  1. Under the productive sequence under the Five Elements concept; Please see attached illustration. It is more "potent" to use wood to fuel fire vs just adding fire to fire. Although both are good for a weak fire person. Wood would be considered a "top choice" or first choice - if possible.
  2. In my opinion, you have to see where your core function is. For example, in the past, I mentioned : CEO's key function. Although a CEO may be in-charge of say: Accounting, Human Resource, Sales & Marketing, Operations Management; overall his key function is to GROW the company. Thus this CEO's core function may be considered as Wood element. Strategic Management = > Wood element. Since, the key function is to grow the company. Using whatever tools e.g. Porter's Five Forces, SWOT analysis and what not. If one is either in Sales or Marketing; then it is Fire element. For a weak fire person; of course, based on the Five Elements concept: having WOOD is the first choice. While fire is like adding fire to fire. Not as potent as using WOOD to fuel fire. Thus, even in this area; so called doing more of CEO role or Team Leader function is considered a better choice for a weak wood person. While Sales and Marketing is not that significant as WOOD. If you get what I mean.
  3. Next year, do take note of #5 at NW. 4. 2013 Flying Star Forecast North 6 1 8 7 5 3 2 9 4 South Take note the following sectors:- Sickness Star this year is at South-West Misfortune/Sickness Star this year is at Center Disputes/Quarrel Star this year is at East Education/Romance Star this year is at South-East Grand Duke this year is South-South-East, 150 Degree. - Avoid sitting facing the grand duke or disturbing him by having renovations. Location in Conflict is East. - Avoid having renovations done opposite the location in conflict. This year, had seen a fair share especially of businesses: especially offices that has large open plan spaces in the centre-point. The first case was a client that is into production that had problems with defects. Notably, there are also others: a bank; and several other business that had cash flow problems.
  5. The "bird-nest" type of design for Tree House condo's pavilions are safe-designs. Since it is rounded; there are no protrusions in the form of poison arrow(s) from the "spikes" of the trellises.
  6. I knew when the development called 100 trees condo (at West Coast)T.O.P. It really has lots of trees. Not that I counted them. But I guess, the development must have that many number of trees. But, I was trying to figure out why they call it Tree house? Perhaps, I stumbled on it the other day. When I say the Sky view tower and I zoomed in to the following photos. One of the photos shows a distinct large beam. We shall call it a "tree trunk" with several branches .... OIC! Holy smoke! this must be the reason why it is called the TREE HOUSE!"
  7. When designing new buildings or homes or Additions and Alternation works; buildings should be made friendly to it's neighbours. And to choose carefully the material and design of external walls and roofing. Notably, myVillage in Serangoon Gardens darkened ts floor-to-ceiling windows in 2010, after nearby residents complained that the glass reflected too much sunlight and heated up their homes in the evenings. The neighbourhood mall subsequently replaced the reflective glass with two-way tinted glass a few months later. The regulatory update is so that designs can be enjoyed by all without causing anyone inconvenience or hardship, said Mr Khaw. It comes as building designs here are becoming more complex and elaborate. "With an increasing number of developers and architects exploring the use of less conventional materials, some form of check and balance is necessary so that design does not come at the cost of comfort and safety," he said.
  8. Someone posted this question: Dear Geomancy.net Team: I am wondering if the "Flying Star House Number Report" can be also used for determining a new business address. Please advise. Thank you. Kind regards, S........... Reply: No.
  9. 1. Previously, Iwas impressed by a sketch for Foresque Residences U/C condominium. 2. The designer of the project sketch out what looks like the external flow of qi. 3. And even with common sense; the development is made up of "point-blocks". 4. And as I had previously mentioned; "point-blocks" like those 1st generation HDB 5 Rm Point blocks that were built around the 1970's were the best for the flow of external qi. 5. Equally, we should take this one step further and see how; this EXTERNAL qi can come into the home: especially through openings. 6. And also; 1st and foremost to determine; where most likely the frontage of the apartment is. 7. I consider this the fundamentals of Flying Star Feng Shui. 8. Unfortunately, today, there are even practising geomancers who have no notion of or consideration of linking the concept of qi flow to Flying Star. 9. And based on text-book response; you will be surprised many still feel that there can only be one main door (frontage) in a high-rise and that is taking a reading out of the main entrance door!
  10. Please use the free (in the next 30 days) auspicious dates under this url: http://dates.geomancy.net or simply type: dates.geomancy.net
  11. Are there any openings (if any) close to a cardinal point e.g. NE. Here, NE has a row of windows : even if not open does allow light ( qi in the form of light) to enter into the home. VS, West; where there is a solid wall. In order to practise Flying Star Feng Shui; one of the fundamentals is to "imagine" or rather "visualise" qi flow (if any) to FINE TUNE any cures or enhancements (if any). This is why, in the first place; the idea of finding the correct frontage of Flying Star Feng Shui is to locate; where are the openings and visualise; where are the dominant air-flow or light-flow into a home. For example, for most apartments; usually the frontage is often the location e.g. standing inside the living room looking outwards; as often, this area in many cases has the largest openings such as the living room window(s) or balcony + dining area openings + bedrooms at this "side" of the house. (Do take note that each layout has to be looked at and this is not a one size fits all scenario).
  12. Further to what I had mentioned: 1. Please refer to the attached illustration. 2. Please zoom into two sectors: WEST and NE. 3. Often, when I look at whether or not there is a major issue; I always "imagine" how qi will or can or cannot flow into a home (especially from the exterior). 4. Thus, let's take the 1st example: WEST sector. 4.1. In this attachment, West sector is "blocked" by a solid wall. And furthermore, it is drowned by the toilet / yard / kitchen. Thus even if this sector has MS#2 and WS#5; to me; this is less of a concern. 4.2. Contrast this with the 2nd box (example): NE sector. As thiscardinal point (NE) is at the edge of the wall; but there is a large opening (windows) of bedroom 3; thus if this sector has bad stars; it is felt that the impact would be great. 5. Thus, if one's situation is like WEST; really not a major concern even if there are two #5's as much as if it is at NE sector. 6. Therefore, there is no such thing as ONE shoe fits all; type of thing. 6.1. One has to look at any external openings if any or near to the cardinal point that we are looking at. And then factor in any enhancements or cure(s) if any. 6.2. Unfortunately, many don't consider this point. And simply apply Text-book type of Fung Sway to all situations.
  13. Progress photos of last year's purchase @Katong...
  14. These are some considerations: 1. Are there any external openings? 2. If so, is the external openings at or close to the cardinal point of NW? 3. Often, if the NW sector is against an internal wall; where qi does not flow-in; then this is less of a concern. 4. But if the external opening is close to or at the NW; then this would be a greater concern. And the type of cure would depend on the above.
  15. If you D.I.Y.; then the advice is to plot a Flying Star chart; analyse the various stars: in particular the #3's.
  16. From 2016 onwards, more and more plots of land in Punggol will have highrise flats... Here's to 6.9 million for SGP. Will it share the same fate as...Hong Kong, below? Resource: Reference: http://www.scmp.com/article/584640/revealed-high-rise-heat-trap Revealed: the high-rise heat trap Thermal image shows HK's urban areas up to 7 degrees hotter than open land - and it's getting worse This high-resolution satellite image reveals for the first time how Hong Kong's high-rises are causing the city to heat up dramatically - with urban areas up to 7 degrees Celsius hotter than rural areas. Scientists fear the difference, known as the urban heat island effect, could be 10 degrees by 2050. The image was taken by the Nasa satellite Terra at 10.42pm on January 31. It shows that large areas of the city - including Central, Mong Kok, Causeway Bay and Kwun Tong - had nocturnal temperatures of more than 18 degrees, while many rural areas were 13 degrees or lower. An area of Kwun Tong next to the old airport was especially hot because of a lack of space between closely packed industrial buildings. It is believed to be the first high-resolution, nighttime image of the urban heat island effect in the world. The variation is caused by the greater heat absorbency of man-made materials such as concrete and asphalt and reduced air circulation around high-rises. Researchers from Polytechnic University were granted a slot on Terra under Nasa's Mission to Planet Earth research programme and used a novel technique to create an image that is accurate to within 10 metres - nine times the resolution of typical thermal satellite images. Janet Nichol, associate professor in Polytechnic University's department of land surveying and geo-informatics, said: 'The image shows that the urban heat island in Hong Kong is concentrated in the areas that are most densely built up with high-rise buildings. 'The temperatures of these areas are 6 or 7 degrees higher than the surrounding rural areas. There is an uninterrupted north-south swathe of warm temperatures extending from the southern tip of Kowloon peninsula through Jordan and Mong Kok to Sham Shui Po. 'If, as scientists predict, temperatures will increase by a further 3 degrees Celsius up to 2050, this means that the ambient air temperature in the urban areas will be 10 degrees higher than the natural level due to the impact of human activity.' Dr Nichol said the image provided the most comprehensive evidence yet of the urban heat island effect in Hong Kong. 'This is because it was taken at night - and urban heat island is a nighttime phenomenon.' Lam Ka-se, from the department of civil and structural engineering, had earlier found a difference of just 2 or 3 degrees. But Dr Nichol said this did not give the full picture because only a few sampling points were used across the city. A 10-member research team took air and ground temperatures at 16 places, including the summit of Tai Mo Shan, Nathan Road in Mong Kok and the Star Ferry Pier in Tsim Sha Tsui, as the satellite was overhead. The high level of detail means temperature effects could be calculated for a housing estate, individual building and even a single row of trees, Dr Nichol said, and planners could use this information to mitigate the heat island effect. 'It has been shown that the more extensive the urban heat island, the greater the magnitude. If you can break it up into smaller packets using vegetation, green corridors and small patches of park, it will decrease the magnitude quite considerably. 'We could also have more roof-top gardens - and even small parks and planting trees along streets would help. One large tree has the impact of two large air conditioners going at full blast. In new areas earmarked for development such as the West Kowloon cultural quarter and Kai Tak, there is a golden opportunity to introduce greening concepts.' Dr Nichol said both developments would enlarge Hong Kong's extensive heat island and drive up temperatures further. Edwin Lau Che-feng, acting director of Friends of the Earth, said he was alarmed by the findings. 'We need the government to bring forward legislation that will require developers to establish parks, gardens, trees and shrubs in any new development project,' he said. Last year was the eighth warmest in Hong Kong since records began in 1884, with an average temperature of 23.5 degrees, half a degree higher than normal. Globally, 2006 was the sixth warmest year on record.
  17. These are some considerations: 1. In the field of strategic management; we can look at it from two levels: 1.1. The Industry 1.2. The job function. 2. Thus; for example; some industries are clear-cut e.g. a car maker is considered as Metal industry. So does a Bank = Metal. 3. But as most of us know; even within an Industry; there are various job functions. 3.1. Thus, if one is is in Customer relations; then it is earth element; 3.2. If in Marketing and sales; then fire element. 4. As you have not clearly mentioned what you are selling; or may be too diverse to fall into a specific category; then no worries, also. As contrary to popular belief; some industries can be diverse and need not belong to just one element! 4.1. In general; those going door to door are often considered as belonging to the "Fire element." 5. But if you are the boss; then most likely your element may be considered as "Wood" i.e. to grow the company.
  18. If one has the time; please read this material:- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=6&mid=32652&new=%3Cbr
  19. 1. In my opinion, what you wrote is pure utopian or (book-worm) text-book case. 2. This is similar to some who has a misunderstanding of sorts. For example; even today; there are geomancers that say: "close and don't use that master toilet". 3. You stay there; We don't! 4. Please check out my past messages on the "bell curve". 5. For example, even within an estate or a plot of land; there are good homes (or stacks in an apartment); and there are the average or so so homes within that plot of land. 6. Thus, even if one stays in a specific area NW; but within that plot of land or estate; one happens to stay in a bad home, how? Logical or not? 7. For some, a bad excuse to get out of a marriage? Just imagine this:- 7.1. Plantiff: "Judge, my geomancer says that I have live in the Maldives NW. While my wife has to live in Alaska, North!" 7.2. Judge: "How then, can you produce babies?" 7.3. Plantiff: "That's why we can't! And because of this our marriage is a total failure!" 7.4. Plantiff: "You see, even when we WERE together; I had to sleep facing West and my wife facing East. I end up smelling her stinking feet and vice-versa!" 7.5. Judge: "Is this a sick, joke? I am sending you to the hospital to get your head examined!"
  20. Recently, a client asked me whether, should he consider buying a semi-detached: marked in red as "X" in the attachment. He was also concerned with the road "leading" towards the newly TOP semi-detached. home. He is correct to be concerned. The stretch of road marked as "A" and highlighted in bold yellow is not advantages to that home.
