For the benefit of users in this forum; this link shows a "collection" of Singapore Government built flats built by a statutory board called: Housing and Development Board or HDB. HDB-3 room flats are "slab or literally brick-type"; while the reference to "point-block" is the HDB-5 room flats. Majority of these flats are build in the early years by HDB. Flats range between 1960's to 1985 thereabouts:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=43&mid=25777&new= These HDB-3 room flats and 5 room flats are scattered all over many parts of mature HDB estates. Especially the HDB 5 room flats or point blocks; the majority are built between 1970's to 1980's.

These are some of the considerations:- 1. This may not be related: "Salt water cure". Just do a SEARCH under this forum and there are lots of resouces on "Salt water cure" such as these:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=7&mid=14743&new= http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=27242&new= http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=3&mid=24740&new= 2. In the above link; a salt water cure must have these three ingredients: 2.1 amount of salt +copper coins + water 2.2Some leave the lid open but in a well ventilated place. Other geomancers (but rare) sayscan place this thing in a coveredlid. 3. It is the chemical reaction especially with the sulfuric acid + copper coins (water as a medium) to create negative ions. 4. In your example? without the coins? ERH..... most likely still can help to prevent some "disease". Like what? Salt water does not go well with mosquitoes. Thus, one benefit maybe is prevent dengue ? 4.1 Otherwise, do us a favour; check with whoever comes up withit to explain. And erh.. let us know....

Often we are enticed to purchase rubbish in the name of "Feng Shui products". It is like stacking a ship full of useless products. And if we don't fix the major leaks; just imagine; this ship can sink even faster!!!

Ancient Chinese Toilets are literally a Walk Away from the house 1. In ancient times, the toilet facililty can be found outside of the home. 2. If you are one of those who has a phobia for a toilet at home; take a cue from some cases where the entire family use their condominium toilet for their daily business! 3. Hokkien saying " SIAO AH" (literally means) = Are You MAD???????
-
Dear Mr Tay, The Developer has listened to your advice! And they have come up with a PR plan. And the first thing they will do is; they will give this condo a distinctive LOGO that is the talk of the town. No prize or reward! BUT, you will know; you have done a service to the development and the subsidiary proprietors who will soon occupy or it this place "their THRONE".
-
1. The developer uses this same layout plan for his entire project in a Singapore "estate". 2. Again, same story: toilet at the frontage. And the toilet bowl shares an "external wall". 3. Hopefully, again, the toilet plumbing is not above the "critical" living room areas such as the sofa seat area.
-
1. Again, this is a different layout plan. But as the master bedroom cum master toilet is at the frontage; look at the attachment. The entire toilet is above the main entrance area. BUT, the good news again is that the toilet bowl (with it's sewerage pipe) is sharing an "external wall". 2. In addition, so long as the 2nd floor piping e.g. the drainage cum sewerage piping is not above the main door; this is the best we can hope for;
-
Again, this is another typical layout plan where the toilet AREA is somewhere close to the main entrance area. However, the more important consideration is: "where is the sewerage pipe". In this example; although the toilet is above the main entrance; but the good news is that the toilet bowl is sharing against "an external" wall and never directly above the main entrance. Thus, this is a better layout.
-
1. Thanks for the illustration. 2. Although it is nice-not-to have such a senario; but from my personal experience; around at least 30 percent of landed properties share the same situation as yours. 3. The only difference is where the actual sewerage pipe is. 4. In fact, in my opinion; amongst such a situation as your layout; yours is still one of the better ones. As from your layout plan(s): more importantly it does not show that the sewerage pipe can be or could be directly above the main door. 5. Thus, in simple terms; if it is not directly above the main door or just imagine; not along the line where we often walk into the home; this is a good situation. 6. Please see attached illustrations 1, 2 and 3. This type of layout plan also shows: the toilet at the front of the home area. In this example; the toilet pipes are directly above the wall where the proposed TV entertainment area is. 7. Thus, it is still preferred that the layout of the living room is as shown under Illustration 3. Should the sewerage leak from the pipe above the TV console; unfortunately, it may short the TV and other equipment. This is a catch 22 situation. I would rather not get spluttered with sewerage if the sofa happens to be at this area. It is either this or that .. one's choice!

1. Please note that if you want to ask questions based on "time dimension" in Feng Shui; then the closest concept is that of the Flying Star Feng Shui. 2. Here, if you know or at least read about the concept; you still have to draw up a Flying Star chart SPECIFIC to that home or office you are referring to. 3. Only after doing so, then you can plot in your yearly flying star chart. 4. Thus, your question is like those G.I.G.O. If not sure what is G.I.G.O. please make an effort to search for this term in this forum's top-left frame. 5. In addition, I really wonder, are you seriously in checking out your toilet yearly. If so, might as well, frankly, shut the toilet down permanently. Then, there is no concern with it. Just ignore, my recent posting: U stay there We don't. Here, even if I don't stay there, it does not matter to me.

1. In an off-site Feng Shui audit; where the block of flat is elongated or may have several stacks that face different directions; 2. With the help or assistance of the owner (or to be new owner); be it a new or resale flat; identify which is the correct orientation of the layout plan to the siteplan. 3. In this example, the attached illustration was prepared. And the owner is asked to check which orientation is correct. And if possible, he/she could outline the unit onto the siteplan. (Not a must do, thou).

1 Considering the various forms of luck; ba zi is only 1/3 out of the Holy Trinity of luck. 2. Where ba zi is only about born with; and itis just a snapshot of when we were born. There are several escape clauses to it: education, influence from family, friends etc.. 3. For the home, it is still very riskly to consider just onhomes with earth directions, as there are many many more influences on a home.

Although your question(s) is one paragraph long; in order to get the answers in detail; just imagine a duck swimming on a lake. Although the duck is seen swimming gracefully on water, but many are not aware of the tremendous effort the duck has to paddle vigorously with their web feet. Same goes, here.

1. Frankly, even amongst (us) geomancer's; many of us cannot even agree on the issue of the facing direction. 2. But the main concensus is that the facing direction can be the door, the facaade of the building, the stack BUT However, it should be the place where it has the most yang qi. 3. Usually if it is an existing home, there should be some "history". If so, several flying charts could be created and analysed. 4. An experienced geomancer, would normally analyse the habit(s) of their client; e.g. always close or open their main door, windows fully or partially opened or closed all the time. The activity area such as the living room etc.... 5. Therefore, it is wishfull thinking, if one wats an immediate answer. 6. It is considered nice-to not a must have for e.g. facing a good sector and or say main door within a good sector etc.... 7. For apartment number report for ground floor enter O.

I always keep in mind this phase "You stay there (YOUR HOME); We (Geomancers) don't!" Just imagine, someone coming to your home; and provide the "weirdest" advice like: don't use your master toilet! Completely shut it down.. sort of thing! Is this for real? The Geomancer will happily go off with your fees and if you do listen to such advice; saddled with the inconvenience and "issue" for the rest of your life whilst living in that home!

1. Please see attachment. 2. As the layout plan can distinctively be split roughly 50:50; 3. Thus, the center of gravity and/or centerpoint should still be along the RED line. (OR close to it) or should not differ too much from that zone. The only thing is that it depends on how much of the balcony area one takes into consideration: to add or not to add it to say the "cut-out".

Further to what I had mentioned, based on the Holy Trinity of Luck:- 1. In fact, many are not born with a silver spoon. (via ba zi or Heaven Luck). 2. The thought of having not so good Feng Shui (earth luck) sometimes; this area combined with Para 1; can lead to auto-suggestion, self-fullfilling prophecy. As well as make us feel not so good. 3. Thus, another very important "tool" is Human or Man luck. For example, some people, don't have good heaven luck nor good Feng Shui luck; but they are very contented with having a good family relationship, bonding etc.. 4. Human or man luck should never be discounted; thus so long as both of you "feel good" or nice feeling; then it beats whether the center point or center of gravity is as written, in this book or that forum. 5. Unfortnately, some shower their homes with useless products in the name of Feng Shui. But, hey! Again, if one feels good about spending money on some useless products; well go ahead! It is all about Human or man luck. (Plus, those sellers equally share the happiness with people. People become happy or feel happy perhaps with less money; while the sellers feel happy because they made huge profits 6. Morale of the story is: "in fact, sometimes; it is even better to be ignorant about such things than to bang one's head or try to find some other explanation: to side-track the issue". Again, the result is based on "Garbage-in Garbage-out" G.I.G.O. sort of thing. 7. In addition; the importance of "You stay, there or going to stay there" vs us geomancers who if present, sometimes spent only 1 or 2 hours or slightly more at a home. And it is ridiculous to ask you guys not to use toilet A and/or toilet B! Those who provide such fantastic advice, should either plug their waste system with bottle corks or use cable tie. As mentioned; even Eunuchs need to go to the toilet. 8. Frankly, the curse of the internet is: Info overload; fast food feng shui and the saying a little knowledge is a dangerous kinda of thingy!

A. Please check out the link or many past messages or even my past resources on this subject, below:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=28248&new= or do a search for either center of gravity or centre of gravity. The message in the above link says it all:- 1. The significance of missing corner or protusion can be found here:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-building.htm 2. Please refer to attachment: Illustration 1. 2.1 Usually, I use the "eye-ball" method to determine the "largest" WHOLE rectangle. This is a quick method to ROUGHLY determine the centrepoint or center-of-gravity of the apartment. 2.2 NOTE: Please note that the protusion in YELLOW under Illustration 1 is NOT correct. As mentioned above, it is just a rough guide. 2.3 In fact, I don't draw out such an illustration. But for the purpose of learning in this forum; I did this quick sketch. 3. After mentally knowing where is the ROUGH centerpoint or center-of-gravity, I will start to plot a more accurate outline to determine a more accurate centrepoint (all using the "eye-ball" method). 4. When I roughly get the area of the SUM of Missing corners roughly equal to the SUM of protusions; see attachment: Illustration 2; then I will feel confident that I am pretty close to getting the centrepoing correct. 5. For those of you, you can also: copy a layout plan; paste it on a cardboard. Cut-out the outline and balance it on a nail. The place where the nail balances the entire layout plan should be the centre of gravity. However, as I mentioned, I am using the "eye-ball" method. 6. Therefore, based on a quick determination: refer to Illustration 2, yes the toilet (close to the basin) is at the centerpoint. ==== END OF CUT-PASTE======== B. The term "garbage-in-garbage out" still applies to BOTH the above ROUGH determination via eye-ball method or the cut-out. C. Why? C1. What makes this layout plan unique is that the area of missing corner can never be equal to the area of protusion. C2. Thus, just imagine you cut-out the entire area including say the PROTUSION. If so, of course, you will be very happy or elated to find that the center of gravity is not at the toilet area. C3. Anyway, one good news is that even with the "eye-ball" method I had mentioned, your centerpoint (not necessarily) the center of gravity is actually on a wall dividing between your toilet and your corridor area. C4. When it comes to psychology; if it makes both of you elated or happy to discover your centre of gravity is not at the main entrance then, it is fine. D. Here the "eye ball" method as mentioned in the above previous forum message clearly state that it is ROUGH method. D1. And usually, it can be very accurate if say the area of missing corner roughly equals to the area of protusion. D2. What you are using is to find the center-of-gravity. Although both it and centerpoint seems similar; usually it should be close-by. Unless it depends on how one cut-out the layout plan. Here, I am sure you added the non-living space i.e. the protusion aka the balcony area. It is subjective. But, hey, you can rejoice, now.

These are some of the considerations. 1. See attachment: Yes, BOTH toilets are considered as within (boundary) of the TWO toilets (Upper and Lower). 2. Luck normally depends on:- 2.1. How suitable the home is to breadwinner. 2.2. External Shapes and Forms 2.3. Flying Star Facing directions: 2.3.1 Better facing directions in GENERAL are NE, SW and South. 2.3.2 Especially for next year: depending on the consideration of the facing direction; one of the nastiest facing directions NEXT year is EAST. North ain't that pretty either.. 3. The concept of "You stay there we (geomancers) don't". 3.1. Frankly, it is so easy to write a few lines and "command you" not to use your toilets! But, don't be foolish like many people who were told that they must never use their toilet! 3.2. Look at it this way, how many homes have their toilet outside of their community? 3.3. Even a EUNCH needs to pass motion and water! 4. Isn't it crazy to say DON'T use that (British term: BLOODY) toilet, please! 5. Usually in order to have major issues; a home often has more than 3 or more "leaks". Thus both toilets can be considered as ONE leak. Fix-the-Leak, First! 6. No use in banging one's head pointlessly against the wall. The more sensible approach??? The Concept of Maximizing Marks 7. Many apartments do have a toilet (or toilets) at the centrepoint. As mentioned above, other factors include what was mentioned under Para 2. above.

These are some of the considerations:- 1. What you mentioned is pretty subjective. 2. As you had mentioned, in the Chinese culture; our elders does have a large influence on our "lives" and customs. Thus, if your parents felt that it is not right; who is to tell them otherwise? 3. However, in modern times; we are marrying someone whom we fell in love and as you had mentioned, "some unforeseen circumstances". Since you did not mention what is the circumstances; and looks like there is no other alternatives; then given such a situation; traditionals are not etiched into stone sort of thing. I am sure even tradtional(s) can be flexible given such circumstances, rite? 4. In reality; what you are facing "your future house and bride house is the same"; is in my opinion; you are not the only Chinese couple that will "been" there; sort of thing. There are many before you facing such a situation. 5. Furthermore, I am sure, that some day; you will get your own home. It would be a pity if say a wedding be postphoned because of this one "tradition": what is considered worse-off? In my opinion, it is worst off to postphone the customary wedding if everything has been decided upon. 6. Alternatively; in this modern times; where international marriages are plentiful; your parents may again not agree; but some have held the "tea ceremony" at a hotel; as some brides are not even local ones or even if local; they prefer this to be held say at a "grand" hotel of sorts. 7. As mentioned, you are marrying her; and no "tradition" should be a barrier! 8. If you have posted this to a Singapore government site; I believe they would say: " to heck with tradition! " We need you to get married (like yesterday) and make lots of babies! We (Singapore) are very desperate for rejunivation via? new-borns; please!
