1. Usually for such a question, it needs more indepth analysis. However, you did mentioned that the aquarium is at Northwest corner of the office. 2. Under the trigram, NW is = the head (male) of the household and thus affects your husband. NW is also where one of the most important trigrams in the modern ba gua chart = Heaven luck. 3. Since we do not have detailed information to work on, it is best to remove especially the most recent water feature. And avoid placing any more such things. Dear Molly, 1. Under the Feng Shui concept `if it no longer can be seen, it no longer becomes a " threat ". This principle can also be applied to the gas cylinder. 2. Usually, it is kept away from the bedrooms either next to it or directly below a bedroom. 3. Generally, it is advised that the cable is not too long or placed too far from the source (if possible). 4. If the tank is `concealed' or placed in a cabinet, then, place it like any other liquid e.g. a water heater in such a location. Thus safety would be a primary concerned when compared to `Feng Shui'. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Vicki, 1. There are two major theories/concepts to refer to on the placement of water positions. 2. The two major concepts are:- 2.1 Shapes and Form Feng Shui Here, it would depend on the type of water position. If the water position is flat e.g. a ground level pond e.g. for koi fish etc... than this can be represented by `clear space'. But if it is a fish tank, usually the fish tank is tall with leg stand, than it cannot represent `clear space'. `Clear space' is akin to a bird flying freely infront ... unobstructed. Usually water positions that provide clear space are especially good at the frontage of the home. While fish tank should be placed against a wall. Hong…

Here are some of the major considerations:- 1. Avoid hanging the photo (portrait) sharing the same wall as the toilet. 2. Avoid hanging the portait facing the toilet. 3. Try not to have the photo facing the main door. 4. Try to avoid having the portrait facing the dining table. 5. Avoid placing the portait in any "persons" bedroom. 6. If it is placed in a study or an EMPTY bedroom, place it close to or next to the window. But make sure that the sun does not shine directly onto the portait. 7. Avoid hanging the portait at the "end" of the hallway. 8. Avoid hanging it sharing the same wall as the stove or facing a stove or facing kitchen utensils such as knifes, forks (s…

Dear Bless, For a mirror in the bedroom, the most favourable place is on your dressing table provided the dressing table is not facing your bed. It can be from the level of the dressing table and it should not `cut-off' part of your head. Therefore, the mirror need NOT be of full height from " tip to toe ". The mirror should also not face the toilet door, such that when you come out of the toilet and see can the mirror. Mirror must also not be placed above the headrest of your bed set. You can place the mirror below a window again, it is best to place the mirror on your dressing table (which does not face your bed). Warmest Regards, Cecil Lee -----Original Message----- Fr…

Dear Darlene, 1. For the Chinese, there is what is known as ancestor worship. Here, a portrait of a loved one or a tablet (representing the loved one) and a incense or joss stick holder is placed on an altar. Usually, many of the houses have space constraints and the altar (ancestor worship) is placed in the living room or dinning room. 2. I believe, your situation is not the same as the above. But rather to keep the portraits. In your case, it is best to keep the portraits on a wall, in a `quiet room' such as the study room. Perhaps, you can also share with us have large are the portraits and if you have any other rooms that you have thought off. Alternatively, in the w…

Edited by Robert: Combined similiar post together Dear Robert, Thank you for your reply. I have a clearer idea what to do for my stove in the kitchen now. However, im now more worried as u also mentioned: A. suitability of the house for the breadwinner B.favourable bedroom for breaswinner, etc i'm only owner and living alone with flatmate so i am main breadwinner. According to the personal analysis, i belong to the east group, my gua number is 9 and i'm a south house with N, E, SE and S as best directions. My main door faces SW [six killings] and my best bedrom in the flat lies in the NW [death for front of room]/ N [longevity for back of room near window]. A…

Dear Ryan, 1. Priority should be given to placing the bed in a `good' Shapes and Form position: 1.1. Usually, the bed is against a solid wall 1.2. Preferably it should not be on the same wall as the bedroom entrance door. 1.3. It should not be on the same wall as the toilet. 2. The above are the more important considerations for placing the bed. 3. Only after one has considered the `Shapes and Form' of bed placement, then should one consider, sleeping in a good sector or having the head face a good direction and not the other way around. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Jonathan, 1. In my opinion, it is quite dangerous to practise such "Feng Shui". 2. For example, let me give you an example. Singapore is quite a small island. And if we drove a car at non-peak period, it takes less than 1 hour from Western Singapore to Eastern Singapore. And it takes only about 45 minutes to travel from North to South or vice versa. 3. If one checks several of the messages under this forum; there was a recent message asking whether since the person is a West group person, should he, stay in the West? 4. The question asked is what happens to his family if they are East group persons? It is bad enough for husband and wifes to sleep in separate bedrooms…

Dear Felicia, We should take advantage of both: Flying Star Feng Shui and Eight House Theory. Under the Flying Star Feng Shui or as you mentioned, `the stars': if a sector is out of balanced (under Flying Star Feng Shui); you should neutralise any bad elements within this sector. Once you had neutralised any imbalances under this sector, there is really no issue: if this is a good sector under your Eight House. If this sector is your `Excellent' sector under Eight House, do take advantage of it. By sleeping under this sector. For those, who do not have a choice, e.g. all the bedroom locations e.g. bedroom 1, bedroom 2 or bedroom 3 are not favourable with regards to Eight …

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: My husband and I live in an HDB 3 room flat. There are only 2 bedrooms. The master bedroom happens to be in his spook direction and my excellent direction. The other bedroom happens to be my death direction and his prosperity direction. Where should we place our bed? The master bedroom is overall a better direction for both of you. Reason is because if either person is Death or Disaster, then it won't really benefit. At least Spook or Disaster is acceptable. This is especially if the house suits your husband, then even if he has the least favourable room it is fine. The reason is because he will gain luck from the house. The better bedroom luc…

Dear Anon, Firstly, a warm welcome! The common saying goes " Rome was not built in a day". Nowadays with easy access to the website, you try to begin exploring authentic Traditional Feng Shui. How to start? The Chinese Luck system is based on "the holy trinity" of luck. And one can classify most of the systems in general under:- 1. Heaven Luck - what one is suppose to be born with 2. EarthLuck - The Feng Shui of one's home &/or office 3. Human or Man Luck - self, relationship with others One useful start is to read the various articles in this forum classified under one of the three categories to better understand the three different luck systems. Other useful…

Dear Anita, Thanks for bring up this interesting question. We will first begin by looking at the `history' of Feng Shui in China. In the past, Chinese were mostly into agricuture (farmers ) and live-stock rearing. What this means is that food was obtain from the land. Eaten, and left overs were `re-cycled' e.g. as some of them they rear pigs, these "garbage" were given to the pigs to be eaten. Manure or other `solid' wastes were used to fertilise the land. From the above, you will notice that they (ancient Chinese) do not have what we have now... " garbage " in the form of non-biodegradable products etc..... Overall, Feng Shui is used to assess: in the above case of a hom…

Dear Glyn, Please read below:- Well, 8 is weak earth, crystal is water. If you look at water destroying 8 wealth, it is is good if you are a weak water wanting to enhance your wealth. However, if you look at it that 8 being an auspicious star water actually destroys the good star so it is not that a good cure. Rather an earthly type object would be better in terms of Flying star activation. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Dear Kit Fong, Kit Fong wrote: Thank for your prompt response. Is the ba zhi and the kua no. the same? They are different concept. Kua (eight house) only assess your YEAR of birth (ie 1950). So it's accuracy is limited. However, though it is simple it's suitability analysis is still very useful. The Kua element will not be as accurate as the Ba Zi element. Ba Zi assess upto day and even time of birth (ie. 19Aug 1950 at7am). So this is more accurate for luck andelement determination. Hope that helps. Dear Linh, Yes, you are correct with regards to the toilet next to the main entrance. The two most inauspicious situations are:- 1. Having the toilet next to your home entrance (at either side). This is because the main entrance is like the `mouth' of the house and is considered important as it is considered the first location external Qi comes into the house. 2. Center of the house. Best is to keep the center clear. This is where all intangible forces congregate. A toilet in the center of the house will mean a drain in financial resources. Other situations e.g. toilet at the East, West are equally important but weigthage should be given to the above two points. Any cures…

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Pls advise on which birthdate should we use for all kinds of feng shui calculator ( eg. four pillar, kua, bazi, etc ) - the solar ( as in the birth certificate) or chinese lunar date? The online calculators on our website requires the use of your western/gregorian/solar date and time of birth (as defined in your birth certificate). It will then do the necessary conversion to the chinese lunar calendar for any specific analysis. That is why you will see a western and lunar calendar information at the beginning of the report for you to counter check to ensure that the information are correct. Hope that helps.
