  1. Dear Anon, I understand that this is recommended by some practitioners i.e. the use of salt water with 6 coins. What is the rationale of using Red string with 6 coins and not 6 coins with water:- Metal in Water, will result in Metal being absorbed to create water, ending up losing the Metal as a controlling element. And the strengthened Water is not really going to be effective in (controlling) by controlling Fire, because the Strong Earth #2 & #5 is not at all being controlled. Red String helps to control 6 coins, because 6 is already strong plus being metal themselves, so need a little control, it will not affect or activate the Earth, simply because there is a very strong Metal influence. The Triple Combinations If you noticed, Fire-Earth-Metal are (Triple combinations). Where Fire creates Earth, and yet destroy some Metal, while Earth produce Metal and yet destroy Water. This creates a harmony cycle which is what most cures should eventually do. Create a balance. It is not practical to bottle up the 6 coins in a glass bottle. Under the `commonsense approach' what happens if the bottle drops and breaks open. Thus it is not feasible under normal situations to do this sort of thing. Plus the coins get eroded and the `fumes' when the coins interact with salt water is bottled or pressurised in the bottle. Warmest Regards, Cecil Copyright (C) Geomancy.net
  2. Dear Carina, You have to align your North to South Eight House Template and superimpose this to the North to South of your house layout plan. Ref step by step guide: http://www.geomancy.net/fs/house1.htm Warmest Regards, Cecil
  3. Dear Alice, Nowadays, it is harder to apply Pillars of Occupation as I mentioned earlier that much of our work or for white collar workers much of our work relates / involves the computer. In general, we should still take into consideration our `core' work e.g. Accounting work. Overall, one way to look at it is that we should consider computers as tools to aid in our work. It is not like one who does computer programming but rather, most of us are simply users of ready made software such as Microsoft Word, Excel etc... Warmest Regards, Cecil
  4. Dear Cheui May, Again, if you can, just mark the locations you mentioned below. Will reply Para 4 and Para 5, the same message once u can attach the sketch. Thanks in advance. Cecil
  5. Dear Cheui May, Grateful, if you can draw a simple sketch as it will be clearer to see/understand. If you can how far is the `threat' and is there a road between your house and your neighbours. If so, roughly how wide is the road? Warmest Regards, Cecil P.S. Please post it to the conference for attachments. Thanks in advance.
  6. Dear Anon, As requested please find three favourable situations of bedrooms with windows on various sides of the room (no attached bathrooms) Please wait, file loading...File size = 16.7K All three layout plans: A, B and C are favourable. In the event that the bed faces a toilet door, one can place a side table with a table lamp to act as a `screen' or barrier between the toilet door and the bed.
  7. Dear Anon, Under the Yearly or Monthly calculations, no mountain or water stars can be calculated. Usually, the calculation is based on the `Base' star only. We would love to calculate if there is such a thing as the Yearly or Monthly `mountain' or `water' stars but there isn't any of these stars to calculate for the year. This is why, in Traditional Feng Shui, one notice that for a Flying Star Reading or calculations it has to be done for a 20 Year Flying Star analysis. The Yearly star(s) is based on or similar to the calculation of the Base number. Hope this explains why: 1. I have mentioned that Flying Star Analysis even if it is time dimension is done on a 20 year period. We normally cross-reference this with the Yearly chart to fine tune it. But most of the time, it is at the sector of the `5 yellow' which is at the North. Otherwise, usually, there is not much fine tuning needed. 2. For the above reason, we still need to use the Eight House, (personal Gua directions) into the analysis to get a broader picture. As one understands more and more Feng Shui, one can then see the rationale of why certain things or theories are used to `plug' the loopholes or weakness of each theory. Yours is indeed an interesting observation/question. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  8. Dear Anon, 1. The Living Room Usually, the centre area of the living room should be `low' areas e.g. the highest points are usually the sofa seats. It is acceptable to have the walls with higher cabinets. In the living room, we should `activate' the water star. Not necessary go out and buy a fountain but when we mention the water star, it can be low furniture. This is so that at eye level we can see the entire room. 2. The Dinning room The dinning table usually occupies the dinning room. As such, one should also apply the same concept i.e. water star i.e. keeping the middle sector of the living room `low'. Low which means the table is usually of a height where we can see the entire room. It is acceptable for the chair back rest to be higher. But overall, we can see the room without any partitions etc... Some believe that the mountain star can only be activated especially if it is the backdoor or a room e.g. a bedroom. While some practitioners do take one wall which is not the external wall where windows are to activate the mountain star should it occur or present. In my opinion, I would look at activating the mountain stair only in a room e.g. a bedroom, study room or the backdoor. However, some houses are unique as they have a room specifically as their dinning room. If this is a case, so long as the mountain star is not at the windows, it is `really' no harm, if one wants to try and activate the mountain star on a wall shared between another room. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  9. Dear Anon, When using the 33.3 percent ruleset, furniture tends to be relatively small compared to the floor area of a room like the family room. Ultimately, purchase what you and your family appreciate, and there should be no problem. Caution is typically for those who have no real desire to make a purchase, but do so for the sake of Feng Shui. We should all strive to enjoy our lives. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  10. Dear Anon, 1. Under natural forces of nature, it is acceptable to expect such conditions and one should not `worry' too much over this. 2. Most importantly, even with heavy snow, it is unlike another building blocking the frontage of the condominium. So long at most of the year, it provides a clear frontage, it is acceptable. Worse off are those houses that have their frontage blocked by as I mentioned other buildings. Warmest Regards, Cecil Warmest Regards, Cecil
  11. 1. Find out more about the Nanking 1937 to 1938:- Unlike the holocaust in Europe of the Jews, few people have heard of the Nanking Masscare. Nanking then was the capital of China and within a short span of 6 weeks, 300,000 Chinese were slaughtered in sadistic ways. Click this link to find out more:- http://www.nanking.org/ Click this link for :- Another good starting point Some of the above links contains gruesome pictures of rapes, beheading etc... not for the faint hearted. For example, this gruesome picture shows a picture of a mutliated lady. Others were roasted, nailed to the wall etc.. Click here for picture of:- Mutliated lady who was tortured and raped. Click here for view the article of the competition between two Japanese soldiers to see who has chopped off more than 150 heads (as they were undecided who had reached 100 heads first:- A cruel Japanese Competition `Game'. Princeton University: Student Exhibit Commemorating the 60th Anniversary of the Nanking Masscare http://www.princeton.edu/~nanking/ Observing a moment's of silence for the poor victims of this masscare. Even in Singapore, which was occupied by the Japanese, many older people who had lived through the fearful Japanese occupation, until their surrender are willing to forgive but not FORGET. 12. Dear Anon, 1. Thanks for sharing with all of us your view and caution about Fast Food Feng Shui. 2. As there are easily more than over 300 books on Feng Shui published, with either the `lure' of wealth or everyone's hope to gain immediate wealth, this would spell a dangerous position for the proper practise of Traditional Feng Shui. 3. Sad to say if this trend continues, many people, who may not have any problems could infact, create their own problems by adopting Fast Food Feng Shui. Thus give traditional Feng Shui a bad name. I remembered, that some persons had mentioned that they had studied `Feng Shui' from a popular author and afer e.g. 5 years of enhancing e.g. their `career ' or other sectors, were thus disillushioned with Feng Shui. Perhaps, one could have spent more productive time, engaged in our hobbies or pleasures? Or achieved something else in our lifes rather than hoping and waiting. Worse still, if it had caused health, and in some situations caused misfortune or even ruined families and even lead to death. Plus the wasted money buying `goods' or objects in the hope that we can gain more wealth. Money could have been better spent or saved. 4. For those who intend to live e.g. in a condominum, could easily have found an apartment, where, the condominum or building already has a `proper' fountain at the frontage. This fountain would for example, be good enough to give `prosperity' to the residents living in the plot of land. 5. If one has a relatively small apartment, how much can a small fountain bring us Qi. Worse, if one is `half-hearted'. Purchase a fountain than ask the question: Must I, turn it on 24 hours? In simple terms, if a fountain is not turned on it is considered `broken'. Thus, one should take advantage of economies of scale, where the plot of land, or condominum has a fully functional fountain (as an example). 6. Traditional Feng Shui or `Space Clearing' Usually, Traditional Feng Shui have some measures of `space clearing'. I believe, it may be worse, if one picks up the `finer' points of `Feng Shui ' enhancers, like buying wind chimes, fountains, plants and fish tanks. If, it is not meant as a hobby but purchased in the hope of obtaining wealth, then one may be even better off consulting a `Space Clearing' practitioner or such reading books. If the space clearing author writes that one must use intuition and less clutter, this concept has les harm than one provided in a book written by a Traditional FS author. At least, perhaps, `less harm' may come in. 7. Perhaps, in the next few years, more `precationary' books will be written to offset the tide of books that provide Fast Food Feng Shui. It is still important to remember: If it ain't broken, don't FIX IT! Like yourself, I do not like to sound negative, but Fast Food Feng Shui is a worrying trend as it had changed the lives of some people for the worse. Those who are lucky, I believe would vouch for it. Today, it seems to me like a losing battle. Another worrying trend is that many Feng Shui Schools even tradtional FS schools are `churning' out graduates, without the proper foundation. The worry here is that, some of these new `Masters' may be equally unsure and use the `place safe' method of using more `cures' or enhancers that is needed. Thus may inadvertenly create the imbalances. As a consumer, you have the right to know and always ask the practitioner to explain the purpose of the cure and how it relates to the Five elements. This will give you a better understanding of the imbalance and also make the practitioner put on their thinking cap. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  13. (This message has been reproduced from an old forum message, which first appeared under the conference: Photo Tours with Interest) What happens if there is a lone tree tangent/between the main entrance door? Take a closer look at the attachment to understand another theory called The `Triangle' Effect 1. If it is a single tree in the middle (outside) the main entrance door. This causes an imbalance in Qi as the trunk of the tree slices (like a sword) into the main entrance door. Here, place two plants e.g. two potted plants on each side of the main entrance to neutarlise the tree. It also creates what is known as a `Triangle' effect. If you notice carefully, in the attached diagram, the triangle on the last diagram points away from the house. 2. If it is a lone lamp post, you can use two poles at each side of the main entrance or use two `objects' such as fu-dogs. If you do not want to spent money, you can also use relatively cheap `objects' such as two potted plants if you want here. The reason why you can use any of the objects is based on "Symbolism" to form a triangle effect. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  14. Dear Anon, 1. In Asia, the most common recommended cure is to use a Ba Gua mirror to deflect the Sha Qi. 2. Yes, this can be considered one of the worst Sha Qi which is in my opinion, quite close to a corner of a building aimed at the main door or a house at a `T' junction with the main door exposed to the road. 3. Assuming that it is aimed directly at your main door (or a direct hit), the best cure is still the use of a convex Ba Gua mirror to neutralize the Sha Qi. 4. In the last resort if one does not want to use a Ba Gua mirror, one may consider the semi-circular floor mat radiating outwards. This is a `mild form' of defense. (Which is less effective and not recommended here) 5. Another alternative is to placewith the addition of two pots of plants on both sides of the house. Again, this is another `mild form' of defense. (Which is less effective and not recommended here). Para 4 and 5 can be combined together and used as a `last resort.' A more effective method is to use the concept called the `Triangle' Effect. I will attach a reproduction of this concept to this message. Here, one can follow the same idea of using three plants to form a triangle effect to aim back at the pointed roof. Please note that this concept is more for a house which has been sliced by a single lamp post. (Therefore, it is more to understand the various concepts) rather than applying it to your situation. As, this is also an offensive method where two triangles (the neighbour's triangle roof, points to your house and you have a `triangle' object pointed back to the neighbours house. Thus this is `tit-a-tat' Feng Shui. 6. Another alternative is if one has a window overlooking the pointed Tudor roof, one can aim a dragon figurine directly at the tip of the roof. A more offensive item is to use a canon ( e.g. a toy canon found on ancient ships) aimed directly at the roof. The warning is that it should not be in a direct path passing thru one's living room. Ideally, it should be on an open shelf e.g. located on the window or if the room aimed from one side of the wall at a certain height, i.e. on top of a display shelf aimed at the tip of the roof. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  15. Usually, if your house is `born' or built under Period 7 ( 1984 onwards ) if I am not mistaken, based on the Base element of the Flying Star, West is suppose to be a `Very Auspicious sector'. Unless, the Mountain and Water stars are `bad' stars, then there may be an imbalance. Are you looking at Flying Star Analysis on a total basis or just the Base star, Mountain and Water. It is best to relate the Base star, with the Mountain and Water star. In my opinion, unless the book comes from the same author and even so, both the first book you read must relate with the second book. If one follows too many different concepts, may face problems or non-uniform `cures'. As the information provided is piecemeal, and not sure on what it is based on, I an unable to comment further on it. Overall, based on the situation you mentioned,in my opinion, it would do no `harm' to use the wooden windchime. Usually, one has to be more careful especially if one uses a metallic wind chime. Alternatively, two potted plants on each side of the back door would be acceptable. Or a semi-circular mat, radiating outwards of the backdoor is equally acceptable. Overall, what is more important is to neutralise any poison arrows aimed at the main entrance or through windows. As for whether which door to use, is of secondary priority unless, it is the death/disaster sector of the Eight House. But normally, even if it is, the door can still be used and kept closed when not in use. A simple test is to stand at the window, facing outside. If the lamp post slices into the house, this is a `poison arrow'. Do check the location she spents most time at. If you are using the Flying Star, check where is the #2 and #5. If you have posted it in the forum, I would have answered it unless I have missed it. Warmest Regards, Cecil

  17. Dear Anon, Perhaps, you do not mind elaborate further what you mean by "little sloping". In general, ideally, the whole house should be slightly raised or rather before the house is built, it can be built on a slightly higher land. Here, this means that the plot of land is even (not sloping on any side). Without looking at it from a Feng Shui view-point, a slightly raised plot of land and drains, the house wouild have proper drainage. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  18. Dear Anon, 1. Pendulum Clock Yes, to some Feng Shui practitioner, it is a much better `cure' than say a " wind chime " as the `tick-toc' provides a constant `metallic' sound. 2. Rocking Chair This is "less well known" but has been used by some (more modern) FS practitioners, recommend it. Firstly, it has to go well with their clients. On the other hand, some FS practitioners may consider it less auspicious because of its rocking movement (unstable) as opposed to a solid and stable chair. Some of whom have solid armrests and some of the armrests have elaborate carvings on them. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  19. Dear Travis, 1. Sorry to learn about your health problems. 2. Most likely, there could be a sickness #2 or #5 at the current sector that you are occupying. 3. We would be glad to provide you will a Free paid, Flying Star report. Please email: robert-lee@3dmail.com and let us know if you have an existing account at www.geomancy-online.com and the account name privately. 4. Currently, it would be crucial to try to determine: The year of birth of the building/apartment and the direction of the main door. As a reference, the `year of birth' of the building need not necessary be the year the building was built but rather, when was the last major renovations of the building. If you still have a problem, and if the renovations was done prior to 1984, you may try to use Period 6 for the Flying Star Analysis. If the renovations were done after 1984, you may try to use Period 7 to do a Flying Star audit of the building. 5. As we are not physically present to help you, you may like to check whether there are any external `poison' arrows aimed into the apartment thru any of the windows or at your room door. Take care! Warmest Regards, Cecil
  20. Dear Anon, The fundamental questions are: 1. Where is the romance sector. 2. If there are more than one interpretation of romance sector, how should we go from there? 1. Where is romance sector? Some Feng Shui practitioners/authors use the Eight Associations or Life Aspirations/Association concept and pin-point to the South West sector. Such practitioners or authors, consider that it can be applied to say the SW sector of the bedroom. 2. If there are more than one interpretation of romance sector, how should we go from there? In an earlier forum message, one can find that: Under the Flying Star, #8 represents the "Romance" sector i.e. at North East. I have also reproduced several combinations of Mountain and Water Stars and their association with Romance. 3. How do we go from here? The question asked is which "Romance sector" should one enhance? if at all? 4. If one is really desperate to find Romance, is it logical to enhance all these sectors with the suggested enhancer `crystals' or `fountains'? 5. The most logical method is firstly use the Flying Star to check for any imbalances within each sector of the house. 6. It is not conclusive that crystals or fountains can enhance or activate romance to come alive. 7. What is worse, is that, many horror stories abound of people, using excessive or too much `Feng Shui' cures or enhancers like crystals or even fountains at the `wrong' location or what worse, does not match their Pillars of Destiny. 8. Imagine, if one is a weak fire person, a fountain may further exhaust his element. While for a strong water person the additional fountain (water) may overwhelm him/her creating sickness or competition at work. 9. In my opinion, it does not `pay' to spend money to create more problems for ourselves. We should lead normal lives like normal people and not overwhelm ourselves with self created problems. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  21. Dear Anon, 1. Usually the combination occurs specific to the Flying Star Chart being generated. We have provided the interpretation of the various combinations under the generated reports for Flying Star. 2. In the future, once I am fully satisifed with the Flying Star Course, will have the information available for those taking the courses. As there are 81 combinations of Mountain and Water Stars, as not every combination are the same for each person, as mentioned, we have already provided this in under our Flying Star Report at www.geomancy-online.com Warmest Regards, Cecil
  22. Dear Alice, 1. Usually, the Pillars of Occupation report will indicate the type of career and that it should be in `frequent contact with'. Perhaps, you may like to check to see if the `Wealth career' has to be in frequent contact with another element. For example, Accounting under the Five Elements Concept is considered the Metal element. 2. Previously, jobs are easier to define and not as `complex' as today's where we may perform multi-skills in one job. 3. Our emphasis of using the Pillars is more geared towards, the Feng Shui portion of precisely determing a person's element and its strength and using the season of strength under the Luck Pillars to further provide a `larger' picture and understanding of any enhancements or cures for the users/clients. 4. As many users have also requested for various other modules related to Pillars of Destiny such as `Pillars of Occupation', we have provided it also. Presently, I can only say that it is harder today to properly determine the exact element of each occupation as it may consists of a few elements. For now, one way of finding the element for a specific job is to find the main skill involved and thus consider this the element of the job. For example, as you had mentioned an Accounts Executive job; if it is related to accounting, currently this is considered a Metal element occupation. However, sometimes titles may be misleading and the job may be more focused on Accounting entry using a computer. The job then may not be considered of the metal element. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  23. Further to the earlier message, this combination of stars is pretty interesting:- If Moutain Star #2 and Water Star #7, the significance is:- "Enjoy good wealth during period 7. However, great wealth will result in possible romance. Beware of someone using kindness or romance to cheat you of your wealth." Warmest Regards, Cecil Lee (C) Copyright 2000, Cecil Lee, The 81 Interpretations, Geomancy.net
  24. Dear Anon, Each has its advantages and disadvantages. 1. Usually, the 8 pie is easiest to do if one has a protractor or already has a predrawn transparency template done. It's so simple thus to determine the centrepoint and then immediately, sketch/draw the 8 pie on the copy of the layout plan. The 8 pie is also easy especially if the house is odd shpaed, with missing corners or you want to do an analysis which extends outwards of the house. It is also good for circular houses. Many Traditional Feng Shui practitioners like to use this because the numbers, Water, Mountain and Base stars, in my opinion can be neatly written and clearly understood. 2. The 9 equal parts, or 9 grids is useful if the house is rectangular or squarish shape is acceptable. Here, you can clearly see which sector is under the influence of a particular sector. It is advantages only if we are only looking within the confines of the house or within the borders of the house. 3. Therefore, there are no right or wrong answers as to which method to use. For me, I prefer to use the Pie Chart method as a quick an easy way to subdivide the sectors (plus the centre sector). If the house is a `perfect' rectangle or square, the grids are much easier to draw. Many Singapore government flats have sectors or divisions of rooms that quite fall within the 9 x 9 grid and thus it makes sense to use the Grid method. Plus, the walls fall parallel with the True compass directions e.g. North, 0 degrees, 90 degrees, 180 degrees ... 4. More importantly, it is not how one draws the 9 x 9 grid or 8 sector Pie charts but, the delivery is in giving quality results to the clients. 5. In the past, I do have a laugh when there was a debate over which method is `better'. I believe, all of us has more important things to do than childishly fight over such a `silly' matter. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  25. Dear Anon, The Flying Star has: 1. The Base Star. 2. The Water and Mountain Stars. Glyn correctly pointed out that the Base Number #8 (North East, Weak Earth) is correct to represents Romance. 2. Under the `81' interpretations: Mountain Star #1 and Water Star #4 which is similar to Mountain Star #4 and Water Star #1 signifies the following:- "Successful sales, become famous, praised, have good luck and likely to be promoted." Mountain Star #4 and Water Star #4 which is similar to Mountain Star #4 and Water Star #4 signifies the following:- "Suitable for going out. You have romance luck." Mountain Star #7 and Water Star #4 signifies the following:- "Romance Luck" Mountain Star #4 and Water Star #7 which is similar to Mountain Star #4 and Water Star #4 signifies the following:- "Romance is in control. There is Wealth and Romance gains during this period." Mountain Star #1 and Water Star #7 and Mountain Star #7 and Water Star #1 signifies the following:- "Good luck in romance. Very lucky when going out. Prosperous." Thus, my interpretation of "#4 and #1' and vice versa, differs from the statement mentioned below. Warmest Regards, Cecil (C)Copyright 2000, Cecil Lee
