  1. 1. Frankly, one has to adopt a holistic approach. 2. As mentioned in many previous messages; one has to consider:- 2.1. Heaven Luck 33.3 percent 2.2. Earth Luck 33.3 percent 2.3. Human or Man Luck 33.3 percent Total luck = 99.99999 = 100 percent 3. No need for me to explain all these; one can find out more from previous messages. 4. Furthermore, what one means by having too much water elements? 4.1. Even if one considers the Ba zi; there are two ways of looking at it:- 4.1.1. One's element and strength. For example a STRONG water person. 4.1.2. Or please see attachment. In a detailed ba zi chart; one can find that during different stages of life the element and strength also changes. Thus, it is too general to say that one is having too much water? But when? 10 years old? 50 years old? 4.1.3 Therefore, for any layperson; it is difficult to implement any balance. 5. Unless one has available a detailed ba zi chart; then you may have to look at other luck areas also: Earth (Feng Shui) and Human (Man luck) factors. 6. As mentioned, in previous forum messages; each of these three luck is only 33.3 percent of the total luck x 3 = 99.999 or 100 percent.
  2. There are few considerations:- 1. Commonsense Feng Shui or literally speaking simply common-cowsense. 2. Sometimes the toilet bowl or wc shares the same wall as the wall of a bedroom. Here, a toilet does have sewerage pipes. It is due to this that it is not good to sleep NEXT to a sewerage pipe. E.g. sewer pipe embedded into the wall and one place one's face next to the opposite site of the wall. 3. Some don't like the bed too close to the toilet bowl. As if the lid is closed position; and if there are gaps in the seat; the micro-droplets will fly further and may even deposit onto the bed, bed-sheet etc... 4. The above are based more on cowsense right? 5. If none of these can occur in your baby girl's bedroom; then it is not an issue.
  3. 1. You can always check Free auspicious dates for the NEXT 30 days; here:- http://dates.geomancy.net/ or dates.geomancy.net 2. Do take note that for the Chinese; it is considered inauspicious to move-in (even for a new office) DURING the Chinese (lunar)7th month even if any of the dates are auspicious and falls in the Chinese (lunar) 7th month. 3. The dates are clearly stated as "As it is".
  4. Under Symbolism in Feng Shui; why is it considered inauspicious to hang Bird paintings or photos facing a dining table? Hmmm... why???? tell me why? Erh... if want to know the secret.. I have to shoot you first!
  5. This altar is located in a coffee shop in an industrial zone (Tampines Industrial Park off Safra Tampines). What makes this altar "unique" is a beautiful back-wall laminated mural that reflects light off it. It also has a typical roof following many traditional altars. Nowadays, such altars are less common in Singapore homes especially those that have a roof above the deity's head.
  6. This is a typical Earth god altar. Where the altar is placed at ground level. Following Cantonese tradition; did you notice that right in frame; there are 5 cups each x 2? Cantonese dialect group belief that there are "5 spirits" i.e. every cardinal point plus centerpoint has a guardian or god each: North god, South god, East god, West god and God of the Centre. Alternatively, some place five types of fruits and 5 each to pacify the "5 spirits".
  7. If one has the time, should read thru this link:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-four.htm The additional information in the above link was added to clarify similar confusions as yours. However, these were very old resources in the 1999 era. Where there were lots of postings of such nature during that time...
  8. 1. In my opinion, there were many postings on this subject as far back as 1999. 2. There are a few considerations: 2.1. Looking at literally with a compass (sector). 2.2. General statements 2.1.In general; the fundamental description is: North = black tortise South = Phoenix or bird; East = Green colour = Green Dragon and West = White = White Tiger. 2.1.1 Thus the above is the general idea behind what you mentioned. 2.2. General statements: Some of these general statements use some of the information above: e.g. GREEN Dragon and or White Tiger and mix it with general statements like LEFT = GREEN dragon and RIGHT = White tiger. 2.2.1. Actually this LEFT thing and RIGHT thing is again general statements. Where in general if one is facing SOUTH; to the LEFT is of course the EAST! and to the RIGHT = WEST! That is all.
  9. Bukit Panjang is Malay for "a long spread of hills". It is also the name of part of a range of low hills that run from Mandai, in the north of Singapore to Bukit Timah in the south. Forty years ago, the area was occupied by farms, granite quarries and fatories that produced household goods. There was a shoe factory, a factory for canning food and a dairy farm owned by supermarket chain Cold Storage, after which Dairy Farm Road was named. Bukit Panjang Village was found at a roundabout that linked Woodlands, Bukit Timah and Choa Chu Kang roads. In the 1980s and 1990s, the Government cleared the area around Bukit Panjang Village and built Housing Board flats. The names of roads and dirt tracks around the village, such as Jelebu, Segar, Jelapang, Petir, Senja, Pending and Fajar, were revived when Bukit Panjang New Town was built. In 1999, they were also used to name the stations in the LRT system (attachment) that connects with Choa Chu Kang MRT station. In 2015, look out for the Bukit Panjang MRT station, which will be the start of the new Downtown Line. It will be located between Ten Mile Junction and the Bukit Panjang LRT stations.
  10. These are some of the considerations: 1. In general; it is best not to use BLUE colour even if it is light blue in a kitchen. This is on the extra-safe-side. While BLACK or grey can be considered as generally - neutral - or OK. 2. Besides the texture or colour of the kitchen laminates; the next largest metal element in a kitchen is actually a refrigerator. As when it is in a closed position; it's external "mass" is one big metal element. Thus frige in white or silver or grey are often a safe-bet.
  11. At the moment, I have lots of Can or cannot buy to handle and have even turned away a few cases. Therefore, the caricature below... follows..
  12. You can always use this free calculator: http://www.geomancy.net/reports/free-report/freerpt-element.htm As it is not so simplisitic to say you have 3 earth element etc... even each earth element does have a percentage range of 0 to 100 percent. And the above free report will provide you the answer.
  13. Further to what I had mentioned; for the benefit of users who have read this posting:- http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/Commonsense_Approach#Can_I_install_a_bunk_bed_for_my_children.27s_bedroom.3F The above link simply suggests that a regular type of bunk bed is a non-issue for concerned parents.
  14. 1. Frankly, you have a point, here. 2. This type of design is not like the regular kind of double-decker bed we normally associate with. 3. It does remind me of some of the condo developments where part of the "head" area has a lowered concrete portion. 4. From a sha qi perspective: usually the "test" is the load-bearing kind of beam. Where the beam carries a load. And this beam is a mixture of both steel rods and cement. 5. This bottom bed (if the bed-head) is where it is; is technically kinda of like those under Para 3 type but of a "softer" material i.e. plywood material. In my opinion; less of a concern. 6. But, seriously, it is anyone's guess; as in the past like in the 1960's onwards; till now; don't often see such a bed-head. 7. If one wants to place it safe; then perhaps; shift the bed-head to the uncovered area and child's legs within the "beam-of-sorts". 8. Frankly and honestly.. it's also something new to me - and I really have no experience what-so ever in this area. Thanks for sharing this layout. If you have not pointed it; I would not notice it, also 9. If in doubt; since this photo shows it is in a show-room; then best not to consider such a bed-frame.
  15. These are some considerations: 1. In your case, it is better to go by personal feel or feelings. (At worse, this is known as "trial-and-error" or in today's Feng Shui); it should be given the dubious distinction of the term "trial-BY-error" method. Why? 1.1 Traditional Feng Shui not only looks at your ba zi; but in addition to this things like Flying Stars and the "stars" in your bedroom - good or bad. 1.2 Look at it this way: 1.2.1 In order to obtain your personal Ba zi information e.g. weak water person; one's date (& even time of birth) is needed. 1.2.2 This is the same for your home. Your home has it's own birth-date and BIRTH-CHART. 2. Therefore, without the later 1.2.2; than please refer to Para 1, above: OOPS! Trial-by-error type of Fung Sway...
  16. Further to what I had mentioned: Given that many of us have a "freedom" of choice:- 1. Not one but many different houses 2. If possible; try to avoid (if possible) avoid choices that looks like a U or L.
  17. 1. For Can or Cannot buy; often, someone will ask me "Is this house favourable (to me?)? 2. In my opinion; such a question is like trying to throw stones and hope that it hits something. 3. Realistically; in order to make a judgement; often the proper question(s) are:- 3.1. How is this house compared to my existing home? and/OR 3.2. How is this house compared to house A, B and C. 3.3. Thus, how to compare a MONO (single) home with (what)? 4. Thanks for the sketch. VERY ROUGHLY, it seems that it should either be a U-shape house. Of course, without say photos; Can't really tell whether it is a proper U or L shape. 4.1 As some walkways have openings while others don't have. If it has openings, then air could flow thru.. 4.2 Thus, maybe in this case, it could be a L shaped home. Whatever it is, U or L shaped homes ranked LOW under Shapes and Forms Feng Shui (if we set aside the Flying Star - another set of considerations).
  18. In my opinion, the base star is less of an importance. Thus both the mountain and water star is often looked at more closely;
  19. Clue: Yin = even number While Yan = odd number
  20. Frankly, Feng Shui is a holistic approach. And without going thru any Triage or trouble-shooting; it is not fair to pin-point the sink as the culprit (be it major or minor). As I had mentioned, previously:- 1. Shapes and Forms: not just the four walls of your home; the exterior does play an important and vital role in the Feng Shui of a home. 2. Often, a home has around more than 3 or 4 major leaks to cause a drain. 3. Kindergarten Feng Shui; In the past, such practices prevail. Where North = career etc... But this is 2011. Such practises should not be recurring. Thus unless a proper Triage or investigations is done; no one really knows the main cuase of your "leak"
  21. How is our Auspicious Dates Analysed? Please be advised that our Auspicious Dates are choosen based on the following factors:- Key Alamac influence - is considered (ie whether day clashes / harms / punishes with the current year). Note: This isn't the most important influence as this only denotes a generate day's influence. ie even if the day itself is good or bad it does not mean that everyone on this planet will enjoy the same auspicious or inauspicious influence. ie tung shu/alamac day is inauspicious Wood Rat day, but if the person is Strong Water person, this day benefit that person a lot more. Suitability to Ba Zi - Whether the day is suitable to the ba zi is very important, as a inauspicious Tung Shu / Alamac date does not mean it won't benefit the person. Combinations or Clashes to Ba Zi - Whether the day is suitable to the ba zi is very important, as a inauspicious Tung Shu / Alamac date does not mean it won't benefit the person. Special Significance - Whether the day is like Qing Ming etc. Most people choosing wedding dates would not want to marry in Qing Ming month. Overall Analysis - Suitability to ba zi of one or two person, whether any clashes, any overall significance plus finally tung shui/alamac influence. Often it is very hard to find one that can fix all factors, so as long as most influence are considered auspicious, that is a good day for you. Because our dates considers the above factors, as such the dates analysed are extremely personalised to individual person(s) as it considers the individual Ba Zi. This means the dates are your very own individual good or bad dates. As such, no one/two person(s) will have the same good or bad dates. As such, the dates analysed for you will not necessary be similiar to a general Tung Shu forecast which usually does not consider the individual's bazi. Therefore, even if the Tung Shu forecast says that it is a good day, but if your own bazi clashes with the day, it may not be as good as a less auspicious Tung Shu date but more suitable or does not clash with your bazi. This holds true for wedding dates, move-in dates and dates for any auspicious events. Thus generic is being too simplistic. How can a single date be inauspicious for everyone? Might as well the nation declare a curfew and keep everyone from doing a specific activity.
  22. These are some considerations: 1. Both toilet directly above bed-head and kitchen below bed are considered as "commonsense" Feng Shui. 2. Why? 2.1. Fire rise-upwards. And there are concerns of a firebreaking out in the kitchen and fire rising towards the masterbedroom (bed area)= kinda of like being cooked. 2.2. What is worse if the piping is directly above the bed. If it does leak... think aboutwhat kind of juice will flow downwards towards the bed.
  23. You wrote: "My only problem is, they are charging 3k+" This is not your only problem. In my opinion, it is BULL-SHIT.
  24. These are some considerations: 1. Traditionally, the stove is often lower than the height of the sink. 2. However, especially in Singapore, there are already more than 3,000 over condominiums (not inclusive) of landed properties. And if the stove and sink are on the same plane or location; they are of similar height). Therefore, having the sink higher than the stove is no longer a primarly concern. 3. Thus taking a cue from Para 2; both the sink and stove can be on the same level. 4. Many condominiums use close to or equal to 34 inches for the stove cum sink table top. 5. The best is to apply 34 inches as a standard table height. This is often the "smarter" choice. As often; if we do specify say 33 inches. This is acceptable. But, if the contractor somehow makes a boo-boo or mistake: such as did not give allowance for the floor tiles etc... or if the floor tiles are slanted, then the table top could even yo-yo between 33 inches and downards! 6. Thus on the safe side; 34 inches is good; because even if the contractor makes a mistake OOPS!; there is a variance of 1 inch below it = 33 inches OR one inch higher = 35inches. 7. Therefore anyheight betweenon or 33 inches and not higher than 35 inches is good enough!.
