  1. 1. This is a healthy "fast food" meal. 2. The fillings used is the same used for making the "popiah". 3. Pictures show the "cup" holding the fillings. The pictures shows the "Kueh pai-ti".Usually the Kueh Pai-Ti is garnished with prawns and more.. but the picture shows it isgarnished only with chilli.
  2. 1. Please note that one should not be confused with:- 1.1. Tai Sui or Grand Duke of Jupiter 1.2. The Three Killings 1.3. The Five Yellow 2. What are common with all three? They are looked at in terms of the Annual Stars. (Yearly). 3. There are alot of information on them, thus I am not going to elaborate on each item. 4. Not sure, why this year, many users seems to have the WRONG idea such as your question: "Is it okay to face the East in 2009?" 5. Just recently, I had clarified that only the Tai Sui or Grand Duke, is there a link between facing or not facing.... Otherwise, where in the world do both of you (the other recent forum message) say about facing the Three killings or facing the Five yellow? 6. "facing the Three killings or facing the Five yellow?" Please discard this two rubbish ideas, please! 7. You mentioned: "Are there any cures to suppress three killings?" You might as well ask this question: " Is there a cure for AIDs or CANCER?" Gosh! 8. The simple idea is : Not to do any renovation works in the three killings and/or the five yellow area (that's all) FULL STOP! 9. Again don't get the silly idea that "don't distrub" means:- Cannot turn on TV, cannot walk into the bedroom, cannot do this and that.? Quote: Amanda Y. wrote: Hello Master Lee, For 2009, the three killings is located in the East. What is the cure for that? Is it okay to face the East in 2009? What if the bedroom is located in the East? Are there any cures to suppress three killings? Please advice. Thanks.
  3. 1. Frankly, cleansing varies with different cultures. And races. 2. In the Far East, most people who consider themselves down with luck, often "flower bathe" themselves instead of cleansing the home:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=16295&new= 3. Again, the above "cleansing ritual" may not appeal to people outside of the Far East. 4. In the Far East (especially Singapore, Malaysia, Borneo, Sarawak and Thailand), "cleansing" a home means that the home is "dirty" (some felt that some evil entity stays) in the home. 5. However, I believe, you meant that your house is "clean" but you are purely out of luck, that's all.
  4. Quote: Do you still recommend living in this bedroom? It seems all the bad stars are in this bedroom. Would appreciate your help. Thanks in advance. 1. This question reminds me of the concept " We stay here, you don't". "We" meaning the owners and family members of a home. And "You"often meaning the person who gives the advice". 2. For those practising Feng Shui whether professionally or non-professionally, should give advice based on as much facts as possible. 3. For example, in the above, what happens if this is your onlyw bedroom or no matter how, a family member have to occupy this bedroom. Otherwise, end up sleeping in the living room couch or bath-tub. 4. For everyone giving such an advice, it is so, so simple to say "Yes, you must never, never sleep in this bedroom. As mentioned under para 2, not all facts are known, here. Someone can give a 5 minute advise and then you have to follow for "life?" 5. Based on your information, luckily there is a base #6(which represents) big metal. Thus, although may not be enough to"destroy" #5 plus #2, this is already a good start. 6. I amgoing to go thru all the various cures, as there are already many examples and documented cures for #5 and or #2. 7. In addition, time dimension is also to be considered. 7.1 In general, under 2009, theannual Flying Star at East is star #7 (weak metal). Whichagain is metal, not the best "metal element" but better than say annual #9 or #5 or #2 within the sector. If you really want justmonitor the monthly #5 and #2 when it flies to that room thisyear.
  5. 1. Please note that some sectors may be considered protusions and may not be missing corners depending on how one interprets more "complex" layout plans. 2. Usually, for a very important missing corner e.g. such as missing corner at NW (male breadwinner), one of the most common methods is the use of a "plain" concave mirror (as shown) in this url link below:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=19&mid=10393&new= 3. Usually, mirrors inside the home is used to extend the look of the interior (making it look bigger). Thus not all walls is suitable for the mirror. Another common area of placing a mirror is next to the dining table. It would be good if the outside of the wall is a missing corner. 4. The use of mirror(s) is a common practise by many Feng Shui practitioners. And the concave ones are often placed facing out of the home e.g. outside of the window "usually waist" height. Usually, best not to aimed it at another person's home if it is very close-by (if possible) 5. Another method often used by some Feng Shui practitioners to "patch" a missing corner is to apply very general concepts: 5.1. What is the element at that sector and add an "ehancement to that sector": 5.2 For example, if there is a missing corner at :- North, some Feng Shui practitioners recommend a water feature East, wood or a plant at that sector West - metal object etc... 5.3 Placing symbols of that element in that sector:- For example, if there is a missing corner at North, a painting of a water feature - instead of real water feature or East - a painting full of greenery or green colour or a dragon figurine to represent wood or green etc...
  6. Which Theory to Apply? Boss?
  7. 1. You should be more concerned with some of the points found under this link:- http://www.geomancy.net/wiki/Want_to_build_your_dream_home%3F 2. For example, a frontage at NE and East will vastly affect how the water (rain water) drains from your plot of land to out of your home. This may sound very simple, but in general for most homes, there are often two directions wheredrainage will equate with Wealth and the third direction will equate with "Power and Authority" for the person staying there. 3. The saying goes " a little knowledge is a dangerous thing"! And for proper Feng Shui to work, it is needs a holistic approach. 4. What you are trying to practise is both "Fast Food" and "kindergarten" Feng Shui. No wonder, many later blame why Feng Shui cannot work. It is also similar to the concept of "a bad workman always blames their tools" not themselves! Anonymous wrote: We are west group persons- kua7 &8. We will start building our home this year 2009. That makes it a period 8 house. Our rectangular lot is sitting west facing east(Tui lot). Back yard is along northwest, west and southwest. The north and south sides are the long side of the rectangle with both sides adjacent to our neighbors' property. Only access to our lot from the road is from the east side. Now we are confused where should we face our main door. I understand East and Southeast are inauspicious directions for us. While Northeast is devil's door. How should we position our main door? facing East or NE? 5. It is better in the above example to throw a coin and see (Head = East?) and (Tails = NE)? Try to use the coin and check the result. You should have your answer, here.
  8. 1. You can make use of the free reports under this link:- http://www.geomancy.net/reports/reports.htm 2. or go directly to the report known as: Find out your personal element:- http://www.geomancy.net/reports/reports-list/perlist-personal-element.htm
  9. This ayam bua keluk dish is eaten with a plate of rice. The gravy of this dish is "soaked" into the rice, giving it a "nutty" flavour. The alkaline of the bua keluk seed or nut (fruit) is balanced by adding assam to give it more "acidity".
  10. Amanda Y. wrote: In your Eight House chart, you have the words: Death, Disaster, Spook and Irritation. To which of them is: Ho Hai, Wu Kwei, Lui Sha and Chueh Ming? 1. The terms used above are not in internationally recognised Chinese Mandarin "pinyin" or proper romanized Chinese characters. However, Wu Kwei should mean Spook. Quote: Another Q, we know that Death is the worst direction. Which is the least bad direction? If you had to rate 1 to 4 with 1 being the least bad direction and 4 being the death direction, how would you rate disaster, spook and irritation? I ask this because we plan to build a house or transfer to another house. My partner and myself belong to the East group. My mother belongs to the West group. 2. Death and disaster should go together. While spook and irritation together comes second. Quote: 2. Generally, death and disaster are the "worst" while spook and irritation both comes "second". We are looking into a South facing home, but it spells disaster for my mother. So if ever we get this house, even though it's a disaster for my mother...is it okay if we put her in a West location because it's a longevity area for her? At least that's a compromise? Thanks for the help! 3. Technically, based on "textbook" assessment, this sounds OK. 4. However, two are factors should be considered:- 4.1 Compass Direction A bedroom in a west compass direction should be looked at very closely. For example, this is where the sunsets and we do not want a situation where a room here can be very warm. Especially for an elderly who many spent most of her time in that bedroom. Furthermore, if there are open windows, ultra-violet light may be "harmful" if one gets too much exposure. I can think of "skin cancer" and for the elderly - cataract of the eyes etc... 4.2 Flying Star Feng Shui No use if the bedroom seems "perfect" under the Eight House chart of the person but if the sector is plagued with bad Flying Stars like #5, #2, #9 or a combination of any one or more of them.
  11. 1. In general, without looking further into other various concepts:- 1.1. Usually the safer kitchen colours should often be: a. The cabinets: natural wood (can range from teak, maple wood, pine wood, rose wood, darker - hard wood and other wood - wood tone colours). Generally, any range of brown colours. b. Many modern cabinets in the kitchen can also be "metallic" colour tone e.g. silver. And also white. This range of metallic colours are OK for the kitchen. 1.2. Many years back e.g. in the 1970's some homes use green laminated or greenish cabinet colours. This is also OK. 1.3 I mentioned kitchen cabinets as generally in most kitchens, these cabinets account for the largest "area" in a kitchen. 2. Especially for colours like: "Water" elementcolours (Blue, black or grey):- 2.1 Dark or Navy Blue colours Any range of blue colours should be used sparingly in a kitchen environment. Be it found on the wall or kitchen cabinet. As water colours in GENERAL have to be used cautiously in any kitchen. Especially a kitchen in the NORTH sector of a home. 2.2 Black colour Black colour should also be used cautiously especially for the kitchen cabinet or "walls". However, it is still acceptable to be used as the table top e.g. black granite is OK, here. Otherwise, avoid using it in a North kitchen. 2.3 Grey tone colour: In general, this is a pastel colour and amongst all the "Water" element colours and is the most acceptable if one really wants to use the Water element range of colours. 3. Fire element colours: Red, pink or purple 3.1 Best to avoid using this range of colours especially for a kitchen located in the Northwest or South of a home. 3.2 Northwest is commonly known as "Fire at Heaven's gate". Or the trigram representing " Heaven " and associated with the Male breadwinner. 3.3 South: In general, south represents the "Fire" element. 4. Earth element colours : Yellow, cream or beige 4.1 This range of colours are "neutral" colours for a kitchen. Thus acceptable. 5. In conclusion:- 5.1 Generally, Wood element colours should often be used especially if the kitchen is located in the North sector of a home. 5.2 Neutral colours for MOST kitchens are: Metal element colours e.g. White or metallic colours such as silver. 5.3 Earth element colours: Most of the time is also considered neutral colour. Except bright yellow should preferably not be used if the kitchen is in the North sector of a home. 5.4 Before deciding on painting a colour for the kitchen wall, do check the "colour" on your kitchen cabinet, also. And especially a fridge (refrigerator) especially if the fridge is bright RED or bright BLUE. Other colours of a fridge is less of a concern for the kitchen.
  12. 1. Ayam means chicken 2. Bua means seed. 3. Bua Keluk means a type of seed. Please see "circled" in red in the picture, below. The seed comes from Indonesia. And is also very popular with the Pernakan Chinese. Migrating Chinese who were assimilated into the Malay (and Bugis) culture of the region. In Singapore, high concenrtations of the Pernakan Chinese could be found in the Katong (and Joo Chiat) district (in the early 1940's to 1980's). Some are still there. In Malaysia in Malacca. Taste of the Bua Keluk? Earthy taste - taste to be acquired. Very young seeds have a "liver" coloured tone. And these can be bitter.
  13. Fish means "Abundance" in Chinese. This is home-made large Raw Fish and Abalone dish. Full of salmon and abalone and cabbage! Plentiful abalone: no restaurant wants to serve unless pay through the nose.. Fa Cai “hair”. Actually a type of black fungus .. that looks like hair
  14. 1. Yes, based on the Chinese Astrology sign: Goat (Ram): In particular those with the elements: Strong Metal, Weak Water and Weak Wood Goats are considered the "worst" in 2009. And weak fire and strong earth are also bad - bad year. However, if you are other elements even if you are of the Goat sign, you should notfair too badly. You can go thru this resourceto understand more:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/yearly-forecast/fortunes-2009.htm Note: Ram (Sheepor Goat)are of thesame animal sign.

    Bus 14

    1. So sorry, is there any specific history we do not know about this bus number 14? 2. If there is no "unfortunate history", then in my opinion, there should not be a major concern in taking this bus all the time.
  16. 1. More importantly, it is best that your stove in the kitchen has been set up and ready to be used on the first day of move-in. 2. The common procedures for the Chinese (Move-in) procedure can be found under this link:- info.geomancy.net Quote: Can i buy a gas tong before move into new house? Where is the wealth position located? Please advise. 1. Generally, it is acceptable to buy a gas tong. Often as mentioned above, it is best to use the primary stove i.e. mounted in the kitchen. 2. There are many different types of wealth position. Under Flying star, try to check where is your mountain star #8 and water star #8. These are suppose to be your current wealth locations and there is a difference between mountain and water star.
  17. An interesting article on some of the traditions and customs of the Chinese during Chinese New Year which lasts 15 days....
  18. In my opinion, although you are taking one step in the right direction, but there are still over 100 steps to go!
  19. 1. There are specialised concepts meant for specific senarios. 2. For the home Feng Shui, besides the Shapes and Forms, Flying Star Feng Shui should be applied. There are many more concepts. 3. Why Flying Star Feng Shui? The clue, here is that like human beings each home also has it's own birth chart! 4. You and I were born in a specific date and time. Thus, under Ba Zi, we can determine our element. And for husband and wife, as you had mentioned there is what is known as a "binding element". In your case, you had mentioned that it is "water element". 5. As mentioned under para 3, all homes have their own birth chart and characteristics - based on which flying star sectors: Facing direction and sitting directions. 6. What you are trying to do is to simply say that because both of your binding element is Water, then your home should be e.g. say painted in blue etc... But again, you are not living in an isolated environment! 7. Your home has it's distinctive birthchart. And each sector has different characteristics. For example say the location that you wanted to paint blue of place a water feature has a bad #3 wood. (#3 relates to lawsuits, quarrels, conflicts. And since this is a wood element, having a water position or blue colour here is surely going to inflame this bad #3 wood.) etc... 8. The saying goes... "a little knowlege is a dangerous thing!". Thing about it! Avoid, the common mistake of applying "fast food feng shui". Reading something and then, doing 100 and 1 thing in the name sake of "Feng Shui".
  20. 1. There are two concepts, here: 1.1. "Paper qualifications" 1.2. Real life situation (reality check) 1.1. "Paper qualifications". Not exactly what is meant but technically, strictly from an academic Five Elements concept:- Reference: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-5element.htm For a weak fire person; has to get support from "wood" to grow. Wood careers can range from teaching, training, co-ordination etc.. In general, food industry and like your current industry real estate belongs more to the earth element. Strictly from an academic exercise, earth draws out fire. Thus on paper, food careers are not auspicious for a weak fire person. As the person is said to be already weak fire and yet, food (earth) draws or "suck" more out of that person (weak fire). 1.2 In a small country like Singapore, where there are fewer geniune entrepreneurs, many take up common jobs like : real estate, hawkers or taxi drivers - especially for those who have reached 38 years old or more and cannot find other jobs to do. This is indeed a reality check. No choice, our previous school foundation is based on "route" leading and no creativity, risk taking .... culture. More so, scared to be a bankrupt. 1.3 Look at what happened to "Bubble tea"... shops... the bubble had burst for these "Taiwanese" type of drink(s). Previously, I was asked to do audits for these shops, I turned them all down! With some capital, e.g. $10K to $15K, almost everyone can open such a shop! Entry is so opened! 1.4 Look also at those "Luo han" fish sellers; was also approached to do Feng Shui. I would tell them "PLEASE, DON"T WASTE YOUR MONEY and TIME!"
  21. 1. Please take note that the "Pi Yao" is a modern commercial product. And such products appear in abundance only after the mid 1980's. 2. Many Geomancers, are not shameful, in promoting commercial products, as these brings in the bulk of their "ill gotten" gains. Some Geomaners even preach.... during their audit sessions: " You have to place this specific painting, here". 3. You might ask: "Where do I get this painting." 4. The geomancer say: "Come to my shop." 5. For the individual,THREE key concepts should be considered:- 5.1. CONCEPT 1: Under the Compass School of Feng Shui, the Eight House (East/West group) applies. The question asked is " Does the compass change directions? Yes or No? 5.2 CONCEPT 2: Concept of Tai Sui or Grand Duke of Jupiter Capital punishment of the Tai Sui has more to do with "touch" or "disturb him". Thus, the rest e.g. facing Tai Sui is less of an issue. 5.3 CONCEPT 3: Commonsense Approach to Feng Shui: 5.3.1 You said it: "There is little I can do..." 5.3.2 If it ain't broken, don't fix it! Think about it! 6. The saying goes " If the buying stops, the selling can!" Go to any rich man's home. Can you find all sorts of rubbish "in the name of" Feng Shui products? "Here, the seller gets richer and the buyer... conned into departing with their hard earned money". Dear Masters, I am confused w/ some of the advice I've been receiving about facing Tai Sui 2009. My desk is directly facing Tai Sui (NE) this year (2009) and there's little I can do about it. However, the 'entrance' to my cubicle is facing SSW. My cubicle is in the SWW sector of my building. So do I need to place a 'Pi Yao' facing NE to appease Tai Sui?Or am I ok b/c of the sector my cubicle is in regardless of which way I face? Pls advise.
  22. The morale of the story is that the rich gets richer, by investing in time and effort to secure (expert) help in finding a good home. The poor as usual, gets into a cycle of poverty: Imagine buying a home equivalent to a ten year old car. No matter how much effort is done (later) to improve their home, the Feng Shui of the home cannot turn it into a "gem" of a car! If one bought a run-down toyota, how to turn it into a lovely 7 series BMW? Again, it is like a family of 8 buying a home equivalent of a small Chinese cherry car! How to fit 8 persons in the car! No way! Have to purchase a car the equivalent of an MPV!
  23. 1. What you had described is very similar to the development known as The Meyer Place. This is the link to it:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=19&mid=5532&new= 2. In all developments, there are often excellent units, good units and inauspicious units. This depends on which floor, what is the external influence of that particular development. Thus no two homes in a same development is similar. 3. In the above example, the unit " achieves " a quantum leap in Feng Shui by "sucking" wealth from the duplex bungalow - directly within it's development. This bungalow formerly belongs to a wealthy merchant : Tan Lark Sye. 4. Location, location and location plays an important factor. Thus, the smart person would normally get Feng Shui advice prior to purchasing a home. Vs one that they had already chosen and asked for a Feng Shui consultation. 5. In this example, there are also homes that are "entrapped" and one example is as follows:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=19&mid=11582&new= 6. . Usually, there are two major instances where a home may not be "lived" in by human beings.... http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=3&mid=23677&new=
  24. 1. Even in Singapore, it is very common for bedrooms to have an attached toilet. 2. Commonsense approach to Feng Shui:- 2.1 Toilets are considered "dirty" especially each time we flush the toilet bowl, the "air" and "water pressure" shoots out fine mists or droplets all over the entire toilet area. And if there are openings, these will "flow" further. 2.2 However, one day, I was driving along the highway, and this radio feature, had this person, selling some disinfection tablets to regularly sterile the toothbrush much like those denture cleaning tablets. He said that anywhere we place the toothbrush in the toilet, there will sure to be some form of "germs". 2.3 I was "shocked" because: many or all of us from young had never sterlised our toothbrush, or other utensils such as glass for mouth wash etc... 2.4 Thus, the conclusion, here that most of healthy adults do have certain residence to general germs. And is no major cause for concern -- in this area. 3. Given a small room, more doors, may not be practical. In my opinion, just leave it will do.
