  1. From a Feng Shui point of view; fire should not clash with water. As fridge is considered as a metal element: especially when fully closed; it is said that there is no issue for the stove to face a fridge. Provided it does not have a water dispenser as shown in the example. And also, avoid having a wine cooler (see through) glass with bottles of wines facing the stove.
  2. These are some considerations; 1. Many Feng Shui concepts are based on pure common sense. 2. In the sample example; especially for The Minton: 3 bedroom dual key, there are some features that are considered "less desirable" in this development. And many have to do with common sense. 2.1. Living Room TV set sharing the same wall as the Master bedroom bed-head: 2.1.1 Frankly, it depends on various factors like: 2.1.2.Type of TV set and it's "radiation" IF ANY. In the past, some are concerned with TV sets and their EMF strengthemitted by the TV set. Thus, some were very concerned that having a TV set near to our brain cells may not be that healthy. 2.1.3. The above MAY be a valid concern. As even with today's TV sets; if one were to move an EMF meter close to it; the meter would/may jump to very high or max. 2.1.4. Personally, I will never buy a home that uses pure dry wall: as mentioned previously; my first real shock was at The Livia condo @ Pasir Ris. For such a development: it seems only the exterior 4 walls are concrete/pre-cast solid walls. 2.1.5. Everything else is just "partition" board type of material... synonymous with office partitions... If so, I prefer not to sleep with my bed-head sharing the same wall as the living room TV. In Malay, the term may end up as "OTAK Kosong". Or sleeping too long with theEMF from the TV may just zap my brain cells. Not withstanding thattoday, we also had to endure microwaves from our HPs. 2.2 The Fridge, washing machine + stove 2.2.1. Ideally, the fridge in such a unit should be at location marked as "C". And often, most of the time, the washing machine / cum dryer if any should not be next to the fridge or even close to the stove - IF Possible. 2.2.2. Just yesterday, my client wanted to move the washing machine into the kitchen area from her yard. As we know, sometimes, we cannot control the wind (if any). And often, when we scoop the washing machine powder, minute traces may fly all over. Just imagine it flying into or coating a wok or other eating plates or items or coat the doors etc on the fridge. Can be cancerous. 2.2.3. Thus, the interior layout is poorly designed. And the architect must have believed that after earning his/her dues, he/she would not likely ever to buy a unit at the Minton. Thus this doesapply to them: "YOU LIVE THERE (or will be); THEY DON"T" applies... 2.2.4. In Feng Shui, it is acceptable to have a fridge facing the stove. Provided it is not a wine chiller that has glass doors and bottles of wine placed inside. Or a fridge that has a water dispenser on it's door is also not favourable. 3. Marking shown as B. This is not as critical. But based on Shapes and Forms, ideally, one should not see any sharp objects if any between the purple lines (zone). 3.1 As in an unlikely event, based on common sense, if a stranger were to get in; and if there are knifes in full view; it was thought that they may just go grap one and threaten the owners. (But this is very rare ..) 3.2 Thus, this is why, some often say, they don't like to have the main door directly facing the kitchen. Or if one were to hang clothes also, the first impression is to see them... 4. In conclusion: 4.1. As one can see, majority of the above is based on pure common sense. It is up to the individual or stakeholder to weigh whether there are any perceived risks (if any) to them or not. Or some may be abit far fetched like para 3.1.
  3. Do remember to avoid having the bed-head as shown in the attachment. Where the bed-head is close to or share the same wall as bath 2's toilet bowl wc.

  5. 1. In Feng Shui, it is considered inauspicious for the main entrance door to face the dining table. 2. Again, this has very much to do with common sense than actually Feng Shui. Or rather, some attribute it to "in the name of poor Feng Shui". 3. Why common sense? 3.1. Although many living in a condo, don't often leave their main entrance door ajar or opened (fully). If so, many don't feel nice eating and a neighbour pass-by. If so, some may "politely" say hi to their neighbour(s) or cordially "invite" them for dinner. 3.2. Often, we get to see a dining table piled up with "tons" of items : more like a rubbish heap in a visitor's eyes. Thus, when someone walks in the first impression of the house will be the dining table. And if it is an eye-sore... then considered "inauspicious".
  6. Lady, where do you want me to place this Mountain (star)? Erh.... rubbish...
  7. "The best place to enjoy a 1080 pixels resolution view is no less than 6 feet from the source." Those who know, know BEST....
  8. The stacks do not face the junction unlike some newer designed blocks. For example blocks 281 and 284 do not have stacks that face a junction. Location: Toh Guan Road
  9. Has PAC MAN anything to do with the designs of the various blocks of flats found in the attached street directory map? Or was the architect a fan of PAC MAN and wanted to immortalise PAC MAN in his/her design of the block of flats in various parts of Bukit Batok?
  10. Nowadays, there is a major concern of bird flu and bird droppings. Since the 1980's many HDB flats slope anything that looks and feels like a roof. This is to prevent birds resting onto the ledge. With such slopping roof, birds will avoid them like the plaque..
  11. Look what some place on top of their cash register... In this case a range large x 2 (pair) of oranges
  12. Especially on a roof-top of a building; sometimes, it is safer not to have any objects such as a lone tree taller than the building's highest lightning rod. Many a times, I have encountered lighting strikes on tall trees on top of a home or even a penthouse's roof top. Such as shown in the photo. Location: Southaven II condo.
  13. The saying goes: One man's meat is another man's poison... There are tons of numerology calculations. And in this example, the current Prime Minister of Malaysia loves the number "11". For Najib, it all adds up to 11 PETALING JAYA - When Prime Minister Najib Razak announced Parliament's dissolution on Wednesday, it was apparently linked to his favourite number - 11. Datuk Sen Najib's audience with the Malaysian King took place on 3/4/13: The numerals added up to 11 (3+4+1+3), as observed by Deputy Higher Education Minister Saifuddiri Abdullah. When Mr Najib was driven to the palace, he was in a Proton limousine with the number plate WRX 11. He lives in house number 11 in exclusive Tainan Duta in Kuala Lumpur. He was also Pahang's 11th Menteri Besar, serving there from 1982 to 1986.
  14. Three kinds of luck: Heaven, Earth and Human/Man Luck....
  15. As mentioned, earlier. If one considers luck; for the Chinese, it consists of the Holy Trinity of Luck. However, if the 1st two kinds of luck: Heaven and Earth luck sounds greek; There is a third kind of luck: Human or man luck. Hear what some Chinese have to say about this kind of "treatment": http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=27133&new=%3Cbr
  16. Please use the SEARCH feature on the top-left frame of this forum. Can key in terms like "bed against altar". I am sure, you should be able to find quite a lot of information on or similar to this subject.

    Doorway

Frankly, even if the door does not face nice direction; some consider number of fishes. If you want to read up about this topic, one can review this past resource: http://fountain.geomancy.net
  18. Based on pure common sense: "It is no point crying over spilled milk". Equally, no point banging one's head against the wall. Common sense says: The Concept of Maximizing Marks If it is there, what measure or measures are you talking about? You want a miracle to happen is it? Common sense, says, try toimprove in other areas.
  19. 1. If considers it from a geomancy point of view; then it is a holistic approach. 2. A holistic approach consists of three kinds of luck: 2.1. Earth Luck: Feng Shui (Home and office) 2..2. Heaven Luck: born with 2.3. Human and man luck 3. In my opinion, any of the above can change... 3.1 For example, under Earth Luck; one may have to troubleshoot using Flying Star Feng Shui and check the annual stars:- 2013 Flying Star Forecast North 6 1 8 7 5 3 2 9 4 South Take note the following sectors:- Sickness Star this year is at South-West Misfortune/Sickness Star this year is at Center Disputes/Quarrel Star this year is at East Education/Romance Star this year is at South-East Grand Duke this year is South-South-East, 150 Degree. - Avoid sitting facing the grand duke or disturbing him by having renovations. Location in Conflict is East. - Avoid having renovations done opposite the location in conflict. 3.2 This includes, trying to avoid sitting and facing South-South-East 150 degrees when playing majong. 3.3. Under Flying Stars, some of the stars if they are in the wrong locations of your home can also affect your "majong" luck. 4. Heaven Luck. 4.1. Under heaven luck even if you are a rooster but you thought that it would be a great year, but under bazi, it can be totally different in six monthly periods. 4.2. this SAMPLE illustration shows one's luck can change in each 6 monthly periods: SAMPLE ILLUSTRATION ONLY Analysis for Age 22 - 31 (2027 - 2036) Luck (3) [2027 to 2036] is an inauspicious period as it does not favour your 10 yearly Big Luck Period. 20. This development has a distinctive funnel shape. In fact, as I mentioned, one needs to do a proper triage. A client had moved in to a unit (see sample attachment) for three years and I last spoke to them, were doing very well. In fact, he calls me for annual adjustment. The unit is bigger than the one you posted to the forum. In fact, in the past, there are several clients who had upgraded, to other developments from this development. Frankly, very few homes are "gone case" type.
  21. As mentioned, previously if one were to apply Feng Shui, it involves a process known as Triage. To better understand the term Triage; if you have the time, please read thru this link:- http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/Feng_Shui_Triage
  22. In my opinion, in general, under Shapes and Forms, this type of layout is not "ideal". You wrote: "Hi Master, is this a funnel triangle that absorb Qi that is a position triangle as at the gate its small n inside is big? " As to whether this funnel shaped triangle "aborbs Qi" etc... ; frankly QI FLOWis about the FLOW of Qi within the interior in relation to the furniture(s) e.g. partition if any; plus windows that are opened, closed or partially opened. Thus, off-hand, such "claims" you mentioned cannot be justified.
  23. Personally, I don't think Option C is feasible; especially or in particular because of the narrow passage. I equally don't like Option A. Else, one shouldplay the song "Smoke gets in your eyes".
  24. Source: www.scmp.com Incense fumes could do more harm to your health than tobacco smoke It's one of the familiar smells of Asia, from the temple to the family altar, but the next time you are surrounded by a cloud of incense smoke you may want to hold your nose. Research in Taiwan has lent credence to suspicions that the joss sticks and incense that are burned as offerings to the gods may get you to heaven far quicker than you'd like. Medical professionals have long suspected that joss sticks and incense - usually containing a blend of plant extracts and oils - emit harmful fumes when burned. Now, researchers from Taiwan's National Cheng Kung University in Tainan say joss fumes contain particulate matter, gases and organic compounds that could be more harmful than tobacco smoke. "On average, incense burning produces particulates greater than 45 milligrams per gram burned, as compared to 10mg/g for cigarettes," says a report by Cheng Kung University's department of engineering. Researchers studied the make-up and fumes from incense, joss sticks, cones and coils, and analysed smoke from a Taipei temple, which was found to contain high levels of compounds blamed for causing lung cancer. Emissions levels were higher than at a city road junction. The toxins found are harmful to the lungs and can cause allergic reaction to the skin and eyes. Lin Ta-chang, a spokesman for the Cheng Kung group, likens incense and joss-stick fumes to second-hand smoke. "Pollutants emitted from incense burning in an enclosed environment are harmful to human health," he says. "While it is relatively difficult to directly study the effect of incense smoke pollutants on health, several epidemiological studies have suggested that they do cause health problems." Incense burning produces volatile organic compounds such as benzene, toluene and xylenes, as well as aldehydes and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, the study found. The scientists, who conducted their study research in 2008, noted that during some major ceremonies, hundreds or even more than 1,000 joss sticks are burned at the same time. Britain's National Health Service, which reviewed the Taiwanese study, said: "Smoke is smoke, and cigarette smoke is not the only type of smoke that is harmful." A multinational study in 2008 also found that exposure to incense fumes posed significant public health implications. Jeppe Friborg, of the Statens Serum Institut in Copenhagen, and colleagues in Singapore and the US studied associations between exposure to incense and a spectrum of respiratory tract cancers. They sampled 61,320 Singaporean Chinese who were free of cancer and aged between 45 and 74 from 1993 to 1998, studying respondents' living conditions and dietary and lifestyle factors until 2005. They found 325 upper-respiratory tract cancers - including nasal/sinus, tongue, mouth, laryngeal and others - and 821 lung cancers during the follow-up period. The American Cancer Society said at the time that "incense use is associated with a significantly increased risk of upper-respiratory tract cancer" although there was no overall effect on lung cancer. "It also considerably increased the risk in `never' smokers, which points to an independent effect of incense smoke." The Taiwanese researchers also cited a 1996 report in the journal Cancer that showed a high incidence of nasopharyngeal carcinoma in male Hong Kong patients who burn incense, compared with other malignant cases. They found that 74.5 per cent of the nasopharyngeal cancer cases studied and 52 per cent of all other malignant cases were exposed to incense smoke, and concluded that incense smoke could be a factor. Ko King-tim, an engineering professor at City University now in remission from the cancer, says the public must be aware of such risks although he doesn't link his disease with incense-burning. "Most people are not aware of the causes of various cancers. Some are genetic, some are [linked to] substances or stress-induced," says Ko, who created a website for people with nasopharyngeal cancer. "Most people in Hong Kong are unaware of the early symptoms of different cancers. Awareness of these early symptoms could save a lot of lives," he says. "Air pollutants such as incense smoke or car exhaust fumes are hazardous to health, whether [they cause] cancers or other illnesses." Although various "herbal" and "natural" incense options are also sold on the internet, the Taiwanese researchers stopped short of calling for an end to the deeply rooted tradition of burning incense, with Lin recommending devotees "keep the room well-ventilated" while they burn it. "It will effectively dilute indoor air pollutants and hence reduce the risk of exposure." Incense sticks have a slender bamboo stick onto which the mixture of ingredients is attached, while joss sticks come without the stick. Stick incense is the most popular in temples in Asia. While the exact content of incense sticks is a commercial secret, most are made from a combination of fragrant gums, resins, wood powders, herbs and spices, the report says. A typical stick of incense comprises, by weight, 21 per cent herb and wood powder, 35 per cent fragrance material, 11 per cent adhesive powder and 33 per cent bamboo stick. Source: www.scmp.com
