  1. These are some of the considerations:- 1. Based on Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, your bed layout is in-line with the shape of the interior in relation to the walls, bed-head area; windows and main door. Thus this is generally a good layout plan. 2. At 5th storeys high there is no major concern of sha qi from the physical point of view. At ground floor; the concern has more to do with "wandering vehicles" i.e. vehicles that could "slam" into the buidling e.g. road accident or high speed out of control vehicles. 3. Thus, strictly from the Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, a gentle curved window seems "majestic" and makes the entire home bright from both sides i.e. large facing direction. 4. As for a wind chime; if there is no street lamp that slice into or thru the window, no issue from Shapes and Forms view. Since we are not into Flying Star Feng Shui; can't confirm whether a wind chime should be used at that sector or area.
  2. 1. You have to ascertain what is your ba zi element and strength. The free link can confirm whether you are a strong or weak metal person. http://www.geomancy.net/reports/reports-list/perlist-personal-element.htm 2. In the attached, sample report: Sample Male Ba Zi Summary.pdf ; at the bottom of Page 2 of 11; there is a breakdown of this sample person's Five Elements: 2.1 For example this sample person has: Weak Water = 0 percent; Strong Wood 29 percent; Strong Fire = 47 percent; Extremely weak earth = 11 percent; Weakest metal = 11 percent. Usually, for many Chinese, when they are born, their parents or grand parents may have consulted a geomancer on a name to balance this person's either lack of or weak elements. 2.2. However, some Geomancers, use this information as the basis of figuring out whether a person should go into this or that career. 3. However, this is not the most popular method. As I had mentioned, usually, this areashould have been traditionally consideredwhen namingthe person. 4. Under the traditional Ba zi element; in your case; you may either be a weak or strong metal person; depending on things like House of Lifeas one of the fields of the ba zi. 5. IN GENERAL for a STRONG METAL PERSON:= The career/business ie. a Job/Business favourable for a STRONG METAL personare:- Favourable Water - Advertising, Arts, Communications, etc Fire - Marketing, Sales, Fashion, etc Wood - Engineering, Filming, Hospital, etc Unfavourable Earth - Customer Relations, Constructions, Games, etc Metal - Accountancy, Banking, Investment, etc Here is a reference link to the different five element and careers/business:- URL: http://talk.geomancy.net

  4. Yes! "The love of money is the root of all evil" Look at me! My owner : The Feng Shui Emporium chopped off one of my legs. And pushed me to be sold as the famous "The Three-Legged Toad!". The love of money has led my boss to do evil things. This is a better expression than "Money is the root of all evil". When the buying, STOPS!; the selling CAN!
  5. Nowadays, more and more cars are installed with LED lights. Even for the home, the energy saving or around 0.01 watt LED lights are becoming more popular or widely displayed with many varieties to choose from. Nowadays, the number of led diode per light buld has also increased. By the way (BTW), these photos were taken from Home Fix, Singapore.
  6. Further to what I had mentioned, thereare some other considerations:- 1. In theory, certain elements can be used to either enhance or neutralise a sector. 2. For inauspicious sector(s); the "ideal academic" cure is to completely neutralise the bad or bad elements # in a specific sector. 3. While in some instances, we can not only neutralise but enhance that sector or again the key is the balance in a sector. 4. The rationale why, I don't really want to go thru each and every detail of such postings.. for example, you had written down certain assumptions; there is really no end to the number of configurations be it thru the productive or destructive cycle. 5. In real life situation; some cures are better than others : and many Geomancers have to consider this. For example: a "cure" for a bedroom is different from a cure for a balcony or living room or even a toilet in a premise i.e. one can't just hang a wind chime in a bedroom. 6. For almost every sector that is out of balance; there are often at least two different "cures" or ways to neutralisea sector. Often, in the past, received a question of why does this Geomancer use this cure. While another use a different cure. This is thanks to the flexibility originating from the productive and destructive cycle. 7. Another consideration is the flow of qi. Many real world Geomancers: real people, real homes : have to study the qi flow in any of their clients home or bedroom and especially where are the openings in a bedroom; the type of windows e.g. sliding glass or casement type; where is the room door, where are spots where there are dead qi. 8. Thus in my opinion, one can draw or in theory, write up a so called "perfect" prescription to a bedroom ; for example what you had written about #2 ... this...etc... and in this real world.... it may not work! 9. Furthermore, in this day and age; applying and practising Feng Shui can be different from say in the 1960's to 1980's. For example, thanks to the internet; sites like this don't need to ever advertise; word or mouth or from the spew of tons of resources.. 10. Today, we Geomancers are serving more clients than anyone in the 1960's or 1980's can dream off. Best is that we don't just serve people in a small area i.e. own country but literally get to travel to all continents and for those who can't fly us there; use modern links like sms, e-mails and web portals.
  7. These are some considerations:- 1. This has nothing to do with Feng Shui: often many Chinese were told to place a PAIR of mandarin ducks. 2. Since your photo has to do with a PAIR of birds; although this is non-traditional Chinese thing; and the entire photo / picture with the background seems OK - no major symbolic concern; in my opinion, it is fine. Perhaps... you can just read up to this line and ignore anything written below this line -------------------------------------------------------------- Fortunately, these two birds does not look like they are kept in a cage. As some felt that keeping birds in a cage is like "imprisonment" ie. no freedom at all. Anyway, good thing is that this picture of the birds don't look caged
  8. 1. The "proper" placement of air-conditioner unit (fan unit) has to be both practical; functional and purely "Commonsense or Cow-sense" type of thing. 2. These are some considerations for the placement of the air-con unit(fan unit):- 2.1. First determine if you do intend to install a fixed wardrope or not? 2.2. If one intends to install a fixed wardrope; then remember when the piping for the air-con is laid or installed; it should never be later covered up by the wardrope. Else, if there is a leak or clog pipe or for whatever reason; the pipes hidden deep in the recess of the fixed wardrope or cabinet -- such a wardrope has to be dismantled and maybe placed back again. 2.3. In many apartments: condominiums and Housing Board flats; a specific ledge has been allocated for the external compressor unit. Thus, one of the pipes running towards the air-con (fan unit) : should not be running too lengthy. 2.4. Where is the toilet? 2.4.1 For Government Housing Development Board flats; the location of the toilet is important consideration for placing the air-conunit (vents). 2.4.2 It is best that the route to the toilet is as simple and shortest possible. Why? 2.4.3 While the condensor pipe can move up and down as many times as one wants to reach the air con-con (fan coil unit) the DRAINAGE pipe to the toilet can only run ONCE from a high position to the floor of the toilet. 2.4.4. Just imagine, when water drips from the air-con (fan coil unit); it flows much like water from a high point to a low point. You cannot just have several ups and downs - for such a pipe. 3. Many condos have air-con (fan coil units) above especially the bedroom door: this kills two birds with one stone: i.e. an air-con above the bedroom door means often that nothing is below it to cause problem. 3.1. For example; imagine if an air-con (fan coil) is just above a fixed flat screen tv set. And should the air-con (fan coil) unit spill water or condensation; more often; the water may drip into the top air-circulation holes of the tv sent and even other electrical items causing short-circuit. Even if a tv set comes under an extended warranty; it does not cover water spillage. 3.2. With an aircon above say the various bedroom doors; in a condo; the developer simply create a false ceiling along the passageway to hide the trunking of the air-con. And furthermore, this is often the easiest way to distribute the air-con gase pipes and even the drainge all at once from this central area. 3.2. Many condo units are guilty of an air-con (fan coil) vent above their toilet door. This is not "perfect". As often, when coid air sinks; many of the condo toilet doors are wooden swing in type of door, with a gap below the door. When cold air sinks down, it often pushes into the toilet creating "high pressure" and when one opens the toilet door; all the "toilet qi" flows out from the toilet. 4. Commonsense or cowsense dictate that the air-con (fan coil) unit should not be directly above our bed-head. As often around 1 to 3 am; the cold air sinks directly against our face; and too much cold can give us "rosy chick" but also dyrness in our throat etc... 5. Often another commonsense best practise is that the air-con (fan coil) unit does not BLOW directly towards our face or body. Thus some feel that it is best to blow from the side or furthest away from our bed if this is possible. 6. For air-con (fan coils) in the living cum dining room again; the air-con (fan coil) units often "punch: thru from the other side of the wall again; the shortest short cut to the compressor and visually if possible, the ugly pipes can be hidden is the best practise. 7. There are more; but for now, I have written off the cuff like a short essay on this topic. 8. All the above are commonsense!
  9. 1. Yes, I am not going to go thru your workings. 2. As mentioned, previously; now some of us understand that what we learn even in Primary School is relevant or can be applied to real life: The Lowest Common Denominator or commonly known as L.C.M. 3. There are several ways of looking at either the use of The Productive cycle and/or the Destructive cycle. One of them is thru an individual and his bazi. 4. The best way to view whether the productive cycle or destructive cycle is good can be drawn from the Ba zi of an individual. 4.1. For example: If a person is considered as a Strong Metal Person, and based on the Five Elements Concept: 4.1.1. His Career with wealth is wood. As metal destroys wood to create wealth. 4.1.2. While his career with power and authority is also based on the destructive cycle e.g. Fire destroys metal to create wealth. 4.1.3. While his career that does not lead to great wealth or power is the water element. Thus, for an individual; who does notyearnto be very competitive or either very money minded may choose the middle ground or not go into business. Thistypeof career is like in the past; in a communist country where, you report to work in a factory, do your job, get your remuneration, go home - suchas a mundane career. 5. In the above example; one can see that under Para 4.1.1 and 4.1.2; "exciting" or "rewarding" careers (other than perhaps to some is challenge to others they strive on stress) these two careers fall within the "destructive" cycle. 6. Like the saying goes; without FIRE, one cannot melt or refine metals such as : gold; platinium and even rare elements. 7. Academically, I have many thoughts on this and other examples; but this is only pure academic and I am too busy with real life situations to continue, adding more boring academic talk on this subject. 8. As I had mentioned previously, the key success factor is simply : the Mastery of Five Elements Concept (full stop) as it is the basis of or the L.C.M. mother or father of all analytical wisdom!
  10. These are some of the considerations:- 1. Previously, I had touched on the topic "Lowest Common Denominator": The Five elements concept and Flying Star Feng Shui and even Bazi uses the LCM in relation to the Five elements concept. 2. Do a search under this forum on "Lowest Common Denominator or LCM". 3. Flying Star numbers are able to be identified as strong or weak. For example #7 = weak metal ; while #6 = strong metal. And the LCM is The Five Elements concept. 4. The Five elements concept has two key models: The Productive and The Destructive(or Wealth/Power Authoritycreation) model. 5. Since you are so interested in this area; the key essence or success factor is simply : the Mastery of the Lowest common denominator: THE FIVE ELEMENTS CONCEPT. 6. And the wonderful thing about this concept that usually there are a few alternatives to the interaction of two or more elements under the five elements. 7. Often, or even a few months ago; someone attach some advice given on site A ; and another advice from site B which is different from site A and/or B. And to this person; two and two does not seem correct. As there are many roads that lead to ROME; there are so many ways to go about applying an element or elements. 8. By the Way (BTW); what you had written would make more sense if each element can be futher fine tuned to either: being strong or weak. For example, there is a vast diference between say strong earth and weak earth. Thus I feel, this is crucial, yet.. it is not there in your writing in this thread.
  11. Further to what I had mentioned:- You can also read more on the Air-conditioner(Placement). The resources on this thread is added behind this url link to service as additional reading material.
  12. These are some of the considerations: 1. If the altar is at location Marked B; then check if it is feasible or not to move the single bed futher away. But do avoid placing it as shown in the illustration if a stove is on the opposite wall of the bed-head. 2. There is no issue even if there is a wardrope sharing the same wall with the altar marked B. 3. Between altar at Marking A or B; altar at B is a better choice than A. 4. Usually I believe you may be placing your TV / hifi console along marking C. As a last resort; the altar may be placed along marking C so long as it is a distance away from say a tv or hifi set. For example, it could be placed at the corner along Marking C closer to the window area.
  13. I am trying to grow wealth for my home! However, or unfortunately, for some homes where either exceptional wealth luck is trapped somewhere or it has bad facing direction littered with lots of inauspicious stars in many sectors of the home... no matter how one tries to squeeze luck from such homes... it is like an uphill task. Or it is like even before going to a Casio; we are already handicapped by the Banker's "luck" or mathematics of luck weighted towards the Banker...
  14. I certainly lack metal element; but frankly, this is not the metal tied to my legs that I lack. In fact, can you unchain me?
  15. Can someone help us to break the spell of bad luck on our family?
  16. This is an interesting useful case study. (No names mentioned.) CASE STUDY: In essence, the question is about "Can I manipulate the Flying Star Chart of this home for the best facing direction of the main door?" Thus: What is the purpose of the 15 directions if it so easily be manipulated much like "window dressing" to make ourselves feel good but in reality.. it is not so? QUESTION: I would like to have further clarifications before generating the flying star house report for this person. In fact, both East and North facing direction of the main door of the house that this person stay in, happen to fall under the 4 bad directions according to the person's bazi analysis. West is considered as "Excellent' direction, but this is the back door, which is not practical for daily use? The East facing direction(which is also the house facing direction) happen to be 3-piece glass sliding doors with iron grill, and the north facing door has been utilised as the main entrance/exit. According to the Bazi analysis of this person, he is having first 60 years of inauspicious years, only by the age of 63, that he starts to have 'Luck with him' years. It will be helpful, if you would let me know the best facing direction of the main door to tabulate his flying star house report. Thank you. MY COMMENTS: 1. The purpose or key success factor of the flying star application is to determine where is the most yang qi ina home. And from here, map out the flying star Feng Shui. 2. Thus if the correct facing direction is not properly USED; it is not like one should fit his Eight House and find a main door based on this. For eg. even for those who try to change their main door or tilt their main door; it is only temporay. As ultimately, the qi or the Flying star qi will often revert back to e.g. the facing of the stack.
  17. 1. This water feature was taken sometime in the 1950's. It is 60 donkey years ago! 2. Can you see the miniature hexagonal pavilion? Such Chinese pavilions are very popular in the past: and comes in all shapes e.g. circle; square; hexagonal and octagonal pavilions. 3. Today, such water feature cum landscaping is close to obsolete unless it is a purposeful theme park type of structure. 4. Although such pavilions ting can be found in temples; these pavilions are equaly and not exclusive to temples or religious places. As such structures can be found in Chinese theme parks and gardens - to provide shade and shelter. 5. On the right side of the photo is the Yellow Cane palm plant. Very hardy and popular in this part of the world. We call it a low maintenance or even no maintenance plant!
  18. 1. Singapore, like Israel; males have to serve National Service. 2. This photo was taken when I was doing Reservist Training @25 years old (having completed 2 1/2 years of National Service a few years ago). 3. I am highlighted in Yellow. SGT Lee Han Tiong 4. A prominent Singapore (highlighted in CYAN: Koh Boon Hwee (at that time was at Hewlett-Packard , Singapore. Currently, the Chairman of DBS and other postions. Reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koh_Boon_Hwee 5. Note: School of MP Management stands for School of Manpower Management. I believe, may no longer be around. 6. Those of us who are CPL to SGT rank are all reservists. While those with higher ranks are all "signed" on soldiers. 7. Majority of us; including myself is wearing the No. 4 uniform and at that time; the green tetron material. In the picture; some are wearing the heavier cotton material. One person wearing the camoflage uniform is of cotton material. 8. I completed my 2 1/2 years of national service in June 1980. And imagine.. was called up for Reservist (training) course the next month! In July 1980. The course was close to a month! After that; was posted to a reservist unit as a Chief Clerk (much like Human Resource management of reservists). 9. The logo for my service formation: Manpower has a traditional feather pen in it's logo with the background of a bayonet. This implies that for those in my field of speciality; we were suppose to fight a war with our PEN! Hahahaha.... This is for real! Just look at the third photo / picture!
  19. 1. Graphic illustration of best working direction based on the Eight House can be found under this url link:- http://www.geomancy.net/reports/reports-list/perlist-workposition.htm However, this Eight House or Gua 1 (thing) is considere NICE-to have and not a MUST-have. Anonymous wrote: HI , I am seated at the NW corner of my office , i am facing the window and my back is directly facing the door . 2. Your above statement is a concern under Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. 3. Between Para 1; Eight House and Para 2; Shapes and Forms prevail over the Eight House concept. Here, under Shapes and Forms Feng Shui; it is not favourable to seat with your back directly facing the door.
  20. 1. This photo was sent by Chinese relatives that had migrated to Indonesia. 2. The photo dates to around 1963. Most likely, family gathering was on a Tomb Sweeping Day. 3. During that time, Indonesia feared communists and all Chinese are not allowed to have "Chinese Names". All Chinese have "Indonesian names, instead". 4. From the picture, even the traditional style of Horse-shoe protective design and elaborate Chinese carvings were not allowed for a tomb site. The only thing allowed was the carving on the tablet in Mandarin words. 5. This was the "penalty" for migrating to Indonesia. As a Chinese, you cannot be a "real Chinese" nor have elaborate Chinese festivities. 6. The writing on the attachment is in Malay language. 7. NO CHOICE, THIS WAS INDONESIA, WHICH FEARED CHINESE COMMUNISM. THUS COMPARE THIS RECTANGULAR DESIGN OF THE TOMB WITH MY GRAND PA'S TYPE OF ELABORATE DESIGN; FRANKLY, IT WOULD NOT GET A CHINESE CUSTOM "PASS MARK'.
  21. 1. These pictures were taken someting around 1963 still within the mourning period for my grandfather. 2. The grave site was located in Tampines, Singapore. 3. Family members gather around April 5 of the Gregorian calendar at my grandfather'stomb. This day is known as the Tomb Sweeping Day which also concides with the Clear Bright Festival. 4. If you are wondering; only family members who were still in mouring had to tag squarish pieces of cloth / colour and layers depending on the relationship with the deceased. Such cloth tags are worn on the left sleeve. 5. Can you spot those wearing such tags. Don't be surprised as somein the photos are not family members or immediate family members so they don't need to wearsuch tags.
  22. 1. This ffountain has the fish spouting out water 2. You can't find this fountain anymore as this photo was taken around the 1950's. 3. Some scenes of Taiwan in the 1950's. During that time, China was "out-of-bounds". (My family: LEE FAMILYarchive of photos)
  23. 1. The free report shows both your element and strength and also you should have taken note of what elements favour strong water person. 2. For example: strong water person favours: Wood element, Fire element and Earth element. 3. In general; once you know which are considered your favourable elements: For a strong water person:- Your career with wealth has to do with Fire element. Your career with power and authority (e.g. high postion) is Earth element. I am sure, you can go do some homework:- http://talk.geomancy.net The above link will show what careers belong to the fire element and earth element etc....
  24. Apologies for the confusion. Yes, thanks for pointing out my typo error. It should correctly be : any odd numbers is Yang : 1,3, 5, 7. Thus I was too quick to type wrongly. Sorry for the confusion. Yin stars are even numbers: which should be 2, 4, 6, 8 etc... Cecil L. wrote: 5. Another type of Yin has to do with Flying Star numbers. For example Flying star numbers 1, 3, 5, 7 are yin stars and a high concentration of such stars on it's own is no issue. But if coupled by too yina sector or
