1. There are many factors to consider for an apartment:- 1.1. Shapes and Forms Feng Shui 1.2. Flying Star Feng Shui 1.3. Eight House (East / West Group) 2. The "unknown" factor, here is how good or bad the Shapes and Forms of the new apartment. 3. Flying Star Feng Shui: What period is this apartment? Period 6 or 7 or even 8? What facing direction it is: S1 or S2/3 under Flying star Feng Shui It would be considered good Flying Star Feng Shui if the home isa Period 8, S2 or S3. But for S1, hopefully, the toilet or kitchen is not drowned at it's North side. Some homes that have better Flying Star can withstand "poor" Eight House of the owners. Since this overall luck is higher, than the individual Eight House incompatibility. For your previous apartment,both Period 7 and 8 only have good stars at the frontage, otherwise, they need to be disarmed or neutralised as other than the frontage every other sector has relatively nasty stars that need to be disarmed. 4. Thus if apartment has good Shapes and Forms of both the external and interior laout, this would be a plus side! 5. With these two major unknowns; it is a question mark, here. As especially NW Period 7; even ifit suits both you and your brothers may not equally have good luck as all Period 7, NWapartmentshave their water wealth (clear space) locked up at the centre of the home. And most of the time, even if one wants to try to activate water wealth #8 for such a home,itis only giving "small luck". In GENERAL, a west group person may considerNE or SWfacing homesas having better wealth (but need to disarm health issues). 6. Usually if we single handledly consider just the Flying Star, in GENERAL,ranking of facing directions (excluding Shapes and Forms) are:- Ranking by Flying Star choice ===================== Rank 1: NE orSWfacing (But beware of afternoon sun) Rank 2: South facing Rank 3: East or West facing (But beware ofafternoon sun) Not so fantastic facing directions are usually:- Last Resort 1: NW or SE (But if under Period 8, can consider) Last, last Resort 2: North Rank 1, 2 and 3, would benefit greatly if they are Period 8 apartments. 1. Definitely, commonsense dictate that if one calls one or more Feng Shui practitioners; you will definitely get different advice. 2. As mentioned in many previous postings, there are many considerations when placing a fish tank and other matters like colours in the home. 3. Your question to me is like: two practitioners, two different advise, and how? 3.1 Frankly, I am this side of the world, even if Australia is close-by: not seen your layout plan nor anything else for that matter. 3.2 You have to be realistic and even if you asked me how many fishes 8 or 9 is correct? without any reference to proper Feng Shui tools like: the compass directions, the flying star chart of sectors and even individual person's ba zi, I am equally in the blind, here! It is like the blind, leading the blind! (full stop). 4. You may have to check out whether your practitioners practise Flying Star and how they derive your chart and other authentic Feng Shui matters. 5. Simply placing a water feature at North, is a real concern, unless it is a water wealth location. And I would be concerned if a practitioner practises kindergarten type of Feng Shui. Where such practitioners may only have a ONE dimensional view of Feng Shui : North = Water , South = Fire .. That kind of Feng Shui mentality is "gone with the wind" type of case!

1. Frankly, Feng Shui is not a cure all. 2. If you have some knowledge of Flying Star Feng Shui, the best enhancements is to improve your water and mountain star #8 sector(s). And neutralise some of bad stars #5 and #3. 3. The above is all one can do under proper Authentic Feng Shui. Anything else, is "crossing-one's-fingers'.

1. In my opinion, most of us don't feel comfortable with pests coming into our homes.. especially since they are suddenly attracted to your home. 2. A few months ago, a client who went to my one of my talks, call me to her home to do a Feng Shui. She was equally concerned as her home is always "plagued" with cochroaches! And she asked, why? 3. Her situation certainly would be different from yours, as her apartment is right above a typical Chinese coffee-shop. And she mentioned cockroaches are more prevalent in the day and afternoon. 4. Here, what I believed was that, during day-time when the coffee shop is operating, it can be very warm, uncomfortable (heat) from cooking vessels, stoves and human traffic. Naturally, the cockroaches took refuge in a cooler, quieter envirnoment, such as one floor, above. And in the evening, they would venture, downstairs for a bite or two! 5. Sorry for the distraction! Of course, having cockroaches and crickets don't seem to go well with good qi or Feng Shui. At the same time, you certainly woudn't have a good feel about your own home (Human luck) factor. 6. Maybe this is just one time... if worse, call the pest control people or buy those cockroach "sweet poisons" that may wipe out their family and relatives... when they return to their nests.

How about placing a mirror (or highly reflective glass surface?) This is symbolic of roving eyes of the husband ... where the mirror is said to reflect on the stove making the home have TWO stoves!
