  1. A photo of a typical mid-1970's HDB 5 bedroom "Point-block" flat can be found under this link (close to the bottom of the thread):- http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=26799&new=%3Cbr
  2. 1. As mentioned, previously, Tree House condo consists of 4 blocks. 2. And in Singapore, we commonly associate each block as a "POINT-BLOCK". Very similar to the old HDB 5 room "point block" flats that were very popular during the mid-1970's that were scattered all over Singapore. 3. One good thing about such "Point-Block" flats are that they allow qi to circulate very well around a single Point-block. And these point blocks are spaced out and not connected or enclosed. 4. For example, see the attached illustration. Please refer to the area surrounded by RED outline. 5. I am referring to BLKS 584, 585, 586, 587, 588 & 589 which SUFFERS FROM POOR QI FLOW. 6. In theory, all units face outwards and all main doors face the inner "Oval" shape like court yard. There are no gaps as all units / stacks are joined together. 6.1. Thus, air flow or qi cannot efficiently flow into each of the living rooms and exit out EFFICIENTLY to the court yard area. Here, in the art of Feng Shui; this creates stagnant or close to dead qi. 6.2. The plants within the court yard also look unhealthy. 7. Contrast this type of block arrangement with the Point-Block. The Point-Block easily gets top bidding over these "experiment" gone wrong type of block design.
  3. Tree House Condo is developed byCDL, a subsidiary ofHong Leong Group. Tenure: 99-year Leasehold Expected Completion: 2014 # of Floors: 24 # of Units: 429 Tree House is a 99-years leasehold condominium development located at 60 Chestnut Avenue, Singapore 679493 in District 23. Expected completion is in one or two months time. From a Shapes and Forms Feng Shui point of view; it comprises a total of 4 towers. The towers are in a "point block" form. Which is consideredgood foroverall qi circulation. Majority of the stacks face True North and True South (0 degrees and 180 degrees). A few stacks face either NE or SE facing. One of the best stacks is stack 13. Although stack 13's kitchen is at NW; sometimes, a good Shapes and Forms can help to reduce this incidence (Fire at Heaven's gate). Nowadays, it is harder to find developments that have their towers spaciously apart from one another. And this bodes well for good Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. My only gripe with this developer: Check out The Livia and it's plaster or dry walls!
  4. A good parent will always teach their daughters (when wearing a short skirt) to CLOSE their legs when seating properly. You don't want to let that little girl wearing a short skirt seat opening her legs wide and exposing her undies to the whole cheeky boys + men! Unless of course that girl is still wearing pampers! Again, this is common sense with a spice of the reflective properties of a mirror. Add that with a girl with no manners.
  5. For many years, the government has disallowed external drainage piping for the car porch. This is to prevent the external drainage from being clogged by leaves and other debris. And to prevent mosquito breeding. Some architects decided that one of the methods is to install a SLOPING glass roof. Through gravity, the rain can be effectively be channelled towards a specific direction of the house. Unfortunately, glass panels are highly reflective. And if the conditions are right; at certain sunny days; the rays of the sun could shine onto the glass and it's glare focused into the windows or sliding doors of the 2nd storey (level). Again, it does not take much common sense that before, one permanently install such a sloping glass porch roof; do study where the sun rays (morning or afternoon) and also the ANGLE of the tilt of the glass porchpanel(s).
  6. 1. Common sense says that whenever we install or try to install a mirror, we may have to consider the surroundings. 2. For example, if we were to install a mirror at one of the walls next to the living room window(s); best to study to determine if it may be "affected" by sunlight if any. 3. Watch that morning or afternoon SUN RAYS! 4. As light from a mirror is reflected at a 90 degree angle; sometimes, placing it as shown in the attachment may inadvertently allow the bright glare of sunlight to be reflected further into the home. 4.1. Some may say, this is a blessing in disguise; but often, the glare can be quite distracting and "painful" to the eyes.
  7. Here, the architect and designer forgot about the (reflective)properties of a mirror. I first realised the poor design when I literally used the same urinal. And when I turned to go (out) I saw the view from where I was standing... at the spot in the photo named " From the Urinal1.jpg ". Immediately I said... OOPS! If I can see the walkway; someone at the walkway can look into the toilet. I know... it is less interesting to look into a male toilet. But this is beside the point! The whole toilet thing is : POOR DESIGN and POOR interior design work also. Location: 5th Level, The Estuary condo:Male toilet. As the female toilet is a mirror of the male toilet, letyour imagination, flow. I dare not walk past the Female toilet to take a look. But, please see attachments. The toilet(s) at The Estuary does not have a toilet door. It is suppose to take advantage of turning corridors as a passive way to avoid toilet doors. BUT, take a look. Withouta toilet door; the mirror above thesink reflects the Urinal! Apparently, both the architect and designer forgot the reflective properties ofmirror!
  8. Find out what is one's objective? A developer's Feng Shui objective may be the overall luck of the entire building. A home owner's objective is both a good building qi and good interior Feng Shui. For a child? Who cares! So long as he/she can sit in front of a lovely TV set the whole day long! So what is your objective?
  9. 1. As mentioned earlier; a developer's view of the facing direction and thus getting Feng Shui advice to build the FRONTAGE of a building may SOMETIME differ or diverge fromthat of an individual's. 2. In the attachment, don't be surprised that even a small narrow opening between two buildings. Often, so long as there is an opening (not necessary) large or clear space may fit certain Flying Star conditions. 3. For example, if building marked in red "X's" facing direction is there, and if there is the auspicious Mountain Star #8 at location X; this would fit the description of : facing a Mountain. 4. Correspondingly, if directlybehind X is an opening and there happens to be the water star #8; there, don't be surprise thaton a geomancer's recommendations; the frontagecould be at "X". 5. However,if marking "X" was found to have double auspicious Mountain and Water stars #8, here then having a frontage facing another building is not advantages for the building. 6. As mentioned, everything written about is about: The developer and his BUILDING. 7. For a stack/unit stakeholder (owner); it is NICE that the building OVERALL has good Feng Shui. But more importantly, YOUR stack/unit must be able to capture and retain good qi = GOOD FENG SHUI. 8. Your unit's facing direction is equally if not more important for YOUR well-being, ALSO! 9. Your aim is MORE towards MICRO Flying Star. As you can't control your MACRO Flying star or it has already been determined when the building's built. 10. A good sterling example are the office buildings in the "old" CBD area. Many of such buildings frontage are separated by just a road. And looks quite familiar to your photo. 10.1. In theory, many of such buildings e.g. Robinson Point, Robinson 77, Afro Asia Building etc have building frontages along the narrow Robinson Road facing another building. Perhaps, all these actual frontage should not be mixed with Flying Star frontage. But these are still most likely the building's frontage as these buildings are of similar height and back-to back with another building facing Shenton Way.
  10. 1. Thanks for your feedback. 2. These are some considerations: 2.1. Facing Directions: Macro and Micro Level 2.2. Nowadays, a building is not like the past, a small slab or block of flats much like those on one of our old $1 note showing the 1 room type flats. 2.3. If so, it is so easy to find the facing direction of the whole building. 3. What is your purpose of finding the FACING DIRECTION? 3.1. If I am a developer and I want to engage a geomancer to look at the OVERALL Feng Shui of my building and if possible, check to see if the "water position" and mountain position is correct?" or which is better facing for the GENERAL welfare of the entire building. 3.2. If you are a stake holder and looking at a specific stack; then your objectives MAY be different from 3.1. 4. Thus, if you are a stake holder of a unit or trying to obtain a unit in a specific stack; then your facing direction of you UNIT is again (Generally) standing inside the living room looking outwards. Or usually the location where there are the most windows. 4.1. Why so? It has to do with the Flying Star Theory or Concept. 4.2. Flying Star (Compass School) Feng Shui is about seeing where the most YANG qi comes into a building and/or even a unit within a stack. Of course, sometimes, the building's facing and stack/unit's facing are the same. 4.3. In many other instances the stack/unit's facing may be different. 5. If you want to check a specific unit's Feng Shui for both enhancements and neutralise bad qi; ultimately the facing direction should best reflect upon that unit. So that one has the highest chance of putting the correct measures in place to boost the Feng Shui or check whether one can or cannot buy. 6. For a developer, it is as mentioned earlier; if my frontage faces another building is this good or not? 6.1. A good example is your photo. That where you mark an X. And there is another huge building opposite it. 6.2. If a geomancer had determined that because of the "stars" (The flying stars) it is good to have UP mountain; down water; then (a surpise to many!) The geomancer may even on the contrary advise this position to be the facing direction. Why? 6.3. If say the geomancer found that there is a Mountain star #8 at the facing direction; there is in the photo still some bright hall effect between the two buildings. And the neighbouring building can be activated as a "MOUNTAIN STAR!". While perhaps, the back of the building has clear space because he/she can activate the Water Star #8, there! 7. If a geomancer calculated that it would be better to have double #8's from now to 2023; and if another facing direction has clear space; then, he might consider this to be the facing direction. 8. Therefore, simply facing directions can mean different things to different persons or their objectives may differ slightly. Thus usually developers want a good Macro level "good" facing direction. While a unit owner or subsidiary tenant may want a good facing for himself. 9. In all buildings; usually units stack up like a bell curve. There are some stacks that are polished gems or unpolished gem; there are the average stacks and there are some which falls under failure or F grade apartments. 10. For a home owner, of course, one would like the building to have good facing; but more importantly, "I want mine to have excellent facing directions". So what is your objective? A developer or a unit owner?
  11. This is again, pure common sense:- Especially if the master bedroom door and bedroom 3 door leading to the balcony are ajar; Frequent cooking would bring the cooking vapours into either or both bedrooms. Worse still, if one use bottle gas; and should the fire extinguish and the gas leaks... it may leak directly into the (external) but also blow into either or both of the bedrooms.
  12. 1. You wrote: 1) Having a kitchen in the South will be bad for us? 2. Common sense says: " To withstand having a kitchen in the South under P8 " 3.Fix-the-Leak, First! 3.1 If possible try to fix as many leaks (other than the kitchen in the south) as possible and ifopportunity to enhance then go for it. 4.The Concept of Maximizing Marks Hopefully from a FAIL to a PASS or better! This concept is quite similar to Para 3. Many of us have been applying this principle when we were in school. Thus this is nothing new.
  13. These are some considerations: 1. In theory, what you mentioned is acceptable. 2. In practise (NON-Feng Shui considerations), since this is an apartment; and especially if the balcony is full view "of the public". Often, many Management Council of such apartments forbid e.g. hanging clothes at the balcony etc... 2.1. Thus, not sure if one infringe the code of your apartment. And given that this is the frontage; "open air cooking may arise complaints from neighours of the smell from this "balcony" kitchen. 2.2. Most likely there is no proper wash basin at the balcony area. Thus, processed food and washing etc. may have to be done at the original kitchen. 3. You wrote: 1) Having a kitchen in the South will be bad for us? 3.1 Common sense says that if the overall Feng Shui especially the apartment has exceptional or excellent Shapes and Forms; this is a plus point. 3.2 Thus, if the apartment already scores 80 marks, having a kitchen in the South won't kill. 3.3 But if the apartment's OVERALL Feng Shui is at the borderline mark then having a kitchen in the South may be bad. 4. Some homes (apartments) are already polished gem or unpolished gem; having a kitchen in the South can still be acceptable. 5. Therefore, IT DEPEND's! If the apartment is already considered like a 10 year old run down 1,000 cc car; even a flaw like having a kitchen in the south can "KILL". 6. Thus, having a kitchen is NOT CAST in stone.
  14. These are some considerations: 1. The good news is that you are not the first person or persons to face such a dilemma or situation. 2. This has more to do with beliefs or Chinese belief: that if one moves one's bed during pregnancy, then may lead to miscarriage. 3. Thus, there are many who were in your position before. 3.1 Since the idea is not to move the bed during pregnancy; the most common method is that should one move out of the rented place, the pregnant lady should not or no longer enter that bedroom; that's all. 3.2 Since it is a rented home, most likely the pregnant lady would not need to go into that bedroom anymore. 3.3 Even if one removes an existing bed; again, the pregnant lady don't see it being moved and placed in the new home be it at the in-law's place. 3.4 Thus under Para 3.3, there is often no need to give up that bed. Alternatively, if one wants to buy a new bed or sleep on an existing bed (don't move it) at in-laws is still acceptable. 4. There are many others who, face similar situation e.g. rent is up or sold home and need to vacate it. Again, you are not alone. Others have done similar things or situation. So what is there to be at wit's end? As all these things would further add to the burden on your first OBJECTIVE! Good Luck!
  15. The Estuary: Stacks facing the Yishun Stadium may be affected by such a poison arrow(s) see photos.
  16. Through time and "rough use" such wires may even sag as shown in the attached example. Of course if, frequent inspection and adding more cross supports can further help as preventive situation.
  17. Sorry, I am unable to grant you THREE wishes! http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=32634&new= I am a wizard specializing @ DOGS. Call me the DOG WHISPERER instead...
  18. How, one would have wished that the walls can whisper and give one the answers... But theset of 3 x questions under this thread belongs to such a category:- Feng Shui Triage Proper trouble-shooting is required. Any short cuts? YES: Flip or toss the coin: HEADS OR TAILS? There goes part of the answer?
  19. These are some (common sense) considerations: 1. Take the example of a class of students. Majority of the time, the norm is that their results may be like a BELL curve. 1.1. There are always TOP students e.g. Top 1st, 2nd and 3rd. 1.2. There are those in between 10th boy/girl to 20th place. 1.3. There are those 21st to the last boy. 2. It is the same thing. 2.1. Normally in a development, there are excellent to lemon stacks unit. 2.2. Common sense says that if your choice stack (or the unit that one has chosen) can behave:- 2.2.1. Some units are a polished or unpolished GEM. Thus even if it does not suite the breadwinner, it does not really matter that much. 2.2.2. Other stacks / units may range from average luck to even lemons. Of course, if you choose a unit and it happens to have poor Feng Shui be it shapes and forms + flying stars etc.. and furthermore, it is the least suitable to the breadwinner than, it is stacking badly for the person. 3. In addition, these are further considerations:- Summary of Sample Person's (Owner/Breadwinner) Eight House Chart. Direction Location Status suitable for North-West Excellent Very Good: Prime Location, ideal for vitality Front door, beds and religious altars. North Irritation Bad: Petty annoyances, disease, headaches, theft and infidelity. Toilet or kitchen. North-East Health Good: Ideal situation for speedy recovery. Beds, doors, master bedroom and the dining table. West Prosperity Good: The Best location. Money luck and promotion. door, room doors, kitchen door, beds, working desks. East Spook Bad: Uneasy, theft, robbery and financial loss. Storeroom or toilet. South-West Longevity Good: Ideal for health. Beds, bedrooms and dining table. South Death Bad: Poor health, accidents, misfortune and loss. Storeroom or toilet. South-East Disaster Bad: Quarrels, frustration, disputes and legal problems. Storeroom or toilet. 4. In addition, even if the apartment is not suitable to the breadwinner, it can range from Inauspicious to average as shown below:- Type of House Direction of Frontage Excellent House NE1 (22.5-37.4) , NE2 (37.5-52.4) , NE3 (52.5-67.4) , SW1 (202.5-217.4) , W2 (262.5-277.4) , W3 (277.5-292.4) Auspicious House NW2 (307.5-322.4) , NW3 (322.5-337.4) , SW2 (217.5-232.4) , SW3 (232.5-247.4) , W1 (247.5-262.4) , NW1 (292.5-307.4) AverageHouse E1 (67.5-82.4) , E2 (82.5-97.4) , E3 (97.5-112.4) , SE1 (112.5-127.4) , SE2 (127.5-142.4) , SE3 (142.5-157.4) Inauspicious House N1 (337.5-352.4) , N2 (352.5-7.4) , N3 (7.5-22.4) , S1 (157.5-172.4) , S2 (172.5-187.4) , S3 (187.5-202.4) Therefore due diligence should be considered. And there is NO ONE SIZE FITS ALL OR NONE in most cases.
  20. Frankly, how I wish, that : "When one writes three paragraphs, each paragraph ends with a question mark; the answer will automatically appear". If Feng Shui is so simple, then I really don't know what is Feng Shui. Unfortunately, it is not so simple as that. No offence, might as well flip a coin: heads or tails.
  21. Within this link, you should be able to understand this word: LIMITATION The Three-Step-Approach In many instances, limitation simply means: either you face your good direction or....................... under this concept....
  22. Looks like this may be one of the last few ECs before the government make some changes to the EC scheme. This Saturday is the start of the option to purchase....
