Dear Oliv, Firstly, Good Luck in selling of your home! Most of the time, the practical advise is/are: 1. Where possible, if the home needs a fresh coat of paint, this is a very good investment. 2. If the home is tenanted or occupied, it is always best to keep the home neat, tidy and remove as much clutter as possible. Generally, from a Feng Shui point of view, unless the home has some good sailent Feng Shui advantages e.g. it has a good view, or the home is e.g. a NE facing etc... Here, the buyer should be appreciative of what is good Feng Shui in particular for the home. Otherwise, most of the time, price is one of the major considerations as well as how well…

Thanks, Cecil. We have added some good Feng Shui touches to the house to make it more auspicious, so hopefully that will attract the "right" owner. I just hope it is soon! Judy Knight

Dear Kaushal, In my opinion, other than if the house has good Feng Shui qualities and if the buyer is aware of FS, one can use it as a selling tool. Otherwise, I read with `amusement' some `cures' suggested include tie a ribbon etc... Many factors include the selling price, market conditions and equally ... luck. Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. Feng Shui is not a `cure all'. 2. A sensible approach is that unless the home has significant good Feng Shui; and if the buyer is wise about Feng Shui, we can bring up good points on the `Feng Shui' of the home. 3. But be careful! This is a double edged sword! Sometimes, the buyer may ask: why you say the Feng Shui is so good yet, one is relocating? The best answer is that one is `upgrading'. Otherwise, it is hard to buy such a story. 4. We therefore refer any of the above as " Earth luck ". 5. On a `Heaven luck' point of view, the other situation is to look at good dates that suits us e.g. auspicious dates. But, again, this is quite limited, since, often w…

Dear Susan, Since you do not have furniture inside, then perhaps, see if the external landscape looks appealing or `clean'. As you had mentioned, the `first' impression of the front of the home is important. Often, Feng Shui is not meant to sell a property. But most people like: convenience (to work/schools/markets etc). And, likewise, $$$ plays an important part of the attractiveness of a home for a buyer. And if a home has good Feng Shui, such as open space and friendly, FS interior, hopefully, some clients may appreciate this. Wishing You all the best in selling your home! Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Kuga, Thambyrajah Kugathasan wrote: I am selling an apartment and would like to know whatfeng shui measurescan beutlizied toexpeditethe sale. Unfortunately, feng shui is no miracle cure for all problems. There is very little you can enhance in Feng Shui to help expedite a sale of a property. The reason is because the ultimate factor whether a potential buyer will purchase the place, will depend on the location of your home, the ease of transport, the price etc. With a lot of properties available, that means that the buyer has lots of choices to find the best home for him. So under such a situation, there is really very little feng shui can help. You can only make u…

Dear Daniel, I don't think it is a good idea to let your car rot since it will make the surrounding chi stale and it might even block the good chi. But then it is just my opinion. Anon

Dear Lisa, 1. Using Flying Star and other forms of Feng Shui is basically to enhance our earth luck i.e. the luck of our home. 2. There are many other forms of `luck' such as: 2.1 Personal Luck 2.2 Luck derived from our `Heaven luck' or Pillars of Destiny. 2.3 Earth Luck thru understanding and usage of Feng Shui i.e. earth luck of the home. In order for us to be lucky or increase our luck, the above `luck factors' are taken into consideration. 2.2 is the other `method' of trying to increase our `Heaven luck'. The main idea is to increase all our luck factors and this would give us a chance to get things `done' smoothly. 3. The other factor is knowing our element and stren…

Dear Anon, To be truly honest, unfortunately, there is no specific "cure" under Feng Shui. Wishing you all the best! Dear Juliet, 1. First of all, welcome to the forum. 2. Most of us sincerely believe, and I personally do, that all one can ask is an honest living. 3. In my opinion, door to door sales is quite tough. But again, selling cutlery is truely an honest living and should be seen in that context. 4. There is really no issue nor inauspicous with regards to this. So far, the only auspicious beliefs are in relation to gifts:- It is a no no to give a loved one either shoes or a clock. 5. In Feng Shui, the only other issue is more of a common sense, in to living any sharp knifes around. This is especially not safe for younger children. Wishing you all the best in whatever you do:) …

Dear RosaLinda, 1. Usually, it is best to apply marketing techniques to the sale of the home. Equally important is the price / price per sq metre of the home. 2. If the home has some good Feng Shui `properties'; and provided the potential purchaser believes in Feng Shui; it can help. 3. Where Traditional Chinese beliefs are concerned: 3.1. Some people have chosen `auspicious' date/time for viewing etc... Warmest Regards, Cecil

Honestly, Feng Shui is not a cure all. It is a holistic approach to harmony, health and balance of qi. Scientifically, Feng Shui can still be used, but this is "troublesome" especially for newbies or anyone not family with it. As for selling, if one knows how to: first locate where the home has bad star numbers like #3 , #5 and #7, there is a higher chance based on Feng Shui to improve the luck for selling the home.

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: What should I do in accordance with Feng Shui to quickly sell my home? Frankly, there is very littlein terms of feng shui that you can do about selling a house quickly. Except maybe make use of some of the auspicious feng shui benefits of the house as a selling point in your promotion or maybe even to improve your luck by choosing a good date to meet etc. Otherwise, nothing else can really help you here. Dear Deidre, If your daughter is frequently getting injured or sickness, most likely if a Flying Star chart is done, there should usually be bad #numbers such as #2 or #5 in your daughter's bedroom. Please see below:- Warmest Regards, Cecil

House faces due North. Unfortunately, Feng Shui is not a miracle cure for all problems. If the house has some good feng shui feature, you can make use of that point as an additional point to helping to promote the sale of the house. The other thing you can do is attempt to improve your own personal ba zi luck so that your overall luck will be boosted. This way, it may help you get a buyer that is interested in your home. Otherwise, theses non-feng shui factors are always at t…

Dear Sophia, Sophia Chia wrote: I come across from one of the articles if we will to sell the house we can check the ba zi the auspicous time for the buyer to have a look of the house. There is very little feng shui aspect that you can do to improve the sale of the house. But ultimately, whether a potential buyer even notices that you have a house for sale depends on your real-estate agent's ability to get people to notice your unit is for sale. Ultimately, your location, priceof your home, how clean it looks etc. All these will be the determining factor f…

Dear Vijay, In my opinion, there are many other factors that can influence the sale of your house. Overall, the main factors are: 1. Location, location, location. 2. Selling price & market conditions. 3. Luck factor - however, there are said to be many forms of luck. Chinese divinity uses Pillars of Destiny (map out Heaven's luck) and try to increase this. 4. For Feng Shui, if there are salient or good points of the house under Feng Shui; one may try to `sell' this as value added - provided the buyer can be convinced about Feng Shui and good points about it. Sometimes, if the house is not so good, this can however backfire. 5. For a new good house, you can try out th…

Hi, Before one uses the " semi-circle " one must use it correctly. The correct way is to use the semi-circle facing outwards of your home or building. Never `turn' the semi-circle inwards acting like a sickle or blade slicing towards the house. This is similar to having `pointed' arrow towards you. It is also based on Symbolism in Feng Shui as the semi-circle `looks' like a Chinese butcher's knife. Do remember the above and avoid doing it wrongly. Warmest Regards Cecil
