In Feng Shui, so long as:- 1. More concerned is placed on the Shapes and Form School of Feng Shui. For example, the bed is not next to a window or sleeping under a beam for a prolonged time, bedroom should preferably not be above the kitchen. A poison arrow e.g. the sharp edge of a table `slicing' the bed. These are some of the examples to take note in relation to Fe…

Dear Evelyn, I strongly belief, there is truth in what you have mentioned. The most important part of a business is the front and this falls under the Shapes and Form School. Dear Michelle, Thank you for your kind words on the forum. Nowadays, this forum has grown quite large and there are many who have joined the forum from day one and there are also new users. Therefore, the best approach is to try to have a " balance " in the information provided. For those of you who have been with the forum for quite a while, if you have constructive advice, feel free to share it with all of us. Learning is two way and it is nice to hear from everyone. Back to your question. There are a few practioners who have the view point that:- 1. One should sleep on a raised bed. This is to allow Qi to pass thru under the bed. 2. Others feel that the above argument …

Dear Laraine, Before we address your question, you may have to be aware that there are a few `levels' of Feng Shui analysis:- 1. Very detailed Feng Shui analysis If a person is new to Feng Shui, he or she may need to consult an experienced Feng Shui Practioner to address isues such as what you are facing. Alternatively, if you know how to use the computerised tools here, with some help, I am confident you can overcome your problems. The following are the most crucial Feng Shui Theories:- 1. Eight House Theory. I guess you must have already used this to find your most suitable locations in the house. Overall, this theory does what it is suppose to do, find out how suitabl…

Dear Lewis, Please note the following:- 1. If you are standing at your main entrance door (looking outside the house), the fig tree should not be seen directly i.e. slicing any part of the main entrance door. It should be at either side of the house i.e. left or right side. 2. If the tree can be seen directly i.e. slicing any part of the house, it must not have a broken stump. The above two `conditions' is to avoid trees becoming a poison arrow to the main entrance of the house. In Feng Shui, avoid planting too many trees on the North-East (devil's gate) or West (a yin location) or South West (devil's backdoor). Too many trees or plants especially if they are not properly…

Dear Joe, In tradtional Feng Shui, here are the points related to the stove:- 1. The Kitchen is an important component of ahouse as this is where food is being prepared. It will help to ensure good health for the family. 2. The emphasis here is on the position of the stove. In anicient China, building a stove was a very grand affair where an auspcious date and time. This includes the position of the stove. 3. In traditional Feng Shui, preferably, the position of the stove should compliment the spouse (wife). Ideally, it should be placed at one of her inauspicious location but facing the auspicious direction. 4. One " hidden area " to check is to see that water pipes do no…

Dear Suzhen, As the information on your son is limited, perhaps, you can do an initial Eight House Template for your son. Follow the steps under this URL: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm Alternatively, go to www.geomancy-online.com to create his Free computerized Eight House Chart. What you can do here is to see if the room he sleeps in is compatible to him. Dear Cecil, Just to clarify for other users,I believe the Black Sect you mentioned is also known as the Black Hat School. Most books I have read follow this school, by laying a template (usually an octagon and what they call Ming Tang, or center) over the floor plan of the house. Thank you for explaining more about Black Hat/Black Sect. --Joe

Dear Rebeca, There are a few considerations for a fish tank:- 1. Currently there are two methods at looking at the number of fishes to `rear'. Method 1: ======== The most common method is based on general good numbers of fish i.e. fishes should be numbering e.g. 5, 6, 8. (9 is still acceptable). Method 2: ======== The other method is based on your kua number ie. if your kua is Li or South, you should rear 9 fishes. If your Kua number is Kan (North), you should rear 1 fish, if your Kua number is Chen or East, then you should rear 3 fishes. Ideally, this is based on the breadwinner's Kua number 2. A good guideline is to take note of the colour of the stand you are using. Fo…

Thanks for your prompt response, I certainly appreciated. The lake is a part of the entire community and it is shaped as a "dumb-bell" shape with two fountains on the circle sections. This is a man-made small lake, the deepest depth is 7 or 8 feet. The lake will be more than 30 feet from the right side of the house, and will be about 70 feet from the back of the house. The land is flat if you compare the right side to the left of the house. Of course, the right side and the back of the house is higher than the lake. This new house will be built with the main entrance face to South west directory and back to the North-East. The tree is "not" really that big as what you sai…

Dear Simon, The following are points to consider on the display of ornamental Japanese swords:- 1. Like any other swords, it should not face the main entrance door. 2. It should be displayed with the protective sword casing even if the sword is blunt. 3. Ideally, it should be displayed in a display cabinet. 4. The best location to display the ornamental sword is in a `separate' room. For example, in a private office, a `person' room . 5. Avoid displaying it in the living room, dining room, family room. As mentioned above, it should be in a " private " room. If it is displayed under para 5 above, there may be a possibility of relationship problems. Finally, in my opinion…

Dear Simon, Please read below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'free-advice' suppressed suppressed> Date: Monday, May 31, 1999 7:35 PM Subject: Two Homes !! The house which you are staying will have Feng Shui influence over you. The house which is rented will give the tenants the Feng Shui influence. You can only activate or bring the influence to you if you are staying in the house. Feng Shui is not by remote control, where you can enjoy feng shui from somewhere else. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Dear Mecury, Please read below:- -----Original Message----- From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'free-advice' suppressed suppressed> Date: Monday, May 31, 1999 5:07 PM Subject: bedroom in between the wall & the headerboard, is that ok? This is not good in anyway, because there is no support for the bed. The bed should be "anchored" to the wall, and not left as an island in the room. sound ridiculous, but it really makes me wonder). I do know of these affecting the Mountain and Water Star. The magentic and sound disturbance does create such influence normally with the inauspicious stars especially. However, without the details it is pretty difficult to tel…

Dear Mercury, Thanks for sharing with us the picture of the sticker. In this part of the world i.e. Far East e.g. Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Phillipines, it is quite common to find people of religious faith `combine' their religion with Feng Shui. Although Feng Shui is a non-religion. Here in this forum, we do not mix religion with Feng Shui. I have seen or studied quite alot of Chinese drawings(symbols) and emblems. Currently, the most popular drawings (symbols) are of 1. The Yin and Yang (circular symbol) 2. The First Heaven Sequence symbol. Even Geomancy.net uses both in its logo. Another variant is the I-Ching format or Tai symbol used by Geomancy-U.com and …

Dear Debrah, 1. Best is that the ceiling is high. The higher the better as this will have less impact on you. 2. Avoid sleeping `dead center' (immediately under the) " V ". 3. One permanent way to counter act this is to use a `poster bed' i.e. with four pillars. One can use a cloth material overhead. (But this depends on your budget etc...) Sleeping under a slop is not as bad as sleeping directly under the " V" or a pillar. Depending on the material of the " V" e.g. if it is wood, one way is to use `metal' element to counter this. As there is not much information on your personal element or its strength is available, you may have to forgo this option. As for the aircon ve…

Dear Ewa, Here are some guidelines as to the placement of the stove and water elements (water elements include the sink & fridge):- If the Kitchen is located at the South (Fire), East (Wood) and South-East (Wood) ,W (Metal) and West (Metal) In the above situations, the `fire' in the kitchen will not `die' out and even if you have a water position opposite the stove, it is fine. In fact, a water position opposite the stove at the above locations can help `cool' down the fire. If the Kitchen is located at the North (Water), North-East (Earth ) and South-West (Earth) In the above situation, where there Water and Earth, the fire can easily be extinguished, you should NEVE…
