Dear Miriam, Traditionally, the `proven' method is the use of 6 ancient Chinese coins with square holes at the centre. Sometimes, (modern) we try or tested using local one dollar coins e.g. with a ba gua (Pa Kua) outline on it and that is has a percentage of nickel / bronze making it golden in colour much like the ancient Chinese coin colour. Try to find coins that are not `silver' in colour but golden in colour. Frankly, I am not too sure if the coins you mention works but, if you really cannot find the ancient Chinese coins, then you may try your own currency. Locally, I seen shops selling these `ancient' Chinese coins for less than US$1 per piece. Some shops were selling it for S 0.50 cents or close to US 0.35 cents a piece. Dear Anon, Usually, if there is a gap between the two buildings, there would be as you had mentioned there can be Sha Qi. However, as your description is not too clear, I can't really provide advise:- 1. When u mentioned your relative's house, is it a landed property? Or an apartment with window or gap in the master bedroom or main door entrance or otherwise? 2. When you mentioned a gap of 50cm of two near by buidings, currently cannot visualise what are their position in relation to your relative's home. Perhaps, you can provide a sketch to this. 3. And there were (are) untold number of such books describing our characters and compatibiliy. 4.3 This is similar with Chinese Astrology books (by the dozen) that show us e.g. born as a `Rat', `Horse' etc... 4.4 Some of us may pick up a book or read on the website, that e.g. a Rat is a Horse's "enemy" etc... The DANGER here is auto suggestion. Or should there be a quarrel, we sometimes ponder? Are we in a right relationship? 4.5. Therefore the power of auto suggestion may be detrimental if - we were told that we are " totally " incompatible. 4.6. However, if what our astrology signs says is true or we may perhaps unconsciously act out the part. Dear Anon, Please see below:- Feng Shui is all about maximizing one's luck. If one use it correctly or use a combination of the various tools / principles / concepts correctly, it would help to boost luck in majority of areas. Thus, reducing the percentage of `inauspiciousness' at the main door. Although a house has to fit the owners /breadwinner/tenant, if one has already stayed in it or made a commitment in it already, there is not much one can do here but as mentioned in the earlier paragrah to try and maximize luck in other areas. In authentic Feng Shui, there are two ways about placing a water feature outside of the house:- 1.1 Under the conference: Photo Tours of Interest (with Pictures), you can find many examples and some very recent on the placement of a water position in a landed property " to trap" wealth before it flows to neighbours. 1.2 In general, if one stand outside one's house (looking at it) and if one's house slopes e.g. a slope (gentle or gradient) to say the left side, then, besides other consideration, one can add a water feature to `trap' wealth before it flows out of the house. 1.3 For a water position, if it is outside the house, it is still ok for a person with weak fire element (where water may inadvertenly extinguish) the fire or for a strong water person. 1.4 In Compass School of Feng Shui, the Flying Star Feng Shui is used to locate sectors with `water stars'. A good example is this current period: Period 7. For example, if a house has #7 (mountain star) #7 (water star) with a base #1 then, it would be advantages for this sector to have a water feature. This is because #7 x 2 are of the `small metal' element. Dear Susan, Frankly, looking at one `idea' in Feng Shui or using it to audit a house may not provide the full picture. In your case, try to apply: 1. Shapes and Forms 2. Compass Schools: e.g. Eight House - not only the main door but bedrooms for each family members. Under Feng Shui, there are considerations like e.g. the compass direction of the location to consider. 3 Here, this is usually referenced with the flying star influence of a specific sector. For example, if the ktichen so happens to have bad wood #4 with say additional #1 watercoupled with the location of the kitchen at the north. Dear Susan, For a stove, it is equally inauspicious if a water pipe runs directly (below) the stove especially if it is as close as 6 inches. In such a situation, it is best to divert the water pipe away from the stove so that it does not directly cross path with the stove. Where possible, the water pipe you mentioned should be `hidden' from view of the stove especially if this sector is the North of the house. If the location of the kitchen is at the South of the house i.e. standing at the centre and the kitchen is at the south, there is no issue with it facing the washing machine. Frankly, with regards to the washing machine, this is quite new to Feng Shui, and in my opinion, there are so far no conclusive results to say whether it is or is not inauspicious to have it face the stove. Dear Jen, It is best to go for clay coloured roof tiles or even red/maroon. There was once, a client who used to have clay coloured roof tiles. Because of the numerous leaves that had fallen on the roof, and algae growth on it, the roof `turned' greenish. Fortunately, this house `looks like a crab' or has a profile of a crab. The owners became very successfully and prospherous. However, the owners subsequently got the roof cleaned and things was not the same again. The green algae grown is akin or symbollic of `wealth accumulation'. Overall, locally and overseas, it is common to find green roof tiles especially for temples. For a house tht has e.g. blue or grey roofs; blue or grey actually represents the water element; and if the owner truly does not want to change the colour of the tiles, then, it is best to paint the external walls of entire house or maintain the external walls to white colour. In this aspect, the Compass School Feng Shui consists of both Eight House and Flying Star Feng Shui. 3. Usually, when applying Feng Shui, as mentioned earlier, both Shapes and Forms and the two compass schools i.e. Eight House and Flying Star Feng Shui is used. And usually and for practical reasons, how suitable the hosue is to a person (in general) should be based on e.g. the Eight House. 4. After having covered all the above points of consideration under Feng Shui i.e. Shapes and Forms and Compass School; we often then use Ba Zi for the interior of the home. 5. Therefore, a practical approach is: 5.1 Do a Feng Shui audit based on the above two known compass schools. Next, apply personal Ba Zi e.g. apply the Ba Zi binding element of both partners for e.g. their bedroom / living / dining room area. Dear Anon, 1. Thank you for the description of the condo. 2. Your situation seems rather unique. 3. Frankly, there is no current reference to your situation i.e. whether it is good or bad Feng Shui to have an interior that is distinctively sloping. 4. The only parallel to your situation is that some Feng Shui practitioners have advised their clients to get their contractor doing the flooring to gently slope the floor in the living room i.e. from from the main door down towards the middle of the room. This is not obvious to the household. 5. The purpose is literally, with the hope to `catch' wealth. 6. In my opinion, this is just an idea and from past observations e.g. of houses been advised to do so, there is really no distinct advantage nor disadvantage for this. 7. Therefore, in your case, if the slope is minimal, to me, it seems OK. 8. Overall, (if you can) try to check out how well the past owners (tenants) were doing when they stayed in the house. However, if there are situations where there may be a problem, then, one may have to reference it in relation to the birth chart of the house e.g. house built or major renovation done during that period. A company dealing with metal is considered as under the Metal element. Metal colour is considered as gold or white. As metal element goes well with water element, this company makes full use of the two elements: Metal : circle, white Water : blue and black. Did you manage to find all four of the items mentioned above? In this picture? In the picture, did you manage to see:- a. blue colour? (clue: the company logo) b. circle? (clue: the company logo is circular) c. black? (clue: the wordings of the company is in black) d. white? (clue: the background colour of the signage is in white). Under the five elements concept, water and metal are harmonous elements under the productive cycle.

These photos of Gateway building was taken from an office located in one of Suntec City Tower building office. Sorry for the poor pictures as these pictures were taken thru the window of Suntec City tower office. The earlier pictures in the first forum message was taken from the `front-paranomic picturs' of the building. While this set of pictures are considered as the `back' part of the building. In my opinion, some cases, there were some people who belief that some of the units were `haunted'. From my personal experience, some businesses did not do well there. In the past, there was also an Apple authorised retailer called Tricom Pacific which had occupied the ground floor of the East wing... it folded shortly afterwards... P.S. These three pictures were taken by me 5 years ago. I never published them until today. Again apologise for the poor quality as the digital camera I had used was an `old' Sony one - good enough at that time, but not now.

Dear Sio Cheng, 1. It is not advisable to place a fish tank in a bedroom based usually on `commonsense approach' be it Feng Shui or otherwise: 1. As a bedroom is usually suppose to be a place of rest or `yin location'. 2. The other situation is that if the bedroom is not well ventilated, a medium sized fish tank may need e.g. weekly cleaning or maintenance - depending on the type of food given to the fish -- where the fish tank may need to be cleaned. Since you are only placing a small fish tank, perhaps, more like a bowl, there should not be much of a problem. If it is well maintained - clean and not much `fishy' smell coming from it. Dear Anon, Based on what you had mentioned, the newly insatlled lamp post does not seem to be a threat. A threat is where, if one stands at the window or door and looks outwards directly ... and if it slices into the house, this may be a problem for those staying there. Usually, if there is a `leak' in the house, it may not necessarily come from the `L' shape house. As `L' shaped houses need not necessarily be affected in this way.
