Dear Anon, To be honest, there is very little information to go on to assess whether it is OK to place the fridge close to the main door entrance. Usually, in a compact kitchen, often a fridge do happen to face a stove. This is especially acceptable if the kitchen is located in the south of the home. It would be best to avoid such a situation i.e. stove face a water position (in the north or if the kitchen is at the north). See if the new location feels more comfortable to both of you or the earlier location. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, For this coming Chinese New Year (CNY 2005), yes brown is acceptable. Since brown represents wood. And the green in this sector is also OK; since both green and brown are wood elements. Wood element is much like a tree with roots (sink-into-the-ground) to crush earth (bad #5). thus, this is acceptable. This is based on the "destructive" cycle of the Five elements where wood destroys or crush earth element. Reference: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-5element.htm Recommendations: 1. For this coming CNY, should remove the red mat since red can fuel earth element or inflame it. Thus the alternative is to usea blue mat. Here, water helps to draw-…

Dear LeAnne, I searched this forum and came up with a previous article, I wrote on stone lions. (Often, if the fu dogs are suppose to resemble the lions, then, the items held under their paws should be similar.) If you want to view some of the .gif files mentioned below, please go the the conference below and search for the subject (below). Warmest Regards, Cecil Posted in: Info :: Feng Shui Tips & Guidelines on Thursday, April 18, 2002 09:41 AM Subject: How to properly place a pair of Chinese Stone Lions We have seen many pictures of buildings with the Lion figurines. In many of the ancient Chinese buildings, one hardly notice that:- 1. The Male Lion 1.1 This Lion s…

Dear Bob, 1. For Compass School Feng Shui, it is always best to take a compass reading based on -- the magnetic compass readings. 2. Good compass such as some of the better brands e.g. Suunto (Finland) has a compass for the specific zone that each of us live in. 3. In fact, under the compass school of Feng Shui, it is always best to take readings away from any metal or reinforced concrete beams, as these can skew the reading as much as 10 to 15 degrees. Even a power station below some homes e.g. some apartments are built above a sub-power station. 4. Where best, the readings from external should be taken and matched with the interior. 5. Under the compass school, we have…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: my boyfriend is born under rat year (1972) and me is born under horse year(1978) and i've been told that this combination is impossible to work out and will effect both life(ie.luck, life, wealth etc) .is there any cure regarding this incompatibility matters?and i'd like to ask in which field of carrier would be auspicious for each of us?thanks If two animal horoscope signs are incompatible, there will always be a clash or conflict between the two persons. The only way to minimise such an issue is to attempt to bring more harmony for the two person by checking the birth element of the two. (ie weak water rat vs weak wood horse can improve harmon…

Dear Narendra, Based on your personal experience, is there any `problems' that you are currently facing. Frankly, there is not much you can do other than keep the location more `yang' i.e. where possible natural `bright'. Dear Hardjo, A poster bed is useful if there is a slanted ceiling. The four posts hold e.g. laced cloth. And with it, it will negate the sha qi. Enclosed please find a sample of a poster bed. Many poster beds does not have a roof as shown in the picture. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Vijay, 1. It is best to apply a "pie chart" method instead of using a 9 x 9 grid in such a situation. 2. There are two types of Flying Star for the home/office:- 2.1 Horizontal Flying Star Feng Shui This is the common or regular 20 Year, Yearly, Monthly Flying Star Feng Shui based on the Luo Shu grid. Since it is applies to horizontal analysis, I have mentioned that if one wants to look at the external perimeter; than locate the centrepoint of the location. And by using the pie, one can either concentrate the pie sectors - to within the interior of the home/office or extend it out (i.e. literally continue to extend/draw the lines out.) 2.2 Vertical Flying Star Feng …

Dear Kayanna, 1. In my opinion, it is not be appropriate to apply `fixed' template Feng Shui to your home. 2. This is because, it is really hard to imagine that a particular sector is our money corner/sector or love/romance sector. 3. It is my believe and many other practitioners of traditional FS (although the methods may vary); not to depend on "paying homage" to sectors or corners. 4. In fact, I believe that if one is lucky to find a good or (reasonably good) house - i.e. with acceptable FS, this is already a plus point. 5. Fixed template " FS " does not take into consideration many of the vertical and horizontal analysis to analyse a house into components:- 5.1. Self …

Dear Anon, 1. The symbolic method to making another main door is to place the house no. on that door instead of the `actual' main entrance door. 2. In my opinion, one can still use the other `main door' and it is not necessary to `seal' off that door. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Adrienne, 1. Under the Compass School of Feng Shui (both Eight House and Flying Star); there will be situations where two rooms may share one sector. 2. And this is quite common. Thus, if it is the Eight House theory (East/West group) of persons; if this is the bedroom, then, the bed can be situated at any of the two rooms especially if it is an auspicious sector where the bed can be placed in one or the other room. 3. Please note that this is the common experience as not all homes are aligned perfectly e.g. north--south or east--west alignment. And many times, one gua can be in two rooms. 4. Anyone using this site, for example must throw away " fixed template " asso…

Dear Anon, 1. I am glad you find the forum useful. 2. Firstly, there should not be any conflict between a weak metal and a wood-horse as the second is the heavenly stem plus earthly branch of your year of birth. 3. And in the greater picture of Pillars of Destiny: it is part of the overall picture of your Pillars of Destiny or Ba Zi - where your weak metal is derived from not only the Year but also includes the Month, Day and Time of birth. 4. For Gua or Kua being 1; one has to remember that it is also based on a general overview i.e. based on the Year of birth only. Thus, to re-cap; a proper or a simple basic Pillars of Destiny would alone take into consideration Year, …

Dear Iris, 1. Please refer to my most recent message on the use of fish tank in this conference. The message is titled: Aquarium - rearing of fishes 12/7/2001. 2. In my opinion, rearing of fishes be best left to those who love to rear them as a hobby. Unless, one has been specifically asked to rear one e.g. to neutralise a poison arrow i.e. aimed into the bedroom such as a lone lamp post which may pose a threat i.e. slicing into the home. 3. The adage: If it ain't broken, do not fix it. How true this is (in my opinion). As sometimes, we may unexpectedly bring ourselves more problems. If rearing fish is a hobby, then, it can be expected that we can consult say a FS practi…

Dear Chloe Lin, 1. Yes, it is not a good idea to use a urn. 2. Since the cul de sac is basically of the `metal element' i.e. imagine it as a metal sickle / knife slicing into your home, a better controlling item is red as mentioned earlier to you. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Jill For reference, you could use the method shown under the following link:- http://www.geomancy.net/fs/cecilcompass.htm Where possible, try to use a compass with a higher mass. Since, you most likely may be using the compass, not as often, then try to take note of the following: 1. Try to keep 1 metre distance from the wall (if possible) as walls have reinforced metal bars. (It is also possible for the floor to have the reinforced metal bars which may also have magnetic influence). 2. If there is a sub-power station under your unit, there is also likely to have magnetic force. 3. Where possible, try also to take the reading from the external e.g. a empty plot of …

Dear Maverick, maverick ong wrote: I'm a strong yin metal person but my house main door facing directionis East (ie. wood element). How to resolve the conflict ? Clashes in your house facing element isn't really as bad as having a house falls in your death/disaster sector based on your eight house. This is because if your house faces your death or disaster sector, you cannot really correct this problem. As the house either suits you or not suits you. You just cannot force a house to be suitable to you. Just like if you bought some clothings, if it fits you can wear it, if not you have to get a bigger or smaller size clothes. Based on your ba zi, your element can be enh…

Dear Henry, If you are doing an analysis, it is good to consider analysing the `different' results obtained if your main door is at the back or your actual main door. Usually, the frontage of the house is looked at. Here, standing outside the home or from either the front of the house or the back, check to see which is the brightest.. usually this is done in the morning or up to noon (12.00pm). 1. In many cases, the frontage is where you have your frontdoor or the door to the garage on nearly the same `face'. 2. If your back door is really at the back of the house, it is quite difficult to consider this as your main door. For purposes of FS audit, using say the Flying Sta…

Dear Jose, In my opinion, some FS practitioners may immediately comment... " nonsense " or " rubbish " on the placment of Ba Gua mirrors. Usually, these are western FS practitioners. In the east, such as Hong Kong, Taiwan and the Far East i.e. Singapore, Malaysia, many FS practitioners do ask their clients to use Ba Gua mirrors. In many of the past messages, the usage is for : 1. To ward off evil. Here, many of the FS practitioners may have a religion e.g. Toaism or Buddhist and these group of FS practitioners are the most likely ones who not only ask their customers to place Ba Gua mirrors but also `charms' with them to ward off evil. In fact, there are many who simply …

1. Unless one's home is a palace or at least more than 10,000 square feet and a bedroom is equivalent to or even bigger than some small homes put-together. 2. But, if it takes no more than 15 to 20 steps to walk from one side to another in a bedroom; then, it is not that practical to subdivide that room to look into that room's Feng Shui, sector by sector. 3. Many Feng Shui practitioners are "not-so-free" nor more importantly, find it not practical todo so. However, ifany of your room is the size of half a football pitch or an olympic sized pool, then go ahead...

Dear Jen, Please don't get too unduly worried about this. There are so many theories in Feng Shui. One reference point has to do with these: 1. Spirits - are (were) said to travel in a straight line. The thought is (was) that they cannot negotiate turnings. This is the rationale why, many bridges have curves or even some Feng Shui practitioners ask their clients to tilt their door at the NE. 2. Clue: The idea came about because: NE is suppose to be the location where spirits or ghosts come into our world i.e. the devil's gate. And it would be so convenient; (to enter our homes) if our main door happens to be the first door they see. BTW, they are said to be able to go thr…
