  1. Every year, there are always some developments that receive it's Temporary Occupation Licence (TOP) a week or two before the Chinese 7th month... Last week, when I visited The Livia, there were only around 4 or 5 units that had managed to moved in before the start of the Chinese 7th month... The rest... remains empty... It is like a ghost town!
  2. Under Symbolism in Feng Shui, it is best not to use blue glass or blue tint on windows....
  3. By Asian standards, this lifebuoy is placed too high! Although it is a good thing to place it high i.e. to avoid people playing aroundwith it; but as a lifesaver, this isdangerous! Hopefully, thiscondo has more lifesaving devices than only this lifebuoy! Please it lower - STU-PIG! Location: The Tropica... 2011 P.S. If this is for real = real lifesaver; it should always be placed at least at an adult's waist level; to ensure that even a 10 year old child is able to get hold of it. This is pure commonsense. If it is merely for decorative purposes.. then... nevermind..
  4. Further to what I had mentioned, earlier; in my opinion, there could be a commonsense "downside" with placing a curtain to cover the toilet door. This downside has more to do with: effort or lazyness and/or hygene. Here, some people, place a curtain and then forget about it! (Install and forget). Within a few weeks, if the curtains are not frequently changed; and the curtains may be a hive of germs. And just imagine your beautiful manly or womanly face were to brush against the curtains... One can even deposit lots of germs from the curtains to your lovely face! If you don't feel comfortable, perhaps, just slam shut the toilet door. At the extreme, if it is a single leaf door; then install a auto-door spring closet to make sure that it closes every time....
  5. In my opinion, usually the furthest a geomancer would go into is if the person e.g. has too yin a chart.. and looking at the entire chart in a holistic way. Other than that, you seldom if ever see geomancers "dwell further into what you had mentioned". Overall: yin = passive and yang = active. I believe that so far, no one has done deep research into people with too yin or too yang a chart.
  6. 1. Friend, have you considered that the summary of elements of each individual changes every 10 YEARS? For example, look at this sample chart. When born his chart or Summary of Elements Looks like this Summary of all the Elements and it's Strength. Element Strength Percentage 3 Water Strongest 40 % 2 Wood Strong 21 % 2 Fire Extremely Weak 5 % 3 Earth Weakest 16 % 2 Metal Weak 16 % Changes in your Five Element Balance for 34 - 43 (2009 - 2018) Water Wood Fire Earth Metal 50 % 10 % 2 % 30 % 7 % Between 34 to 43, his water element jumps to 50 percent. And Earth element also increases to 30 percent. Changes in your Five Element Balance for 44 - 53 (2019 - 2028) Water Wood Fire Earth Metal 22 % 12 % 31 % 9 % 9 % Between 44 to 53, notice that his water element has reduced to 22 percent. While his fire element jumps to 31 percent. Here, he is more likely to have heart problems during this period. Changes in your Five Element Balance for 54 - 63 (2029 - 2038) Water Wood Fire Earth Metal 22 % 41 % 2 % 8 % 8 % Betwen 54 to 63, he has to be careful of wood element (liver, bile and spleen) = 41 percent. Here, one of the most common issues can be diabettes... 2. One of the main issues is that technically, one can even draw monthly or yearly summary charts. 3. Not all Ba zi charts are the same. As often, many different sites or programs can even give different results. 4. There are other considerations.
  7. 1. In my opinion, in the infancy of gene splitting, dna manupulation, there was movie: The Fly (1986) with Jeff Goldblum and Geena Davis. 2. I think there is more hope; if one day, one can manipulate genes than to use the method you mentioned below. 3. Futhermore, what you mentioned, is only static. For example, most likely you copied both charts based on the initial when born chart. There is such thing as : every 10 years, each person's 5 elements changes. Then how? 4. This reminds me of how, in the past, when many doctors did not know that there is such thing as O positive (negative); ABetc.. blood group. 4.1. And it is akin to trying to connect a tube between two persons in the hope of giving transfusion that way. If lucky both parties blood group match. If not the transfusion is toxic to the the person receiving the blood!
  8. Yes, you are right to point out that the poison arrow (concrete beam edge) in my opinion exerts around 1 metre range of sha qi or poison arrows. I only gave a quick glance of the layout plan; 1. Standing at the main door when looking into the kitchen, should not have a glimpse of sharp objects like knifes or scissors.. as based on Shapes and Forms, this is considered inauspicious. 1.1. While based on commonsense, it is rare but if someone were to run into the home, sees the knives; grap one and go threaten the family members... (More on commonsense, here). 2. In the event that the dining table can be seen thru the corridor of the main door area and orbedroom 3, then if the dining table faces e.g. bedroom 3's door; and there are sharp object(s) such as a knife or scissors; then symbolically, it could mean health or accidents e.g. cuts .. I think there are more....
  9. This informative signage is placed amongst a bed of hibiscus at the newly TOP Livia condo at Pasir Ris Grove, Singapore Hibiscus Court Family Name: Hibiscus rosa-sinensis member of the Malvaceae family Common Name: In Singapore it is often called the bunga raya or "flower of celebration" This plant with several hundred species is believed to have an Asian origin, hence the name rosa-sinesis which means "Rose of China". More details can be found when we look at the Greek word for Hibiscus, which means "Mallow" and therefore links the name directly to the Malvaceae family. Hibiscus Tiliaceus or also called Sea Hibiscus is commonly found in Singapore. All over the world, Hibiscus is available as tea. It helps clear up nose congestions and prompts proper kidney functions as well as reducing fevers. In Malaysia it was used to help cure epidemics and all other kind of diseases. Whereas in China, Hibiscus was particulary used because of the juice you get from petals and flowers which make a popular dye for hair and eyebrows. This was then believed to be passed to the Arabs and the Portugese. In Jamaica they use to polish their shoes with the large petals, this is why Hibiscus sometimes is reffred as the Shoe Flower. The bright and colourful flowers are worn by women in the Pacific Islands to show their status of being singple. Hibiscus rosa-sinensis is found in abundance throughout the country, and for this very reason, was chosen to be the national flower (in 1960) by Malaysia's first Prime Minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman
  10. Based purely on Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, Fig 2 is considered as not in harmony with the door frame of the bedroom. And furthermore, it creates what is known as a "zebra crossing" effect. Where the floor panels seems to flow against the passage into the bedroom area. Please see attachment...
  11. Thus in the attached illustration of a TOP-VIEW Fig. 1, it shows a more harmonious flow of the "capping frame" with the way the floor tiles were laid vs the attachment showing TOP-VIEW Fig. 2.
  12. 1. Again, this laying of floor board laminate especially corssing the path of the bedroom doorway can also be explained via "visual" commonsense. 2. Please see attachment: 3. Just imagine, the top-down view of Figure 2 or Fig. 2. 4. Often a "capping" frame is placed on a raised laminate flooring so that when one enters the bedroom doorway, one would not trip on the unlevel surface. 5. Thus it would be visually appealing if the floor board laminate "flows" with this capping frame.. vs what is shown in the attachment Fig 2 (Top-view).
  13. What you mentioned has more to do with "Nice-to" have. Frankly, nothing to do with Feng Shui what so ever. It is like personal preference: if you want to"do it" go ahead.Asit is not a MUST-do sort of thing. And mostly, this is a freecontrolled country... but there is no law to govern such things...
  14. Oh! I forgot! This is a gentle reminder... It is totally unfair to look at your auspicious date only, hor! I mean, if the house belongs to the two of you, you should look at combined auspicious dates... Again, it won't be fair the the family members rite? One must also look at auspicious dates for family members: children and parents if they are staying with us.. Oh! Don't forget the pets also!
  15. I am very glad that you understand, now that putting up superfical talk on the subject in relation to all "western" talk or noises is not the best way to go. As it will further confuse many others reading it. Thus, unless one can claim to be an expert in this field and perhaps write adoctoral thesis that benefit mankind.. in Singapore, our current president has termed this simply"noises". What people want are facts not noises.
  16. Further to what I had mentioned; the link below is a useful Paradigm or model to use to try to understand whether a concept can be linked to pure commonsense. http://www.geomancy.net/wiki/The_Three-Step-Approach#What_is_the_Three-Step_Approach.3F Posted in: Info :: Feng Shui Tips & Guidelines Posted on: Fri, 11 Jan 2002, 21:03 PM
  17. There are various varieties of bamboos. These bamboos were recently planted at the newly T.O.P. condo : Livia at Pasir Ris. Unlike trees that have a single tree trunk; bamboos grow and multiply in clusters. Some matured bamboo clusters are much thicker than the one shown in the photos. As bamboos contain pockets of "spaces" or "air"; just imagine, if the bamboos were not properly maintained, e.g. cut-off partially, it could easily contain or rather retain stagnant water. And thus as a result become breeding points for mosquitoes.. In many situations, snakes.. may take refuge also in the undergrowth of bamboo stocks.. Again, the above explaination; is based purely on: Common sense! For example, some people felt that the Chinese invented compartments in ships.. such that in the event of one or more compartments in a ship being flooded; it may still not sink. And some say that most likely the Chinese took this concept from the way larger bamboo trees subdivide their compartments... I read that bamboo is a problem in back and side yards (but good in the front yard) - that it leads to money problems and effort gone to waste. We live in housing provided to us so cannot make changes to the yard. If bamboo is a problem in those areas, how about burying metal coins to control? We also have a (very little used) street pointing at our front window (which faces west). I've hung an eight-pointed gold star (actually a Christmas tree ornament) in our entry right by the window. Is there anything I can do to deflect the sha qi at the angle it points at the window? Thank you for your help!
  18. There are many trellises around the newly TOP Livia condo @ Pasir Ris Grove... Some of these trellis "spikes" are aimed towards the ground floor units of CERTAIN units. However, most of these trellis are fortunately.. too far away...
  19. Appreciate if you can make the effort to re-read my last reply to you. Everything is stated clearly in that thread.
  20. These are some consideration:- 1. The advantage of the pie chart method is that it is suppose to "pin-point" extractly the centrepoint or center-of-gravity. Thus we know the "proper" centre of the house. 2. Frankly, it does not take much commonsense if one literally wants to know the size of the middle sector. 3. Actually quite simple. Again, this is another question that uses commonsense vs cow sense? 4. If you are so concerned with the sectors; using logic; what is stopping you from super-imposing say a 9 grid area into the same pie chart? 5. Commonsense says that the 9 grid is good for such things even in your layout plan. 6. Again, don't need a cow sense geomancer to point the way. Such things are non-geomancy or Feng Shui. It is pure cow sense! 7. Thus, it is the thing.. some of us think that just because it is Feng Shui related; everything must ask a geomancer. Logic, logic and logic... Thank you. The Cow Sense geomancer
  21. These are some considerations: 1. Items Pineapple and Huat Kueh (Fa Gao) 1.1. Bottom of the instructions will indicate that these should preferably be removed after the third day i.e. on the fourth day. 1.2. Especially for those flooring is completed and such as marble or granite; should always bring along a container to place the pineapple. Why? This is commonsense. Some over ripe pineapple, may ooze their juice and it could STAIN expensive marble or porous granite tiles.... 1.3. For all these items; they may / could be eaten or thrown away... (if not appertising then commonsense says throw them away)... never given away e.g. to the workers.. as symbolically this is akin to giving away one's wealth. 1.4 Thus "unfortunately" more often than not, they are thrown away) .. not left below a tree for the dogs or cats... or rats or cockroaches... Singapore is suppose to be a "beggar" free country so.. no issues with this group of people ... 2. Germinating bean sprout... 2.1 This has more to do with commonsense. 2.2 If one is not starting renovations soon or not moving in to a completed home, can leave the germinating bean sprout but if visiting the home remember to "water" it ... 2.3. Since this is a vegetable and not a plant; often vegetables can only last 1 to 2 weeks the most. Commonsense says that don't expect it to sprout into a tree! 2.4. Since it is non-lasting, after 1 or 2 weeks; throw it away. So far, I have yet come across any silly fool who had brought it home or to their parents to "fry Cha Keow Teow" with it. There is always a first, if anyone wants to do so... But don't say the idea, came from, here.
