  1. Dear Gordy, Yes, I personally feel that your comments are appropriate. Try to see if anything can be done to remove the large tree trunk. The 50 metres distance is considered very close proximity plus since it is visible from your home, the best to see if it can be removed, ASAP. The other alternative is: "If it is if it cannot be seen, it is no longer a threat". Warmest Regards, Cecil
  2. Dear Ken, Please see below:- Glad that you are able to find your way aroundhttp://www.geomancy.net/wbimages/smiles/icon_smile.gif The second part, lists every since day in that month. On the actual day itself, one can see both the "English" dates with the Lunar dates shown. On this same "side" it will show the indication of the dates or whether the dates clash with the Tung Shu calendar. If so, there will be remarks like: "Qing Ming" or "Clash with the monkey year" etc... This portion is more related to the Tung Shui. While on the right, shows whether the day is auspicious or not for you. Frankly, from my opinion, the greater part has to do with the earth luck. Like you mentioned, weaing jewellery is a less attractive option both in terms of the "threat" of robbery or, becoming the odd one out. Imagine someone poking a pin on their tongue etc... Citrine jewellery, etc... I would think has more to do with cosmetic or decorative piece than helping us in any way. Under the Compass School of Feng Shui, there are only basically two principles or concepts: 1. Eight House / Four Good/Four bad directions 2. Flying star Feng Shui Many traditional Feng Shui practioners apply these theories: a. Shapes and Forms (this often preceeds the Eight House or Flying Star Feng Shui). For example, the recent TOP of Gardens @ Bishan. Please refer to the attachment. One will notice that I had placed an " X " onto the masterbed, denoting that it is inauspicious to sleep with the head so close to the toilet bowl. Thus, given this, either one has to place an extra cabinet at the bed head or move the bed onto the opposite wall. Therefore: By priority: 1. Shapes and Forms comes first, 2. Next, Eight House 3. Next, Flying Star (Both being the only Compass School Feng Shui are meant to be used on the home analysis). 4. Next, use ba zi Feng Shui e.g. harmonise the colour scheme to match one's element etc.. In general, Ba zi Feng Shui is meant more to be related to the frontage or facing direction of a home. For example, if the main door is facing NE, i.e. earth house, than it will benefit a person who is a weak metal person or a weak earth person. Frankly, it is difficult to place Ba Zi to coincide exactly with the Eight House or vice versa. For one, there is never such a good match. Don't blame me if one gets more white hair (afterwards) than the Prime Minister (PM) of Singapore. As all PM's will often grow white hair, after 10-15 years in office! Warmest Regards, Cecil
  3. Dear Joan, Frankly, it all boils down to "It depends". Or based on each situation. For those who had studied management principles, it is called " Situational approach". And this principle suggest that no two situations are alike. Thus, sometimes what we read, could be a general statement. Let us not forget that, as I had mentioned previously, more importantly, we should not only look at the four inner walls of a home but rather, the biggest influence is the environment. In many of my past messages, I had mentioned; that Shapes and Forms prevail: External vs internal, SWOT analysis i.e. S.W.O.T refers to Strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats to a specific location and unit. Perhaps, there are more "strengths and opportunities" - auspiciousness vs inauspiciousness in the home. And Feng Shui is a very complex issue both requiring much Science as well as art. The eight house is just one gig-saw puzzle out of the whole complex art and science of Feng Shui. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  4. Dear Heiddy, I can only say this "Life is short" so live it to the fullest. Frankly, reading too many books can: 1. bring fear or confusion 2. lead to auto-suggestion 3. worse still - self-fulfilling prophecy. I have actually elaborated on a simple example: 1. Many of us read books that say that our spirit wanders out of our body, sees itself in the mirror; and gets a shock! 2. But, wait! What happens if our spirit is the "extrovert" type. It wants to check itself in the mirror. If the hair is out of place, wants to comb, itself to look nice before, wandering off? 3. It is ridiculous senario to remove the TV set in the bedroom, if we have had it for most of our life! 4. So far, there are many people, who had recently moved house, or had for many years, placed a tv set in their bedrooms. We have yet, come across anyone, who died having a tv set facing the bed. *JOKE* Unless, perhaps, it is a very dirty old man who got excited watching a blue film and too weak to control his emotions! Perhaps, this is a one-off situation. 5. Many of the new tv sets, do not even have reflection e.g. LCD, liquid plasma etc.. 6. Actually, all these boils down to our individual sensitivity. Some of us are perhaps "too sensitive in our surroundings". While others, are simply "thicked skinned" and can sleep peacefully, with many mirrors; such as those placed on the wardrope facing the bed. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  5. Dear Christina, Please see below:- Yes, from a business perspective, this makes economic sense and being new, is equally attractive senario. There are 2 units Under Flying Star FS, the facing directions for NW1, NW2 and NW3 is particularly (good) proposition. While for SE sitting or facing is still pretty attractive. In my opinion, this unit may seem less attractive if (in particular, IF neighbouring roof-tops seems to slice or cut into the unit. But, this is correctable. In particular, as you have not mentioned how much "tinting" is on the windows, if the windows are well tinted, or looks like reflective glass from outside, this is often not a major issue. In particular, also, if one installs blinds within the area. Frankly, Feng Shui is no miracle cure. For example, in the past, I had mentioned that there many people who came knocking asking to Feng Shui their bubble tea business. Or those selling "Luohan" fish. I told them "don't waste my time". Singapore is such a tiny country. Even Geomany.net does not even look at Singapore, but rather, focus onto the world. For example, many years back, I was bothered about even taking any .com.sg domain names. Singapore is in-fact too tiny. And, in any business, or even IT, good business sense counts. "Cash burn" or buring cash, without much prospect for say a start-up, will be in for a hard time in Singapore. Apologies if I sound "discouring". Perhaps, do take it as a positive feedbackhttp://www.geomancy.net/wbimages/smiles/icon_smile.gif Wishing you and your friends, Properity! (But underling - idea is also to take care of Health, firsthttp://www.geomancy.net/wbimages/smiles/icon_smile.gif Warmest Regards, Cecil
  6. Dear All, Further to what I had mentioned, sometimes, it is better to depend on modern inventions, than Feng Shui. Sample sites like these, lists cleaners and other health related items that can take away some of the #2 or #5 type of issues. Instead of hanging six-coins, go for these:- http://www.aircleaners.com/ http://www.airdelights.com/hepa.html "To modern inventions and GOOD HEALTH!" Warmest Regards, Cecil
  7. Dear Christina, Yes, you "hit-on-the-nail!" Air circulation within a home is also one of the key success factors in Feng Shui. Based on your description, it truly makes sense to research more to see if - air-cleaners may be useful to you. Imagine, even a "Feng Shui" person like myself, turn on 3 Hepa air filters. Here, one has to be practical. Frankly, although, I do FS audits helping others located sickness stars like #5, #2, I do not have time to fall sick myself. Even since the three hepa cleaners are running as far back as three years ago, (in addition to the regular change of carbon filters etc..) I have not fallen sick, ever since! The morale of the story is, much of human invention, if one search carefully, could "replace" some of the so called Feng Shui principles. Warmest Regards, Cecil P.S. There are reasonable priced good quality air cleaners from pioneers like Honeywell or Amcor. For the honeywell one, they come in various capacities. And a single unit can easily circulate air - efficiently within a room. And the best part, even those prone to asmathic attacks in my opinion, could beneifit from having them. But a very promising one is by Sharp, Japan, with their ioniser series. I read that there was some "claim" that it could even destroy the "SARs" infection. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  8. Dear Anon, Please see below:- There is only 2 bad wood #3. Given that there ia a #5 (strong earth), the two bad wood is not as bad since, under the destructive cycle, it will help to neutralise the bad earth #5. If one goes thru the destructive cycle, wood destroys earth. For example, the roots of a tree (wood) goes into the earth to "crush" it. It would not be a good idea to introduce Fire under the above senario as fire would further inflame the bad earth. For example, under the productive cycle, Fire fuels earth element. Given that there is a bad #7, this is not too bad considering:- TWO of the bad #3 sets out to neutralise #5. And the #3 is also used to "control" metal #7. For example, under the destructive cycle, Metal destroys wood. Here, both of them will get exhausted. Therefore, in my opinion, there is no need to do anything at this sector. Since, it is quite balanced because of the interaction of all three elements #3 x 2 with #5 with #7 It is good to leave this sector alone. Water is very benefical, here since there is not one #6 but two #6. Since #6 is strong metal, a water position is favourable at this sector. (Under the productive cycle of the Five elements concept: Metal fuels water -> a water wealth component. With an annual #7, clear space would be good. A small water feature can be used, here. We have to see what type of bad earth is at this sector. For example, if the sector has bad earth #5 or multiples of it, than, it would be good to introduce constant metal. As you had mentioned, a wind chime may "look odd" since, in an enclosed space, it does not chime. A better bet is a smaller chiming hanging clock not necessarily as big as a grandfather clock, would be the better solution. For this year, one do not need to worry as much with the #5, since this annual #5 is at the centrepoint. And it is basically locked at the centre-area. Not much effect. Another rationale is that for Period 8 homes, the middle base star is #8. And since #8 is considered very auspicious under this period (Period 8), it is in my opinion, good enough to neutralise the #5 within this sector. Using a wind chime or chiming clock to neutralise #5 would also neutralise #8. - A lose-lose situation. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  9. Dear Frank, It is best to look at Geomancy, Feng Shui and Chinese divinity methods from the "Holy Trinity" method. Here, once we have a good understanding of: 1. Heaven Luck 2. Earth Luck 3. Man /Human Luck than, one can fit any of the Geomancy/FS/Chinese divinity methods under one of the above components. Here, the Chinese equivalent is on the third item i.e. Man/Human Luck arena. This is why, items has become so commercialised that instead of becoming merely decorative items, they spell out some mystic or packaged into things that seems to appeal to our greed e.g. the purchase of three-legged toad figurines etc... Like you had mentioned, the core success factors also has to do with family, family bonding, a good spiritual outlook etc... Here, this transends over any material goods. Earth luck is different. Because, it is said that where we live or work would greatly influence our earth luck. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  10. Dear Janice, You did a good job determining the centerpoint. The attachment, shows that it is very close to what I had plotted. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  11. Dear Hoa, As mentioned, in the earlier message, it is best to provide the # numbers. For a fire cure, often, check to see if a sector has good natural lighting. This is the best solution. If not, check to see if the location does not have too much "dark" coloured items and the walls are kept bright. Or alternatively, is the lighting sufficient at this sector. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  12. Dear Hoa, Appreciate if you can include the actual MS # , WS # and base # with the Year #. This would help further understand the precise situation. Since there is often a difference in the mix of #5 or #2 vs other stars and whether in this equation is there a #9. Since #9 with #5 is a potent combination where #9 fire further fuels #5 bad earth etc... Warmest Regards, Cecil
  13. Dear Janice, Please see below:- Yes, this is often good enough to fly to the next period. But we need to understand that at such an early stage i.e. where Period 7 has just slowly wane-down and Period 8 is still "climbing", it may still take at least up to 2005 to see an effect of such a change. Yes, your current strategy is considered sound, since I believe, this is what most practitioners would advise their clients to do (less the idea of having to do a major renovation). Warmest Regards, Cecil
  14. Dear Anne, Often, in such a case, there are various options: 1. To check for any external threats to the main door, and all round windows of the home for any visible threats. Such as a lone lamp-post slicing into the home etc.. 2. Fix-any-leaks If the home has leaks, it is best to fix any OTHER leaks in a home. 3. Enhancements Try to use the Eight House / Flying Star to improve on the interior of the home in relation to good Shapes and Forms. (If this sounds GREEK, than, one may need professional help. Otherwise, one could D.I.Y.). I have previously mentioned that Feng Shui is much like one taking a comprehension examination. For example, if one is is required to answer all 4 compulsory questions, one must do so. It is not a good idea to answer only 3 questions and skip the last question. Here, more importantly, we should try to maximize all sectors of our home. For example, under the "Fix-the-leak" concept: it is no point pathing a sector of a home in gold, if there is a leak else where! One's ship will still sink! eventually! Warmest Regards, Cecil
  15. Dear Anon, Frankly, there is no harm in doing so. Whether it works or not is another issue. As for painting the interior side of the door, perhaps can be quite ugly. For the mirror on the outside door, this seems better than the "red interior door colour". Warmest Regards, Cecil
  16. Dear Kian Watt, For the Feng Shui ruler, the upper markings are for Yang Feng Shui or Feng Shui for the living. The lower markings or the second level or on some rulers the bottom readings are for the dead (Yin Feng Shui). Frankly, there is often no issue with the need for an exact dimension for a painting. More importantly, if it looks nice and appeals to our "man-luck-factor" or "feel good factor, this will be good enough! Resource: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-ruler.htm Warmest Regards, Cecil
  17. Dear Anon, In my opinion, this is not a major issue (as compared to/vs) the Tai Sui or Grand Duke. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  18. Dear Joan, The clue here is that both Eight House and Flying Star Feng Shui are compass school Feng Shui - specific to a home/location. Thus, between Eight House vs Ba Zi, it is often, better to consider more from a Eight House point of view, than the ba zi. However, if one uses the Ba Zi point of view, than, one should consider it in general i.e. the main entrance. For example, what is one's element and strength? If say one is a strong water person. Than, a south facing house is considered auspicious e.g. Strong Water destroys Fire (south). Thus is considered a good home for the breadwinner. Thus, when we use the ba zi analysis, do try to see if one is weak or strong vs that facing direction. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  19. Dear Raluka, 1. Frankly, I would not say that this is an "untold" secret. This is because there are varied interpretations as to the exact floor level. For example, you mentioned 1 to 5. While other practititoners may consider 6 to 8 or 9 floors. 2. Usually, the major consensus amongst practitioners is the term " the most light " coming into the apartment. 3. Here, often, if one has already stayed into a specific home for some time, some practitioners instead of "arguing" about this "untold" secret may instead draw TWO charts to compare which is more accurate. Here, action speaks louder than words. And this is a more productive way to "trouble-shoot" issues if any. 4. Often a seasoned practitioner would make an assessment based on his/her personal judgements vs this "untold" secret especially for a new apartment. 5. In fact, some practitioners simply look at the facing of the entire building as use this as the facing direction. 6. Therefore, it looks like there can be many "untold" secrets. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  20. Dear Keith, Yes, in both your questions, it is best to:- Step 1: Take care of the bad numbers of each sector of the room. After doing so, than, use the Eight House. If the sector is not favourable, than, the only other option under this concept is to face a good direction i.e. in particular the Prosperity or Excellent direction. The next two facing directions are Health and Longevity. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  21. Dear Mike, Frankly, in my opinion, don't be overly worried about this. This is because "our life is what we want to make of it!" In my opinion, the danger with reading too much of this can lead into two unhealthy situations: 1. Auto-suggestion If we tell a sheep it is "stupid" - it does not understand and will not be affected by our statement. But if we were to for example constantly tell a child i.e. he /she is really stupid, in time, the child may feel inferior and have such social issues. 2. Self-fulfilling prophercy If we do constantly think and act that way, it will indeed come true. Since we are on this earth for such a short-time, we should try to make the best use of our time, here. What better way to have a rewarding life http://www.geomancy.net/wbimages/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif Warmest Regards, Cecil
  22. Dear Sean, Frankly, although many of us would like to feel that we had consulted someone to give us advise on what type of fish to rear. But ultimately, often based on man-factors, it is much better for us to appreciate what fish we personally would like to rear. This is because, often, if we notice carefully, many who rear fish as a hobby - will last longer than those "told" to rear fishes. Perhaps, this is why, hobbists enjoy more, and appreciate more of fishes. And this has to do also with an element of man-luck factors. Rather than forced to do so. Warmest Regards, Cecil I also read Regards, Sean
  23. Dear Emily, 1. Is this home stayed-in for sometime already? Yes/No? 2. If Yes, 2.1 and if one has stayed in this house for a few years e.g. 2 or more years, than, it is best to draw TWO flying star charts: Chart 1 : facing direction - the balcony. Chart 2: facing direction - the whole stretch of the living room. 2.2 Try to check out each sector and in-particular the bedroom sectors to see if the flying star chart matches your current experience you have in your home. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  24. Dear Liam, Please see attachment. Both Options 1 and 2 are equally acceptable. If raised lettering is required than go for Option 1. Angle need not be exact but rather, it should look "natural" and pleasing to the eye i.e. not raised too high. Where possible follow close to a 30 to 45 degree gradient will do. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  25. Dear Alice, Yes, since #8 is considered as the water wealth position (under Period 8), and since there is a #8 at NE. And this COINCIDES with location like the living room, one can still activate a water feature at this sector. This is suppose to bring monetary wealth. And at mountain #8 plus the future wealth sector i.e. #9(and one can still activate a mountain star at this sector. This is suppose to activate the health luck or relationship luck.) For the year. Next year, however, this changes to another sector. Warmest Regards, Cecil
