Dear Anon, One can use lighting or lights to enhance the Qi. But what you have mentioned is in my opinion not practical. 1. The best lighting is during the day it is best to natural lighting. In a home, it is best to allow rays of natural sun light to filter into the house. 2. I am not sure how one can implement the proposal of turning on the lighting e.g. purple or red all the time. 24 hours? In my opinion, it is just like the story of someone who was asked to drive his car over a set of steps everyday he returns home. Is this practical? not withstanding the question of whether it will work or not. On one hand, the power supply company would be most happy to hear of th…

Hi Anon, 1. If there is no favourable view, then simple thing like a day curtain or blinds will help to screen it. And as the saying goes if you cannot see it, it is not a threat. 2. Alternatively, check your eight house to see if you can sit facing in particular your prosperity or excellent sector which may not necessary be this current table placement. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Dear Nina, 1. One option is to acquire mosquito larvae granules, which can be found at various plant nurseries throughout the island. The cost for a bottle or packet ranges from S$3.50 to S$4.50. 2. A single tablespoon of these granules can sustain for several weeks. 3. Regarding fish: There are numerous interpretations concerning the quantity of fish: 1. The concept of Yin and Yang suggests that water is associated with Yin (softness). Yin is also symbolized by even numbers such as 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, etc. To achieve balance in a fish tank, it is recommended to have an odd number of fish, as odd numbers represent Yang. This creates a harmonious presence of both …

Dear Anon, 1. No, what you mentioned is not the correct application of Feng Shui. 2. In Feng Shui, we must determine, whether is it personalised for the individual? 2.1 If one look at it closely, even Shapes and Form School analysis is personalised to the individual or the specific home. For example, if there is a corner of a building aimed at your home, the poison arrow is aimed at that specific house. Thus it does not mean that because of the poison arrow aimed at the above house, other houses e.g. a neighbours would automatically get the Sha Qi. Most likely not. If so, it may, instead be at a `T' junction and thus have a totally different poison arrow. If we scrutini…

Dear Anon, 1. For a matter of interest, if you visit www.lovesigns.net; you can see a pictural chart of the 12 animal signs. 2. Do look closely the animal sign that is opposite your animal sign. For each animal, the animal sign directly opposite your sign. 3. For example for an OX, the most incompatible animal sign is the RAM. 4. Under www.lovesigns.net; it is based on just the Year of birth. 5. Ba Zi Feng Shui or Pillars of Destiny i.e. Year, Month, Day and time looks far more closely on the interactions; combinations, triple combinations and clashes to provide a detail analysis as opposed to a simplistic model as in the Year of birth " Chinese horoscope " under www.lov…

Dear Anthea, Yes, under the fortune telling analysis, Moles on Face is one form of analysis:- URL: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/art/art-face.htm In our website, we all along do not emphase on fortune telling portions for even ba zi. This is because, we believe that a lot of such fortune telling if any only create fears for people. And it will create this self-fullfilling concept. Where a person believes so much in the negative prediction, that you actually make it happen. Frankly, any form of even cosmetic surgery (how small), carries a risk of danger. So is it really worth the while to do so? The best way is to try to be in harmony with your envrionment, by kno…

Dear Geomancer, Kindly advise if there's any adverse effect if there's 3 water tanks directly above HDB flat? Am occupying the highest floor - 16th floor and the 3 water tanks span across mainly the Living room, 1 bedroom and part of Master bedroom. Seems quite big in size from the floor plan. Will presume that the3 water tanks are storing clean water. Thanks for your kind assistance! Lene

Dear Ann, Thank you for bringing up the question of crystals. 1. It is thought that like mirrors, crystals may be considered as bending light or `manipulating' lighting. This is where, some advise include: If there is a stair-case landing, some FS practitioners may advise one to place a mirror at this landing. In the hope that `Qi' can flow more smoothly. 2. Unlike, `water qi' there is currently no scientific proof that light is effective. For watercourses, reference can be made to " Dangers of underground water " ref: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/under.htm Here, some scientists have found that too much negative ions in water e.g. the negative ions created by waterfalls. I…

Dear Mr Lee Thank you so much for your reply. Greatly appreciate your help. Emily free-advice Listmanager wrote: From: Cecil Lee Dear Emily, 1. Other than Yr3, (although bad wood - that is helpful, this time around), the other combinations of #5 x 2 fueled with M#9 fire is indeed - pretty bad. (Yes, very inauspicious). 2. The idea behind the neutralising of #5 is the use of constant metal. Thus, imagine this: a wind chime that does not make (constant) noise is as good as not having a wind chime at all. This is akin to swallowing a sugar coated pill with no good visible results. 3. With this potent combination of #5 x 2, one sure need to have pretty much constant metal to…

Dear Anon, For such items, if not in use should preferably be kept in a storeroom. Under Flying Star Feng Shui, it is best to avoid to avoid a soild object such as the grinding stones at bad earth sectors e.g. #5 or #2. Do not want to inflame these sectors with such a "large boulder". Quote: Anonymous wrote: # I have one of those old style grinding stones - a wok-like solid shape with a hole in the middle, where one puts the grain to be ground with the help of a stone pestle. We no longer use it; we kept it because we planned to use it as a display stand, but for now it's just there because we can't make up our mind what to do with it. Does keeping stones like these …

Dear Anon, 1. In the past, when there were few (if any) high rise buildings; it is much easier to relate it to a landed property; than say an apartment. 2. One best way to look at a `major' renovation is of the following:- 3. Case Study 1 ================ 3.1 Someone has sold their home. For example, this house was purchased by a couple who married in the 1970's, stayed there. And when their children grew up; the children moved away. 3.2 Often, the `old couple' who have already retired decided to sell this house. 3.3 Most of the time, the house could require renovations to modernise the home. 3.4 For example, you came along and purchase this house. ANd decide to do a reno…

1. You can check out this link:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/art/arowanafish.htm 2. For example, if you have the time you may like to read articles Q3 and Q9 on the "Gua" and the "Ba Zi method. 3. Another traditional method is based on the Flying Star. Where :- 7 number of gold fishes represents metal element. And a black gold fish is added (to represent water). Thus in the past, a practitioner may advise an owner to rear 7 gold fishes + 1 black (symbolises water element) fish. Alternatively 6 number of gold fishes also represents (big ) metal element. And it is equally acceptable to use 6 gold + 1 black.

Dear Anon, 1. Under the Flying Star Theory, one has to look at the top two stars in addition to the base star. One should not look just at the base star in isolation. For example, you mentioned that (2) is at West in the kitchen. Under the Flying Star Theory, one has to look at the relationship between the two stars e.g. mountain and water star and relate this to the base star. If for example one element for the water star is `bad' and it is helped by another element that assists the bad star e.g. water assists wood and in turn there is a sickness star at the base, one has to analyse all three and come up with a solution to balance it. E.g. introducing fire element to co…

Dear Carina, 1. Where possible, it is better to have children sleep on as you mentioned, proper beds rather than on the floor. 2. Usually, it is still not as bad if the floor is paquet or wood flooring. This is because, tiles are cold and the belief is that it is better not to have them in the bedroom. Here, the main belief is that when one wakes up, when our feet touches the floor, it is best not to immediately step on `cold' tiles. A floor mat would do. 3. It is best that the toilet wall is not on the same wall as the toilet bowl. Where possible (weighing pros and cons), if safety is the concern than place the bed close to the wall. If the bed has side bars, the bed can…

Dear Oliv, Oliv Sullivan wrote: What is the best color to paint a home office, where much time is spent, that is located in the SE sector? Since wood is the element for that direction, would green be the best color or blue (wood needs water)? If red is used would that affect finances adversely? Generally, for colour scheme, you need to really check what is the stars available in that sector based on your flying star. You want to avoid colours that will activate bad stars (ie star 2/5 or other bad stars). Thus, the most neutral colour for any sector is always White (Metal). Metal can help to exhaust star bad Earth Star and even Strong Wood Star. Thus, the room should avoid…

Dear Anon, Please see below:- Right now, my couch is It is best to have the electronic appliances against the wall under Shapes and Form School. This is where generally, the living room should have a `clear space' i.e. low cabinets or seats. The walls can have higher cabinets e.g. to house electrical appliances. You should find the true North South compass direction and mark this on the centrepoint of the house. Next superimpose the Eight House template so that it lines up with the North to South marking on the layout plan. The main door has to be determined by the actual cardinal point. Dear Anon, In my opinion, what you have mentioned can at best be based on intuition or feelings as Feng Shui looks further than just the toilets. Feng Shui should be used at a holistic level to look into various areas or sectors within and external of the home ... Thus, just by looking at the toilet and giving a brief comment on it is can be quite a difficult task. It is like doing guess work. Although I agree that, for the toilet, if you can; why not close the toilet door without placing wooden wind chimes. The placement of objects are usually looked at using proper FS tools such as Flying Star to analyse the praticular sector. Thus if we are not using these tools; we w…

Dear Tom, 1. From what I understand, rubber trees was originally imported into Singapore botanic gardens. 2. Later on, because of the significance of latex, rubber trees were grown particularly in West Malaysia where the sap is `milked' and carefully made into latex sheets. These sheets are very smelly. 3. When I was young, I remembered my grandparent (mother's side) own a rubber plantation and I particularly liked `playing' with the seeds.. where, one rubs it on a surface e.g. tile and it heats up and feels warm to the touch. 4. Rubber trees can grow particularly tall and I believe what you mentioned is only a plant. If it is planted in a pot, the tree would not grow lar…

Dear Linda, First, on your question of the beam. Frankly, it is best not to paint the flute to white. Under the 5 elements concept, if your beam (in particular) is of cement exterior, the beam is considered of the earth element. Thus, in order to destroy earth, wood should be introduced. Therefore, if the beam is a concrete beam; then, you should introduce wood. However, if you have painted the wood to white, this now becomes the metal element (as white represents the metal element). In this case, two wooden flutes in its original element i.e. brown or green are the correct element to use. However, if the beam is made of wood (or wooden beam) then, the element you shoul…

Dear Master Cecil Lee I, frankly, agree what you had said, it is often wise not to read too many "wrong books" and as a result in "forcing" us into following too many silly "taboos". Well, have some tips to share, read from oneof the book (author). Hope you enlighten us (users):- 1. If the poison arrow is comingfrom the South, place a large urn of water in front ofyour door. This will overcome hostile energy coming at you. 2. If the poison arrow is coming from the North, place three mounds of earth at the front of your house or three large rocks to overcome the hostile energy. Hanging a faceted crystal in front of your door is also a good cure. 3. If the poison arrow…

Dear Elena, The `worst' position is the `coffin' position where the bed faces the door directly. Where the legs or head face the bedroom door. Other than this, it is natural for part of the bed to be seen from the door. It "happens" everywhere so this is not a real issue. Or too minute to worry about. It is best to focus on real issues:) Those that can give `good' returns. Such as good Shapes and Form. Warmest Regards, Cecil
