Chinese Astrology, frankly (in my opinion) is too simplistic as many take into account only the YEAR of birth. Posters are man-made. Dear Anon, 1. Try to do a SEARCH in this forum for " World Trade " - as I had posted something about it earlier. Avoid using " Centre " or " Center " as I often use the British form of Centre instead of the American form of Center. I believe for most of those who died at the world trade centre, many perish with the aviation fuel/flame. In most part, the World Trade Centre tragedy is mostly of cremation or nearly everyone perish - ashes to ashes. I strongly believe for sometime; at least, or a section of the site could become a memorial. If it falls more into a room especially a bedroom than the second bedroom; then, often I set of cure is necessary. Especially if the other room is say the wardrope area. 3. But if the stars are pretty bad. For example, if the house is a Period 7 house; and the second bedroom is sandwiched between say East (often bad stars here) and South (sometimes bad stars); then the most productive is to paint say this room white (metal). Under the higher form i.e. Yin and Yang, balance is equally important. 4. Even in our daily lives, balance is good. 5. Thus it does not necessarily mean that placing dozens of six coins would mean that it is good. It can instead become an `over-kill'. 6. When determining e.g. a `cure' under Flying Star Feng Shui, we need to look at the strength or balance at a specific sector. Often, we need only 1 set of six coins at a specific sector. 7. If the situation demands another stronger cure, than it is better to use the next best alternative. 8. For example if it has been determined that 1 set of six coins is not enough, for example: at a specific sector there are just too many #5 x 3, then another cure should instead be used such as a pendulum clock or salt water in glass jar. Other information: 2.1 Often, since a bedroom is (more for rest), it is overall considered a yin location. And it would be better that bedroom lights should be balanced with more yang. 2.1.1 Yang is represented by 1, 3, 5 and 7 or odd numbers. 2.1.2 Thus since a bedroom is more yin, it would be better at the ceiling to use lights either 1 e.g. circular at the centre of the room or if one has cornice: lights as 3, 5 or 7. Often in an average Housing Board (public housing flat) 7 lights is already quite adequate. 3. Often, a crystal set of lights is more favoured in a living room as it's dispersion of light or perceived dispersion of light can sometimes to some of us create a more yang environment that could `unconsciously' threated our security or rest. But, often, this has more to do with one's tolerance than anything else. (Please see Para 4 illustration). 4. Sometimes, we hear of people removing TV sets from their bedrooms - because the heard that it was `bad' Feng Shui. The most common `excuse' here is that when we sleep, our spirit leaves our body; and may get a shock seeing itself in the mirror. But look at it from a different angle: But what IF? the spirit, is immune to the mirror and `loves' it. Since the sector already has 7 x 2 (small metal); followed by a #2 (sickness), then one set of 6 coins would be appropriate at the specific sector. Please try to determine exactly where the North is? The door closes to this North --- the six coins placed here. Do try to check whether NE or SW has also any other #2 or #5 within these sectors. If so, and if your other doors falls close to it, and IF these sectors e.g. NE and SW are equally out of balance especially if there are further #2 with any other #5 or #3 or #4 then these sectors are candidate for additional six coins each PROVIDED:- 1. Dear Anon, In pratical Feng Shui, practical because many of us do not personally design or develop the house ourselves. In traditional Feng Shui, there are lots of houses which follow this strictly. For example, in many of the old houses (and even in Singapore) we can see toilets at North and a Ba Gua shaped balcony at the south (with a pointed roof). However, since many of us cannot simply with our wimps and fancy change the placement of a toilet bowl and even the shower/entire toilet. Given this situation, it is preferred that the toilet (at least) shares one external wall. Here, it means that the toilet is no longer at the centrepoint of the house. What is equally worse-off is the toilet next to the main door. Otherwise, usually, a toilet at South, not ideal but can still be liveable - especially if the house has good shapes and forms both external and internal. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Please refer to the attached graphic file ne.gig 5.1 In the past, most houses or landed property are of a single level or often occupy one floor. 5.2 Here it is preferred that the main door is located at NE. Since, usually, this opens to the living room area, the rest of the areas such as SW, W and NW are often the location of the bedrooms. Thus for a single storey house, one can take advange of e.g. main door at NE and locate the bedroom behind the house say at SW. In fact, what is more important is `Qi' or qi flow in the surrounding and around the home. Here, pools of water even if they are quite a distance away, often at the `back' can be considered favourable. 3. Depending on the layout of the house, sometimes the possibility could be that: 3.1 To take advantage of (if the creek view) is better, the `facing' or frontage of the house can be oriented to face it. 3.2 Or simply creating a patio or garden facing the creek is another consideration. It would be better if you can attach a simple sketch of your house vs the creek. As there is a difference in the outline of the creek, its current flow vis-a-vis the house. Dear Michele, In Feng Shui, it is not favoured to have too many pipes running below the house for two main reasons:- 1. Having too much water or `water running' especially at the floor area is not ideal. As water is considered `difficulty'. 2. This point has to do more with commonsense approach:- `Wear and Tear' - since pipes often expand and contract, there are often known cases of some of these pipes that perhaps due to poor quality control or wear and tear. I heard of some homes (not sure if they are true) that often have leaks. In fact, in the past, one or two of the members had mentioned this. Para 1, has more to do with 2. If the pipes do not leak or water condense outside these pipes, then there is relatively no issue. Honestly, I am not too familiar with the mechanics or installation of such piping. Dear Michele, 1. Usually, there is no issue if the collection cistern is in the form of a tap. 2. It should be treated as just any other pipes. 3. But more importantly, it should not be located at the centrepoint of your landed property. Nor allow it to criss cross underneath the house. For a landed property, it is equally important that the sewerage pipes (where possible) run at the back of the house and out of the house. Dear Ken, Please see below:- The main purpose of Feng Shui is to deflect beneificial qi (or air movement) to allow it to meander and circulate within the house. Often a Shapes and Form practitioner will `mentally' look at this flow. And it would be good that such qi or air can slower meander within or circulate within the confines of corners especially in the living dining (since most houses have both `connected' together). It is an advantage that qi can (especially) if a partition added, help to `move' qi thru the centre flux towards other rooms (for a rectangular layout) and vice versa. The best solution therefore is: 1. To use a screen or partition which should preferably cover at least up to the door height or higher towards the ceiling. 2. It has to be `air-tight' and not pigeon holes that allow air to leak. 3. This partition should not have a shoe rack store at it's base. 4. It should preferably be of an auspicious dimension proportionate to the size of the living room. 5. It should be position such that it can `properly' subdivide say the living room into a distinct rectangle and if the dining room is also in this area, both the living and dining room; after the placement of the partition - can be seen as two distinct rectangles. Since the rectange shape is particularly good for an `L' shaped living cum dining room. CAUTION: 6. Avoid placing the partition too close to the main door. If so, it is symbolic of having a `burden' or a mountain at the main entrance area. Where one just enters the house, `hits one's head' against a wall. 7. Avoid half a screen where when one enters thru the main door, half side is a screen, the other half is a void. If such a partition is used, and if the partition is within 1 metre (approximately 3 feet) of the door, it should preferably be full width as the door. 8. In such a situation, it is preferred that part of the upper half is made of glass, to allow light (or light qi or natural light) to flow thru it. Else often because of the partition, the main door / entrance area can become too dark. 6. The last resort is to close the side of the window / balcony sliding door so that qi cannot flow directly out of the main door. But here, there is still some leak or a factor of -5 to -10 negative marks for the house/apartment Feng Shui. Thus if say the overall house Feng Shui marks is 58 marks out of 100, deduct say 10 marks and the house Feng Shui now becomes 48 marks or a failing mark. This type of leak combined with other leaks in the house can contribute to finance leak. At the best is - often one cannot save a single cent to always having negative cash flow. Anything else, even the use of a symbolic hulu or bottle gourd is often considered as a sugar coated pill remedy. This `sugar coated' pill remedy is what I often call "Man Luck" or "Human Luck" - "Feng Shui". To make the person feel good that's all that the leak is supposely fixed. But, come 6 months or 1 year later, if one finds no result, it is like the concept of `Tom' robbing `Dic' to pay `Paul'. Often, if one reads messages in a forum, by such Man Luck practitioners, one thus often hear of messages posted: " I tried what you had asked e.g. buying gold for my wealth corner" but did not work? Have I done it right? And often, the Man Luck practitione will take advantage of this situation and say, please contact me or make an appointment for me to do another audit for you. We can often use `Man Luck' as an excuse, some of the time, but, this is not the correct approach. It is "nice-to-have" a sleeping position that faces West. But if one cannot do so, than, try to see if we are sleeping in one of our auspicious sectors. If this is not possible, then don't try to squeeze out anymore of the Eight House Theory. It is meant to let us have a flavour. (Full Stop). This is why I often, request new users to know the Purpose of each concept, their strengths and weakness. Let us not ponder over something which it is near impossible to change. If one owns or even lease this house for some period, the only RESORT in applying this theory is to move out. Impossible to do so? Then, (Full Stop with the Eight House). Try to bring up our luck in other areas. For example, try to harmonize the room or house colours to our ba zi and each family member's ba zi. Let's not cry over it. This is often our Key failure. We can hope and dream. For example even if say two person who seems incompatible e.g. Strong Water vs Strong Water, there is always a binding element can help bind both. In the above example, the binding element for a Strong Water vs Strong Water person is = wood. 3. Therefore, when doing renovations especially in the couple's bedroom, the binding element is wood (brown or green). 4. There is a free report under http://www.geomancy-online.com known as " Comparison Report. This report can help find the binding element based on examples such as the above. 5. In fact, what is mentioned and many, many other concerns we have today is infact thought out by our forefathers. 6. The destructive cycle results in what is also known as "wealth production" 6.1 Some clashes, can alternatively result in wealth. 6.2 For example, a Strong Water's person's wealth is Fire element (especially if the partner is a Strong Fire. 6.3 Although this looks like a `bad clash' but under the Five Elements concept, for example, a husband who is a Strong Water has a wife that is his wealth element (fire). And good for his career. 7. Under Ba Zi, there is what is known as a double and triple combination `clash'. 7.1 Some of these clashes are very favourable. For example, a person could have been considered a weak water person: 7.2 And in his ba zi chart, he has favourable "clashes". For example, his chart has some heavenly and earthly branch that can help his `weak water' example his chart has earth that produces metal that aids his weak water. 7.3 In this very rough analysis, because of this combination, instead of being a weak water, he now becomes a Strong Water person. 7.4 Being strong, allowed him to take advantage of `fire' element which is his wealth element. 8. Given this rough example, I hope one can better understand that like Yin and Yang, clashes can be good or bad. 9. In fact, many of the questions that we modern humans have asked, has been explored deeply by the ancient Chinese. 10. Dear Stan, Frankly, too many ba gua mirror is an overkill. As mentioned in the earlier e-mail, sometimes, many of us like to hear `nice' things. Often, these are more of Ren Cai or man or human luck. It may make us feel good (perhaps a short while) but when it does not work - who do we blame? This is why, many Feng Shui practitioners are often act more like `counsellors' than Feng Shui practitioners. Often, this is a psychological thing. For example, often after every of my audit, the client (Chinese) would ask : where is my `wealth corner'. I can understand that it would certainly make one feel nice to have such a corner or that such a corner existed. And some practitioners even go so far as advise their clients to place e.g. coins or daily place coins at `X' marks the spot. For the truly rich, they don't have time to do this. Furthermore, for the rich, every since inch of their house is lavishly decorated either quality furniture or selected decorative pieces. And even their bathroom accessories may be gold / gold plated.
