Dear Angelina, For a 3 / 2 base 6:- Although there is a base 6 metal element. After it exhausts #3, it will become too weak to exhaust #2. Yes, you can add metal or a wind chime here. Do note that it would be `disasterous' to use a wind chime if it happens to be in the following combination:- with 2 / 3 base 6 For such a combination, quietness or stillness is required as this combination can result in " severe " quarrels even between family members and if left uncured may result in lawsuits even within family members. This combination is particulary worse if it is in the bedroom area. It is why, if in doubt i.e. for those who try to apply cures - use 6 coins instead. Be…

Dear Astrid, Thank you for your sketch. I have a better picture now. 1. It is preferred to `close' the toilet door when not in use. 2. From the layout plan, it seems that a partition cannot be errected as it may make the passage narrow. 3. For a mirror, one may have to becareful - as we did not look at the sector; and if under Flying Star, it is an inauspicious sector; one may inadvertently bounce back twice the bad luck. Thus, if you want to place a mirror, here, you can still do so; but you may have to monitor for the next three months.. on this. Warmest Regards, Cecil A warm welcome to the forum. Just moved into apartment in Munich/Germany, where the main door face…

Dear SL, No, it depends. This is the rationale, why, I suggested for a `proportinate' sketch or layout plan. Without a proper sketch, it is not easy to comment whether to superimpose a 9 grid or to assess it as an `L' shaped home. For an `L' shaped home even if we separate it into two rectangles; it may be quite trickly for some to find out what is the direction of the main entrance and whether to use to directions (different) grids for each rectangle or superimpose identical grids to both triangles. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Thank you. I was wondering if/hoping this would be addressed. I was aware of the first problem (resemblence to joss sticks) but not the second two. Thanks for the education/enlightenment. Deb

Dear Maria, Please see below:- In this sector, there is star 2 and 5 making it extremely strong Earthly influence. Therefore, you can use both the Metal and Wood cure at teh same time to create more balance and reduce the earthly influence. Generally, Wood destroys Earth and Metal exhaust Earth, so either way both are cures that can be used. You can choose to use Metal only or Wood only or even both. But in your case, this has 2 & 5 so it would be better if you can use both for this year. In 2002, you need to review to see if what stars comes in to further fine tune it for next year. Generally, you need to first focus on the 20-year (particularly Water an…

Dear Wasis, 1. Under the Eight House Theory, the only thing that we can do is to change the direction of the main door. For example, if the main door is facing North-East (and based on Feng Shui Master's recommendation); this door should change for two reasons:- 1.1. NE (direction) is considered the devil's gate. 1.2. If NE direction is not suitable to the breadwinner. Then, to `kill two birds' within one stone; the main door direction can be changed. (Again, it should be on the advice of a FS practitioner). It is normally not good to give a "wholesale" advise on this matter as a proper audit should be done. And the recommendation "depends" on all the various inputs tha…

Dear "NG", Lets look at this example:- http://www.geomancy.net/mypictures/cgi-bin/mypictures.cgi?search=centrepoint&img=8&cat=all&bool=and (for some of you, if the link is broken, please `cut-and-paste' the entire link above to your browser and load the file). Under the above link, please look at: 1. Graphic file: compass21.jpg and compass21a.jpg 2. The file name: compass21.jpg shows the actual house layout. 3. Let's look closely at file name: compass21a.jpg Try to click on the thumbnail image to show you an enlarged picture of this layout plan. 3.1 You will find the actual centrepoint shown in the picture as " 1 ". Number "2" is the extended centrepoint wher…

Dear Isabel, Thank you for your clarification. 1. Yes, you should stand at the centrepoint or use the template from the centrepoint of the house. 2. There are some resources at this URL to further help you how to do so:- http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm Warmest Regards, Cecil Lee

Dear Christina As mentioned in the earlier e-mail; sometimes we may need to move out especially if the house is not as suitable to the breadwinners. However, we try not to comment further. A competent FS practitioner can usually help to identify the situation. If it is due to some things that can be corrected, then, it may help. As no two situations are alike; it is hard for me to mentioned it. I can recall, situations where; if it is really due to the location and `normal' FS is unable to "cure or correct this "; especially in situations where people face real situations of financial problems. In this situation, they are prepared to `swallow' the bitter pill such as sel…

The use of Wood Windchime

Dear Wasis, 1. You asked a very interesting question. 2. For those who have studied Management subjects: the term " Situational Approach " or " It Depends ". What this means is that it is felt that not two cases are the same. We have to depend on the situation and each situation may vary. Please see below:- To cure #5, #2, #4 and #5; the MOST EFFECTIVE cure is BIG METAL. For #5, (STRONG METAL) it is a " bad, bad boy" and the best cure is to use a 6 rod, metal windchime. For #3, (STRONG WOOD) it is also highly recommended to use the constant chime 6 rod wind chime (symbolically) to `hammer' it like akin to constantly smashing it. Similarily, moving metal such as 6 rod…

Dear Judy, Thanks for the picture of the layout plan. 1. Yes, you can use an ordinary compass. 2. In the past, I had investigated many years back the `long houses' especially in parts of East Malaysia. These long houses, even when they were made of wood had unusual compass readings where the readings internally vary in different compartments. 3. I hope you don't mind if you can: 3.1 Go to a barren land or an open space near to your home. And take a compass reading perhaps from different areas. (Becareful of some open space as it may be littered with (hidden) such as thrown away metal etc... 3.2 Goto the different "compartment" and take the compass reading to check if the…

Dear Alan, You can find out more about how to get the main door direction using this illustrated link:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/art/art-cecilcompass.htm You need to first find the centrepoint of the house. And from this centrepoint; check the direction of the house i.e. stand at the centrepoint of the house and from that location; take a compass reading. This is where the direction of the house is determined. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear John, 1. There is a difference between favourable colour(s) and wealth element colour. 2. Thus for a Strong Metal person:- 2.1 Favourable element/colours: Water (blue/black/grey), Fire (red), wood (green/brown). 2.2 Unfavourable element/colour: Earth 9yellow), metal (white/gold). 3. Wealth element/colour: Wood (green/brown). Thus if one notice carefully, the wealth element colour is one of the favourable colours for the person. The difference here is that under the destructive sequence (reference url: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-5element.htm ) 4. Since the person is a Strong Metal, the Strong Metal can be used to destroy Wood. The end result is what…

Dear Desiree, Thanks for your clarification. In my opinion, stairs leading down may not necessariy mean bad energy. However, it has to be looked on a case-by-case basis. For example, in Singapore's Business District, there are some office buildings where were purposely built such that every one has to walk down (as you have described) to the lobby. And here, they either have one of the e.g. three elevators or (stairs) to their office that is more than 18 floors high. An example is the `Tong Eng' Building at Cecil Street in Singapore. The rationale here is that contrary to popular notations; many developments or buildings are of this design for two main reasons: 1. Because…

Dear Anon, Based on Shapes and Form Feng Shui, it is best to place the fountain either within or at the balcony area (of the frontage). In Flying Star Feng Shui, we usually use it to locate the water stars e.g. #1's + #7's. However, if we are not using Flying Star but basing more on `intuition' then: 1. As mentioned earlier, if you balcony `has an opening' the fountain can be located at usually the `east' side or when one is facing or looking out of the balcony, try to locate it a the `east' side wall or open space. 2. Besides the balcony, and if you have an alternative `large frontage' especially if you house is rectangular in shape, the fountain can be located again at …

Dear Marinella, For the work orientation of office table, you can use the Free report: " Work position Report " at http://www.geomancy-online.com to check which is the best favourable direction of your office table. (To help best position your table). However, do take note that in the application of Feng Shui, there are lots more rulesets that need to be considered. For example, I feel that it is more important to give first priority to position of the work-top based on Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. If you using the Eight House Theory, it is best also to generate the Free Eight House report to see which room is best for you. Under the Eight House Theory, this is of primary…

Dear Hoa Luong, Thanks for your many clarifications. Yes, overall, red is considered an auspicious colour. From your information, I personally feel that it is OK for you to continue with the red painted frontage doors of your convenience store. And this should not have any adverse contrast with the `water' grey colour. Overall, red is indeed an auspicious colour for business. In particular, for example, if it has brass ornaments on it (not compulsory thou). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Peck Wun, Off-white refers to a colour that is white but has a tinge of grey. Or it can also be considered as white with very light shades of other pigments e.g. red, blue, green or yellow. When one look at off-white colour, it is exactly white but slightly duller white. Many of the new paints are white in colour but when we look it at an angle, it looks more like the e.g. pink. Here, very minimal pink is added to these colours. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Wendy, Due to many queries about the type of Ba Gua mirror to use, I have compiled information on the various types. You need to log in to the forum and go to this conference: Photo Tours of Interest (with pictures). Look for the recent messages, e.g. Part I, Part II, and Part III, where I not only list a description of each type but also show pictures of them. Based on the above, you should use the type mentioned under Part I – Ba Gua mirrors. The models applicable for your case are Model A, B, C, or D type of Ba Gua mirror, especially if there is a sharp corner or angle of another building pointing towards your main entrance door. The above fi…

Dear Boss Peng, Thanks for the site/lot map. I now have better picture of the lot. In my opinion, this plot `lot 2' is not favourable since, it is downward sloping behind the plot of land and also between the North-West location. If the slope is not properly redressed, usual problem would be the result of financial problems for the breadwinner. If you can try to forgo this plot i.e. lot 2. As I find it inauspicious. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Wendy, It is good to have the pyramid type roof or `swiss cottage' type of roof. The threat you mention can be neutralised and this is a consideration. Overall, besides the other points I mentioned, if you have the time, use the Eight House template to see which house is best suited for the breadwinner. In particular, it would be better if the main door is not the `death or disaster' sector for the breadwinner. For other family members and the breadwinner, check to see - in particular if the bedroom is suited for each family member - where possible. The other important considerations are the the toilet(s) should preferably not be at the frontage of the house. And if …
