Dear Johnny, 1. A Ba Gua mirror is commonly used under two situations:- 1.1 With the hope that hanging it would ward off evil spirits. 1.2 Another common use is to place it facing a Sha Qi or poison arrow e.g. a main door facing e.g. a T junction. 2. If it is primarily used for the purpose of WARDING OF EVIL spirits, many FS practitioners would recommend: especially FS practitioners who have religious inclination would have the Ba Gua mirror blessed. 3. Some also place a charm (yellow paper charm) above the main door. Here, the practitioner would always recommend that the charm and the Ba Gua mirror be blessed. 4. Overseas especially, in the West, the Ba Gua mirror is mor…

Dear Kay Song, Traditional Feng Shui sites like this practise the following concepts: 1. Heaven Luck Do a search for Pillars of Destiny or Ba Zi or Eight Characters. 2. Earth Luck 2.1 This is truly Feng Shui or the earth luck. 2.2 In Traditional Feng Shui; there are two major schools: - Shapes and Forms - Compass School: Eight House and Flying Star 3. Human or man luck 3.1 This is the most mis-used area. 3.2 For example, go to any Feng Shui site and they often claim that e.g. 3-legged toad or some figurine are very good for us. 3.3 However, there is always a hidden agenda behind this. Imagine, in China a 3-legged toad can be carved for as little as US$15 - cheap labour a…

I am testing the waters of feng shui to initiate positive change in particular areas of my life- namely health and love. I am having trouble applying the bagua to the layout of my home. It has an odd shape and I am at a loss on how to make it work or interpret it. I will post an image of my layout. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Dear Wasis, Would it be possible for you to upload a .gif or .jpg or .bmp file for a clearer understanding of your situation. Usually, you should leave out the main gate as this should not be considered the main entrance. For the main entrance, for many homes, there are usually two doors to the main entrance or distinctly, in many instances, the main entrance door can be seen from the frontage of the house. Or when we drive-in to the house, we could see the main entrance door. Alternatively, it should be the `largest' door in the home. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Let me share with everyone ... 1. My original forum was a third party forum started around 1996. We (Geomancy.net) started our very own forum two years later. This is where we have maintained every single message since then. 2. During that time, there were few Traditional Feng Shui websites and many "Fung Shoey" websites catering to the Fixed Template Fung Shoey appeared nearly every day! 3. For example, if one checks back quite alot of forum messages, it has to do with discussion on Traditional Feng Shui vs Black Hat Sect (Lin Yun) and Fixed Template Feng Shui. 4. In the past, there were few resources dedicated to Traditional Feng Shui. And many western Feng Shui sit…

These are some of the considerations: 1. Fixed template vs Flying star Feng Shui Flying Star Feng Shui belongs to the Compass School and each home can be classifed as belonging to one of the 15 mountains of which, there is a flying star chart based on each home layout plan. If you are referring to those western based Feng Shui where they have a Ba gua map in a fixed format; for example: North = career etc... then all Traditional Geomancy or Feng Shui school don't use such things. Kavita E. wrote: Hello Sir: I understand that a BAGUA MAP can be used for a house and even individually for any room in the house - please correct if I have got this wrong. However, if one …

Dear Michael, In my opinion, Traditional Feng Shui Schools do not practise fixed Ba Gua template or `Black Hat Sect' Feng Shui. Try to do a SEARCH in this forum for `Black Hat' and you can find out the answers why it is not applied here or by any other Traditional Feng Shui Schools. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Hi ! I would like to improve the feng shui of my home (especially the career aspects) but the floor plan is very unusual and I really don't know how to place the bagua map or the adjustments I would have to make... As you can see on the map, my front entrance is at the end of a long and isolated corridor, and the door is tilted towards the exterior of the apartment. Thus, if I align the bagua map with the door, almost all of my apartment would be outside of it. How should I place the bagua map ? What would you recommend ? Thank you so much for your help ! Thérèse

I recently moved into a high-rise condo where my bedroom window is facing a funeral home. In addition to that my condo is on the 4th floor and has a 4 in the room number. I’m not allowed to hang anything outside my window because it may fall and hurt someone walking below. I am looking for guidance as to what Bagua mirror to buy and where to put it, I only know that the mirror should not be in the home. Any help would be grateful, thank you.

In my opinion, it is harder to visualize your situation; just from lots of text info. I guess since you have some positive results from placing the bogus mirror; then continue with placing it and monitor your situation.

I have heard conflicting points on whether or not to include a garage and deck (or other space one doesn't live in) while placing the Bagua. We have an oddly shaped home with our three seasons room that extends out and garage that is attached. Curious as to input on how to apply the Bagua here? I believe this would effectively create a missing sector in a couple places. Thanks!

Oops! You may have wrongly posted your question to the wrong "type" of Feng Shui forum. This forum only practises "Traditional Authentic Chinese Feng Shui". It would be better if you post your question to a "Modern Commercialised so called Feng Shui forum". Frankly, your guess is as good as mine! Quote: Anonymous wrote: I have a question concerning the bagua... I live in a tiny studio apartment, but I think I've done a good job of giving each section of the place a distinct yet harmonious flavor. Throughout the years, I have had a frustrating quandary: some people say the bagua needs to be laid over the home using cardinal directions, and others say the entrance sta…

Dear Leon, "Sector Feng Shui" or simply said - Paying homage to a sector, in my opinion, has the lowest success rate (if any). Even at this basic level, at least considering whether a location is bright (Yang) or dark (Yin) and then determining colour scheme (although) not the best method, but has certainly a higher success rate than enhancing a sector based on it's "so called definition e.g. patriah etc...". Frankly, this type of "Feng Shui" is not practised here. Erh.... " next question, please. " Warmest Regards, Cecil Thanks for all your

Further to what I had mentioned, simply put: The First Trigram is akin to the classic. While the Later Heaven is for a "modernist". Thanks.

I do hope that you are not practising one of those "fixed template" ba gua sort of thing. Where incredibly one lays a fixed template with things like North = Career etc... onto a layout plan. Please go thru the following resources:- * Eight House or Flying Star * Flying Star Feng Shui * Flying Star Feng Shui as a Diagnostic Tool

Ba Gua could not help you in anyway in FengShui. Look into the elements for cure instead. If you insist of buying one, you may order it through this address: www.dragon-gate.com

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I've checked the Earth % in my and my husband's bazhi. It is 12% and 8% respectively - quite little. In that case, going into a bakery business may be considered OK right? It is still best to go with the favourable elements you lack first, rather than unfavourable elements that you lack. As you still need to have your favourable elements before you can benefit from adding more Earth element. So even though your earth element is generally lacking, you can still consider bakery business, but this would also mean that you need to ensure that your house or other areas in your life belongs your favourable element…

Dear Anonymous, 1. In the ba zi, the birth element percentage is calculated during when you are born. So that gives you the percentage which you have at the time of birth assuming other factors such as the current year are not considered. 2. The percentage at each 10-year luck pillars is further calculated to attempt to give you an understanding how that particular 10-year element might influence your overall ba zi luck at that present time. 3. This is to give you a better understanding how your overall elements are at any present time. This will allow you to further fine tune your five element during that period so as to get the best overallresults. 4. Any percentage…
