  1. Case Study: Another type of Sick Building Syndrome (SBS) = conCAVE towers at Duo 1. In my opinion, Shapes and Forms Feng Shui does not look favourable towards concave tower blocks. 2. On the contrary, there is no issue if the tower blocks are the usual convex design or the circular design. 3. Majority of many building towers allow excess qi or wind to flow away or distribute more smoothly away from the surface area of the tower:- 4. What about horse shoe design? 4.1 Horse shoe design buildings although do have some concave areas, however, the difference is that the concave areas are "protected by the outer shell of the horse shoe design. This resource was done for CDL prior to the launch / sale of The Tropica condo in the past:- https://www.geomancy.net/content/feng-shui-resources/site-review/the-tropica-condominium/the-tropica-singapore 5. Contrast to Duo (above) and the illustration, below:- [Note: This is for illustration purposes only and in no shape or form an image of Duo. Other than the resemblance to the concave sides of the building!] 5.1. Wind flow by the RED arrows shows that excess qi or wind is unable to flow off the surface of this concave "shell". 5.2. Invisible sha qi as shown can be seen to be able to "penetrate" into the building as shown by the yellow zone. 5.3. Or rather, those seated along the yellow zone would face the greatest impact of such a sha qi. 5.4 This can lead to many health concerns for office workers in this development. Take care! If your company is trying to upgrade to buildings... do not take this lightly... 6. In addition, did you notice that the surface area of each of the window areas has this distinctive pop-up shape. 6.1. It would have been better if such surfaces are smooth to further reduce the sha qi or allow some of the sha qi to be channel out instead of being trapped at the concave surfaces! This ceiling looks more like a nuclear reactor core..
  2. Commonwealth Towers Just T.O.P. Some units in this development has a main door facing the staircase cum household (bomb) shelter. Not ideal, but as there is a requirement that the staircase door has to be closed: thus the main door should never face the stairs directly. As it is inauspicious to do so:
  3. Footnote: I used this bulb for a while. Unfortunately it did not last that long. A mere two months and it went dead. I understand that as fast as it came into the market.. it totally disappeared also... A real disappointment ..
  4. A local popular dish ...with cockles @ Lau Pa Sat In the evenings: the Satay stalls come alive with vendors and their respective clients..
  5. Another bladeless table fan. This time from Japan.
  6. Give me a good reason!
  7. Housing and Development Board (HDB) has announced that it will launch about 17,000 new flats for sale in 2018. The first Build-To-Order (BTO) exercise is in February 2018 with HDB will offering about 3,600 flats in Choa Chu Kang, Geylang, Tampines and Woodlands.
  8. FIVENINE 59 @ Telok Kurau new private apartments Under Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, it is less than ideal to have the kitchen sharing the frontage or main balcony area:
  9. The owner of this home planted several cactus plants outside their fence as a deterrent. Ouch! Location: Serangoon Gardens
  10. Thank you, I have recently been looking for information about this subject for a long time and yours is the greatest I have discovered till now.
  11. Are you a coffee and durian lover? Here goes .. the best of both worlds? Drink your coffee and Erh?.. eat.. sorry.. I mean swallow durian juice? Anyone tried this before?
  12. Just display the menu.. and for less familiar food to appeal to all other races... it’s food name and photo will do! In this example of Indian food.
  13. One trick to entice purchase is to avoid placing a price tag on any item. Plus, forever no need to paste an ugly patch to revive the prices. In no time, the signage will become stuck with amended pieces of unsightly stickers! Thus a reasonable large photo with the description of the food is good enough!
  14. The Georgetown Coffee House in Tampines West uses tasteful advertisements.. Here the saying goes: “Photos tells a thousand words” And literally, not a single word is ever used on this large frontage! And plus brightly lit! If one has seen other signages, must say this is not only smart, clever and clean looking.. ”Our brand + photos of our food” that’s all on the signage” Now this is advertising 101 at it’s finest!
  15. At a defunct Chinese Association building at Sims Avenue / Aljunied French flair...looks more like a French medieval castle gate:-
  16. Circles overlap to form a motif. Used by Georgetown Coffee House:
  17. Near-by sights: One of the oldest Geylang East Industrial Estate; Certis CISCO at Jalan Aififi & Paya Lebar Square. Imagine a plate of nasi Padang for just $2? Most likely from a temple gate:-
  18. In general, Flying Star Feng Shui is based on Compass School of Feng Shui. Naturally, best to use a compass. In modern world, you can check out your local street directory. All street directories have NORTH at the TOP. Thus these two pages are extracted from my book on Flying Star readings:- There are various methods in determining the compass degrees. And in the book; the above is based on a combination of street directory map and a protractor. The book shows one how to take an accurate reading:-
  19. I12 Formely Katong Mall formerly Jo Chiat Market Katong Mall failed spectacularly in the 1990’s and closed in the early 2010’s. It was given an extensive makeover and given new branding as a niche mall in recent years. Yet,the turnover of shops in this mall is high. And even it’s niche food court closed recently... From a Feng Shui point of view; it is less than ideal to be located at a former market area. Then, the market stalls also spill along Joo Chiat Road before the defunct Tung Kin English School. 1966’s map showing the Joo Chiat market: In the above 1966’s streetmap, one can also see the shoreline and the wavy lines at the bottom of it represents the sea. Map of the area In 2018:- Map of 2007 showing the former Katong Mall. The latest I12 or catchy phase for “I want to” shop shares this outline. As this mall underwent extensive A&A works but not totally torn-down:- In fact the boss of Yeo Teck Seng, Mr Yeo which opened an emporium “House of Kitchenwares”.. later went to Hong Kong and committed suicide due to failing business.. especially due to his expansion, there. Many shops and restaurants cane and went including Nados chicken of Malaysia, sporting goods shops; cafes; Challenger.. So fat the two: UOB wealth management and market place is still there.. I would not be particularly excited to buy a property or rent a shop in such an area.
  20. The Simon Road market was once located at Kovan Residences. Did you see the market where now Kovan Residences stood today:- In Feng Shui, it is less auspicious to stay in a location of former slaughter of animals.. Map of year 2007:-
  21. Today’s 2018 map of the area. Notice all the minor roads have been merged. And the new under construction Paya Lebar Quarter will be ready in no time.
  22. Former Geylang Fire Station closes it’s doors in the early 2000’s. Where once these doors opened to allow fire trucks to speed to their scene; the frontage is sunken and now occupied by a five foot walk-way with railings... 1960’s map of Singapore Shopping the location of the former Geylang Fire Station. Roads like Lorong Engku Aman was flatten. And now sits the Paya Lebar Quarter. While the MRT station and Paya Lebar Square is upstream. Only Jalan Afridi is still around where the Certis Cisco HQ stands. The Wak Tanjong Mosque is still there. Part of it is undergoing renovations and repair works. These entrances for the fire trucks are now blocked by a pedestrian walkway and safety railings..
