Dear Cavas, Cavas Panthaky wrote: When measuring the direction a house faces, does one take the magnetic variation into consideration? See if there are any deviation from that reading and the one taken at your home. The one furthers away from any major building or power lines will tend to give you a good reading to check against any deviation. Hope that helps. War…

Dear Health, In my opinion, your husband can proudly display his military service combat medals in: 1. If their is a study room or a visitors room, it can be placed in a display. 2. Alternatively, they can be placed in a specially constructed `picture' frame and mounted on a wall - conversation piece. 3. Usually, the thing to avoid is the placement of e.g. an officer's sword especially having it face the main entrance. Similarly, in my opinion, it is best not to let the medal display face directly towards the main entrance. Otherwise, it can be placed even in the living room area e.g. in a display cabinet. More importantly, it should be placed especially, from your husban…

Comment: Looks like the "nightmare" has began for those who are considering or trying to sell their existing 99 leasehold flat. For those who bought theirs on the resale market especially in the last two years would realise that some may have already started to make a paper-loss; depending on location, view and level. Median COV for flats drops to $8,000 The Straits Times 6 December 2013 By JANICE HENG CASH premiums for HousingBoard flats have fallen furtherand faster than expected as housing curbs continue to bite. The median cash-over-valuation (COV) dropped to $8,000last month from $11,444 in October, ahead of predictions that itwould hit $10,000 by the yearend, accord…

In my opinion, this has more to do with the "human factor" : feel. Since the septic tank is outside; and should it be a distraction to you; then often a simple day curtain or a roller blind could be used, here. Personally, I feel that if one is really into meditation; I would have thought that a good meditation is one where even in the middle of the highway island; one would still be at peace and still do productive meditation.

Dear Anon, 1. Ideally, good buildings have the `water' facilities away from the offices. Here, pumbing can be concentrated at the corner of a building i.e. the pantry area, the toilets (both male and female). 2. Since most of us are not going to spent so much time at the toilet area, the male and female toilets can still be next to each other. Usually, the centre area or a walkway for maintenance (housing the pumbing) for both toilets) is between the male and female toilet. 3. No matter how, the above is still a better choice rather than the toilet in the middle or at one location where it does not at least share one external wall. Here, some office main entrances may b…

Hi, Usually, books do mention that good locations for water positions are at the North (because it `belongs' to the water element), East and SE (Wood) which is considered in `harmony' with water position. However, another way of looking at it is that this is a " novice method " at looking into relationships i.e. water with North, East and SE. For the exterior of the home, one should seriously consider the Four Symbolic Animals concept. Avoid at any costs to place the water position behind the house. It is best for the water position to be in front of the house. Since you enjoy the water position with the unique mermaid statue in the SW garden, you should continue to leav…

Dear Anon, 1. I understand proper understanding of Feng Shui can be quite confusing. 2. As it is there are authentic Feng Shui theories and many others generated by modern man. 3. Even when we talk about authentic Feng Shui, some can work for MOST of us, some can work for only a FEW people. Others, sounds sensible but may not work all the time. 4. Faced with such a situation, what should we do if we want to continue to apply Feng Shui? 5. The most sensible approach is to: 5.1. Try to apply the theories or concepts that works best for most people. Here, one has to discern and read up. As there are already a huge resources of geninue questions posted and replied on. For th…

Dear Sandy, It would be interesting for users in this forum to know, perhaps who has mentioned this `concept' that metal bed `draw away energy'. Frankly, in my opinion, there is no concrete proof of this. Nowadays, many beds also have many metal springs i.e box beds .... If we can understand more and what is the reason for saying that metal bed `draws away energy'... more of us can then make our own judgements about it. Warmest Regards, Cecil

The first picture looks orange colour. If it is ORANGE colour; then I must qualify; for the Chinese, we consider orange colour as = gold. As mentioned many past forum messages; Hokkiens = Orange = Kim or Gold; Cantonese = Orange = Kum which is also refers to gold. And during the 15th days of Chinese New Year, exchanging a pair of oranges = gold. Frankly, I don't know what other races or religion consider orange = if they ever consider it in this way. Thus politically speaking I am Chinese so if you ask me; I second the above!

Hello Cecil, Which one of the following will work as Metal cure? 1) I glue 6 coins onto a piece of RED paper 2) I tie the 6 coins together with a red string, and then tie the top string and bottom string together to turn the 6-coin string into a circle? 3) I tie the 6 coins together with a long red string (and leave the top string and the bottom string as-is) Thank you as always, Hoa

Dear Amy, In general: 1. Colours are important in Feng Shui. Thus, do check the type of colour(s) used. 2. White - represents metal element. And if the room is in white colour, it already has one component which is metal. 3. Colours like cream or beige or yellow belongs to the earth element. And rooms that are painted in these colours and if there are #2 (bad sickness earth) and #5 (bad earth - misfortune/sickness). If the room has been painted this colour or other colours in the room e.g. curtains used cream or yellow, then, metal should be used, here. 4. Where possible for neutralising #5 - constant metal is needed. Cures for this would range from: 4.1. 6 rod metal w…

Dear Anon, 1. One should normally, not combine the two. This is because when we usually look at location's qi, we take into account the magnetic influence and qi flow within that room. 2. Human beings is considered as having a `different' type of qi i.e. a human being that is alive and kicking has their own body qi or a combination of yin-yang qi. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Often, the colour scheme can be used in many situations. Neutral colour such as white or pastel shades of light colours are acceptable. The use of 6 coins is symbolic. Here, 6 represents big metal. And this is why it is often used. Other metal elements often used as a cure in Feng Shui are things like pendulum clock or wind chimes. In my opinion, this type of cure can be subjective. As not all practitioners may agree with it. In my opinion, it does help. So long as it is seen, it is ok. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Since, the tree slices into the house (thru the main entrance): this is considered inauspicous. Or a threat to the house. The cul-de-sac is an added `burden' to the house. Thus, this is two bad / bad situations. No, it does not mean here that the cul-de-sac metal slices into the wood tree. Warmest Regards, Cecil

1. Even if one needs to be "surrounded by" metal, there must be an acceptable level. Usually, if you had engaged an FS practitioner, then check with them. 2. If you are D.I.Y. then be equally reasonable. 3. Metal includes: e.g. circle or oval shape. And glass.

Hi Anon, I am not sure how you got the older analysis module loaded even though I disabled it long time ago. It seems that an old link to that is still available and it is analysing the results as it is disabled. As a weak Earth, generally:- 1. Fire and Earth makes you stronger. (Favourable) 2. Wood destroy Earth, so weaken it. (Unfavourable) 3.Since Metal exhaust Earth, it also makes it weak. At the same Metal actually destroy Wood, which weaken Wood. Thus Metal is a double influence. However, to make it simple, Metal by default exhaust an element first before destroying it. As such the first influence comes first. (Unfavourable) 4. Water is your wealth, as a weak …

Hi, Frankly, this is usually considered too insignificant to be a major concern in Feng Shui—the influence is simply too minor. It’s similar to the idea of using an imperial Frankly, this is usually considered too minor to be a big concern in Feng Shui—the influence is very small. It’s like using special measurements or a Feng Shui ruler, but for most people, it’s not practical to buy custom furniture, such as tables, just to get lucky sizes. While Feng Shui recommends furniture with good measurements, what should we do when shopping? Many practical Feng Shui experts say to trust your own feelings. Are metal roofs, which are increasingly popular, bad feng shui? Storm damage requires new roof. Currently have trad shingles, with a metal roof on a low pitch extension (too flat for shingles) across back of house which faces east and a medium sized lake as well. Is going full metal too much metal? I am Sagittarius/Water Dragon. Thankyou, wrsjr.

Dear Winters, I believe, that although you are `wood'; consideration should be: 1. If you are a STRONG wood person, this would be beneficial as metal (not just the sliding door) but the entire trailer is more `metal' helps to destroy wood, and neutralises the strong wood. If you are a STRONG wood person, the above is beneficial to you. Here, water element would be beneificial to constantly `replenish' the wood. Water element refers to the colour blue, grey or black of shades of it. However, if you are a weak wood person, you should use more of water element to help increase the wood element. (Here, water element should be "used" more than if you are a strong wood person)…
