These are some of the considerations:- 1. "West" considered as Children's corner is kinda Kindergarten type of Fung Suay. 2. Frankly, it still boils down to Feng Shui coming under two flavours:- 2.1. Shapes and Forms Feng Shui (not Fung Suay) 2.1.1. Concepts such as Yin and Yang - Here, majority of the "richer" folks have a child to a bedroom. - A bedroom should have both Yin and Yang - For example the study table is often closer to the windows 2.1.2. Commonsense Feng Shui - Afternoon sun? or direct sunlight? This will definitely affect how we place the study table and bed. - Even if say a facing direction is suitable to a child's study, but if the child has to study in the afternoon; must take note of the glare from filtered light into the room / study area. It is not wise to study directly facing the sun. - If one has enough bedroom; it is felt that one of the most optimium method is to have his bed and study in the same room. Here, the child can if he choose study at the table and on occasions; lay on the bed to carry on reading ... - At the level where the study table is; open book shelfs are the best; as it would allow ease of placing the semister's books and even toys (no issue). - Each child has his /her own study table. As each child has their own habits and don't need to feel uncomfortable sharing their space where they have placed their pen, ruler etc... 2.1.2. Layout of the room - Often, when we see an empty room; most of us would have already felt or envisage where we could place a bed, wardrope and even study table. - Most of us don't feel comfortable with the bedroom door directly behind us etc... 2.2. Compass School Feng Shui:- 2.2.1 Eight House/ East or West Group person Frankly, Feng Shui under this concept is limited. For example, although it is nice to have a room e.g. bedroom or study in our good sector; sometimes, our bedroom is in another sector - no choice! For example, if this child is a east group; but if the bedroom is within SW, West or NW, what else can be done? Nothing! Again, it is nice if the bedroom is a good sector, but no matter how, if the child were to sit facing his good direction; direct sunlight (assuming, hard to redress this) and other layout considerations that makes it impossible or ridiculous to place the table this way.. what else can we do?

1.In my opinion, the lowest common denominator is the five elements concept. 2. How easy to apply a model or concept. So long as the concepts and method are sound, it is based on how easily it can be properly understood and applied. 3. Ultimately, Shapes and Forms Feng Shui is in my opinion most critical. Feng Shui cannot live without Shapes and Forms, but may survive without Flying Star and it's variant. 4. Thus in my opinion, if the concepts or models are based on Flying star, even the distant cousin nine star key belongs to this school.

Finally; last Sunday morning at around 7am; finally "caught" this "uncle" again maintaining the altar at this coffee-shop in Hougang Green Shopping Centre. I now have a face to the hardworking "uncle"! For sure, he has a unique set of hair! Hmm reminds me of baby children who constantly sleeps on a pillow. That's why, most likely he shares the same traits; he could have rubbed part of his head against pillow; causing the "baldness" at certain areas!

Further to what I had mentioned; 1. House hunting report is just like one module out of the whole Holistic approach to Feng Shui. 2. For example, in accountancy; even accounting softwares have different modules for different needs; and these modules are specialised e.g. Accounts Receivable; Accounts Payable;Inventory, Summary Reports: P & L etc...
-
These are some considerations:- 1. The house hunting report is very specific and focuses only on the breadwinners best directions in-relation to two other factors: ba zi element and the bigger picture of the flying star frontage only and time dimensions: 1984 to 2003, 2004 to 2023 etc. 2. Usually for a west group person; there are naturally better homes or apartments that face other directions. This has been mentioned in the house hunting report(s). 3. The house hunting reportis useful if one is still at the house (apartment) hunting stage: comparing say apartment 1 with 2 or 3 or 4. 4. But if one is close to orat the "terminal stage"; no matter how; for whatever reasons;this tool is considered not as useful anymore. 5. Frankly, there is no perfect home or apartment. Even as a West group; NE sectors have varing intepretations based on different time periods. 5.1. But, it is always much better to get a home that is more suited to the person; and things like "brain or stomach illness" can be redressed especially if holistic approach to Feng Shui such as the Concept of maximizing overall marks in a home is one of the standard consideration. 5.2. Since there is no such thing as a perfect home, Fix-the-leak is also in the order of trying to maximize luck... 5.3. After this "terminal stage" or confirmed getting such aunit; then: if Feng Shui may / could / would be applied then other principles have to be further considered specifically:- * Feng Shui Triage * Fix-the-Leak, First! * Situational Approach(no two homes or apartment are identical) * The Concept of Maximizing Marks

Although the attached layout plans are very common for Singapore government board flats (HDB); When I first received a copy of one of them; at first glance, I thought they were the same! While, they are not exactly the same identical layout plan; as there are slight differences especially the entrance to the kitchen; but, overall, they are very similar in many ways! Can you see the differences? There are some who are concerned with the kitchen entrance visible to the main entrance door of the Bukit Panjang unit. By the way; both blocks/units TOP at thes ame time: one is in Bukit Panjang and the other at Ang Mo Kio.

Buy it because the smile of the Laughin buddha either makes one feel happy or helps in the comfort zone. Next, treat it like any other decorative piece one brings into the home. Yeap, this is a commercial item. Frankly, so long as it has a smile; stands upright, leans sideways, do yoga upside down etc... hey! Buy what you like. This is a free announcement: When the BUYING STOPS; the SELLING CAN!

1. Frankly, take this as "hear-say information. 2. Such Feng Shui concepts should be renegated into the trash-bin. 3. In essence; this type of Feng Shui is akin to Kindergarten type of Fung Sway. 4. If an overseas Chinese was forced to migrate from Communist China; came to the shores of Singapore in 1930's.. may be fully impressed by this statement. 5. Today, not anymore.. but rather "be prepared to be laughed at". P.S. My toes are partially laughing... still doing so... until now....

1. Frankly, there is no one model that fits All senarios. 2. In my opinion, both may have it's merits and demerits: as no two cases are identical; 3. Contrary to popular belief, many of the past great Feng Shui masters did not learn from a senior or if so, few got the privillege to do so. Thus, even in the past, this is how they do it:- How did all the Great Feng Shui Masters of the Past Learn & Practise their Feng Shui?4.One advantage of the mountain and water star is that it comes out with the#81 combinations and many other considerations. 5. Frankly, I have not looked at the book that you are referring to; but the water and time is already being practised; just that it may not be in that "flowerly language". 6. For example, under Shapes and Forms Feng Shui; majority of the time; even if the frontage may have the mountain star #8; no matter how, due to the Shapes and Forms concept; of "bright-hall" or clear space; distinctively the "water" stars are thus more important in this instance. 7. Even if we don't activate the water star, a bright area in-front of a premise is much better than a "mountain". 8. Commonsense says that between placing a water feature vs placing a rocky formation e.g. Guilin blocks of stone.. count how many buildings prefer rocks or water? 9. Thus, cow-sense says that most likely for every 10,000 water position placed... perhaps we may occasionally find a mountain activated. 10. Thus, water = flat space or bright hall is preferred. 11. If we were to choose the 20 Year Flying star vs timely stars, of course, on paper; timely stars are SUPPOSE to be better PROVIDED one is that FREE to activate it... that sort of thing. 12. There is therefore no right or wrong or this method is superior than that one. Again IT DEPENDS! 13. For a lay person, the more complicated the concept; the harder to follow and the higher chance of getting it wrong! The saying goes "ONE bird is better TWO in the BUSH" sort of thing.

Are you referring to the "Later Heaven Sequence Bagua? Where you said "After-Heaven"? Please check this link:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/art/art-pakua.htm Traditionally, "The First Heaven Sequence Mirror" should be used and not the "Later Heaven Sequence Mirror." In majority of all the Asian countries; so far, I have yet to come across a commercial "Later Heaven Sequence Mirror". Not sure about America or European, thou. Maybe some diabolically twisted soul would make a "Later Heaven Sequence Mirror" for sale. Yes, all mirrors should FACE-OUTwards. Thus, if possible it should be hung outside and hardly if any for someone to hang it indoors even thu it is facing outwards.... But as a Last Resort, if really can't then no choice liao.... Note: The term Pakua and Bagua are the same. Where Pakua is a Chinese dialect (Hokkien) way of pronouncing the politcally correct: Mandarin pin yin spelling of "Bagua".

These are some of the considerations: 1. Afternoon Sun In fact, usually if we were to look at a development few units or stacks were left; majority of these unsold units/stacks are affected by direct afternoon sunlight. Therefore, this is always one of the key criterias when selecting a home or apartment. In terms of Feng Shui; this is true and too much exposure also to afternoon sun (sun-light ... to .. heat soaking into the walls / coming into windows and even "sun-burn" ) are concerns. 2. Sha Qi or Poison Arrows In a development like this, where there so many different blocks and stacks facing different directions; there may be a likelyhood that a sharp corner of another neigbhouring block or stack COULD/ MAY be aimed towards one's dream apartment. Thus, it is best to TRY to avoid buying such a unit. Of course, it is not built yet so how? If possible try to study the neigbouring block and your "dream unit" and if there are more detailed block map, try to figure out as much as possible; whether or could the corner be sharp or aimed at a specific room of the unit one may be wanting to purchase. Of course, if later on it turns out that way, there is indeed a sharp corner aimed at the unit "window".. then.. 3. Such a development have various units/stacks facing many directions.. thus, check mainly the main breadwinner's best directions: East or West Group. 4. Also, the period we are in. Since we are now under Period 8; better apartments are often the SW / NE facing. South etc.. 5. Units facing main roads are often noisy. So is low units close to the dusbin area (smelly). Where is the power station; How does cars use the service road in and out of the basement carpark .. will affect low floor units facing this service road area... 6. Any external threats (if any) from neigbouring blocks etc.. etc...

These are further considerations: 1. Yes, in the long term, termites may be a concern. 2. For new developments; most (I say) most suppose to be responsible developers or their main contractor should have place those termite "canisters" into the soil. Usually, these are slow release ones and often can deter termites upto say 2 to 3 years (less those termities that may fly in or brought in by the subsidary proprietors. 3. As per the canal or pond etc.. either you have get professional services such as "Can or Cannot buy" or DIY for that matter....

Yes, you can but I wanted to open the window(s) to allow the high toilet moisture to evaporate away thru the windows. CAN I?

Go to all the newly opened shopping centres and we can see lots of impratical ways; architects work:- 1. When the Ang Mo Kio Hub opened several years ago; the way, vehicles move-in and out caused several unwanted accidents because of poor design. However, a redesign of the movement today, has solved the problem. 2. Many complaint about the NEX, Shopping hub. Yeap, drove there, went to the 90 degree turns; upto level 4 and I gave up, drove away.. 3. It is good that they are now re-engineering the Causeway point carpark. Previously a true bottle-neck: cars coming into the mall jostle with cars coming out jostle with the regular pedestrians trying to cross towards the Woodlands Civic Centre. 4. In 2012; when The Centris condo TOP (Boon Lay); one can literally look into all the toilets: take a look at the photo: the bath-tub; the toilet bowl (WC) and basic are in full view... from the common corridor.. Furthermore, if one were to open the windows; I am sure, the toilets are in full view of neigbhour's unit. 5. Of course, many would drape the windows with blinds or screens... but what if, one could still see-thru the CLEAR glass? Neighbours and visitors get a free show? 6. The Quartz at Compassvale; share the same concerns.. Just walk along the open areas and.... 7. Oh why use glass? During the construction of these buildings; Malaysia imposed a restriction on the sale of sand to Singapore.. thus, perhaps, it is more costly to build bricks and mortar homes vs all glass; I guess....

The Geomancer has already confessed that he can't be bothered to change his work directions YEARLY! The Geomancer also cited an example that many people themselves so long as they stay in a same home and occupy the same bedroom (room); majority don't change their study directions on a YEARLY basis! And the Geomancer has also stated that most likely, your Feng Shui has no staying power! Most likely in a YEAR's TIME your Feng Shui is like "GONE WITH THE WIND". Therefore, you are a FREE MAN OR WOMAN OR NEITHER; why suffer each YEAR to find which directions NOT TO sort of THING! SIAO!
-
How to pick out THEYEARLY PRACTITIONERS=SLAVES of Fung Sway: 1. These homo-sapiens are the ones that perhaps; have never heard of the word Fung Sway or had remotely heard of it a few years ago. 2. These homo-sapiens; suddenly, wake-up slap themselves and decided that just because the Jones change direction of their study or work YEARLY directions; these homoids decided to do the same. 3. These homoids or crazy homo-sapiens did not realise that after their interest wane; so their YEARLY urge to change their or so called friends directions will die outsome-time or later.. usually earlier... 4.I can understand if onesuddenly found that one mayperhaps be an East group person and try their best to make a "one-time" change to this good direction ONCE. THIS IS OK! 5. But to those homoids aka homo-sapiens thatTRY to changetheirstudy or work directions;YEARLY... bet you in 10 yeartime... you will be doing something else instead of following your so called YEARLY routine... In Hokkien we call these people "SIAO" (mad = crazy) and "SE BAY BO TAI CHI CHOW" (too bloodly free is it?)

Frankly, it is beyond this forum as there is very limited information to go on. It may be a coincidence and/or a contributing factor. In general, a spiral staircase is always not the best choice in a home: as if you have check pastmessages; somehow, it is not "friendly" to the flow of qi. In order to reduce the bad effects (if any) The Concept of Maximizing Marksis always a sound way of trying to reduce bad qi and to try to improve the "marks" for a home.
-
Some Feng Shui is always based on commonsense or "cowsense". == Extract of past forum posting == For example, on the statement of "building a wall at the back to prevent qi from escaping ". In a commonsense approach, if we look at this from a wider picture, this seems a very good point. Not so much of the view that 'qi could escape" but rather, - once in a while, sometimes we read of landslides. Sometimes, even the best homes build on a stable foundation uphill, could not stand the force of gravity. Especially an unfortunate very heavy downpour (perhaps of several days) plus a weaked reinforcement. == End == Unfortunately, in this recent case of Christchurch, New Zealand, something other than a heavy down-pour.. in this case an earthquake... and the force of gravity... can cause landslides.... Frankly, in my opinion, go for it! Not many people or only a few percentile of every cohort in a year are eligible for medicine! Within medicine there are lots of fields of specialisation! So being a weak metal person should not be a hurdle or a stumbling block! Therefore, go for it, please! If I have a son like him would be very proud!!!

Frankly, this is nothing new, here. Use the search feature on the TOP-LEFT frame of this forum for things like "Kitchen above bedroom" And you will not be alone in this kitchen above bedroom thing:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=5457&new= http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=19879&new= http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=17237&new= In fact, this message has some commonsense information like installing a smoke detector or best to install a proper fire panel or something like that:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=9848&new=
