1. In fact on the contrary, toilet under a staircase is instead a blessing in disguise. 2. Frankly it is luckily just a toilet. Another common area is a storeroom below a toilet which is equally ecxellent. 3. Thus a cure is not necessary, here. 4. A dining table facing the stairs is again, based on shapes and forms is nothing serious so long as the dining table [is not too close to] the estairs that should anyone accidentally falls or trio, will not hit especially the head against the table. 5. Based on Shapes and forms, again, avoid any sharp objects on the dining table e.g. a scissorss placed on that part of the dining table for too long. 6. A plant, at the dining table…

Hello Master! Does a toilet underneath the staircase have any remedy? I have been looking at a property with the attached plan - the stairs continue over the toilet and laundry here to the first floor of this townhouse. Or should we no longer consider this property? Many many thanks!

This article I wrote around 1996 (thereabout) shows the danger of underground water. (Underground water may include underground water channels or even sewerage running below a bedroom:- http://forum.geomancy.net/resources/art/art-under.php For those who are building their dream home should take serious note of it. And for those who stay in landed property, it is good to find out where your sewerage pipe is running on the ground level. Hopefully, it is not running below your living room sofa, or even a specific bedroom in the ground floor!

Dear Juliana, These are inherent problems that one should avoid if possible. Frankly, there are no cures unless, the bathroom is not above e.g. the study room or dining room. Where possible, spent less time at these locations. Warmest Regards, Cecil

1. Frankly, the main concern is that of placing an altar with it's back sharing the toilet wall. 2. For example; this applies to both Chinese altars of various gods and even some Catholics who have a small "symbolic" altar. 3. Otherwise, any other concerns has more to do with personal feelings or personal sentiments: in your case a deep concern of placing family photos say on wall mounts. 4. Given the layout plan that you had provided; in-fact, there are many who had placed their dining table next to the toilet wall or sharing the wall -

Hi Master Lee I have read in several places that the SW sector represents the female. If the female resides in a place where the toilet/kitchen/storeroom is in the SW sector, it is supposedly extremely detrimental. 1)does this mean that she should eliminate such a unit when house hunting? 2)does this common belief have any basis at all? 3)are there workable remedies to address it? Would appreciate your views. Thank you.

Yeah, forgot, Honeywell site also recommends the use of specific plants to help clean the air in the home:- http://content.honeywell.com/yourhome/eiac-air_cleaners/plants.htm Perhaps, for those who cannot (for now) afford the air cleaner can look at the recommended type of plants that can help to clean the house's air. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Master Cecil, I read that when building a house, one way to get rid of bad chi from toilets is to paint the tip of drains of the toilets red before the toilets are installed. Is is a good idea?

Hi What if I have already fixed the other flaws? As indicated, a hulu can be used to trap the wealth if the toilets are located at NE of house. What kind of hulu (i.e. made of what material) and where to place the hulu so as to fix this flaw?

Dear Angela, Please see below: Frankly, toilets are commonly situationed in all directions of a home. And in order to determine if one sector is not favourable (therefore remedies are placed) if not, no action should be taken. More importantly: Where is the toilet situated? Where possible, toilet(s) should not be situated at the frontage (next to main door); or centrepoint of the home. Often, if toilet(s) are not situated at this sector, there is no issue in having a remedy. Usually, in order to properly look into this question (from a Flying star perspective); then the sector chart should be looked into closely. For example, since 2004 is coming. And there are m…

Dear Anon, One can place a bedside table between the toilet door and the bed. Here, one also has to place a table / reading lamp on it. By doing so, it will act as a `partition' between the toliet area and the bed. For the sha qi i.e. corner pointing towards the bed, especially if it is made of wood you can use a wind chime. You can try this out. Since metal is overall quite a safe element to use and there should normally not be any `harm' doing this i.e. experiment. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. From my past and present experience, I found that many owners who had moved into such homes e.g. especially with toilet positions in `bad' locations. 2. I am not sure if it is a coincidence, but, in many situations, many of such owners have problems with their finances. Especially also if there are equally poor Shapes and Forms. This is my main concern. 3. In fact, just this month alone, I have done on-site Feng Shui audit and again (if this is a coincidence): many of the owners who had such `problems' encounter financial problems. Most of the time, it is compounded with other Shapes and Forms problems. 4. Two months ago, a past client, had success in his …

Dear Caroline, Frankly, there are not much one can do here. Overall, try to see if your house can benefit from FS luck in a holistic way than to base it on one sector. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. Frankly, if one lives in an apartment, there is no choice to relocate the toilet. This is unlike a private landed property where, some renovations can be done to shift the toilet position. 2. Just several weeks ago, this client was telling me that one of their friends had a Feng Shui practitioner `Feng Shui' their friends home. 3. The practitioner asked the couple not to use the Master bedroom toilet forever. And close the door (permanently). 4. This is not a good solution: 4.1 The best is to check for any other leaks in a home and fix them. Here, we should fix other leaks and try to increase our luck in other areas. 4.2 If a toilet is there, it is there. A…

Dear Master Lee, I recently got interested in Feng Shui and found out that certain toilet placements in the unit that I am renting is unfavourable (please correct me if I am wrong). I have attached a picture of the floor plan showing the sectors of my unit. 1. The toilet that mainly concerning is the toilet that is located at the main entrance (Southeast). Not only is it located at the wealth sector, it is very near the main door. Is there anything I can do to remedy the negative qi of the toilet with regards to its sector, and also placement near the main door? Also, is it still advisable to place a water fountain on the left side of the door (looking out) to a…

Dear Anon, For office, of course it will be good to have some window as it will firstly look nice and bright. But even if you do not have the window is fine especially in use as a store or warehouse. In addition, you will have a lack of nice view which can be very good impact on a client especially in a waiting or meeting room area. In addition, there will be no additional entry points for Qi to enter into the office except the main door. Hope that helps. Hello: I've been reading and looking for a solution to a main door facing east and south-east direction and a center of house toilet. Things have been very bad and going on decline since we moved here, job losses, sickness, and constant tension. After doing analysis we realized that this house was not a good choice. We have tried several remedies but things have not improved, moving is completely out of the question for now, perhaps you can suggest some remedies to help change the energy of this house. ( We are very optimistic ) but we feel there is something in this house which has been seen in different areas and at different times. ( kind of arm hair raising experience…

Dear Rosita, In my opinion, usually, there are more to it than just by coincidence that the bathroom is located at your romance sector. Do try to check for any `leaks' in your home. Applying first, Shapes and Forms and doing an Eight House chart to see what are the intangible forces. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, In a past article in this website; I have mentioned that there was a study in Germany. Where it was reported that there were higher incidences of cancer for those who place their bed above a sewerage pipe. In your case, hopefully, the toilet bowl shares another wall (other than with your bed head). If so, so long as the toilet bowl does not share the same wall as your bed-head this is often fine. Just try to avoid having the toilet bowl (pipes) on the same wall as your bed-head. Warmest Regards, Cecil Quote: Anonymous wrote: I have a wallbetween my bedroom and bathroom. The toliet is placed behind that wall. If I put my bed against that wall, would tol…

Hi Master Cecil, Im trying to find a good date to move in, and according to online tong shu, 20th October 2025 is an auspicious day to move in. But when I put in the 30 Days Free Auspicious Date, the main owner date for 20th is inauspicious. According to the free auspicious date calculator, date 22nd October is a good day for all of us, but in Tong shu, 22nd October 2025 moving date is an inauspicious day. Which one should we follow for moving in date? As half of the family members are in school on weekdays, should we wait for all family members to be home to do the moving in ceremony( around 3pm plus) or should main breadwinner and myself do the move in c…
