  1. Dear Felicia, Apparently, you are new to Feng Shui. 1. For the elusive "wealth corner" there are quite alot of things to take note off! 2. Authentic Feng Shui involves especially understanding Shapes and Forms and Compass School Feng Shui: Eight House / Flying star. 3. If para 2 seems greek, than either if you want to D.I.Y. then got to start from fresh going thru various concepts such as those under Para 2. 4. In addition, the most common mistake made by many of us is: often, we think in terms of only " where is my wealth sector" Not realising that : " Fix-the-leak, first!" 5. For example, many us heard of this story about this boy who tried to save Holland. He literally saved Holland by using his own hands to plug a leak from a dam! 6. Imagine, if your home is like a boat. Many of us only think of trying to place objects, figurines or literally pave a sector with gold. But unaware that our boat has a leak. 7. Even a small leak in the boat will eventually develop into a big leak and ultimately sink our ship! 8. D.I.Y if you can, but if one is too impatient, then may have to consider expert help. Frankly, there are no two ways about it! Warmest Regards, Cecil
  2. Dear Mothers, I don't like to sound like an MCP (Male chalvanistic pig) but I do seem to see many mothers in this forum worring unnecssarily because of reading too much "In-the-name-of-Feng Shui" issues. I understand the concern of many mums for their family. But if you are a mother, I strongly recommend that you see this show: Executive Decision reference: http://movies.warnerbros.com/ed/ Stuart Baird, Kurt Russell, Steven Seagal, Halle Berry, John Leguizamo, Oliver Platt, Joe Morton, David Suchet, BD Wong, Len Cariou, In my opinion, the most meaningful part is where "Kurt Russell who only had some knowledge of handling a small plane, had no choice but to pilot the boeing jumbo jet. With Halle Berry at his side. At the point of emergency landing Halle Berry was assisting Kurt Russell with reminders on what to do and not to do. And later when Kurt Russell almost panic! Halle Berry.. said " JUST, FLY THE PLANE !" For example, like the question on should we pay "homage" i.e. pray to Tai Sui? Imagine this, many of the forum users would be at least 25 years or more especially for mothers. And if one has never prayed to Tai Sui in the past, should not suddenly pray to Tai Sui. Even if we do, are we going to pray to him/her for the rest of our "miserable" life? Our life would really indeed become miserable if we everyday we have to remember this, fear this fear that. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  3. Dear Paris, 1. Firstly this message is to all users. Geomancy.net has always tried our best to provide free reports as possible. But because of high costs of providing server resources etc... do support us thru either sponored links or other waysetc... 2. Since there are many permutations of e.g. strong metal vs strong metal, weak metal vs strong metal etc... To check on what are the such favourable combinations of elements, feel free to use the free comparison report under http://www.geomancy-online.com 3. Nowadays, again, I notice many users simply post a few lines: My or family's Date of birth are....... My house is 50 degrees.... And expect at the next log-in, their case to be miraculously done up for them. It is so easy to post these information, but imagine the work needed. Furthermore, many of these does not benefit everyone as it is specific to that individual, their family and home! Please be considerate! 4. Similarly, some user tend to posts a string of questions in one message. And often, I open the file, review it, close it. open it and never open it again. 5. Please avoid posting also questions like my sector is #5, #4, #2 tell me the cure? Some people just reguritate the free Flying Star report and expect answers. For those, why not use the paid Flying Star report? instead etc... or do it yourself if you can. 6. In terms of the Five Elements concept; in terms of personality clashes, both strong metal is said to be not as compatible with each other. But this is again academic. And, often, try your best to work on the Human aspect. Since you are the parent, one has the opportunity to in my opinion, work your best to make your daughter as both a friend and good parent. In fact, with the enhancement of humanities and social studies; I believe, this area has far more to offer than what Ba zi can at the moment. What we do not wantto see is "auto-suggestion" or self-fulfilling prophecies. I am more in favour of applying traditional tested tools like Shapes and Forms Feng Shuiand/or Flying StarFeng Shui to enhance our earth luck. Butwhat you havehas much to do with Human luck factors - i.e. relationship with daughter etc... This is where earth luck has less of an influence than human (relationship bonding ) luck. This is why, often, some people may only have average earth (Feng Shui) luck but because of excellent family bonding; they could do more than those who solely rely on just earth luck! Drawing a parallel: A hobbist often has the passion! While someone who is told to place a water feature for luck, may not often do as well as a hobbist! Think about that! 4. Dear Mr Mahtani, Hope you can do a favour by not posting your messages under CAPS LOCK. This is because in the internet and based on netiquette, what you wrote is suppose to imply "SHOUTING" which is not the best form of participating in any forum, not just this one. Therefore, I appeal to you to avoid "shouting" if you are not already aware of it. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  5. Dear Sophia, 1. Traditional Feng Shui has it's roots to the Five elements concept. 2. In my past forum messages, authentic Feng Shui has to do with both the Five elements concept and numerology based on say the Flying Star Feng Shui numbers. 3. Thus, whether the question of using an 8 wooden windchime is acceptable or not -- there is frankly no right or wrong answers. It is often due to one's interpretation and understanding or belief. 4. Much of many of the component of luck is "inter-twined" between Earth luck and Human luck! 5. This is because human beings are unique. And fortunately or unfortunately, most of us either have to be "swindled" or seem to think that paying for something may mean us good. This is where "sugar" coated earth luck could result in human luck! 6. For example, in Singapore, we hear of people who con the elderly by selling them a mystical healing stone! That suppose to heal things like cancer. 7. Some of us are neutral to this feeling. But some of us dwell with hope and because of HOPE, it spurs us or our body to energise and do a recovery! 8. This is why, some people "swear by" the purchase of so called Feng Shui products. And they seemly based on it to gain strength and hope from it (although it is just a sugar coated pill). In many laboratory tests, it also suggests that some people who had simply taken sugar coated pill did "benefit by it". 9. So, most likely many of us if we have a strong believe, or hope or passion (hobbists) can equally benefit without buying any of the commercial products. Since commercial products are truly non-magical. 10. Coming back to your point: 11. Under Flying Star Feng Shui, a number represents both an element and it's strength. 12. Let's only look at the simple issue an element:- 13. We often hear: tie 3 i-ching coins together and place it into our accounts book. 14. In terms of interpretation the number 3 represents WOOD element. And since the i-ching coins are often made of copper or brass or a mixture of other metals, here, under the five elements concept: "METAL destorys WOOD". As a result, it is like producing wealth. 15. Imagine a small block of wood. We use a metal article to carve out an object of art. This $5 object now can be sold at a higher price. 16. Traditionally, when we say hang a wind chime to cure a sector e.g. #5 (misfortune, sickness) = strong earth; many authentic Feng Shui practitioners would recommend a 6 rod hollow wind chime. Where 6 = big metal. And constant clinging of big metal helps to destroy it. 17. What about a wooden 8 piece wind chime? This can be considered a "modern" invention, today. But, academically, it is sound: Since we do not often get to see another of the same period cycle, as each cycle comes, some people may make product academically tuned to this period. Since we are in period 8, one argument is that anything to do with 8 is favourable. And since 8 is earth, a wooden windchime is acceptable. Since wood (much like the root of the tree) crushing into earth to "produce " wealth. Thus, from an academic point of view, so long as it can be logically related to the five elements and numerology under flying star, I cannot really fault the technical aspect of it. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  6. Dear Caroline, Please see below:- Otherwise, based on your description, it seems practical. Let's be reasonable. And see some logic, here: In the past, I mentioned this senario: Let's imagine that the two of us are interested in dating a colleague in the office. Both of us know "SECTOR" Feng Shui. And according to this "silly Feng Shui book" SW = our romance sector. I placed9 roses at the SW sector of my office work table. You saw what I had done. And boldly placed 99 roses at the SW sector of your work table. Maybe, you have enhanced to your max but to me, my max could be a room full of 999 roses. So, I have (secretly) outbid YOU! So, does it mean that I have "won" thiscolleague (girl/lady)? Instead, whatreally happened?????? Both of us instead of effectively wowing the lady, have lost her! What happened?? Seemingly while we are wasting ourresources "in the name of Feng Shui",another gentlemen, who had met her at her bus stop; sheltered her from rain and frequently talked to her got THE GIRL! The morale of the story? D'ONT be too silly in enhancing the SW sector! Statistically, it also does not make sense! If everyone seems to think that SW is their romance sector and everyone enhance it to their "max" it is not possible for all of them to get THE GIRL! In my opinion, paying homage to SW is one of the silliest things to do. In fact, every one can become aFeng Shui book writer and fantasie on a book easily by talking about each direction e.g. Chapter 1 -North -career sector .... Chapter 10 - SW - romance sector In my opinion, we are really paying silly money to people or giving it to people who write such stuffs! Precisely because such books are easy to write, and so easy to understand..... try it, and see if it really works! GOSH! INSTEAD, DO GET A LIFE! Warmest Regards, Cecil
  7. Dear Sophia, To be honest, we all have to live in harmony with our neighbours. So long as their wind chime does not affect our home even if it affects our other neighbours, we cannot do much. Perhaps, please, I don't want to have anything to do with this.... "What happens if your neighbour finds his windchime missing? And no one got caught? And each time after placing a windchime, their windchime goes missing. Don't they get sick of it and give up placing a wind chime? " so this story goes..." Perhaps, why not get all the other neighbours to pray for this to happen. Alternatively, there was this silly way some people were told to do : " write this line: my neighbour no longer interested in placing a wind chime". Suggestion? Write this text line 10,000 times and erh... see what happens?? Let us know.... by then? Warmest Regards, Cecil
  8. Dear Anon, This is a good question. However, when we speak of disturbing the Grand Duke, generally, it has more to do with "antagonising" him such as: 1. Disturbing him e.g. dirilling the walls or the infrastructure or changing the floor tiles or hacking the walls. 2. Touching him e.g. repainting the walls. Therefore, the above suggests of renovations at the sector of the Tai Sui or Grand Duke of Jupiter. In your case, the question is: Does your activity fit any of the above? YES/NO? If no? Or if you are merely chopping vegetables or cooking food, which is part of normal human activity, then, fear not that one could antagonise the Grand Duke. Look at it this way " I am sure - he would not want anyone to starve to death or for his sake don't do any cooking there? " Does this make sense? Or one wants still to shiver for fear or wet one's pants over this issue....hmm... Warmest Regards, Cecil
  9. Dear Eng Soon, Generally, often it is best to purchase ready made altars. Most of the time, these altars are made according to Feng Shui measurements. If you have a Feng Shui ruler, most of the time, good altars have both measurements for both Yang (living) and Yin (dead) Feng Shui ruler measurements that match good auspicious measurements within these two zones. Thus, generally, good altar measurements range between:- 15 inches to 17 inches 16 to 27.5 inches 34 to 35.5 inches 41.5 to 23 inches 49.5 to 50.5 inches 57 to 58.5 inches Any of the above can be used for either the Width, Height, Length or Breath of an altar. Reference: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-ruler.htm But of course, if you purchase a ready made altar, majority of them if they had been done correctly should be within the range of good altar measurements which often falls within any of the above measurements. For the altar, do remember not to hang up a piece of glass or granite or marble piece. Since, if this breaks, the entire altar may come crashing down. But however, it is perfectly OK to cut a piece of glass to place it on an altar table top to allow for easy cleaning. In addition, it is very inauspicious to place the altar sharing the same wall as the toilet bowl. Or if one lives in a landed property, the altar must not be below a toilet area (of the 2nd storey). Warmest Regards, Cecil
  10. Dear Cindy, Frankly, if both of you continue to have frequent quarrels, perhaps you could consider a Feng Shui audit. This is because most likely there could be some leak(s) in your home.
  11. Dear Sophia, Please see below:-
  12. Dear Sophia, Frankly, it is often wise not to read too many "wrong books". And often reading too many may result in "forcing" us into following too many silly "taboos". The key fundamental thing that all of us must remember that we are in this earth for a relatively short period and too many of such taboos can "ruined" our otherwise convenient life. Take the silly case of the idea that " we must not place a tv set facing our bed" or must cover it day in day out". In past forum messages, I had mentioned that if the argument was that the tv screen is like a reflective mirror. Some wise guy would say that when we sleep, our spirit wake up, see itself in the mirror, got a shock! But what happen if our spirit wakes up, would like to check his/her hair or face before going off roaming around.. All these have to do with "tolerance" levels. Some of us can sleep very well with mirrors all round e.g. on the wardrope etc.. but some of us feel uncomfortable (perhaps -- thanks to the thought put into their head of the first story). It is like some of us can eat very hot chili-peppers while others cannot. And if we look at the new monitor screens such as LCD monitors, we can hardly see our profile in it! The key to Feng Shui is also about qi flow. Besides placing our furniture based on good Feng Shui practises, it is also good to have air circulating within a room or home. Thus also has the feel good factor (cooling) and often good for both qi flow and human luck factors (feel comfortable). How often do we see a fan crashing down on us? Often the fan is securely tied to the ceiling. And rarely if ever we hear of one falling down and "killing" someone. Perhaps, many more people would die ina car accident rather than being hit or injured or killed by a ceiling fan. Again, fundamentally, the same statement applies: YOU STAY HERE, WE (Geomancers) DON'T! Warmest Regards, Cecil
  13. Dear Sophia, Look at it this way: millions or billions of people have never ever worshiped Tai Sui. Like yourself and your family, personally, I also have not done so. Nowadays, we read "clever" people putting the notion for us to do so. Frankly, it is so easy for them to tell us to do so. But, often these are marketing ploys. I believe, these "clever" people may not also have done so. We often hear of practitioners who give advise. But often the advise is only a short time e.g. 1 or 2 hours. Horror stories of "cannot use the toilet totally" etc... And the poor owner dare not use the toilet for life! Most of the time we should understand : "You stay there (your home) we don't (the practitioners)." Some would also say that all rabbits (born in the year of the rabbit) must pray to Tai Sui this year etc... But let us not forget that even if one is a "rabbit", there are many different breeds of rabbits. It is the same for those born in the year of the rabbit. There are so many different variants of a rabbit. Thus, imagine this, there are a total of 10 different rabbits:- Strong Metal rabbit Weak Metal rabbit Strong Water rabbit WeakWater rabbit Strong / Weak Wood rabbits Strong / Weak Fire rabbits Strong / Weak Earth rabbits Thus, one should best determine which rabbit one is before one comes to the wrong conclusion that for all rabbits, it will be a bad year. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  14. Dear Alex, Please see below:- Most likely, in my opinion, one (a hobbist) is based on passion! And perhaps this could be part of our passion could be translated to Human or man luck factors. Such as feel satisfied, good factors. While perhaps someone who has been "force" or "told" to place a fish tank perhaps may not have such a passion. Therefore, for collectors or hobbist, I always feel that this is not as important.
  15. Dear Anon, To be truly honest, it is best for you to consider seeking professional FS advise on this. This is because even for the kitchen, considerations like which part (compass direction) is the kitchen located. For the kitchen, things like certain locations e.g. NW (fire at heaven's gate), kitchen fitting the spouse etc.. have to be considered. Thus, it may sound simple, but these are some of the issues. If no major renovation is done, things like placing mirror(s) in the kitchen are some of the alternatives, used. Besides this, the kitchen may or may not be the direct or major cause of the problem(s). Warmest Regards, Cecil
  16. Dear Hoa Luong, Before one thinks that it is so easy to activate MS#9, please think again as this # cannot work alone. Rather than like many people who make a mistake of enhancing.. one should instead see if there is a leak. If so? Then, fix the leak!, First! There are so many various combinations. It is not possible for me to list out all the combinations. Just a few sample which I can think off: MS#9 with WS#7 For this type of combination (also please take not of the base / palace number. Here, it would be wishful thinking to enhance it. Rather, especially if there is also a #2 or #5 base, jolly well fix the leak e.g. use water element. If MS#9 with WS#3 Since water star #3 is related to disputes and legal problems, lighting or fire element can help in this combination. Such combinations should avoid any moving metal, here! Such as a windchime. If MS#9 with WS#5. Use metal e.g. constant metal to reduce it. To be truly honest, if you have the time to check thru many of the Period 7 or Period 8 Flying star charts where #9 is the MS, there are few if any enhancements for this star. But rather, there is often the concern especially if #9 is with #5 or #2 or #3 or #7. Even MS#9 with WS#4 can be bad for WS#4 since #9 = fire destroys water star #4 = wood element. If MS#9 is favourable in conjunction with other WS# and Base#, then, yes, it should be strengthed with a mountain. In fact, some of the worst combinations for Period 7 are those associated with MS#9 with WS#5 and Base#5. This is one of the worst combinations of MS/WS/ Base(palace) Warmest Regards, Cecil
  17. Dear Winnie, As you had mentioned or "suspected" earlier that not all homes at a cul-de-sac are inauspicious. As mentioned in my previous message, "It Depends". Since no two homes are often the same, the type of curve, traffic flow around the cul-de-sac and even issues like how water flows (into the home if any or how water flows out of the house) are also important. Similiarly, I also mentioned that things like the main entrance in relation to the cul-de-sac is equally important. Other factors include the facing direction of the home. This is determined using Flying Star Feng Shui to look at the period the house was built, born or had a major renovation. How suitable the house is to the bread winner. Thus one can see that it is actually too naive to place a YES/NO stamp on a home! There are many factors involved. Including the layout plan of the home. For example, simple things like whether the property slopes backward or toilet positions, living room dining room positions. The idea here is never have a pre-conceived idea or a premature view of any homes. Even commonsense Feng Shui prevails such as where is the afternoon sun (morning sun is important but less issue than the afternoon sun). Things like an exposed e.g. master bedroom wall that soaks up afternoon sun ain't too good etc... For Can or Cannot buy service, please visit:- http://www.geomancy.sg(replace .net with .sg) There is the floor plan review or email support@geomancy.net for an online quotation for onsite Can or cannot buy service. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  18. Dear Sophia, Yes, so far, I have seen many people who had placed a micro-wave next to the refridgerator and even opposite it. If one sees the productive cycle flow of the five elements, metal supports water, this is a productive cycle. Thus no issue. It is not like water destroys fire under the destructive cycle flow. Which is often considered not auspicious. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  19. Dear Anon, If we compare this plant's thorn's they are considered as "pussy-cat" thorns that are real soft and nothing quite like those of the cactus or rose etc... In terms of Feng Shui for a landed property; plants with thorns are actually quite common place especially at external wall windows or at corners of home to deter thieves from climbing into the home. Thus the thorns of the aloe vera seems so mild as it is part of the skin covering the white liquid gel contained within. In my opinion, pose no harm at all. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  20. Dear Linda, A search would reveal this article:- Posted in: Info :: Feng Shui Tips & Guidelines STICKY:: Part I - Facing direction of a home Posted on: Thu, 22 Apr 2004, 20:17 PM, Last You can also view the Part II - Facing direction of a homeunder the above conference link tohopefully, understandclearly what is meant by the facing direction of a home under the Flying Star Feng Shui method of calculation qi in a home. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  21. Dear Linda, For the purpose of applying Flying Star Feng Shui, one should consider "Where is the frontage or the mouth of the house is?" Thus often, in many circumstances the frontage is usually the location where there is a road leading towards our "frontage" of the home. And it is not influenced by where the main entrance is. For example, if the main entrance is not directly at the front of the house but at the side of the house, this may not be the frontage of the home. Under Flying Star Feng Shui, the frontage is like the "mouth" of a person where we take in "air/oxygen" and talk and not where the main entrance is. Previously, I had written clear information of what is the "Mouth" of the house. Try to do a search for two parts of this article in the forum to have a better understanding of what is meant by the mouth of the house and how to determine it. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  22. Dear Rose, If one is applying Ba Zi to look at how suitable a job is, then it depends on one's birth element and strength. Ba Zi will determine e.g. weak or strong earth Then with this information, it will come out with: Career associated with wealth Career associated with power and authority Careers that are suitable, but not leading to great wealth These are the guidlines that a ba zi analysis can provide on the above. Since no two person's ba zi are identical, it thus depends on one's element and strength: strong/weak : metal , water, wood, fire, earth element(s). Warmest Regards, Cecil
  23. Dear Anon, Your question reminds one of the state regulations in Singapore. Where, we are only allowed to display the national flag prior to national day and must take it down within a reasonable date after the national day is over e.g. 1 month, later. Unlike in the US, where one can display the a reasonably good condition flag all year round. In your question, it would certainly make or sense to celebrate Chinese New Year (CNY) with the decorations. But after 15 days or slightly longer, it would not make much sense to display the decorations -- other than some Chinese continue to hang a red banner "Ang chai" all year round above their door. Once CNY is over, it is best to take them down. And anticipate the arriving of the next CNY with jest! Warmest Regards, Cecil
  24. Dear Anon, Frankly, there is no hard-and-fast rule, here. So long as the object is still in good or reasonable condition, they can always be reused at another location. No issue. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  25. Dear Fenger, 1. The design of a company logo is based on the Five Elements concept. Reference: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-5element.htm 2. Number of colors for the logo: Ideally, based on the Five elements concept, the company logo should have three colors. This applies to the company signage, also Here, three means progress. While two (colors) represents stagnation 3. Often, if the business is in an industry; then the company logo should preferably be designed to suit the industry. But often, it started off by designing a logo that suits the "person" or partnership. 4. For example, when you mentioned that you are an earth element: one has to be specific: If one is a strong earth person, then a harmonious company logo can consists of: metal with water with wood If one is a weak earth person, then a harmonious company logo can consists of: fire -
