Dear Anon, In my opinon, the best units are at #20 or #23. Units that are facing the highway such as #22, #30 etc... can be quite noisy and parts of their balcony/bedrooms is affected by the afternoon sun especially for higher floors. The unit that you are considering is OK especially for high floors since there is a very auspicious double 8 at the balcony area(facing direction). And in fact, what better scope is that there is aswimming pooljust outside of it. Furthermore, because the unit is South-Northdirection, most of the unit(s)will not be affected by the afternoon sun. Only the very high floors will be affected (e.g. master bedroom)i.e. may be affected by the afternoon heat. This apartment can be auspicious especially for East group breadwinner. Other than Feng Shui point of view, what sets this leasehold condo apart is that it is a 2 to 3 minutes walk to the bus interchange and the MRT /LRT. And the nearby LOT1 shopping complex/banks. This is not Feng Shui, but truly one of the "gems" of staying in this condo. In addition, overall, the quality of build by the developer MCL for most of the units there are quite well built. For example, no where-else can one find a very solid balcony sliding doors. Good quality, indeed. Other than the little imperfections of some units. If I have stayed in Choa Chu Kang area, would certainly consider some of the units, here. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Niteka, Since you are a weak fire person, in terms of the 5 elements concept: wood element is your support element. And one way of looking at acting is that it belongs to the water element. Thus in terms of the 5 elements concept, water element is your "Power and Authority" career. Or a career that brings you "power and authority". However, since you are a weak fire person, you have to be supported by wood element. Thus, if I look at it this way: wood is about growth or constant upgrading of skills or honeing of the skill set for acting; a water career such as acting thus is not that bad; since on a personal level, I am sure, you have have the opportunity to "grow" your talents. However, usually, for a weak fire person, one would thus perhaps at a later stage in life, more contented with a career associated with wood element. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, The Flying star apartment report is based on the idea that each floor or storey has a different qi flow. And this Flying Star analysis is known as "Vertical Flying Star Feng Shui". However, it has to be used in conjunction with "horizontal Flying star Feng Shui" or the regular 20 Year Flying Star analysis. Since you now see him more often, try to make the opportunity to be togetherness. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Fran, At a location which you had described i.e. mountain #8 with water #8, then this is known as a double #8. And under Period 8, this is considered an auspicious combination: 1. Virtual water In certain situations, for one reason or another, some may not be able to activate water at this specific location. For example, if this is the front door and on the exterior, it could be a lobby shared with other subsidiary proprietors or tenants. Here, since the main entrance is at the frontage with double #8's no real water - is acceptable. 2. If one stays in a landed property, one can have a pond, as you had mentioned, right in front of the house. Ideally, the water feature should be (if one stands inside the house facing out: 1. directly outside the main door or on the left side). Since water at the right side is not good i.e. may lead to "flower of romance" or illicit affairs by either party. Warmest Regards, Cecil
-
Dear Anon, From your description, looks like the back of your house is instead the "frontage" of it. As under Flying star Feng Shui, what matters is the "mouth" of the house orwhat you have describe best fits the description of the seaview as the frontage. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Eli, Yes, I do concur with you that often artificial flowers do really make a place look nice - without the hassle and costs of frequently changing real (dying flowers). In fact, many will agree that artificial flowers especially single colour or multi-coloured ones often uplift us or make us feel good - factor. I believe, many Feng Shui authors also did mentioned that artificial flowers or plants to them are just as good for the "feel-good" factor. Which is very important for many of us. The only bad name about real flowers is where in Singapore, there are those who approach flower shops to purchase a reef of dead flowers to sent to their ex-lovers or ex-husbands: to spite them! This kind of behaviour is bad. In addition, for the unromantic, it is never a good idea (at all) to give or buy your loved ones artificial flowers e.g during valentine's day! Else, that will be the last valentine with that specific person. So actually, do go ahead with having them. But once a while either rinse or wash them or when they do get real old, discard and buy new ones! Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear James, Yes, most of the time, the answers can be quite subjective depending on the way one argues the case. If we are writing a text book for school children, then this is considered as "wood" or growth. Since it can help the child grow (his mind). If we are writinga scientific article, it can also be considered growth (wood element). But if we are writing articles on "hate"; or lawyers writing to "sue" someone or a letter from a bank asking to collect money etc.. then, this may involve "fire element". If one writes a song, or pen it down on paper, than, it would seem to be like "water element" since music is fluid.... If one is a strong earth person:- His career with wealth is associated with Water element. His career with power and authority is associated with Wood. However, if he or she is not in any of these careers, then a suitable but career not leading to wealth is the Metal element. Each of us, under the Five elements concept has: 1. career associated with wealth 2. career with power and authority 3. a career that can help our element. For example, if one is a strong earth person, a metal career can help to reduce this strong earth. 1. Career in a specific Industry 2. Career in a specialised field. Thus, your career with wealth has to do with wood element. Thus, most importantly, under Para 2, it is said that it is best to have a career that suits our "specialised" field - as the first priority over the specific industry. For example, one can still say, work in a bank but is involved in new technology development for this industry. More importantly, also is the "score" in our chart. For example: Career with Wealth:- ======================= Earned wealth Water Total = 3 Unexpected wealth Water Total = 3 Career with Power and Authority:- +++++++++++++++++++++++ Authority WoodTotal = 0 Determination WoodTotal = 1 In the above example, the above person is better off, working in "Water element" as he/she has a better success rate due to higher numbers. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Ann, For some Chinese, they would consider using the Ba Gua mirror. However, even if one places a potted plant as what you had mentioned, unfortunately, the staircase is still in full view thus such a remedy may not work properly. Frankly, when confronted with such an issue, it is very difficult to resolve it since the underlining thing is "if it cannot be seen, it no longer becomes a threat" cannot be fulfilled. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. Usually, we do not have the luxury of a separate study room. Thus for many of us, our bedroom doubles-up as a study room. 2. The practical approach is to organise or keep our bedroom neat and tidy at all times to create a good ambience for both rest and work. 3. For Feng Shui, it is good to face your "fu wei" but we also have to take into consideration the room layout as well as sunlight. 3.1 For example, if our bedroom window face the afternoon sun (west) directly, and if we often use the bedroom to study in the afternoon, than it may not be too good an idea to sit facing the window (even if this is our fu wei) direction - unless we can somehow control the lighting and/or aircondition. 3.2 Besides this, we should apply Yin and Yang concept to Feng Shui of our bedroom. Here, if it is time to rest, we can make it cosy. And if it is time to study in the same room, we should not make the bedroom too dark else, we can easily fall asleep whilst studying. 3.3 Frankly, meditation does not appeal to everyone. The saying goes "to each it's own". Thus, if you feel relaxed after a meditation sesson, then it is for you. 3.4 Besides this, examination techques are equally important. Such as having a good work group to motivate us. Or to work on examination questions etc... Well, good luck in your examinations! Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Mei, Please click on the attachment for a sample report on how to: 1. draw a centre grid of a home 2. place the study or work table to face either Prosperity or Excellent sector. 3. In the attachment:- 3.1 you can see a MR ABC. His best work directions are North (Excellent) and East (Prosperity). 3.2 He decides to use the middle bedroom for his work or study. 3.3 In the sample report, one can see that he can either place his work/study table facing North or East or both. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Based on your description (below), it does not sound serious. This is because it does not seem that the old tree "slices" into the main door nor the front gate. So long as it does not "slice" thru a window, this is perfectly acceptable given also that the tree is across the street. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. In my most recent posting, I elaborated on the Holy Trinity of Luck (Geomancy Luck). 2. The single most abused thing in Geomancy today has to do with a marketing ploy for us to purchase "stuffs". 3. If we analyse carefully, this area or the sale of products comes under Human or man luck. 4. The reason why products are touted today is that Geomancers will try to squeeze out as much as they can out of our (hard earned) money to "sell" or "promote" products. 5.Thus, many of us who had visitedFeng Shui sites before will come to expect that site has a products page with all sorts of products for sale. 6. Actually, such products costs very little to produce. But sold at a very high mark-up. As a result, the FS consultant not only get his fees but also make some of us forkout a few thousanddollars more. 7. Is'nt it better to savesuch money either forthe rainy day or for our children's education. 8. If we look at most rich people, they do not haveall these "crazy" things stackedup in their home, facing the main door, looking out of the windows etc... Therefore, think twice before, being conned into buying lots of stuffs! Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Actually, when we consider luck under metaphysics (Geomancy), we should look at it from a holistic approach involving three types of luck:- Previously, I have already mentioned about three kinds of luck:- 1. Heaven Luck (known as Luck that was given to us when we are born) If we can see our Ba Zi chart, it comes under the category known as Pian Cai or "lottery or windfall" luck. Some of us are quite lucky while others do not have this type of luck at all. Worse, some of us have this luck only when we are at death bed e.g. 99 or 100 years old! 2. Earth Luck (or commonly known as Feng Shui) While some of us many not have Pian cai or lottery luck, some of us, get our influence from our earth luck. For example, good Shapes and Forms Feng Shui is one factor. Another is the application of Flying Star Feng Shui. Under Flying star Feng Shui, if we are able to properly tap our flying star luck e.g. #8 = present prosperity (Under #8, commonly the Mountain star #8 has to do with relationship and lottery luck). (Under water star #8, it is suppose to bring generally good wealth luck) #9 = future prosperity and #1 = future future prosperity. Of-course, it also boils down to the three words: "location, location and location". 3. Human Luck or Man Luck Under this holy trinity of Geomancy: Heaven, Earth and Human Luck, we can see that sometimes, perhaps a home may not have very good Feng Shui, or we may not necessarily have good Heaven luck, but if we do have good Human (Man) Luck, often, this can bring up our total LUCK. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Josephine, If the home is facing 75 degrees then under Flying Star Feng Shui, it is considered as a East 1 chart. Currently, this home is considered as a Period 7 home, E1. If the home is maintained (no major renovations done), then this home can take advantage of #8 i..e. a water position at NE (water star #8) and SE (which has an auspicious mountain star #8 at this sector) to boost the wealth of the home. Other then this, one may consider "flying the home to Period 8, depending on the interior layout and star chart numbers of Period 8 to see if it is better than the current Period 7 chart. From the Shapes and forms point of view, the home is relatively in a "grid" and looks like all homes in this area is "flat". And thus on average, is acceptable - Shapes and Forms. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Linda, Actually, you can use the many free calculators located at http://www.geomancy-online.com to generate the correct charts. As to the Chinese zodiac signs, because usually January or February or even as late as March, this is where the new year of the lunar calendar stars. For exampel in 1997:- 19 Feb 1996 to 6 Feb 1997 = fire rat and those born 7 Feb 1997 to 27 Jan 1998 = fire ox Reference: http://www.lovesigns.net/astrology/ayear/a90-2010.htm This can change the Ba zi element and strength for anyone born between 1 January 1997 to 6 February 1997 if they had wrongly being considered as a fire ox instead of a fire rat. Therefore, why not use the free calculator and solve all your problems. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Usually for each sharp pointed design aimed at your flat, there is not much choice but to counter it. Thus, if there is one sharp pointed edge pointed at a specific window, one mirror can be used there. But if there is another sharp pointed object, another one should be used at another window. There is really not much choice, here. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Hong, Since you have accepted to keep the mask and violin bow, it is best to e.g. wrap them up (if not done so already) in newspaper and keep it in a store room - not display it. It is good that you have rejected the purse. Do check when their renovations are over and more importantly, when are they collecting it back. Avoid displaying these two items in your home or visible in the living room. Usually, if one has a Chinese Loupan, any objects that harbour any "illl effects" can make the Loupan compass needle sway in different directions. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, A relationship needs two hands to clap. However, since both of you still love each other, it is best to find out what is wrong. (But not sure how to, it is best to get professional help or assistance in this area. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear William, Frankly, there is no harm in hanging a painting of guan yin facing the main door. Usually, it is hang in the living room area. Although the painting of guan yin does not have it's eyes "dotted", it is still best to avoid:- 1. letting the painting face the dining table 2. have it's back to a toilet wall or share a toilet wall 3. avoid facing into any of the bedrooms. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Ann, I strongly believe that there are more sectors that need balancing also. However, for a #3, #9 and #7 combination, it is not too good an idea to use water here:- 1. #3 is a bad wood element. And water helps to further fuel bad wood! 2. #9 is under Period 8, the "Future prosperity star" and if it is also the ws#9, then avoid adding water! This is because 9 = fire element. And adding water would drown your "future prosperity". 3. #7. Actually, #7 is a weak metal. And can easily be exhausted when it takes care of #3 bad wood. (Here, metal destroys wood or exhausts it.) In fact, #9 is also used to control #7. Thus, a water position is not an ideal thing to use, here. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Emily, Only if #8 is a Water star, can we best activate it. However, in your question, since #8 = base star, it will have to take on the characteristics of it's personal element i.e. this is suppose to be an auspicious earth element. And on it's own, using water is not a good idea. Since water is like having a "hole to drawn the mountain". Not the kind of idea to do so. In fact, under a Flying star chart, if there is e.g. a base #8 while one of the other stars is a #5, because of Period 8, the #8 is suppose to reign supreme or take precedence over only one #5 in the chart. But if there are two or more #5 with #8 in a sector, than, this may over power #8. For example, in a sector, there are:- MS#5WS #6 Base #8 In such a chart, since there is only one #5 vs a good base #8, placing water at this sector may accidently drown the auspicious #8. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Fenger, Actually, in my opinion, it has to do more with the immediate family. Thus, in your case, since it is your hb's father's uncle, he should not be considered as the immediate family member. Thus, in my opinion, since the uncle is not an immediate family member, then holding a wedding 100 days later is actually OK. But if it is one's immediate family member than the wedding should be held one year later. Warmest Regards, Cecil
