  5. Dear Bless, Please see below:- In my opinion, you do not have to do anything about it. The main thing to remember is to avoid making that sector too yin or create a too yin an environment especially, e.g. having a large tree at that location etc... If it is on a hill, there should not be any impact as it is not on the same level as your window thus it will not `slice' thru the window of your house. Under the concept called `Penmanship peak', it is good to have such a tall thin structure on the right side of the window. Yes, it is good for a child to occupy such a room with the study table at the window and this tall thin structure to it's right. It is particuarly good especially if the child has the wood element. Usually, the curtains will be ok. But if you open the main door most of the time, see if you can just close one side of the window. It depends on the layout of the kitchen. Where best, it is said that the stove should face inwards (from the main entrance door). More importantly, the stove should be against a solid wall and kept a distance (with an island) from the water position. If the kitchen happens to be at the North, avoid, having it face the water position. As North represents water and the `fire' can easily be extinguished.   6. Dear Anon, Ideally, it is best to look at the layout chart i.e. if the outside wall is parallel to the inside wall and on the same `line' or sector, it is better to place it at the outside wall. But if the outside wall comes close to other sectors, then it is best to place it inside the toilet. If it is placed in the toilet, check the condition of the coins regularly. Some Feng Shui practitioners in the Southern Hemisphere has mentioned to do so, but so far, there is no concrete proof to do so. 3. It is best to use the same model for both the North and South.   11. Dear Anon, This can be a subjective issue: Do we consider symbolism or mass? 1. Under Symbolism, 6 coins represent Big metal or the largest metal element available. 2. If one consider `mass', as in your 5 inch high statute, it does certainly have mass. If you already have such an object, then, avoid adding the 6 coins. 3. "Strange" as it is, Small metal is represented by the number 7. Thus 7 coins represent Small metal. Here, one will notice that it does not matter if there are less coins: 1 coin fewer for `Big Metal' as compared to `Small metal'. 4. Usually, the problem faced is to cure or neutralise with 6 coins and seldom if ever,we use the 7 coins which is less effective. 5. Thus the traditional approach is to use only 6 coins. If now, you mentioned that you have a 5 inch copper statue and `question' whether it can subsitute for the 6 coins, you have to personally decide for yourself as this is not tradtional practise. If I am in your shoes, I will personally place the 6 coins and keep my 5inch copper statute as the 6 coins is `proven'. This new `cure' is not. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  13. Dear Anon, 1. Most of us are familar with Flying Star Feng Shui. If there is an imbalance, we can try to neutralise it. Here, the sector of the house `wears' an element to neutralise a sector. 2. Each of us also need a balance in our elements. This is why Pillars of Destiny or Ba Zhi is used to break down all our elements and find out our birth element and its strength. What do `wearing' our favourable element means? Here, I have given an example where, when a child is born, a geomancer is consulted. For example, I have mentioned that when my grandfather, consulted a geomancer, my elder brother was found to lack `water'. Thus his name has a character of "water" in it i.e. First Name, Second Name and Last Name : `Shui' or water. If one look at it closely, it does imply that he wears his name around. Literally, in some organisations e.g. when we had to perform National Service in the army, he literally has to wear a name tag. Under the equivalent level, many people have taken advantage of wearing clothings to enhance themselves. Why clothings? Clothings is a good choice because it covers a large part of our body and thus, is more likely to work. As it is capable of covering 33.3 percent of the area of the body. Warmest Regards, Cecil

We like to emphaise that our main aim is to help users to either fine tune or help elaborate and clear their minds. We do not analyse `raw materials' provided to us. Such as giving us birth dates and expecting us to do all the work. There are available tools for this.   15. Dear Al, Please see below:- Please note that Eight House cannot be used as a cure as the Eight house does not relate to the Five Elements Concept. There need not necessary be a cure for devil's gate. As mentioned earlier, the Eight House cannot be used to implement changes or `cure' imbalances. Although you have mentioned the #2 and #5 as base numbers, I have also mentioned that #2 and #5 relating to water and mountain star has to be considered. And this has to be analysed in relation to each other. Without, the full picture, and what are the imbalances at each sector, I am really unable to properly advise you. It is not advisable to use Gua (Kua numbers) / Eight House to come up with a solution. Neither is it advisable to use " 6 bells, 6 rod metal chime, bagua outside. Warmest Regards, Cecil

If you have a layout plan, you can upload and I can help you find the centrepoint of the first level. If the second floor is above, the garage and is a living space, then this should be included.   18. Dear Carina, It is advisable not to hang a mirror facing the main entrance. But this can still be done, especially if one has done a full Feng Shui audit. Usually, pictures e.g. nice paintings or calligraphy are acceptable. If your neighbour is a Chinese, it is advisable not to hang a Ba Gua mirror or even the shape of it. As this may trigger a Ba Gua `war'. A Ba Gua `war' is a lose-lose situation. Nobody wins. I recounted, a situation, where I noticed one neighbour placed a ba gua mirror on their main door. The neighbour had no choice but to place a convex Ba Gua mirror to reflect back. No one wins here. Although you quite rightly mentioned that the profile of the Ba gua mirror plate is acceptable but if it does trigger a `war', this is no good.   19. Dear Carrie, 1. I am not sure if you have tried the method under http://www.geomancy.net/fs/cecilcompass.htm It is easier to use an ordinary compass. 2. All you need to do is to determine the direction of the main entrance door with reference to the centrepoint. 3. If one has purchased a Chinese Luo Pan, one would have seen that the needle is small and `difficult' to read properly the exact compass direction. Here, one should use a large compass i.e. not hand held but big ones placed on a floor for greater accuracy. 4. The best method is to use the Surveyor's method as highlighed under the above URL mentioned. 5.   20. Dear Anon, 1. I can understand the problem faced in renting an apartment. 2. As the Flying Star theory is based on the condition of finding the birth chart of the house. Or if there is a major renovation. This changes the date of birth of the house. 3. As for your question on using the date of moving. This does not change the birthdate of the home. Thus, one should not use the above information. As the Flying Star is based on 20 year periods, e.g. 1984 to 2003, it is `less' of a problem for those who rent a place built in a specific period i.e. one does not need to know or (care) if the house was built in 1985 or 1986. 4. It is difficult to change the theory to suit a person. As the key essence here is to find the birth chart of the house. The saying goes "garbage in (wrong input), garbage out (wrong output). Under the Flying Star Feng Shui priority should go to neutralising any imbalances. 3. A mountain star should be activated with a solid wall behind.   22. Dear Anon, Actually, there are 8 sectors + the centre sector = Nine sectors. This represents the 9 Grids or the Flying Stars with base numbers of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9. Here, it is the movement of these 9 numbers within each period where Flying Star `handles'. One should thus not be confused with the 24 mountains or (mountains = directions) where one must find the direction of the door first.
