Dear Koon Hee, Generally for main door you follow these rules:- 1. For entire buildling, you take the frontage of the buidling. 2. Fora particular shop/office within the building, you should take the main entrance where you and your client will enter in and out of the office. 3. Taking the frontage or office window is another way, but that will be taking the frontage of the office. Especially for offices which do not really need to have customers entering in and out of the house. From our experience, it is better to take the main door direction from the centerpoint of the office. Reason for this is because this way the sector where the main entrance fall under will b…

I'm just starting to study feng shui. My firstquestion is to determine which directionI shoulduse as my entry to my home. Ienter throughan open doorway intothe porch from the west, but then I turn and enterthe front door into the living roomfrom the south. The porch is not completely enclosed. It has walls half way up and a short wall coming down from the ceiling. I walk thru a doorway to enter the porch area. If I added windows and a door it would be an enclosed entryroom. Should I use the westporch entry or the southdoor into the living roomfor my entry direction?

Dear Anon, The reason why you will not find answer to your question is because in order for anyone to know where is the best position to place a water feature, will mean that they will have to do a full personalised anlaysis of your home before anyone can recommend where exactly you can place the water feature so as to take advantage of the new period. Generally, a water feature is good to be located in an open space area, often the frontage or garden would be a generally a good choice. I so happen to reply another question on water feaure, which I have put up some tips and guides on water position which you can read up as a guide. http://forum.geomancy.net/webboard/wb…

In my opinion, it sounds better than a house directly facing a temple. However, if the temple is on a North-East and South-West alignment and vice-versa; and your apartment orhome is aligned in this North-East to South-West; then one has to be extra careful of the concept of: "Devil's gate". Besides this, location, location and location is equally important.

Dear Detroit, Generally, anything sharp pointing towards you is considered a poison arrow. But how bad will depends on how big or how visible the object is as well as how far away is it. If it is a small object that is quite a distance away then it is considered minor. But if is pretty obvious and it points say towards the main door or living room windows etc. Then you may need to try to put say a someplants or if you have afenceor even some roll down blinds if you have some balcony type area etc which can help to block the sha qi. Generally, as long as you cannot see the threat from your main door or living room then it is no longer a big issue. So anything which can…

Hi Anon, Generally, plants in general are good for beautifying the environment as well as as plants with flowers are often good indicators to whether a sector is good or bad. Remember that the goal of feng shui is ultimately to create an environment which you will feel comfortable in. Most people should find that a home with plants or a beautify garden very relaxing to be around. Thus, plants no matter what variety are always used. In terms of feng shui, any sharp objects pointing at your home or etc are considered poison arrows. Which is why most people will go for less torny plants if and where possible. Usually, one will also try to avoid getting plants which can cr…

Dear Anon, Generally, what you cannot see no longer becomes a threat. So if you based on this concept, whatever you can do to make sure that you cannot directly the poison arrow is considered a solution to the problem. Usually, for example a fence or a row of plants that can help to block the view are good solutions for an external posion arrow. Hope that helps. Dear Mei Ling, Please note that analysis done here are based on information provided and on Eight House so not every possible analysis may have been considered. However, based on the Eight House, North is Longevity for yourself and Irritation for your husband. Still generally ideal. But the house must contain a bedroom which is more suitable to your husband. For a more suitable direction would probably be South-West, where your husband will be having a better facing, and yourself Irritation might be better. This is because it is often good to give the breadwinner the better house suitability then the spouse. So generally, quite ok. Usually North and South facing house …

Dear Judy, Generally, in order to fully know where you should be activating the water position in the home, it is best to use tools like flying star analysis to conduct a full audit so that you can find where are the current and future auspicious stars where it will benefit from having a water feature. So please note here that any advice provided here is based on general shapes and form concepts without considering other factors. 1. Ideally, any water feature should be located at the frontage of the house where possible. This is because whatever your frontage is that should be the clear space where under the Four Symbolic animals, it is the pheonix sector where the bi…

Dear Fran, At a location which you had described i.e. mountain #8 with water #8, then this is known as a double #8. And under Period 8, this is considered an auspicious combination: 1. Virtual water In certain situations, for one reason or another, some may not be able to activate water at this specific location. For example, if this is the front door and on the exterior, it could be a lobby shared with other subsidiary proprietors or tenants. Here, since the main entrance is at the frontage with double #8's no real water - is acceptable. 2. If one stays in a landed property, one can have a pond, as you had mentioned, right in front of the house. Ideally, the water …

Dear Anon, There are two levels of suitability which you can check:- 1. Eight House - Which shows you which of the 4 directions is good or bad. 2. Ba Zi Element - ie weak Wood is favourable for Water (North etc). For house direction, in either case, if you already choose a house which isn't suitable for you, there is no way you can force the house to suit you unless you move to a house that have the direction favourable for you. But ideally, if a house isn't favourable to you and as long as it isn't your death or disaster, then it isn't too bad yet. However, if the house is considered death or disaster, then in the long run you will benefit from moving to a more suit…

Hi Anon, Yes, Wood by default destroy Earth. This is what we call the destructive cycle of the five element. However, there is a big difference between Weak or Strong Earth. a weak Earth is where you need Fire and Earth to make your weak Earth stronger. However, for a Strong Earth, it means you already have too much of Fire and Earth. Thus, whatever helps you reduce the excessive Earth is good for you. So Wood and Metal helps to control the Strong Earth. So that is why for you Wood becomes your favourable element. East (Wood) and SE (Wood) is a favourable element for a Strong Earth. There is nothing wrong about it. You just have to understand the weak and strong nature…

Hi Anon, 1. If you take the entrance of the building, you will be doing a feng shui for the entire building. This means that you will be doing the feng shui for tall offices within the building itself. Which is a larger scale of analysis typically used for when you are planning to build the entire building itself. 2. Each office unit within the building does have it's own feng shui, so you should be looking at the individual feng shui of the office based on the main door or office frontage. Since your aim is to check on your own office, then you should point 2. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui

Dear Nitin, You will have to find out what might be the potential problems which might be affecting your situation. Sometimes, it might be because of Feng Shui sometimes it can also be others issues (ie. work attitude /simply insufficent career advancement opportunities.) In terms of Feng Shui, you must identify where is the root of your problems:- 1. Are you having bad luck because your given luck (ie. Heaven Luck - Ba Zi) is in a very bad period. 2. Or is it your home (earth luck) which is bad for you. ie Home not suitable for you (ie Eight House - Disaster), or that the house simply have very bad luck etc. 3. Or is it you are in a career which is your unfavourabl…

Dear Ann, For some Chinese, they would consider using the Ba Gua mirror. However, even if one places a potted plant as what you had mentioned, unfortunately, the staircase is still in full view thus such a remedy may not work properly. Frankly, when confronted with such an issue, it is very difficult to resolve it since the underlining thing is "if it cannot be seen, it no longer becomes a threat" cannot be fulfilled. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Based on your description (below), it does not sound serious. This is because it does not seem that the old tree "slices" into the main door nor the front gate. So long as it does not "slice" thru a window, this is perfectly acceptable given also that the tree is across the street. Warmest Regards, Cecil
