Dear Anon, Frankly, there is not much that can be done via Kua (Eight House). For example, if a house is unsuitable, it is unsuitable for the breadwinner. The only cure(s) are usually physical. For example, either changing of rooms that suit us to even relocating the main entrance to face a favourable angle of the owner. In many of the previous postings, I mentioned that Feng Shui is all about improving one's luck. Please see below:- However, white even for furniture is considered a neutral element. And since white also represent metal, it is one of the safest colours. 1. It depends on what type of "beam" you are referring to. 2. For example, if the "beam" is actually a decorative feature such as a gypsum board ceiling light box "beam" where say the halogen light is mounted in it. And below the bed, it looks like a beam. Then actually this is more of a "cosmetic" than a real beam. Not a major issue in Feng Shui. - Only visually not-appealing. 3. Slanted ceilings are acceptable. Unless it is a full concrete beam. Wooden pillar supports are equally less of an issue. 4. Dear Debbie, In my opinion, the concern here is more of `commonsense' approach. Many of the advise in Feng Shui dwells with `commonsense'. For example, the advise is that it is not good to have a bedroom above a kitchen. Although, fire can happen anywhere in the home, there is some possibility that a fire could break out of a kitchen. As fire, smoke and heat rises; someone living just above the kitchen could be at risk. In your case, it has more to do with `privacy' and security than "inauspicious" Feng Shui. Dear Hardjo, A poster bed is useful if there is a slanted ceiling. The four posts hold e.g. laced cloth. And with it, it will negate the sha qi. Enclosed please find a sample of a poster bed. Many poster beds does not have a roof as shown in the picture. Warmest Regards, Cecil

There were also geomancers that ask their clients to literally place the bed-head against a fullwindow as they were applying Eight House Feng Shui. 2.1. Dear Cecil Hi. The website is good n informative compared to other feng shui sites. But I am stil unsure andI thought I would consult you for a little advice for my study/bedroom in Australia. Dear Anon, Generally, grand duke does not affect a person much unless you refer to renovation work that happen in that sector direction. For bed or sleeping position, priority goes to the shapes and form placement of the bed within the room itself. Followed by, if possible best sleeping direction. Since grand duke isn't so much to worry in this case, thus you can choose to sleep with your head facing East. Please note that as mentioned you should also consider other factors such as the shapes and form of the bed. Hope that helps. Hello shifus! My husband's and my life gua are both 2 and I think my house gua is 8.(if my back is facing front entrance, I am facing SW direction) - same for my master bedroom, For sleeping direction, I am deciding if it should be facing NE or SW. In all instances of West House:- W1 (247.5-262.4) - West Main Door Facing (255) W2 (262.5-277.4) - West Main Door Facing (270) W3 (277.5-292.4) - West Main Door Facing (285) In all the above instances, overall, under the Eight House, the house is considered unsuitable as it is your disaster sector. Dear Keith, In my opinion, it "the bedroom above a garage" may not necessarily be the main cause of the problem. The rationale is that not looking at other diagnostic tools such asthe use of Flying Star Feng Shui etc... there are existing owners who do have a bedroom or even a master bedroom above a garage. Dear Anon, Based on my personal experience, a toilet above the 2nd floor would depend on:- 1. The level of usage of the toilet. 2. The higher the ceiling, the better. Under Para 1; water or water vapour may release `negative ions' or water gases so; it is always advisable to keep that toilet as dry as possible. One good thing is that usually, the sewerage pipes are on ground level (unless you also have a toilet) directly above it. It is best to place the bed away from piping from below. UPDATE: I recently placed a picture of some mountains and some water just outside my bedroom door and have felt much better. Coincidentally i later found out thatI have found that my room has "double facing" small tai ji in period 6 chart of house - the remedy for which (improves health) is to add a mountain (and water form) in the front of the house / room. Thanks in the mean time. :-)
