Hi In order to create some unique design to my master bedroom, the ceiling was designed in the way that half of it waswith false ceiling. And next time my bed would be placed under it. From your advice, I understand that it's not favourable to place bed under beam but not sure for false ceiling. My mum was very unhappy over it & keep stressing that it's very bad.Attached is a photo of the design of the false ceiling in my bedroom. Hope that you could give some advice. Thanks & regard.

So long as the "top-view" it ain't look like a missing corner; whatever material that one uses to outline the house with say glass or concrete is in-material.

Dear Oliv, Under the Holy Trinity of Geomancy: 1. Heaven Luck - what is given to us 2. Earth Luck - Feng Shui 3. Human (man-luck) - human relationship factors and psychology Most of it, I would personally think would fall under Human (man-luck)! It is about firstly, -- our feelings... As you had written, one may feel quite uncomfortable or some "worries" of whether it can or cannot affect Feng Shui Another is about "face" or for the Chinese "prestige". A half-painted house that is left halfway unpainted for sometime could imply that symbolically or we are in "financial difficulties". I know some of us don't care "too-hoots" what the neighbour(s) say! But, all these d…

Dear Robert Lee Goodmorning, After focus our house. I found alot of error need to be corrected. 1. Have use the pre-paid credit flying star wrongly. As housedirection NE1 not SW. 2. Found the main entrance under breadwinner Gua 2 Prosperitylocation but thenbuild partition due of main door diagonallyface the master bedroom and toilet. As NE (main entrance)already brighten the area. Money drain out easily. Should Ibreakdown the partition (build early this year 2005). If I were not to break down the partition as to block the inauspicious location NE (devil's gate) and East line join NE apart of livingroom and office (East is Disaster) but suitable to me(Excellent).Breadwi…

1. Frankly, the number of pillars and glass is more symbolic or based on cultural preferences like Cantonese dialect group seems not to like 4 etc... 2. Other considerations include having an auspicious width of the partition. Most of the time, for government Housing Board flats, if the main door is immediately next to a side of a wall, then often, an optimium width of the partition is between 106 to 109 cm and if more exact, it could be 107 cm. Some partitions can be longer approximately 127 cm thereabouts.

Hi Master, I've heard that it is good to add a partition inbetween Main door and window to avoid the "Qi" from directly flowing out. But have also read that placing a partition after the main door is bad as it blocks the "Qi" from going into the house. Please advise if you would recommend placing a partition based on the floor plan. Thanks!

Dear Anon, This is actually a very common problem for a lot of people. This is where you need to adopt a give and take approach. When looking for for a home, you give the best facing (ie excellent/prosperity etc) to the breadwinner. In our traditional chinese culture, the man of the house is the husband or father of the family. Then the breadwinner will enjoya less suitable bedroom (ie spook/irritation etc). Given that the breadwinner gets his luck from the house, he can now give a better bedroom to his spouse. Thus, the spouse can have a less suitable facing of the house (ie spook/irritation etc), while a better bedroom ie (excellent/prosperity etc). This way you can …

Dear Philip, Frankly, in my opinion; the hand-me-downs you mentioned perhaps has more to do with co-incidence, than anything else. This is because logically, such items do not seem to pass down an illness or a situation. I would strongly thing that the hand-me-downs is not really a major issue. But, it is no harm playing safe - not to hand it over to your new born. So far, the incomplete picture is that Flying Star feng shui has SE as #5 at this sector. Please check to see if the room does not have earth tones especially yellow, cream or beige or fire tones e.g. red, pink or purple in this room. As these two elements are not favourable for this lunar year at SE. Wishing y…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I am new to this website. Just curious whether are our destinies(study, career, marriage, etc...)set when we are born? Are we able to change or accept them as it is???? In general, under feng shui there is Heaven, Earth, Human luck. So under the heaven luck, it is often said that the kind of luck a person is supposed to have is generally pre-determined. However, since there are still two more factors Earthluck and Human luck, these two can still help to alter some of the given luck. For example, a good Earth luck can make an inauspicious 10-year luck better than it is predicted in the ba zi. Good Human luck ie having good relationship with yo…

Note: I strongly suggest you chrome plate your peacock feathers. If you are at IMM, I think it is at third storey, (just after the car park entrance, to the right, there is a sticker shop; do see if you can purchase a circular `police' badge - to stick to the back of the car. (Apologies, this scanned image is not clear.. but I hope u get the idea:) In Singapore, the morale of the story is "YOU KISS, YOU AND I PAY:( " (Lose No claim bonus NCB etc...) Warmest Regards, Cecil Thanks again for your humorous reply. Perhaps the road tax disc is still not enough looking at the accident rates. so, i put peacock feathers at the back of my car, staring at the driver behind me and m…

Dear Anon, Frankly, there is no major issue with the poster. However, if we do stare hard-enough at a peacock feather, many of us may see a large "eye" looking at us. Perhaps, this may make some of us feel uncomfortable especially since it is in a private bedroom. If you really feel uncomfortable whatsoever, then best to remove it. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Fiona, 1. For situation for pearl string and parent string or whatever, it is always best to match the layout to the flying star chart. For example, key numbers like #8 mountain and water should be in an appropriate sector. Therefore, ideally as many sectors can be activated for the pearl string to benefit from it. This is where hopefully, good sectors are not locked at toilets / storeroom etc. Thus, this kind of charts must specifically be located at the rooms most beneficial. The saying goes " a miss is as good as a mile " 2. You will still have to cure the star 2, 5 etc. The difference is that the pearl string combination is all about enhancement but this does no…

Dear Anon, Please see below:- As mentioned in my earlier reply on this subject; this is actually contingent on the Flying Star Feng Shui. Yes, it is based on the Flying Star Feng Shui. No, based on what I have understood of the concept, it has to be a reall hill e.g. as high as a 1 storey building. For tall trees and bushes; often; it is not considered as a hill (since, it still no matter what allows air to pass thru. Another senario is that i.e. it depends! Since no two situations are similar in every home). I appreciate; that in the future, it is best not to use the "Anonymous" on topics such as this one. Else, I may not post it out. The rationale is because…

Dear Elizabeth, In my opinion, usually, if it is a painting of a single peony, this represents maidenhood and particuarly in the Tang Dynasty era, it is said to represent the femal genitalia. However, in ancient China, the significance is that it is considered the Queen of all flowers and signifies distinction and wealth. It is also a flower associated with the season of Spring. The most popular coloured peony (peonies) are RED. Later on, in the story of the Eight Immortals, there is a Bai Mu Dan or White Peony ... that challenged Lu Dong Bin (one of the eight immortals) and she won the contest. In my opinion, a picture with many peonies represents a vibrant `Spring' seas…

Dear Cecil, Thank you very much for the quick response. I am quite understand now about the houses on hilltops. But how about those houses having the stove sit right at the northwest corner which burn the breadwinner's luck? My friend is hesitate to move in such a house but all the neighbors who have the same floorplan seem to have lived there peacefully for years. I also have another question concerning about the four animal symbols. In your major Fengshui theories online, you describe the north is tortise and south is phoenix. The house should sit against the hill (tortise, north) and facing the south. But my house is facing the north (open space) and against a hill (so…

Dear Alex, 1. Actually, what it means is that for example: if one has a new home completed on or before 2004; but had only moved-in after 2004, then we can consider it as a Period 8 home. 2. Thus, it is not like someone else had moved-out of the home especially if it was built prior to 2004 and when we move it, it does not mean that the home is now a Period 8 home. This "old" home is still considered a period 7 or 6 .... etc.. home. 3. Therefore, it applies to homes that had being completed prior to 2004 and no one had yet stayed in it. And when we purchase and stay in it from 2004 onwards, we can than consider it a Period 8 home. Butit is not a period8 home under Para…

Dear Cheui May, Every period can have a Double e.g. 1s; 2s; 3s; 4s; 5s and the rest of the periods. This depends on one of the compass directions in 15 degree increments. These periods are considered good if they fall under the same period e.g. double 5s are considered good in Period 5. Perhaps, it is because you have not encountered a compass direction that has the right combinations of double 5s. Warmest Regards, Cecil On 11/26/00 11:35:00 PM, Cheui May Heui /wrote:

Dear Anon, In my opinion, the interpretation is based solely on the address. More importantly, the level at which you use traditional methods—or if you are only a casual follower of Feng Shui—may influence which approach is best for you. Alternatives like focusing on the correct shapes and forms, or avoiding poison arrows directed at the house, are easier to apply. More advanced techniques, such as Flying Star or Pillars analysis, depend on how involved you wish to be. In numerology, the term "troubled mother" refers to parental worries, which is based on the direct Chinese translation of the number combination 3, 4, and 1. numbers. Warmest Regards, …

I'd like to know how important is the effect of the year and time star on a geomantic chart.I have a house that was build in period 6 with a facing of 210 degrees south-west.In 2004 my facing will have year star 2 and time star 5 in facing, which happens to be my front door too! The original geomantic chart has facing star 9, mountain star 6 and base star 3. Will the 2004 star combination affect in anyway! Will I have to protect from the negative 2-5 combination? If so in what manner would you suggest? An answer would be extremely appr?ciated! My kua number is 3 by the way if that is needed, my partner9, and my kids 2,5,4.
