  1. 1. Traditional Feng Shui uses both Shapes and Forms and Compass School of Feng Shui. 2. Since your "Shapes and Forms" is always changing on a ship, logically this concept does not apply to a moving ship. 3. In addition, on a moving ship, compass direction(s) is always changing, equally, Compass School, does not apply. 4. At the higher level is the Yin and Yang concept. Thus this is the most relevant i.e. when time for sleep, see if your home on the ship is cosy enough. And in the day-time usually during work, you should be on the ship's deck or command centre?
  2. 1. Although, if you go for a full ba zi analysis, it will tell significantly your 'traits' and types of career - this is only a general comment. 2. Usually, go for your feel. And in business; much has to do with the business model .... Quote: Anonymous wrote: I am a wood dragon. Born in 30/4/1964. I opened an internet cafe but business is very slow. I am thinking of closing it by end of this month. Do you think it is advisable?
  3. 1. The holistic method is to maximize the three main luck factors: 1.1. Heaven Luck - the question you asked lies within this area 1.2 Earth Luck - Feng Shui of your home and even office surroundings 1.3 Man or Human Luck 2. What you had mentioned earlier that your five element breakdown shows that you have zero water, zero wood etc... this is often "corrected" by some parents or grand parent going to a geomancy to try to get a CHINESE name balanced to or harmonised to the person. As you are aware some people change their name later part of their life perhaps as their parent did not have the luxury of checking out one for them earlier in life. 3.For a strong yin metal, knowing this helps in situations like, which home is favourable to the person based on Ba zi analysis, good colours for the home, even colour of car can be considered, here. 4. In general the above are the more common senarios where one can take advantage off. Otherwise, have to depend more on other types of luck: Feng Shui of the home and Man or Human luck factors... Quote: a strong yin metal. My five element breakdown is as follows: Water - 0 (0%) Wood - 0 (0%) Fire - 3 (38%?) Earth - 1 (13?) Metal - 4 (50%?) It would seem that my favorable elements are: Water and Fire and unfavorable ones are Earth and Metal.
  4. 1. I am not going to go into all the nitty gritty details. 2. As you have read and understood that a kitchen especially a stove at NW = "Fire at Heaven's gate". 3. In addition, some books will say that based on the "current" trigram, HW = Heaven hexagram or "Heaven's Luck". 4. Thus having a stove at NW will affect Para 2 and 3. (Full-stop).
  5. Furthermore, changing a name does not truly help if one is not going to use THAT Chinese name. For example, if the person was found to have a suitable Chinese name : Yi Zhen but all your life you are called or known as Dirty Harry, then it does not make a difference if you change your name to Yi Zhen nor thru deed poll on official document. Your friends will still call you "Dirty Harry"!
  6. 1. Traditionalname analysis based on the Five elements concept is based on the strokes of mandarin characters (Chinese Big 5 character - not short form).... andthat each Chinese character can be classified as under each of the five elements. 2. There is NO precedence where each English word can be classified under each of the five elements. Usually, the authentic method is to find a good Chinese name. And convert the name to pin yin. (Not the other way around). 3. Likewise, there is no authentic basis for a business to check that it's English name is in order. But rather, authentic name analysis can only be done with typically all Chinese set of letters.
  7. Further to what I had mentioned, below, please click the attachment below for a graphic illustration of what I meant. Cecil L. wrote: 1. There is a more accurate method: either or both: using the Street directory (of any country) AND/OR google map. 2. All proper street directories are read : Vertical = North or zero degrees and bottom is 180 degrees. 3. All Google maps also have vertical = North and bottom 180 degrees South. 4 Usually, if one can zoom in to the closest zoom under google, one ca even see the outline of say your apartment. Once you can determine the outline or know distinctly which road it faces, you can use a protractor align it to the North-South and then determine where the unit is location.
  8. 1. Recently, I was tasked to do a town planning (severalthousand ha) for a third-world country. For such a large size, Shapes and Form Feng Shui is the first consideration. 2. It is not true that Flying Star applies only to "after" built up. Locally, many Singaporeans, get us to either do a major Additions and alternation works (A & A). And Flying Star is used widely especially to determine: where qi comes into the home or tap good qi; "lock up" bad qi etc.... 3. In past forum messages, Flying Star chart is like a pie, it can it be a small one or extended out towards the properties marker line or zone. 4. For a plot of land, even if we use Flying star, Shapes and Forms must still be considered at every stage. For example: is it feasible to have the main door changed? 5. Both 8 Mansions (Eight House) and Flying Star belongs to the same Compass School Feng Shui. And the basic understanding is that Flying Star takes into account time dimension. While 8 Mansions does not consider time dimension. 6. Thus, applying Flying Star appropriately can being significant benefit or downfall. Thus, should be classified as " MUST-HAVE" or "MUST-TRY-TO-USE". 7. On the other hand; 8 mansions is considered as "NICE-TO-HAVE". Even under 8 mansions, the priority is: "If possible, bedroom could be in one's good sector". And nice-to-have we sleep with our head facing a good sector. 8. Thus it is true that mountain and water star numbers react under a 81 combination system. And in many situations, even if a person is an East group, but even if the home is a say NE or SW under the current Period 8, such homes may compound and bring better luck than say a home that is North facing to an East group person. As North homes does not have as good Flying Star qi under Period 7 nor 8. 9. When modelling a home, there is no such thing as a perfect home, but rather "as Feng Shui friendly as" possible. Is a better statement.
  9. 1. There is a more accurate method: either or both: using the Street directory (of any country) AND/OR google map. 2. 10. 1. Traditionally, a weak yin earth person's - one of the best careers has to do with the fire element. 2. Food technologist in general can be associated with earth element. If one is a weak earth person, then as a food technologist, it is like adding earth to your weak earth. Here, under ba zi analysis, the career is acceptable, but just an average career - i.e. akin to placing food on the table. Quote: Anonymous wrote: I am a weak yin earth person based on the analysis. I am now looking for job in Singapore. I am from Malaysia, city - Kuching. I am anxious about my career path as I don't know what career best suit me that satisfy me. I am confused about my direction. I studied food technologist, have a degree of it. However, I dont know i should go into this field or choose another field of career for advancement. If change field, Icant see howmy career in future will turn to. But if stick to my field I dont know it suit me or not.
  11. 1. I assume that you are referring to a landed property. 2. For landed property, imagine where is the road driving into your property and where is your main gate. 3. Usually is your main gate and main entrance door the same facing direction i.e. when you open your main entrance door is this the same direction as the main gate? And in addition, your living room and frontage of home is at this location. 3.1 If YES, then stand inside the house looking outwards and take a compass reading. This is your facing direction. 3.2 If NO, determine where is the frontage of your home. And take a reading from inside the home e.g. porch or patio looking outwards. 4. Obtain a layout plan and plot 'the center of the home". If the home is rectangular, then where two diagonal lines meet is the centrepoint of the home.If the home has too many corners, paste a copy of the layout plan onto a cardboard, cut out the outline and try to balance the entire layout plan onto a nail to find the centre of gravity by balancing the enitre cardboard onto the nail should be the centre of gravity.
  12. 1. The best method is to evaluate using Flying Star Feng Shui to assess favourable location(s) for the sceptic tank and water tank. 2. After applying the Flying Star Feng Shui; Shapes and Forms of the property in relation to the interior / exterior layout of the building should next be considered. This includes, where the piping of the sewerage lines will enter or flow into the home - avoiding passing thru below a bedroom etc........ 3. The "last" or not necessary must-have but rather, nice-to-have the sceptic tank at one's unfavourable - eight mansion's sector. 4. Where possible, drinking water tank should not be located so close to the sceptic tank in-case of contaminating it. 5. In addition, the location of sceptic tank should not interfere with the key drainage out of a home. In a professional Feng Shui assessment, even the way water flows from right to left or left to right of a home is critical for : wealth (becoming rich); wealth/ power (authroity or occupying high positions )etc....
  13. 1. Possible for a Block of flats. Here, especially the frontage of all units face a specific direction. 2. For a landed property, it depends: 2.1. If the neighbours are in-close proximity; say each is a small plot of land, your "south" frontage may be facing another plot's side-view. Here, if one is "unlucky", one may even get to face the toilets of the neighbour or even their backyard (some) with messy storage and hanging laundry. In addition, one will be in big-trouble, if the neigbhour's home roof is triangular shaped and have several of these "attacking" your "south" facing home. 2.2.Try to plot the Flying Star and take the opportunity to "activate" say the double #8'sby utitlising the space say for the living room etc... 2.3. If the south facing happens to be overseeing a wonderful view e.g. clear space oroverlooking a lake, (no obstruction); then by building the living room, patio etc... at this south side... can if done properly, be considered as a south facing home. 3. Usually, if the plot of land is sandwiched at the sides: south and north, then, there is a higher probability that the frontage may be "shifted" to west instead, especially if the back of the house has clear space and overlooking no current development. Should there be future development at thewest or back-side, then, it may change the situation. Quote: Can you build a south facing house for an east group personin an east facing lot? I hope this time you would be able to give some feedback or comments on this. Thank you very much.
  14. For such questions, it is good to make an effort to draw a simple sketch. Else, frankly, I don't really understand what u wrote.... Anonymous wrote: The house that we are purchasing has a stairs that face a window, next to the window is our front door. Should i be concern about this?
  15. 1. In my opinion, from the top view, it does not look as bad or does not seem to have any issue. Perhaps, the normal view may show some issue or concern which we may not be aware off. 2. Should there be a concern or issue(s); some of the standard cure(s) could be:- 2.1. Gates that perhaps have wooden planks on them such that the block the offending view from "hurting" the main door. 2.2. Tilting door. (Warning... this should be done by an FS expert). 3. Otherwise, a small road is "peanuts" as compared to major issues like a "T" junction etc.... Y S. wrote: Is that a fengshui problem of this house? The front door is facing a very small road in a community. How to solve it? Thanks.
  16. 1. In my opinion, scientifically, so long as the "disease" is not contagious - spread thru air, then frankly, there is no scientific basis other than what you had mentioned based more on a "taboo". 2. It makes more sense to say to that it would be most likely the concern that such impressions or a sudden situation e.g. someone having a heart problem or in some cases, some people "foam thru their" mouth prior to death. 3. Thus, we do not inadvertenly want to "scar" someone so young with such "a horrible" - painful situation endured by others. 4. stand by dentures all these are merely "old folk" theories, that's all. Anonymous wrote: I was told not to bring my young children near to old people who is critically ill due to the "qi". Can you advise what is the reason? Also I was ask to stand by their dentures. What is the reason? What other taboos for handling critically ill?
  17. This layout plan is typical of some of the layout plan(s) found especially at the HDB Fernvale @ Sengkang (constructed 2 to 3 years ago). 1. Usually to hide the washing machine / drier many use the L shaped sink / stove . Some built a low "partition" at the kitchen side to block the view to the kitchen. 2. The greatest "concern" would be the main door - kitchen "door". 3. The toilet at the "centre" is the least of the problem. 4. More importantly, the most crucial is hopefully your apartment has favourable Flying star "numbers" - superimposed on the layout plan.
  18. 1. Frankly, this requires effortandis not a FREE service. 2. 19. 1. Ideally, the toilet (if possible) should try not to be at the "center" of the home. Especially if it is the toilet bowl. However, the good news, is that frankly in Singapore, nearly 50 percent of all apartments does have the toilet "close to or in the centre" of the home. This is considered as a "leak". Majority of the time, a regular Feng Shui audit, can help to boost other areas and/or reduce the effect. 2. Main door to many Feng Shui practitioners is like the "mouth" of the home. Thus it is considered a crucial part. Imagine, a person opening his mouth and a "knife" or "fork" or "scissors" poking into it. There are two concepts, here:- 2.1 Commonsense approach If we open the main door and "greeted" by an "unsightly" kitchen especially if we can see the stove or knifes /forks hanging out to dry... 2.2 As mentioned under para 2, symbolically, if we open the main door and see a stove (lighted up) - here, it is like "getting" burned. 3. Again, I have seen many, many condo units that although the kitchen door is not facing the main door, but it is just on the side a few feet away from the main door. Same thing, from the main door or standing just inside the main door, it is adviseable not to hang any knives / scissors etc... (The commonsense is that if we do leave our door ajar, and if someone really rushes into the home, grab a knife... then... we may be in a "serious" trouble). 4. Are there any cures? 4.1 It depends! Under para 3, we may not be able to everyday, close the "kitchen" door either thru habit or "forced to do so". 4.2 It also depends on how suitable the apartment is to especially the male breadwinner:- 4.2.1 The most common approach is to use the Eight mansions (Eight House) or Ba Chia Feng Shui to see how suitable the house is... 4.2.2 Some Feng Shui practitioners discard 4.2.1 and use ba zi to check whether it fit's the person's ba zi element. For example, if one is a weak water person.. then a "south" facing may not be as suitable. 5. Majority of Feng Shui practitioners use either 4.2.1 or 4.2.2 but often not both to assess. 4.2.2. is considered a more "refined" concept - greater personalisation. 6. If Eight Mansions is used, then try to check what influence is in areas like the master bedroom, living room etc.. It is good that say if the person is a East group, and so happens the master bedroom is in the East compass direction. Here, the eight house qi is considered good for the person... 7. Flying star Feng Shui:- In many cases, it is a pity that although a certain sector has the double auspicious #8 but it may unfortunately fall in areas like the toilet, or kitchen area. Thus, in order to properly evaluate a home, all the above from para 1 to 7 should be looked at... Quote: Anonymous wrote: Hi Master Lee, im going to buy aflat soon but i have some doubts here whether to buy or not. I heard frm others n readfrm books that the main door cannot face the kitchen door and toliet cannot be in center of the house. Is it true or not? Unfortunalty that this house im going to get have this two problem. If i get this house, will there have any cures for this two problem aftera fengshui audit? Or would you advise not to buy? Im lucky to get to chose this house by balloting system, so i hope not to miss this unit.
  20. 1. The apartment number analysis in this website is based on Vertical Flying StarFeng Shui. As the name "vertical" suggests, qi varies from different level(s) or stories (floor). 2. Since yours is a landed property, there is no precedence under Feng Shui or Geomancy on whether a number is auspicious or not. 3. You may have to consider other numerology assessment for the house no.
  21. 1. In addition, like to share with everyone:- 1.1 As you had mentioned earlier, it is recommended that a staricase, has a turn or turns ie. with a landing. 1.2 If we look closely at the rationale, it is based more on how qi (chi) flows. Imagine if we have a straight staircase. And since the home is an enclosed space, a "weak" person or child or if our grip is not good or caught unaware, a huge "direct" gust of wind can throw a person off his/her feet when climing up or down the step. Thus, a staircase with a turn would be good as qi has to "slow" down reducing it's speed. 1.3 In additional, under commonsense, if someone really trips and fall, it may be very bad fall from upper continously towards the bottom of the staircase - if there is no landing to at least halt the "fall".
  22. 1. I am glad that you understand the concept. 2. In addition, unlike "external" steps, the internal staircase (with landing) is considered as one continous "flow". And qi travelling up or down the length of our interior home staircase is considered "continous". It does not because of a landing, "stop" but still continue to flow. 3. Anyway, as you have seen there is "no difference" when i counted the no. of steps on its own or continous in my previous illustration. They all add up to = Total 4 steps. Quote: Anonymous wrote: Thank you very much for your immediate response and clarification. Your explanation and illustration is very clear and easy to understand and I appreciate it so much. I now understand clearly specially when you mentioned that regardless the landing be long of short it forms part of the total number of steps. Therefore, it is in the total number of steps we see if it is auspicious or inauspicious. 4. Yes, your illustration seems correct = total of 22 steps. 4.1 In one of my illustration, if you can recall, I coloured the vertical sides in pink. In your example, I also manually, "counted" in my mind the "vertical" elevation and there are indeed 22 steps. 4.2 As I mentioned under Para 2, above, in an interior home, if qi (chi) were to flow up or down staircase, they would be a "continious flow" even if there are "landings". Qi will not halt at a landing and abruptly start again. Quote: Anonymous wrote: (Please see attached for illustration)With my illustration, can you please help me to understand the correct placement and usage of a landing? Which of the illustration is correct? In this way I would clearly understand on where to locate the landing whenever I would place a landing along the total number of steps or staircase. Also please clarify if both are correct and the landing's location has no effect to where it would be located as long as the total number of steps is auspicious.
  23. Please refer to my earlier forum message. Chinese astrology should be taken on the "lighter sight" and not in the serious grain. For example, that is why, we named our Chinese Astrology with a "fun" url : Lovesigns.net How often do you see any "serious" conversations or messages even in this forum on the talk of "those born on 1953 or 1965 da... da.. da ... da ... da.... So let's try to leave it that way...
  24. 1. In my opinion, it is at least good to hear that you are "starting" a "new" life. 2. However, whenever possible, I do hope that you do not take too much of the Chinese zodiac signs "too seriously". As I feel that too much reference, digestion of e.g. the characteristics of say a dragon, snake etc.. will make us -to-have auto-suggestion. 3. Frankly, one can never tell that the next "snake" one meets will truly be a "snake!" Maybe there is too much coincidence in your past experience in dealing with people. And broadly, any one of us can fit into easily into any of the 12 Chinese zodiac signs. 4. Even in modern Singapore, many people meet each other, be it couples, business partners.. nowadays, I don't see many approaching a Chinese astrologer to check their "pairing". 5. For example, nowadays, I don't seem to hear anyone's first introduction :" Can I know what "animal (Chinese zodiac) sign are you? " 6. We must be aware of the danger of "auto-suggestion" and "self-fullfilling prophecy! For example, if say I am a "rat" and if I keep on reading all the good and bad points of a "rat"; I may unwittingly act the part of a "rat"! Quote: I am now isolated with no family or friends. so I am starting again with no money. How do i improve this situation, how do i find people born in the year of the snake as i am told this sign will gel with myself and my daughter who is a dragon.
  25. In the attachedillustration, please note the following:- 1. Floor. The floor is usually the "ground" where we first start to step-onto a stair-case. (It can also be known as the next storey or level or even be a landing.) 2. Landing. This is where a staircase usually turns and the landing is between the upper and lower staircase. 3. Under the attached Example A: Shows a continous count of steps inclusive of the landing. = Total of 4 steps. 4. Under theattachment Example B:it shows the segregation of steps: from floor 1, 2 to the landing. And from the upper landing to another level = 1, 2 steps. Total = 4 steps. Here, even if we "recount" the number of steps i.e. 1, 2 and upper 1, 2 there is still considered as 4 steps. 5. The rationale is that whether the landing is long or short, the example shows that from : Floor (not counted) to step 1 to landing = 2 steps in total. And from the landing, (not counted) with 1 step and 2nd step onto the level should be counted. 6. Another possible way of counting can be based on my second attachment. insteading of counting based on "TOP View perspective"; try to count no. of "Vertical pieces" or levels as shown in my second attachment Example B: where I highlighted all "vertical" levels in PINK.
