 9 koi fishes in our living room. The fishes look active and very alive, except that the background, supposed to be water, is more to the greenish colour. Is this considered inauspicious? It is always hard to comment something which we cannot see. However, most pond water tends to be greenish especially when painted at certain time of the day. Also, if the pond is very deep, the colour of the water (though blue), may seems dark greenish. I guess, there shouldn't be an issue as it is probably the painter trying to make it as realistic as possible. More important is usually the koi fishes. As long as they are fair…

Dear Anon, Each method has its own advantages and disadvantages. 1. Most of the time, the 8‑pie method is the easiest to use if you have a protractor or a ready-made transparent template. It makes it very simple to find the center point and then quickly sketch or draw the 8‑pie chart on a copy of the layout plan. The 8‑pie method is also very handy if the house has an odd shape, has missing corners, or if you want to do an analysis that extends beyond the actual outline of the house. It works well for circular houses too. Many Traditional Feng Shui practitioners like using this method because, in my opinion, the Water, Mountain, and Base star numbers c…

Dear Allison, 1. Recently, I posted a painting with double 9 fishes. 2. For example, if one look closely at that particular painting, 2 x 9 set of fishes are facing each other. " 9 " represents or sounds like longevity. And thus is considered an auspicious number. 3. Yes, Chinese lanterns: some which you had mentioned either had four sides or there are four round lanterns X 2 on each side is equally acceptable. It would be best to use a `pair' or even numbers and it would not be good to add an extra `fish' unless it is a single piece of painting or drawing/art work. Warmest Regards, Cecil

A bathroom near a side/back entry to clean up after work or use during work, is it common sense? Or bad feng shui?

Hi Cecil, Thanks again for continuing to provide such a great resource. I hope this question is general enough. I've read that a bathroom near an entry door is considered less desirable for feng shui. However, a common use case in some parts of the world is to have a bathroom and laundry room close to a side/back entry to clean up and change clothes in before entering the living areas of the home, e.g. after yard/garden/woodworking/farm/automobile work, or to have easy access to a bathroom while working on these kinds of projects. This prevents mud, leaves, sawdust, engine oil, etc from being tracked into the living areas of the home. How would you bal…

These are some considerations: 1. Water is not necessarily a bad thing if it is permanent as opposed to seasonal. 2. How the home is built and facing would determine whether it has good, bad or neutral Feng Shui. Reference: http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=29&mid=11355&new= 3. The major concern is the effects of global warming and the irratic weather behaviour. Hopefully this does not translate to extreme flooding on the property especially if the creek overfills.

Dear Anon, 1. Frankly, yours is not the only situation where there is a `big difference' between your husband's Eight House and your own. 2. Majority of the time, half the battle is won if one has a good Shapes and Form Feng Shui of the home. In some cases, a good Shapes and Form is all that matter for a Quantum Leap in `LUCK'. 3. The Eight House has its limitations. It is also not used to compare one spouse with another spouse. 4. Proper comparison is by using Pillars of Destiny once each person's element and strenght is determine. 5. Even if the comparsion is unfavourable, it is again not "the end of the world". Here, once one know of one's proper Pillars of Destiny "ma…

Dear Apollo, There are many issues that you will need to check before you can determine what's wrong. Just basing on the animal sign will not be able to tell you anything. ie a. Whether it is your heaven luck entering a bad year b. The house you shift in maybe not suitable c. Or simply have bad house feng shui which adversely impact you, etc. You should make use of the numerous free tools on the website to help determine where is the cause of the problems or leaks. Only when you know what is causing it will it be easy to fix. 2. However, based on what you have provided, since you say after moving to UK, I do presume you actually have a change in house etc. So this is mos…

Hi everyone, I remember a user posted a message regarding vast u. Well I came across a book called Vastu Living Creating A Home for the Soul by author Kathleen Cox. After reading the book I was surprised to notice lot of similarities between vastu and feng shui. Vastu Indian science of architecture and is also based on cardinal direction and also emphasis the nature and 5 different elements(air, water, fire, wood, earth). But there is heavy emphasis of symbolism (deity). Well, anybody looking for more information on vastu should try this book. Good luck!

As mentioned based purely on a top-view Shapes and Forms: 1. the service road that is parallel to the condo plot is not an issue. 2.As the plot where you had marked is not threatened by any service or public road. 3.Thefrontage of the condo is unblocked: more good than bad. As there is alarge clear space.Minor issue is that there is no blockages thus shouldit be windy, there is nothing to block the wind blowing strongly towards the face. 4. Plot of land at a corner is subject to another science of Feng Shui. 4.1 Here, one must imagine that rainfall will fall onto the plot of land and often if the DROP at A andC are open drainage, depending on this; some apartment units ma…

Dear Master Lee: Thank you very much for your previous response. Attached is another culdesac home with great mountain view in the back. This culdesac is a round one instead of the chinese knife shape. There are only two houses on the culdesac, the rest of the space is the park and green belt. Mine is the one on the left. It also has the front door (black rectangle) and driveway facing the culdesac. Is this a bad culdesac location? Thank you very much in advance for your advice. Very respectfully, Pam
