1966, the Sunhaven plot was a piece of virgin land. A plus point: as there were no cemeteries or market on this land.

Chong Pang Chinese style Satay stall at Changi Village
Cecil Lee replied to Cecil Lee's topic in Current Affairs & Lifestyle
Malaysian style Chinese satay is similar to Singapore’s. Just that many Singapore satay sellers nowadays find it both costly and troublesome to mince pineapple. Here, this Malaysian Satay stall adds the definitive minced pineapple that can be seen in that small peanut sauce: The yellowish item. Photo: 10 sticks of mutton satay -

[13.] Chinese Altar: Dimension for Ancestor Altar Table
Cecil Lee replied to Bee Pooh's topic in General Help
Please note that there is another side to the Chinese altar. And yes! It has to do also with common sense. The rationale is simple. Other than those placed on the floor; altars especially for other gods e.g. Guan Yin etc.. are always at least 126cm plus minus. The next best range is approximately 42" or 35" in height. But this is never used for the simple reason that it is WITHIN REACH of a playful child's hand. Can't blame a 3 or 5 year old child if they stretch their hands and........ swipe the whole altar down... It is not like Humpty Dumpty (HD) had a great fall.. Here, one is not talking about HD.. Chinese deity(ies). This is not the same. In addition, such an altar cannot face a dining table.... -
Charcoal is revered even displayed prominently in this Hong Kong style roast food court stall Charcoal symbolises a valuable commodity. And for such a restaurant.. they want to imply also that meat roasted in a charcoal stove normally gives off an added aroma not found in electric or gas fired stoves..

If this was 1966, The plot of Twin Vew would have been the source of Sungei (River) Pandan: And West Coast Village would have been 8 o’clock to Twin Vew’s South west direction. And Kampong S. Pandan is at Twin Vew’s 6 ‘o’clock or South. At that time, the railway is just directly above PARC Riveria. Thus this would account for this area’s liveliness.

Two most well known Compass makers
Cecil Lee replied to Cecil Lee's topic in Feng Shui Tips & Guidelines
Environmental factors can significantly impact compass readings accuracy When taking compass readings for Feng Shui, environmental factors can significantly impact accuracy. Materials such as cement flooring embedded with wire mesh, standing close to walls, or being on a partial concrete and grass surface can distort the compass due to magnetic interference. Key points to consider: - Cement with wire mesh: Reinforced concrete often contains steel mesh or rebar, which generates magnetic fields and can deflect a compass needle. - Proximity to walls: Standing near walls, especially those with metal supports or wiring, can cause the compass to give inaccurate readings. - Mixed surfaces: Standing on areas that combine concrete and grass (or earth) can cause uneven influence, as the compass might react to the magnetic properties of the concrete or embedded metals more than to the natural ground. Best practices: - Take readings outdoors: Try to avoid standing directly above concrete, especially reinforced concrete, and keep away from building walls. Open grassy areas are ideal. - Distance matters: When you must take readings near a structure, step as far away as practical to minimize interference. - Multiple checks: Take several readings in different locations to confirm consistency. If readings vary, trust the ones taken away from surfaces or structures that might influence the compass. - Quality compass: Use a good-quality, calibratable compass that can adjust for local magnetic anomalies, as previously discussed. By following these methods, you can avoid the common pitfalls of environmental interference and ensure more reliable Feng Shui compass readings. -
