  1. Pencil Tree (Euphorbia tirucalli) - Tree with stick-type of leaves Two more photos.
  2. Pencil Tree (Euphorbia tirucalli) I have observed this tree in a smaller form in several locations, though not frequently. It brings to mind the longtong dish featuring long beans, or popiah that includes French beans... This tree is devoid of leaves. Alternatively, its leaves resemble twigs more closely.
  3. Plain Thosai At Springleaf Prata Place on 9.3.2020 (Vegetarian diet) To carnivores like myself.. this is also another example of comfort food..
  4. Thanks for the thorough explanation, master!
  5. Hello master, Is a pot filler such as the one in the attached photo where it is right on top of the stove bad Feng shui? If so, if we just not use it, would that be a remedy or still better not to have it at all? Thanks! Reply: Dear xxxx, Thanks for the photo. These are some considerations: 1. Make sure that the inlet pipe for this pot filler is not anywhere near the surface or at least 6 or more inches from the stove. 2. Under Symbolism in Feng Shui, here the water (as in water pipe) and fire (stove clash). 2.1. Actually, this has more to do with common sense. If one has the inlet pipe of this pot filler close-by to the stove, the water within it can be heated up. Especially if copper piping is installed nearby to the stove. 2.2. In modern times, some pumber use hard plastic pipes. Even if these pipes are close to the stove, and if exposed repeated to high heat, may sometimes become brittle or melt. And also, the water may be heated up. (good or bad..hmm) 3. Hear-say information: as to who to believe? There are times where if I say Okay. But later on, if you have close friends or relatives.. who saw this and exclaim that it is very inauspicious! Who do you then believe? 3.1. In many professional Chinese kitchens, they do also have this pot filler = Some have it. Done it! 3.2. If you are the type who easily swayed by other peoples comments or criticisms, then don' t install. As in the future, you may end up writing to me to justify: WHY so said OKAY? But so many of my friends say : VERY UNLUCKY! 3.3. But if you are the type who feels: This is my home, it is practical or functional or useful thing. And I couldn't care less outsiders interfering with it. Then: Please go ahead to install it. Not an issue. If above Para 2 is taken note of. Thanks

  11. Further to what I had mentioned, Chinese has been stereo typed as having yellow skin. (Okay, me included). Assuming if a Chinese bought this same house in a western country. This same house may even be glaringly obvious of the Chinese. Given the recent COVID-19 thing... if I am that Chinese, I will certainly stay as low a profile as I can! Okay, if one is not a Chinese... just maybe this is okay!

  13. 1. Thank you for sharing with us (to me) an unusual house roof colour. 2. Although if I had not mistaken, previously I had seen this yellow coloured roof.. not in a home abode but rather a standalone restaurant. More like an association with a drive in of McDonalds.. LOL 3. Okay, firstly, this has nothing to do with racial thing. 4. In the past pre-1800's no Chinese homes have ever used such a roof-tile colour. 5. As in the past, one can be be-headed even for wearing yellow. 6. As yellow was reserved for an emperor. Even a prince is not allowed to wear such a colour. 7. Thus, even today, many Chinese homes never ever used Yellow roofing. 8. Even when I had previously visited the Forbidden City a few years ago, no yellow roof tiles has been used. As perhaps, this is disrespectful of the emperor. 8.1. And really, not only the head of that household may be be-headed, but all their clan and family members too! 9. Since almost next to zero usage, there is really no precedence, cannot share any stories good or bad associated with it. 10. Generally, under the Five Elements, Yellow represents the earth element. And the photo of the house in your photo looks like an Earth element building as the house seems rectangular in shape. 11. In a way, seems harmonious! Technically looks okay. 12. Anything related to common sense? Habit number 5? 12.1 Often, I will search my brain cells / brain database to see whether is there any common sense related to yellow roofs? 12.2. What immediately comes to my mind are pigments. 12.3. In the past, yellow and red paint use organic pigments that are sensitive to ultra-violet rays. 12.3.1. A yellow car depending on it’s exposure to sunlight can have a noticeable dullness and faded colour in a matter of 12 months or more! 12.4. Therefore, in the past, if one were to buy especially a yellow colour. A few years down the road, because of the organic paint used, yellow has a higher rate of fading. 13. If we follow the logic under Para 12.3. This means that if the yellow roof tiles still use organic yellow based paint, won't it fade and or discolouration occurs? 14. Fortunately, in modern times, I believe some paints or glazing uses synthetic yellow paint.. that are equal to other colours that don't use organic materials. 15. This is fine. Or Okay. 16. In humid countries and often raining. Countries like Singapore may not be too suitable to yellow. As algae or other such matters may partially cover and turn the roof even greenish etc... 17. The other thing is that if the roof tiles are dirty... yellow is such an obvious colour. 18. This is why we understand this thing called: Yellow, yellow dirty fella! 19. If this house is in Syria today, I won't want to stay in such a home. As if a rogue or Turkish combat plane or drown were to fly past this Syrian home... it really sticks out like a sore-thumb. Don't want to be at the end of a "bunker busting bomb" shaft down one's throat!.
  14. Distinctive features of this estate...designed by a British architect. His name and a plaque can be found at one of the Void Decks in this HDB estate Some units have bedrooms that has this distinctive two pointed edges... it would not be good if it is pointed towards another block’s unit opening such as a living room windows... Each unit occupies half of the curved living room window area:

  17. Case Study 13: Looking out for "red flags" in the development via the Legends on the site map. 1. Some "red flags" depends more on personal preferences. 1.1. For example, there are some who prefer to steer clear of units close to certain potential noisy facilities. 1.2. For example, on certain days and timings areas like Kids' Splash Pool or Aqua Play and/or Kids' Placespace can get a tad noisy or rowdy at times. 1.3. Thus for those who are not too keen with having to deal with such noise levels should steer clear from a unit facing such a facility. 1.4. However, as mentioned earlier, some really like to have a unit facing such a facility. The adage: "one man's meat and another's poison applies, here". 2. Under Case Study 7, I had already touched on areas like Bin Centre (the developer uses the American "CENTER" instead). 3. Nice to avoid a unit close-by to anything related to BBQ. For example, a no-no to purchase a low floor unit especially at stack #24. 3.1. If possible also avoid low floor units of #23, #26 and #27. Unless you want your home smelling like a BBQ pit especially during weekends and/or public holidays. 3.2. Sometimes if it is not the BBQ, but do expect noise and privacy should parties be held at the Picnic Jardin & BBQ area. And wait a moment! Your new home might just be a magnet for ants. Since it is close-by to the BBQ pit.
  18. Case Study 12: I am interested in purchasing a Penthouse unit. Should I be concerned with the individual block's water tank directly above my unit? 1. Highlighted in yellow are where the individual block's water tank sits. 2. Stacks such as #23 and #32 have the entire water tank situated at it's entire unit. 3. While the rest of the water tanks are sitted collectively between e.g. stack #05, #08 and part of the block structure at Block 72 as another example. 4. Should I be concerned if I purchase a unit with a water tank either fully sitted on my roof-top or partially? 5. Let me share a story with you. 5.1. Around 2 years ago my client was considering purchasing a penthouse unit at Hillview Heights condo at Hillview Avenue. This development was completed in 1996. 5.2. As I was walking inside the unit doing observations, actively, I also looked up at the ceiling of the penthouse. 5.2. Naturally, this is one of the checklists whenever one is considering the highest floor where what stands between the unit is the roof of that stack. 5.3. Sure enough, there was an obvious leak area. Strangely, it is not at the toilet. But on the ceiling of the passageway. 5.4. We also tried to see where the water tank was. And realised that most likely the leak was at the location where one of the legs of the water tank was bolted to the roof. 5.5. Common sense says that a water tank and it's ancillary fixtures may expand. Thus imagine since 1996, that bolt over a specific ceiling expands and contracts. Bound to have a cracked roof. 5.6. Of course, if the roof water proof seal is well maintained; less likely of this. But which development or even MA or MCs are aware of such issues. 5.7. Often the only time that they are aware is where the Subsidary Proprietor of a unit complaints to the MA. 5.8. Following this.. of course it is the onus of the MA / MC or the estate to fix any external issues or leaks. 5.9. But often either the damage has been done or one does not feel that comfortable with a water tank above one's head. 6. Like the example of Hillview Heights and under symbolism in the Iching, it is inauspicious to have water directly above one's unit. 6.1. Here, water symbolises difficulty for those staying below it. 6.2. Feng Shui accounts for only 33.33% total of the luck. 6.3. Other factors like Human or Man luck (or feel good or bad) also accounts for another 33.33% of one's luck. 6.4. Thus after purchasing such a penthouse unit, some may not have a good feel that they are staying under a water tank. There goes one's Human or Man luck factor... 7. In a future re-sale senario, a potential buyer and or their Feng Shui Master (FSM) may also feel the same. 8. In particular do avoid the penthouse unit especially at stacks #23 and #32. And if possible the rest of the penthouse units with the water tank partially above it. 9. There should not be a concern if one purchase a unit one level just below such a penthouse. A future potential purchaser should not have an excuse to give a "low ball" offer based on this! 10. Okay. Let me know where are the common bin locations in each block?
